Great place to celebrate any special occasion. Great service and excellent food. I was celebrating a birthday so went to happy hour. I sat myself in the bar area and ordered happy hour apps. Dynamite shrimp we're plenty, crisp and well sauces with crispy noodles. The truffle fries were cooked fresh but I really didn't taste any truffle at all, not worth the price 👎 The lettuce wraps were crisp, and full of stuffing and chicken and tasty. Fish tacos were plump with grilled fish and avocado and sauce and you got two good sized ones which I really enjoyed. Staff kept my drink filled and served quickly and attentively. If dining in, I highly recommend preservations as it was packed by 5pm and I got there before 5. Will go again for sure.

Great place to take a date and have dinner on the water. Beautiful view of the sunset on city in some areas. Well decorated and good music. Our servers are always polite and accommodating. Good place to celebrate an occasion. New York strip is always on point with some potatoes. Love the quality in the meat they serve.

This review may be biased by the fact that I have always wanted to go to this restaurant. And when I say always, I mean for like 30 years! My family would walk past it on the river walk and I'd see all the fanciness going on behind the glass...it wasn't like Oliver Twist or anything though lol.... Anyway, it lived up to my expectations and more! My bf brought me for Valentine's dinner. The building is beautiful inside and out! We had a table on the riverside and the view was awesome! We had the Kim Chee Calamari (best I've ever had), Lobster Bisque (so creamy!), Crab-stuffed Baked Shrimp (AMAZING), the Callahan prime rib (so juicy & tender!!), and the chocolate lava cake (you MUST try this!). Our server Kayla, was knowledgeable, fast without being pushy (encouraged us to take our time even), personable, and just overall adorable!! She made the experience extra special for me... This was just the most awesome Valentine's Day dinner I've had in the longest and the little girl in me finally got to eat at the fancy restaurant on the river 😍

Shout out to Ethan! Great customer service skills. The ambiance is amazing! The place is beautifully decorated on the outside and inside. Great happy hour selections, and the drinks were tasty. My favorite was the coconut shrimp. I ended up getting two orders. The crab cakes were not on the happy hour menu anymore, but my group still got it to try it. I've had better. I prefer mine crisper and seasoned. They definitely didn't skimp with the crab. But I would not add corn to the dish. (My preference) The drinks were worth it. $8 mango mojitos had me feeling nice!!

Excellent service. Great food. Awesome calamari! Try it out. Staying in a nearby hotel, Chart House was recommended. Really good food. Meals run $30 - $60 per meal so save up. But between the food and the service you will enjoy your experience. We had the Mahi and the Grouper and both were good. But the Calamari appetizer stole the show. Flavor, texture and more flavor. It’s worth the visit alone! And warm bread to start. Oh, good.

Beautiful location and architecture. The service was good, but the potatoes were cold. The staff quickly offered to fix the problem. I wasn't a huge fan of the salmon, the sorrel sauce was bland. But really, it's all about the location in the architecture anyways. Absolutely breathtaking spot. Great date place.

We were looking for a new place to celebrate our anniversary and found Chart house. Fun ambiance with lively music, neat architecture, and menu options. We were not disappointed. Each table has a river view. Staff were super nice. Food was delicious and cooked to perfection. Wifey had the salmon and I the prime rib. Very little came home is was so good. Had an enjoyable walk in the waterfront afterwards. Great date place!!!

Okayish food, so many items were out of stock. Could be better, way better. Old fashioned (drink) was watery & seemed they used cheap whiskey. Lobster was rubbery. The only good thing was dessert. Parking is free & plenty available right outside. Reservations required.

Expensive, yes. But this place is top notch. I was very lucky to show up on a Friday night without a reservation and got seated right at the windows looking out on the river. Service was friendly and professional. I got 1/2 dozen raw oysters. They were fresh but nothing special about them. (I have a very high bar for judging oysters) They were standard Gulf oysters. My server recommended the Key West spiced Grouper. It was grilled with Key West spices and served with a Mango Habanero sauce that was just perfection. Wonderful experience and would highly recommend Chart House in Southbank.

It was our first time here and after the spectacular meals we had, it won't be our last visit! Not only is the menu superb but it's the team of people who work there who make your evening special. My wife raved endlessly about lemon herb-crusted salmon while I enjoyed the wild mushroom shrimp and scallions. Fantastic!

Visited the chart House for a co-worker happy hour! This happy hour is perfect. It lasts from 4:30 until 7:00 and has a wide variety of drinks and food on the menu. The food was really good as were the drinks. And it wasn't just well drinks either. They had top shelf drinks on the happy hour menu too. The atmosphere was really great. We sat in the bar area and could see the water. Perfect place to go for an after work happy hour.

We have been to the Chart House before but never in Jacksonville. Our hostess and another server were extremely friendly and pleasant. The walkway into the restaurant and the inside were aesthetically pleasing. We ordered the calamari for an appetizer which was very tasty. I ordered the warm spinach salad - which was amazing and my favorite part of dinner. My husband’s New York Strip was not made to order (he ordered it medium rare and it was somewhere in between medium and mid well) and had a large fat cap that wasn’t rendered down at all. I ordered the Mac Nut Mahi and the fish was over cooked and the sauce was basically melted peanut butter. Our server was awkward and not very attentive. He forgot we ordered coffee and didn’t offer us any refills. My coffee (which took forever to receive) was full of coffee grounds (which our server claimed took so long because “he was brewing a fresh pot”). He never offered us the lava cake nor mentioned anything about 30 minutes to prepare (even though I know this is a thing because they do this at every chart house). There were several things missing on the menu that are shown on the website. For instance the appetizer “tuna tartare” and some of the accompaniment to the steaks were not even listed. I was quite disappointed with our dinner this evening. We tipped our server more than 20% but he truly neglected us and I don’t feel he should have received this.

Very impressed with this restaurant! We had reservations and requested a booth by the water. The view was so stunning! Was their meeting with some great friends and we all truly emitted our time and our dinner. The service was amazing. They were completely on top of everything. We got the spinach and artichoke dip, the coconut shrimp, and the firecracker shrimp. All very good! I got the prime rib with mashed potatoes and clam chowder. The night finished off with Creme Brule. Really highly impressed and very very good...

Our server, Collin, was very attentive the entire meal with helpful food and beverage recommendations. The entrees were superb. The prime rib was a favorite, melt in your mouth! The prosciutto-wrapped salmon had a delicious butter and mango balsamic glaze that was delicious. Suggest ordering it on the side if you do not care for your fish covered in sauce. Also suggest ordering your salad dressing on the side, as my salad was a bit overdressed and the lettuce wilty. The lava cakes were not very molten on the middle, but still ok. Overall a pleasant experience and a great meal with excellent service! Would return. Enjoy!

Well anniversary dinner. Terrell, our waiter was terrific. He even sang a song for us and gave us Carmel covered cheesecake for desert. Anyway, we had the Burrata Charcuterie board appetizer (wow). Michelle had the cabonara with lobster and shrimp, and I had the prime rib that they are known for. Everything was excellent.

We arrived 10 mins early and were asked to wait to be seated closer to our reservation. Our table had a great view. Mango sticky rice was the best. Shrimp was over cooked but everything else was good.

I came in town to participate in Jacksonville Caribbean Carnival (check out what you missed -same name on IG, FB & X). And had the pleasure of dining at Chart House one evening. The best time ever! From my entry to being served. Recommendations, suggestions and a very happy & pleasant staff. Sara my bartender is an absolute doll. Couldn't believe the size of the cocktails, The view-"No words"! And not 1, or 2 but 3 creme brulee's. Definitely try the Ahi tuna nachos & Prime ribs sliders! Will be returning very soon!

Went 13 Feb (they have 400 folks coming 💝 Day). Dillon was an excellent server, knowledgeable in dining options and very accessible. We didn't do the Fix price special, wasn't interested in Lava Cake. Food was Fab, salad bar interesting, view spectacular. We came in at 4:30 PM to catch the Happy Hour (a super one in and of itself) wine prices prior to our 5 PM reservation. Will go back for sure, and joined the Landry's Select Club to take advantage of our spend. Dinner was not inexpensive.

I went for an anniversary. Staff was very friendly and informative. Beautiful dining area, offering a fair sense of privacy for each table. Gorgeous waterfront views with easy access to an after dinner stroll by the water. ❤️ Incredible cocktails - we tried the Bourbon & Chocolate drink (highly recommend, just be careful it's delicious and strong). Bar area was great for sports/game viewing, and the dining room was fancy - properly lit for a Saturday evening and fairly easy to navigate the open floor plan. We had the salmon special and the teriyaki sirloin YUM YUM YUM! While it won't be an every day dining experience, unfortunately, for us. I highly recommend you check out the spot for any special occasion you have coming up! Menu offers a wide variety of options, for all land and sea lovers, even delicious treats for vegetarians (didn't check it's vegan or gluten friendly options too closely). I would love to go back and try more of their scrumptious dishes, and look forward to my next visit!

My bf took me here for my birthday, which was pretty cool because neither of us had be here before. Beautiful views and a beautiful restaurant. We got the calamari appetizer,, which was not good. Flavor was amazing, but the calamari itself was overcooked and kind of had a freezer burnt taste. We both got salads, which were good. We also both got prime rib, which was amazing in flavor and the portion size was amazing. Our waitress, Bethany, was super sweet and made it a wonderful night.

Our first time at Chart House for our anniversary exceeded our expectations. Definitely worth visiting and the overall experience was better than we’ve experienced at other local establishments. There is absolutely nothing we can critique about our evening. Highly recommend!!

Came for Christmas evening dinner. Server very nice. Drinks good. Food not so much. Presentation was bad. Calamari sauced and a bit soggy. Wife’s fish was overcooked. My supposed king salmon was overcooked and dry even tho I requested medium rare. Filet size consistent with Atlantic salmon so I really doubt that it was King Salmon. Daughter’s steak was burnt on underside but it was cooked to requested medium rare. She did like the steak and potatoes.

Chart House has an excellent view of The St. John's River and a healthy selection quality food. The service was solid and customer-centric, but the prices, however, were rather high.
