I had high hopes for this place based on reviews and their menu. When we got there on Saturday around 10 am, the line was out the door as I expected. We ordered at the counter after about 25 minutes of waiting in line, then found a couple seats at the bar. The atmosphere here is fantastic- so fun and eclectic, and the energy was very friendly and vibrant. But the food was just not good, especially for the price and the hype. Our lattes were alright, but definitely nothing special about them. I got a vanilla lavender latte and couldn’t even taste the lavender, only a slight weird minty aftertaste. My son ordered pancakes, which were MASSIVE but tough and chewy and no real flavor. I ordered Swedish pancakes - they were also over cooked and tough, with just no flavor despite having lingonberry jam inside. Both of our bacon slices were chewy and tough and tasted kind of old. My eggs (ordered over medium) came somehow almost burnt on one side with the whites still runny and clear on the other. I didn’t eat them for fear of getting sick, so I can’t comment on the taste. $50 for a 2 lattes and very subpar food, super disappointing!

We stopped in for Sunday brunch before leaving the city. It's a super cute and friendly atmosphere. The food was so good. We had the French toast and corned beef hash. There were plenty of leftovers.

Great little funky breakfast and lunch stop. My French toast, over easy eggs and crispy bacon was just. Like. Homemade. My wife's biscuits and gravy was also exceptionally good. Great coffee and they make a delicious mocha Give yourself a little extra time, enjoy breakfast or brunch without worrying about the clock or sitting in a drive through and let Succotash feed you a homestyle breakfast. It's a treat

Very popular restaurant - for good reason! The food was delicious, the ambiance was charming and the employees were helpful. Totally enjoyed the whole experience! You may have to wait on a table. It's nice that they also have outdoor seating.

I stopped in to Succotash for the first time in a long time & I instantly thought to myself.. “why don’t I come here more often?!” It did not disappoint. I stuck with the classic farmstand breakfast with a side of biscuits & gravy. The food was great, the service was better & it’s such a cool spot overall.

I went into this establishment. Ordered my food and even gave a tip when I paid because I didn't think I had cash. I sat my number down on the table along with the receipt and the fresh cup of coffee that they had just given me. I went to the bathroom and was gone maybe 3 minutes. When I come back everything is gone. The guy apologizes. He gets me everything that I need. I do tell him that he needs to reprint me a receipt that shows I paid as well as the tip that I paid. Well that was the last I heard from him. Because he brought me my food but never came back to ask how I was doing or to refill my coffee or anything else. I know not to do that again, although I'm not going back. But if I were I definitely would not pay a tip in advance. What can I say for my first time there........ you win some, you lose some.

The flavour of everything was great. I tried the southwest kitchen sink bowl with eggs, chorizo and onions and peppers on a bed of fried potatoes. My friend has the cubano sandwich and thought it lacked meat cos it was very bready. We also thought the potatoes were very greasy. But the portion sizes were huge and we could’ve definitely split a dish between two people. They also have lots of coffee options.

Finding a dog-friendly patio with tasty vegan options in Kansas City is as quite the challenge! Thank you Succotash for offering AMAZING vegan pancakes and hash along with a sidewalk patio. Service was fast and friendly. Well worth the drive, if you are in the KC area!

Really liked this place! You can sense the character of the neighborhood it’s located in and Succotash is a nice addition. With eclectic art inside, friendly staff, and great food I think this is a place anyone would enjoy. I had the favorite breakfast sandwich and it was exactly what I was looking for. Familiar ingredients but they put their own take on it. I also feel like everyone does a side of potatoes/hash browns somewhat differently and I definitely look forward to having theirs again as well. Looking forward to trying more from this place.

Such a cute place to have bunch! Every step and every turn you will see something cool or interesting, may it be a Martha Steward meme or intricate art. The instructions were pretty clear upon entry: shows you the direction on where to order and it has the menu posted by the door. People there were nice and there will be plenty of pictures to kind of show you what I’m talking about. Food was good! I liked mine tasty and simple. Pigs in a Blanket, savory sausages wrapped in a crepe like pancake with the crepe being ever so slightly sweet. Eggs were cooked perfectly (sunny side up). The pepper mint bark latte was pretty good as well. I’d definitely go again!

Super cute, super delicious, fantastic staff. I was recommended this place about a year ago and finally made it in while visiting from St. Louis. I got one of the specials for the day, Crispy Pork Eggs Benedict and a nice strong coffee. It was all amazing. I had to take most of it to-go because I was running late for an event and it was still delicious. I can’t wait to come back and try the Swedish pancakes!

I've been waiting to try this place spot for some time, but it's been crowded beyond my personal comfort level. IT WAS WORTH THE WAIT, and I will be back to try everything on the menu. Great way to spend my self-care Sunday morning.

Visiting for a week and looked to gluten free options when we found this place. Happy to see they have options for toast and even pancakes. The bacon and g.f. pancakes were amazing. Hubby liked the chunky gravy on his homemade biscuit.

Super cool alt hip breakfast joint. She got the BELT and I got the pig in blanket. Chocolate milk tasted like nesquick mix. Belt was amazing, I thought the pigs could have a little more pancake but they where yummy!

Loved it! It would be nice if there were more seating and some sound dampening. It was hard to visit because it was so loud but definitely still worth going again.

A unique and eclectic restaurant. We enjoyed our visit here. The food, coffee, and juices were all delicious. The staff was friendly. They have a nice variety of choices on their menu. For a fun drink try the Little Richard (Mexican Coke with a shot of espresso).

It's a decent place to have breakfast. Place order and pay before seated. With the omelette, got some sliced potatoes. Some of the potatoes was rock solid, probably because it was precooked and reheated, and reheated. French toast was good. The pancake is massive, like family-pack size, and if known, I wouldn't have ordered unless I was with a group. Otherwise everything was tasty and satisfying.

They have gluten-free bread ! This is not reflected on the restaurant website’s menu, but is true. Good breakfast sandwiches (two of us got the BLT , though one said “no thank you” to the griddle egg & the pesto that would normally be on it). Delicious, in both cases. The third companion got the mushroom benedicte, which was also tasty & quite filling. Accommodating, patient service at this cute quasi-country-retro diner. Booth & bar & outside seating. Thankfully, the music was quite & conversation was possible.

We visited KC from the UK back in April, and this was one of our breakfast/brunch stops. This was probably one of the top ones, the corned beef hash was out of this world! Reasonably close to the memorial if I remember correctly. Service was excellent too.

The café itself is cute and I chose this place since it had some good reviews for gluten free food since my friend is allergic to gluten. She had no issues with cross-contamination on this visit which was great! The food was served rather quickly which is perfect when you're starving. The presentation of the food was well done. My only disappointment was that the food was bland. Both my friend and I found the taste of everything to be rather lacking.

Been trying to eat here for a long time and finally I said to myself I’m going to wait in the line however long it takes ! Well there was no line around 1pm. Food was wonderful, the fresh juices were great as well ! Definitely a place to brunch if you want great food . Would like to hear some type of Sunday music undertone to make the atmosphere a little more fun but hey we’re there to eat not dance 😂! Must go visit

Such a cute restaurant an amazing breakfast! It has that small cafe feel with gourmet food. The line was intimidating but we moved through very quickly and found a place to sit as others were getting up to leave. Awesome experience! We will definitely be back if the opportunity comes up.

Really hip little place with super cool, friendly staff and really incredible food. I don't think I really enjoyed the pressure of having to stand and choose my food and order at the counter before finding a table. I much prefer to sit down with a drink and take a moment to choose. But everything else was great

My husband and I went on a date here. Heard about the place from a TikTok influencer. The decor is homey. The employees were nice and patient. We enjoyed our time there. The pancakes were delicious. The lattes were tasty. The southwest sink was not the best thing on the menu. The potatoes are very dry and flavorless. The salsa is basically tomatoes. Hardly a spice was used on this dish. I would not recommend ordering this dish. Now with inflation, everything is very pricey on the menu. A latte was $7. Understand that they are a small business and they’re trying to make ends meet. My husband and I are looking forward to coming back one day and trying more of the menu. Would recommend a long visit to enjoy the atmosphere.

This local, homegrown diner is renowned for a reason: epic food, great coffees, and good service with an authentic vibe. This morning I ordered the Kitchen Sink. Guess what? It had everything on it. My girlfriend got an omelette with hash browns and sourdough toast. (They have several excellent bread options.) I had a rosemary caramel latte to drink, which was made just the way I like it: not too heavy on the syrup. Everything was great, and we had leftovers. We arrived about half an hour after they opened on Sunday morning. Despite a line, we got seated quickly and got our food not much later. Always a pleasure dining at Succotash. Not an ounce of suffering!

Had breakfast here while visiting KC. The vibe was artsy and fun, with violin versions of music we all know. We enjoyed their dining style which was ordering upon entry and having our food run to our table. The service was wonderful and the food… omg the food was amazing. We may even come back again before we leave. Thanks succotash for a great breakfast
