Hisar Mosque (Hisar Camii, meaning the "Fort Mosque") or Hisarönü Mosque (Hisarönü Camii) is a historical Mosque in Izmir , Turkey. It has been recorded to have been constructed by Aydınoğlu Yakup Bey between 1592 and 1598. The 16th century Mosque is one of the biggest in the city centre and its interior contains one of the most striking examples of Ottoman Islamic artwork in İzmir.

Wer über den Basar schlendert, fällt quasi in diese Moschee. Sehr heller und unaufdringlicher Innenraum. Ein Blick hinein lohnt sich.

It is a very beautiful and historical mosque. It is one of the places you should see if you come to Kemeraltina. It is right next to the famous Kızlarağası Inn. You can already see the mosque when you look up under the arch. Many religious products are sold around it. Rosary, books, etc.

Sehenswert 👍

Hisar Mosque One of the Symbol mosques of İzmir is close to the Hisar Mosque, where I work, so I have the opportunity to pray almost every noon prayer there. It has an extraordinary atmosphere in terms of its spiritual atmosphere and religious officials. It should definitely be on the list when visiting İzmir.

Right at the center of the market is this imposing mosque, beautifully decorated. For anyone strolling passed the stalls and shops, this should be a stop.

If you want to enjoy a glass of Turkish tea or coffeee in the authentic atmosphere of Ottoman times it's a proper place. Don't forget to take a look at a row of souvenir boutissues on both up and down floors.

The spiritual atmosphere and the sound of the imam and muezzin are very pleasant. However, you cannot find the mosque without the crooked construction made around the mosque.

History lovers here. If you are an Ottoman or ancient historian, you should definitely visit this place and the ambiance of the inside is very, highly highly highly authentic and alaturka. Simply history.

I recommend you to visit this mosque in Kemeraltı in Izmir. The mosque, which has existed since 1598, reminds you of its historical texture.

One of the most beautiful works of history, but the vendors can be seen very hard because of the posters ... Attention, do not hang out and fall to the ground ..

It is one of the oldest mosques in Izmir. Since it is in restoration, it has been closed to worship since last year, but it is probably opened very soon.

Behind the castle, which was demolished in 1872, is in the Kemeraltı Bazaar in Hisarönü. It was built in 1592 by Yakup Bey. It is the largest and flashy mosque in Izmir. A central dome and the small around it…

If we have a homeland, mosques exist thanks to the call to prayer, it is a very beautiful mosque, I am jealous as a Manisa native, I hope İzmir will rise above the bar, the social life at the bottom of the mosque is also good, the shopkeepers have fully embraced the square, your business will be fruitful, you are very lucky...

👍 One of the most important touristic sites of izmir. There's no need to buy a ticket as this monument is part of an urban space. The plaza is so lively even at midnight. Also, there are various restaurants, cafes and pubs. Also, the ancient bazar is close by.
