Great experience! The soup was recommended and it was delicious, the avocado was so good and it was full of chicken. Pastor was a win as was the birria, be sure to get the consumme. The elote wasn't my favorite but it was okay, full cob. Seating is pretty good and a nice walking location on Main. Highly recommend.

This place is great. It's a very casual quick service restaurant with both inside and outside seating (or takeout). I had a huge burrito, and they brought chips + salsa as well as a couple hot sauce-type sauces (the avocado one was my favorite).

I frequently get carry out or delivery from Maciel's downtown! The tacos are delicious and to-go orders are always packed accurately. My favorites are the asada and chicken fajita tacos, but really everything is great. I also highly recommend them for catering. Thank you Maciel's for many great meals :)

This place keeps getting better and better and I’m not sure how that is possible but it is. I wanted a quick snack after I worked out. So, I stopped in and got a fried chicken taco! And.. OMG! It was the best thing ever!! I usually douse everything I eat in sauce, I know, I know! Don’t judge me! But I didn’t use the first bit of sauce. The flavors in this was amazing and so fresh tasting! Please, please give them a try if you are local! If your not local stop in and say hello and grab you a taco! Cause’ who doesn’t love a good taco! They are so friendly and always willing to offer up a good suggestion if you want to try something new! The price is under where it should be for the quality of food and amount your getting. They also deliver to a small radius around the downtown area! Love this place!

Wow . Really really good. They are currently using the tables inside to set up to go orders so there isn't many seats if you want to eat at the restaurant but there are a couple outside . Awesome area to sit outside and enjoy a great meal . I went with a street and seafood taco selection. I had the spicy fish, spicy shrimp and spicy chicken. Nothing over powering spicy but great flavor. The pork street taco was my least favorite by far. Great meal here and really glad we stopped here. In my opinion it's definitely deserving of the high rating it has

Great place for some street tacos.. Perfect for grab and go or to sit and eat. If you're going to dine in, head upstairs where the area is more open and the view is better. The wait staff will bring you chips and queso and will refill your drinks while you wait for them to bring your order to you. Overall, great value for the money. Pretty impressed with the flavors which are simple but delicious.

The way google took me parking is kind of crazy but worth it. I truly enjoyed this little spot, I really have a Boujee taste for food Memphis lack Boujee for me. This spot right here is everything I needed it to be the food was delicious the people working there super friendly. Please visit this place the are worth it and not super expensive.

Oh my goodness! This is a gold mine. I ordered a shrimp burrito and, just for fun, a spicy chicken street taco. Chips and salsa came with the meal. The salsa had awesome spices. the chips weren't the best, but still good. The shrimp burrito was top notch! It came with beans and rice. The spicy chicken street taco was full of spiciness! WOW! I am impressed and will come back. This may have been the best Mexican I've ever eaten. You need to go here!

This place is excellent. The customer service is impeccable. I wish more Black establishments would adopt this model of polite and courteous service. My food has always been ready as expected and the customer service is top notch. I have always felt welcome here. My favorite so far is the tostada, I usually get mine with Asada(steak). They give you 3 types of salsa with your order ranging from mild to hot that are tasty and go well with chips. It gets busy at lunch during the week, but that’s because people know the quality and are willing to wait a bit longer than usual. There is no doubt this is a well managed establishment and they will continue to receive my patronage for the foreseeable future! Viva Maciel’s!

Best casual Mexican restaurant downtown with reasonable prices and the friendliest staff. Highly recommend the nachos, tortas, guacamole, and gazpacho salad. Also don't miss the tamales available on weekends. No liquor, just bottled beer. Dine-in seating available upstairs with complimentary chips and salsa.

Stopped in for quick fast/casual lunch. Place was very small but fine for a quick lunch. My shrimp quesadilla was pretty good, very simple but the shrimp, cheese and tortilla were all very tasty. Not a lot of shrimp though and generally smaller than I had hoped. My girlfriend's spicy chicken quesadilla was more flavorful. Rice and refried beans were ok, pretty run of the mill. Overall a pretty good quick and affordable lunch.

Nice place to grab some tacos. The restaurant was very clean. The chicken fajita tacos were good. You can dine inside or outside. They are very popular as they were pushing out to-go and doordash orders like clock work!

I love how the asada taco meat is seasoned, tender and delicious. I am not a fan of fat meat and j never get any fat meat here. Lots of meat on your tacos. You don't get free chips with your order but I think they still deserve 5 stars for quality and quantity.

Just when I thought this place couldn’t get any better, they introduce birria tacos!! GAME CHANGER!! Grabbed lunch with a buddy the other day as we work downtown. These birria tacos are exploding with great flavor and lots of fresh ingredients. Don’t shortchange yourself and pass on the beef consommé. We had the chips and salsa as well. Great value for the fresh food you get. Fast, friendly service helps during the day as well. I look forward to going back.

Chips and “variety” of salsas are free. I had two Fried Avocado tacos, and relished every bite. One of the best eateries in downtown Memphis, hands down!

Great atmosphere. This restaurant is situated in the main street and sitting by the window on the second floor gives nice views of the main street and the tram line with passing trams/ trolleys. The food was also good. It was tasty and the portion sizes were good. Service, IMO, was average.

I cannot express how amazing the tacos were. Divine would be an understatement. It is an out of world experience to have their tacos and yet, somehow, the customer service still manages to outshine the food. I cannot recommend this place enough

My goodness. My goodness. My goodness. Eat. Here. Now. This place has personality, wonderful staff, and some GREAT FOOD with even better prices!!! They do a beautiful job of plating the food. There is a true understanding that people eat with their eyes first! So, don’t judge my pictures. We ate most of our food before I remembered to take photos. You’ll have to use your imagination…or, just go visit the Magnificent Maciel’s! We ordered a chicken quesadilla plate with rice and beans, steak and tilapia street taco special, elote that will make you slap somebody’s momma, and cheese dip and chips! I know this sounds like a lot of food…it was and we ate it all! Every bite! I was overly ambitious and initially told my husband to order me a torta. I’m glad he forgot to order it bc I was stuffed (I’m usually a kids meal eating adult). There’s two levels to the restaurant, so don’t be deterred by the line when you enter. You can order your food and go upstairs and the server will bring it up to you. This is definitely a place we’ll visit when coming back to Memphis!! Make sure when you go to TIP YOUR SERVERS!! They absolutely deserve it!!

My fiance & I hit this place (and Low Fi coffee) almost every time we pass through Memphis. Authentic, delicious and I must say a 10/10 for the elote. I wish we would have gotten two. You get a ton of food for your money. They also did a great job on their pick-up service. I did it all online & it was ready to go when I arrived. Absolutely recommend.

I really wanted to like this place. The service was pretty good. The reviews seemed so good for the food to not be good. The chips are thick and way too dense in my opinion but that’s not a huge deal. But the salsa was also basically tasteless, I couldn’t taste the tomato at all, just watery cilantro. The beans and rice were VERY basic. My boyfriend said the tacos were average but I just wouldn’t classify this as “authentic and tasty” Mexican food. Maybe it’s one of the better places for Memphis but I’ve had much better from food trucks.

Excellent food, outstanding customer service! We brought a bus group of 70+ high school students and parents through Memphis this week and ordered Maciel’s delivery. They made the whole experience nothing short of amazing. Communication was fantastic, and they accommodated our group in several ways, including labeling each meal with individual names to make distribution a breeze. The food was hot and waiting when we arrived to our destination, and it was absolutely delicious. Maciel’s did everything to make the whole process easy. I can’t recommend them enough!

I've become a regular for delicious tacos, friendly workers, and speedy service. Whether it's dine-in or take out, I have never been disappointed in ordering/eating here. No fuss or frills solid food.

We got here with only 40 minutes before our show at the Cannon Center. The Fried Tacos, guacamole, and queso were fantastic. Salsa was very fresh. Will definitely put this on our list of downtown go to places! Only compliant was not with food, but the upstairs eating area was cold. But dont let that deter you.

Just to start this out as honestly as i can, we had just gotten out of a 6+ hour long drive so we were hungry and sorta didn't care about what to get just knew we wanted food! With that being said this food was amazing, we both got the Veggie Burrito and a fountain drink. Food didn't take long to get to us, we were seated upstairs, which on its own is a completely different experience that we weren't expecting, you walk into a small entrance where you can see the cooks making the orders and you place your order at the counter, not gonna lie the downstairs isn't much to look at but I do appreciate being able to see the cooks, not for security or anything, just because you don't see that too often. After you make your order you're walked upstairs and seated in this very nice large room with many tables chairs and even a bar! We came towards the middle of the day so we didn't experience any drinks unfortunately. Beautiful space, great design and lots of natural lighting, the atmosphere was very nice and refreshing. The food, now the food was super surprising not to say that we're expecting it to be bad but in my experience anything Veggie or vegetarian usually has a tendency of being a bit bland and or being filled with lettuce where the meat would've been, which is sad because that means many places rely heavily on meat to bring the flavor, but our burritos were so delicious! The burritos had lots of flavor with nothing overpowering anything but instead everything complimenting everything else rather well, they had actually used potatoes in the burritos as the protein replacement and i was very much elated at that, because let's be honest you can do so much with potatoes and they absolutely paired well in the burrito, I personally don't like spicy anything so when I saw jalapeños I was a bit worried, but they're actually pickled jalapeños with other vegetables and they added such a fresh taste and nice bite I was very much pleasantly surprised. The dish was served with beans and rice both of which were also delicious nothing too much to say about them but very good sides. I definitely recommend this place, prices are actually low for food this good! Definitely stop by and try!

HOUSE-MADE chips are great! Walked from the hotel for an early dinner. Had Cheese dip and then fried tacos with refried beans. Too much food but I ate it all, for under $20 with a drink. Rice was exceptional, particularly with some added cheese dip.

Imagine my delight discovering an unexpectedly good Mexican taqueria in my travels through Memphis. As a Californian, I typically have high expectations for my Mexican cuisine. Maciel's did not disappoint and provided some truly delicious food. I ordered the spicy chicken quesadilla and every bit of it was fresh, delicious and well-made. More surprising still, my food arrived extremely fast (<7 minutes). Another highlight was the excellent service. Between the gentleman taking our order and the efficient bussing of the tables their staff provided Maciel's definitely operate like a well oiled machine. I'm quite glad I got to enjoy a great meal here at Maciel's. Until next time, Memphis!

Ordered delivery. Tacos were delicious. Well spiced and generous. The side sauces were great too. Both red and green were nicely hot and flavorful. Also ordered nachos with queso and salsa which were priced very reasonably for the amount of dip and chips provided. All in all a great meal for a reasonable price.

As a taco connoisseur, do not let the 4 stars deter you from stopping by this place. It is off the beaten path, but in a "jazzy" place like Memphis it is one of my taco spots. Now the tacos are a bit dry for my liking, but the flavor in the al pastor is really good. I wish the elote was grilled and not boiled, but again it is slammed with flavor. As a bonus, you can wash it all down with some fresh horchata. All in all, if you're looking for tacos or a really nice torta, you should hit them up.

I was in this store on yesterday and wanted to get these ceviche but was told they were out of it and was recommended to get the shrimp tostada so I did, my tostada had two shrimps on it.... Very poor recommendation and service.

I didn't expect it to be so incredible! The most tender steak I've ever had anywhere, freshly fried tortillas, and the most flavorful sauces. I've had authentic Mexican and Chilean food and this stuff is the real deal! Best tacos in Memphis without a doubt. If you find better I wanna know.
