Atlantic Pro Divers is the best. The shop has quality equipment at good prices and the ranges from high end to solid quality gear is available. I did the PADI Open Water certification and the whole experience will stay with me for life. The rental gear was top-notch. I was able to train, learn, and explore with confidence and comfort. The most incredible part of the experience was the Staff Anna and Aaron and Instructors Josh.The Staff checked in with me to make sure I was on track with my e-learning portion prior to arriving at the certification. I drove in from Louisiana for the certification course, and, it was a warm welcome when I arrived. The helped me pick the right gear and we very patience in selecting the right rental equipment to make sure it was a good fit. I had no experience walking into the shop, bit along the journey I have leveled up to know my basics and what is best for me due to information and instruction from Atlantic Pro Divers. A final note is that the Instructors care. They really showed up for every individual that was present in the course. It was incredibly powerful to watch them help participants over come challenges and see the instructors walk the students through fear and panic. And to see someone gain the confidence to comfortably execute the required safety skills was really amazing. If I could give more than 5 stars I would. I'm impressed with the whole operation. And I will be returning to get my gear and for future dives and courses with Atlantic Pro Divers for sure. Thank you so much. 👌 🤿🤙

I would rate a bazillion stars if I could - nothing but great things to say about everyone affiliated with Atlantic Pro Divers. I finally completed my PADI Open Water certification this past weekend after putting it off for 16 years, and I couldn't have had a better experience! From the beginning, everyone at APD was so helpful, even when I was just calling to get info about the classes. When I went to get set up with gear the week before class, Bob helped me to pick out a fantastic kit that I'm fully obsessed with. If you're taking the course and are certain that diving is something you want to do, I HIGHLY recommend buying as much of your kit as you can in advance of class, rather than renting for your cert, so you can use your own kit through class and get used to it - I'm so much more confident to dive again being so familiar with my gear. The first day of the practical portion of class, I had an unexpectedly manic travel morning/afternoon, and I was stressing about running late, but Aaron and Ana made sure that I was able to catch up with the crew at the pool even though I missed the gear orientation (since I already had my stellar kit from the week before). About the instruction... throughout the course, Josh and Aaron were PHENOMENAL. I had some (considerable, to be honest) anxiety going into the course after being unable to complete the same PADI cert 16 years ago due to my inability to get out of my head with one underwater skill in particular. Josh and Aaron would not let me fail this time. They anticipated my needs WAY better than I could for myself and through their understanding, support, and all-around awesomeness, I got through every single one of my underwater skills, washing away all of the insecurity I had about not being able to finish the course way back when. There really aren't words for how grateful I am for the work that they do. They care and it SHOWS - thanks Josh & Aaron!! So, in summary, if you need gear, the team at APD will help you secure it, whether it's for snorkeling, scuba, whatever. If you're wanting to get your PADI Open Water Diver cert, invest in good gear early (and with pro help from the team at APD), and as far as the course goes, if you do it anywhere else you're crazy, because it doesn't get better than Atlantic Pro Divers.

Atlantic Pro is the BEST! The 3 of us did a semi-private with Aaron to complete our open water training. From the moment we walked in the shop, we were greeted with smiles and an incredibly welcoming environment. The shop is run by a sweet family that truly cares about their customers. Our 3 day adventure was one I’ll never forget! Aaron made us feel extremely safe, even in moments where I felt nervous or anxious. He’s super knowledgeable and really cares about all of his students, and it shows in his teaching. The instructor was incredibly patient with us and was an awesome diver to learn from. Such an amazing experience with Atlantic Pro Divers! Our 13 year old son went through their scuba certification class and they took such great care of him. Josh Beard was his instructor and was absolutely amazing with him and made sure he was safe at all times and really understood everything. AMAZING EXPERIENCE! I absolutely loved my first scuba experience with Atlantic Pro Divers, especially my instructors Josh and Aaron. They were very welcoming and made me feel safe throughout the dives. Even in moments where I felt overwhelmed in my first times of “breathing under the water” I knew I was in good hands. I also went by myself and the hotel recommendations were perfect in terms of location and quality. Josh and Aaron thanks again for an amazing time and I look forward to more amazing dives in the future thanks to Atlantic pro divers. P.S. my favorite dive was day three in Rainbow River, you see a good amount of aquatic life and get a feel of how to move through the water more efficiently.

Ethan was a fantastic instructor for my open water. Very Knowledgeable and personable. There were a few problems with the certification documentation in the beginning. Anna went out of her way to get everything straightened out for me.

I'm so glad I chose Atlantic Pro Divers for my PADI Open Water Certification. Josh and Drew were amazing instructors, who consistently made me feel safe throughout the course. I have spent years with undiagnosed anxiety and only recently being treated so Scuba diving was not on my radar to take on. But watching my husband and son get certified and seeing all the benefits my husband has had from diving encouraged me to take the first step. And Undersea Warriors helped me take the leap! If you didn’t know, Undersea Warriors is an amazing non profit organization whose mission is to help military active duty, veterans and first responders work through ptsd, anxiety and mental health issues through scuba diving. And Atlantic Pro Divers is the only dive shop in North Florida affiliated with Undersea Warriors! The first couple of pool sessions were stressful and full of anxiety. Learning to relax and just breathe was the probably hardest thing for me to do. But my amazing husband and instructor wouldn’t let me quit. With more practice and a lot of mental prep work, I made through the weekend, one skill and dive at a time. The final dive brought a new calm and enjoyment of the water, everything around me and what I was able to accomplish. Thank you to my husband and instructor, Joshua Beard, Atlantic Pro Divers and Undersea Warriors for helping work through my fear and anxiety and find calm and confidence in the water!

My brother and I drove down from GA to do our Advanced Open Water with Atlantic Pro and could not have had a better time! Aaron and Josh are both excellent instructors and train you for real dive scenarios. Josh Beard was the instructor for my Rescue Diver course and it not only improved my diving but I left with a real feeling that in a Emergency Situation I can stay calm and overcome any obstacle. I didn't even know I needed a confidence boost for my diving but I got one 100%!

Such a great experience with this dive shop. The owners, Aaron and Ana, were super friendly and helpful in getting us set up ahead of the open water scuba certification. Aaron took a lot of time to break down all of the different options for gear and didn’t just push the more expensive options. Calli, our instructor, was phenomenal. Seriously not enough good things to say about her. She was super organized throughout the weekend, had a positive attitude, and went above and beyond in helping me through some challenges. Aaron got our certifications processed within an hour of the shop being open on Monday and followed back up with me on some questions I had from the day before. If you are looking for a professional dive shop in Jacksonville, this is the place. I am looking forward to continuing my relationship with the shop with future certifications, such as Nitrox and Advanced Open Water.

I HIGHLY recommend Atlantic Pro Divers! I just completed my Open Water Certification with them, and they were absolutely amazing. Our instructors Aaron and Rachel were very professional, patient, and kind. They worked together to attend to the needs of each individual student, while still attending to the needs of the group as a whole. I had difficulty equalizing my ears at lower depths, and they were both so helpful and encouraging. They know that diving for the first time can be a scary experience, and they do such a wonderful job of easing anxieties and ensuring that everyone is having a good time! Amazing learning experience! Aaron and his team were awesome. I had some reservations on whether or not I could complete the skills. Long time dive pro expanding into spearfishing and needed some new gear. Comparing prices online, Atlantic Pro Divers came up with competitive prices, but so did a handful of other sites. What sets them apart is customer service. First item I ordered arrived intact, but snapped upon inspection/set up (apparently a bad manufacturing batch). Not only did Tom (shop GM) make it right, he went above and beyond to help me craft the rest of my gear list and get competitive pricing. That's the difference between an active local dive store that teaches and runs dives, so has hands-on experience with gear vs some warehouse store. There are a handful of online scuba retailers that we all end up shopping from, usually all with similar pricing, but I'll make Atlantic Pro my first stop going forward.

Aaron and Ben were amazing!!! My 13yr old daughter was getting her open water cert with Aaron @ Atlantic pro divers. This is my third child to get certified and the team did an amazing job. We dove devils den and the rainbow river. Both dives were perfect for certification and very fun for the rest of the diving family.

Atlantic pro divers in Jax Beach was a top notch place to get scuba certified. The class was a great value for the level of personalized instruction the scuba instructors were able to give us. The schedule for the pool and open water dives were perfect, allowing us to knock out the dives in one weekend while still walking away from the class feeling confident about our future dives. Our instructors were knowledgeable and a blast to be around. Highly recommend this dive shop!

I couldn’t have had a more positive experience with Aaron and his family/team at APD. His passion for diving is only overshadowed by his desire to share it with others. Not many shop owners go out and teach every weekend like he does. From getting fitted for gear through the certification process, Aaron was excellent. He was knowledgeable, helpful, and did a great job of making sure we were having fun. He has an excellent peaceful presence underwater that can make any anxious first-time diver comfortable and confident. If you’re in the area and looking to get certified, I couldn’t recommend APD highly enough.

I had bought a prescription mask here, and it broke the first time out. I was far from Jacksonville at the time, and I had to improvise to make the mask usable for the trip. This involved drilling, which fixed the mask, but ultimately made it unreturnable. I understand that the owner would have lost money on the mask, but his general attitude towards the whole situation was completely unprofessional. I will not be dealing with this individual or his business again.

After getting my open water certification with Atlantic Pro Divers, its very clear why they are considered the best in the Jacksonville area. From the moment you walk in the doors to meet Aaron and Emily, they spend as much time with you as you need to discuss equipment, gear, and fittings that work best for you. Your class size is also much smaller than other dive shops, allowing you a more intimate and personalized approach with Josh, the instructor, and Calli and Jon, the divemasters. Josh personalizes your training to fit your needs to ensure your success as a new diver. He uses calm positive reinforcement techniques to make you more confident as a new diver, and I came out of training more excited to jump in the water again as I ever thought I would be!

Highest recommendation! Got my teenage daughter certified here and was even able to accompany her throughout the process, which had the added benefit of serving as a gear reorientation / refresher dives for me. Josh was the lead instructor (also a Navy corpsman and military diver) and did an outstanding job, couldn't be happier with his instruction. Rachael and Ralph served as dive masters and also were top notch. Only 6 students in the class (which they considered a large group), with 3 instructors so they had lots of attention for each student. Professional, safe, fun, efficient, and knowledgeable. Price match for gear, even compared to Amazon. Navy veteran owned and operated. 5 stars, go here!

The best dive shop and instructors around NE Florida. My wife and I continued our dive experience by doing the advanced open water certification and Nitrox dive course. APD was very professional and accommodating. They took care of everything needed for us to complete the course. The legendary Josh Beard was our dive instructor. His knowledge and making sure we were ready for our dives made it possibly the best dive experience to date.

I just completed my Open Water Certification at Atlantic Pro Divers this past weekend and they were amazing. From going in to get our fins, mask, and snorkel to helping us power through all the difficulties when starting out diving, Calli and Jon were the absolute best. Jon worked one on one with Dad, who got certified with me, when he was having trouble getting the hang of everything and they both truly cared about getting you through the course and making sure you were okay and comfortable. Call was an amazing instructor and knew how to calm you down just when you needed it underwater. I would recommend this dive shop to any other person or diver who wants to get certified for any of the specialties they offer. I will definitely be coming back to get further experience. Was originally certified in 2001 with Atlantic Pro Divers, and came back this year with my family for their certifications, and a recertification for myself. Aaron was our instructor and was very patient, as well as accommodating with some of the nervousness that can sometimes present itself with diving. I highly recommend Atlantic Pro Divers, great, family-owned operation with a great selection of gear, dive needs, and ability to provide training for all PADI certifications.

Anna was so amazing and helpful, she made me so much less anxious about my dives. She helped me find the right sized wetsuit and gear, as well as explain how they worked to me. The gear was in perfect condition and worked amazingly. I will absolutely be going back for any of my scuba endeavors and i would recommend anyone in need of anything scuba related to go to her!
