Very nice place to visit! It's a little out of the way of... anything, but well worth it. We got the fish and chips platter and the blackened chicken sandwich. Both were amazing (and I don't even like fish). Our waitress was absolutely great, very sweet and attentive. The atmosphere is a good combination of restaurant and pub (much like in Ireland) and it was really a great place to go for a quick and delicious meal.

We are new to this area so we've been exploring everything and various restaurants. We decided to meet friends at Donovan's and we could not be more happy that we did. The first time we went we were seated in Cheyenne's section and she was very friendly and helpful in navigating the menu for the first time. She was attentive and just a real sweetheart. I got the Corned beef and Cabbage and it was the best I'd ever eaten outside of my home. It already comes sort of deconstructed meaning that the meat was already shredded and the cabbage, which I believe was also sauteed, was already chopped up and ready for immediate consumption LoL. My wife got the fish and chips and it was delicious as well. She substituted sweet potato fries for the regular and it was absolutely delicious. Our friends got the fish and Reuben and they seemed very satisfied as well. The atmosphere was as you'd expect for an Irish pub and all of the patrons were comfy and having a great time. There's a great bar for tipping and few with friends and plenty of seating for a nice dinner with family. We will definitely be going back to Donovan's and I think that if you go that you will really enjoy it. Take Care and Happy Eating 😃 Rick W

Good food, the fries were cut in-house. The Reubens were amazing, the meat simmers 2 days...very tender. The fish was a great portion. It has a wonderful Irish atmosphere.

Food was ok. I would be willing to go back and try other items. I wanted to try corned beef and cabbage and for a restaurant it was decent but I am spoiled by my husbands version. The egg roll things were ok but way too greasy. The kids portion size was ok but way over priced. The service was great and out girl was very friendly. The place was clean.

Okay, so I read a lot of reviews of different places for try for dinner. This was the only place that didn't say "closing in 17 mins". I'm just gonna say, nothing in this restaurant is "small portion" scale, so come hungry. Very hungry! All of the reviews recommended the fish tenders and the local guy I was chatting with recommended the Reuben egg roll. You cannot go wrong with either of these two. The Reuben egg rolls were my favorite and they were delicious. I'm not a huge fish person but the fish tenders were pretty tasty too! As far as service, it was on par. Molly was the bartender for the evening and she was friendly and quick with my order and before I was done with my first beer she asked if I wanted another. She kept the area behind the bar clean and was cleaning throughout the night so it wouldn't all hit at one time at the end of the night. She was pleasant and very attentive. So maybe sitting at the bar you get better or different service vs. sitting in the restaurant at the table. I would come back again! Thanks for an enjoyable night, Molly. Not a bad little spot with good food and service. I will admit the shepherds pie wasn't as good as I hoped. It was a bit dry, but if could have been an off night for the cook, so would try it again. The Reuben sandwich was great! Really good flavor and perfect blend of dressing and sauerkraut. The only thing I personally didn't like was the bill had two values on it when presented to be Cash price, or credit card price. Using a card was $1.50 more than cash price. If you're new to this place be aware of this. I get the idea that card holders are being hit with the 2-5% CC transaction fee, but when you see it at the end of your meal (if it was in the menu I honestly missed it) it's not a great impression. I'll go again but likely not a place I'll visit regularly One odd but funny quirk that no one knows why; they're prices we've with weird cent values: $18.07 or $12.74. Nothing wrong with it but when I asked about it, the staff had no idea if there was a meaning behind it, or if it's just what their value of that food is. Either way it was just funny to see she a conversation starter.

They don't have bangers and mash anymore. And they call cottage pie, "shepherds pie". It does taste good though. Went for a holiday dinner with coworkers, everybody seemed satisfied with their meal choice. It was very dead though and the decor was a little tacky.

Donovan's is one of our favorite restaurants in St. Johns county. The food is always top notch! We recommend the chicken tenders, shepherds pie and egg rolls!

Love this neighborhood pub for its friendly service and delicious food! The fish and (homemade) chips and Reuben/Rachael sandwiches are always fresh and delicious. Reuben egg rolls are the bomb as well. And drinks are always great too! Come by you won’t be disappointed 😁

Let me start of by saying how AWESOME my food was today. I stopped into grab some takeout. I ordered Buffalo chic tenders with blue cheese. They where cooked perfectly & the homemade blue cheese dressing you can drink it. It’s absolutely delicious!!! I also ordered a turkey club wrap with pub chips!! The portion was huge I couldn’t finish it. When ever I’m over that side of St Augustine I stop in I love a good Irish pub. They just put new carpet in !it looks so clean & brite. Great job to Kristin & her son Jareb the owners There doing a awesome job & it shows THANK YOU. For a quick delicious lunch!!!

Donovan’s atmosphere is quite nice and the staff were very friendly. The Irish nachos were delicious. The patty melt was dry, as well as the Irish Blt. The pub chips are wonderful though! Would definitely recommend this place for drinks and sports.

I can't say enough about this place!  This is one of my main go to places if I just want a beer and an appetizer, or dinner with friends. Great food, ice cold beer and super friendly staff.  They have a huge Irish themed menu, but I have to admit I'm a sucker for the wings and their steak tips, yum!  Besides the food and the good drinks, what truly makes this place stand out is the atmosphere.  Family run and owned and it shows!  Kristin, Jareb and the staff will always greet you with a smile and make you feel welcome.  If you're looking for good food, a good time and great people, support local and give this place a shot!!!

I thoroughly enjoyed my experience at Donovan's Irish Pub. The food was exceptional and the ambiance was immaculate. My visit to Donovan's Irish Pub was a delightful experience. The quality of the food was outstanding and the establishment was spotless. The people there are some of the most warm hearted people you’ll meet. They treat you more than family and it’s always a blessing to be served by them. This is a small family business filled with great hospitality and amazing food.
