The
front
desk
person
was
inattentive
and
rudely
scrolled
through
her
social
media
instead
of
greeting
me
when
I
checked
in
the
night
of
my
arrival.
She
saw
me
as
I
walked
in
the
door
because
another
guest
and
her
child,
that
she
had
been
speaking
to,
were
about
to
walk
out
of
the
lobby
as
I
opened
the
door.
I
had
to
walk
up
to
the
desk
and
speak
to
her
first
because
she
did
not
acknowledge
me,
even
after
a
few
seconds
of
standing
at
the
desk.
She
talked
and
sang
to
herself
more
than
she
talked
to
me
and
dismissively
placed
my
debit
card
and
driver's
license
on
the
counter
instead
of
in
my
hand.
There
was
a
roach
in
my
bathroom
when
I
arrived.
I
killed
it
and
immediately
ran
to
the
convenience
store
around
the
corner
to
buy
bug
spray
and
bathroom
cleaner.
Two
days
later
a
roach
from
outside
crawled
into
my
room
as
I
opened
the
door
and
I
had
to
chase
it
down.
The
shower
wasn't
the
cleanest,
it
may
have
been
wiped
down
but
not
scrubbed.
I
scrubbed
for
myself
and
it
was
cleaner
than
it
was
when
I
checked
in.
The
elevator
on
the
left
side
of
the
building,
near
the
bank,
was
a
sauna.
It
was
hotter
inside
than
it
was
outside,
both
in
the
day
and
night
times.
The
television
itself
worked
just
fine
but
the
remote
was
missing
the
battery
cover.
The
channel
guide
and
brochure
on
the
bed
stand
advertised
that
HBO
was
included
but
the
channel
did
not
exist.
There
was
one
day
that
the
cable
was
completely
frozen
for
most
of
the
day.
The
afternoon
front
desk
agent
could
not
answer
my
question
about
what
time
housekeeping
would
be
coming
to
clean
my
room.
She
was
unsure
and
made
up
time
that
ended
up
being
incorrect.
As
I
left
the
lobby
I
discovered
that
was
stuck
inside,
as
the
front
door
would
not
open
when
pulled.
Someone
from
behind
the
desk,
possibly
a
manager,
had
to
yank
the
door
open
for
me
to
leave.
I'm
almost
certain
that's
a
fire
hazard.
I
chose
to
stay
at
this
hotel
because
I
am
familiar
with
the
quality
of
Choice
Hotels
and
never
expected
to
have
the
problems
I
had
at
this
location.
As
a
Choice
Privileges
member,
I've
experienced
many
stays
and
have
never
encountered
noisy
guests,
filthy
rooms,
and
horrible
customer
service.
These
are
things
that
I
would
expect
from
a
local
motel
considering
the
price
that
I
paid
per
night.
This
hotel
is
an
embarrassingly,
shameful
reflection
of
the
Choice
Hotels
brand,
as
a
whole.
I
would
never
recommend
nor
book
another
stay
at
Suburban
Extended
Stay
Hotels.
