They have the best customer service and staff is really professional. It was my birthday and the reservation was at the rooftop and all at a sudden it started raining heavily. The host lead us to the elevator through the kitchen to avoid getting wet and we got seated in the ground floor. We were surprised that they made us second food orders. However, food is below average and not that variety menu.

Black Sheep is a must visit! Our waitress Ang was phenomenal even letting us split the entree plating for two! Deviled eggs come out first, these are delicious. We had radicchio salad then steak and potatoes. Everything was perfectly cooked and delightful to eat. Finished off the meal with Black Forest cake a perfect balance of dark chocolate and cherry. While I didn’t order a cocktail this time, the menu is full of well named drinks that I will indulge in my next visit. Overall an experience I can’t recommend enough, the ambiance is intimate, decor clean and modern with incredibly friendly staff.

The burry chill this Christmas week didn't keep me from the rooftop bar at sunset. Kudos to outstanding service every time. The oyster appetizer was excellent, followed by dinner portion Cesar's salad with grilled shrimp. A delicious light meal coupled with amazing skyline views was perfect.

Loved it. I went at night and sat on the rooftop for some drinks. The menu was limited due to the time but I still found it to offer many options. I had the roasted oysters which were amazing. I had the miso wings which were delish. The only thing I wasn't a fan of was the burger. It honestly tasted like a school cafeteria burger. The fries were fresh though and pleasant. It was a bit hot but it is summer time. Just something to keep in mind that at 9pm on a summer day it will still be a bit warm up there. The server was attentive and friendly. Overall, great experience.

Just ok. I saw so many reviews on a lot of different websites so I was eager to try… it was fine. Service was fine. Food was fine. We wanted seafood so that was one of the reasons we choose black sheep. If you were deciding between this restaurant and another one. I would choose the other. We got the eggplant, ribs (pretty good), brussels (would get again if I had to go back) , roasted oysters (yum) , pumpkin drink and sage n gin drink (not sweet… waitress indicated it was sweet). Enjoy if you go

Sat on the rooftop on a beautiful day! Matt was our waiter-very efficient. We had roasted oysters, fried okra, French onion soup, trout roe spread with crackers-all excellent!

Impeccable experience from start to finish. Front of house and back of house syncing together to create an unparalleled environment and meal. Fresh, local, and seasonal ingredients with complex yet familiar tastes. Highly recommend the roasted oysters and shrimp and grits. This seems to be the it spot for Jacksonville!

Good experience overall! Service was a bit slow, but the ambiance of the place makes up for the delays. It gives a good chance for you to see Jacksonville from up top! You have to ask for bread, but it wasn’t worth asking for. Just a store-bought roll - nothing special. Braised lamb was excellent! Loved the flavors and the bread that came with it. Next up was the crispy skin salmon - the salmon was good and crispy but the purée was not my favorite and the peas tasted frozen. Last up, the family-style Brussel sprouts. They were good, but didn’t taste like they were made to order and definitely did not need to be $16, in my opinion. I’d love to go back for the ambiance and rooftop, but might give some different menu items a try when they change their menu next season.

Black Sheep Rooftop for Easter Brunch ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ We had a 10am rooftop reservation and were seated immediately. For a starter, we shared the Maple Bacon Crullers. The crullers were light and had a sweet cinnamon butter taste which was a great base for the maple frosting and bacon on top. Our entrees included the Black Sheep Club with fries and (2) Steak and Eggs. The club sandwich was huge but my daughter enjoyed every messy bite. Our steaks and eggs were cooked and seasoned perfectly. The fingerling potatoes were delicious from soaking up the buerre rouge. Every part of our dining experience here was outstanding. The ambiance, food, and service will have us returning soon.

Had reservations and brought an out of town friend. Our dinner experience was delightful. We had a wonderful waitress. I personally did not enjoy my “you go girl” drink, and would have appreciated the waitress giving me an alternative. The pountine was delightful but filling. The little chunks of homemade pastrami you will fight over. Ribeye was delicious and cooked perfectly to medium rare. Caesar salad very well dressed and on point. Too full to look at dessert.

Great service and love the atmosphere. But the only thing we all enjoyed and we were a party of 9, was the Ribeye. I’m not about to rip apart the Korean Short Ribs. All I will say, is it tasted like pot roast.

Had rooftop reservations at 5:30. Started with drinks and appetizers. The drinks were delicious however, the fried okra came out at room temperature. The entrees took over an hour to come out. We got the salmon and pork chop and both were absolutely delicious. Also, I don’t normally like macarons but these were the best I’ve ever had!

Black Sheep is one of our favorite spots to hit, especially when we have family visiting in town and want to show them Riverside’s best. The Mac and cheese is amazing, and the rooftop space is wide open and provides a beautiful view of the neighborhood and downtown. The staff has always been very friendly, and the quality of the food has been consistent!

Tried a few different things on their menu during lunch time. The Mac and cheese didn't have much flavor. The grass fed burger was dry. The chicken sandwich was decent but they breaded the chicken too much. The poutine starter could have had some extra flavor to it. The gravy was not bad. Come here for the vibes/views not the food.

I think somethings changed with this restaurant! I used to love it & purchased a giftcard for a family member excited to bring them to here, but I don’t think I’d return again. Out of the 6 different dishes ordered the only one everyone found to actually taste great was the burger & a few apps. The other entrees were $32-$49 each, and the taste and presentation didn’t reflect that. The bill was over $350 (before tip) for 7 people which wasn’t a surprise, it just didn’t match the quality of food presented. We tried their steak, verde bowl, and a few others I can’t remember at the moment. The worst menu item was their current shrimp & grits. It’s bright green & watery from I think it’s cabbage, no seasoning… grits are really gritty & undercooked- shrimp over cooked. We would have all sent back our food, but we didn’t have time to reorder and make it to where we needed to be. Either their prices need to lower or the flavors need to improve!

Absolutely immaculate dining experience. Would suggest making a reservation for convenience. Would of loved to sit in the rooftop area but it was full. The location is gorgeous with beautiful eye pleasing decor inside and out. The service was spot on, our server was the best and very on top of everything. The food took approximately 30 minutes to cook, but was more than worth the wait and the price. Catch of the Day and the steak are definitely recommended. It is quite pricey, but we'll worth it if you can afford it. Can't wait til next time, we're eating on the roof!

We meant for happy hour before going to the Cummer museum. Everything was tasty. We decided to sit inside because the wind was chilly the evening we went. We had the fried olives, chips, burgers and Poutine. The food was presented beautifully as always. We had great service and didn’t feel rushed even though it was happy hour.

Great service! Drinks are well made. Food was good but didn't love the shrimp n' grits too much. Ambiance is perfect for a date. Will still return and try something else!

The food was really good (I had a ceasar salad and the shrimps and grits and my husband had fried oysters and the veal cheek- sooo good and tender), Great atmosphere, nice view from the rooftop. Our waitress was really sweet and attentive. I also liked that you could make reservations for the rooftop as well. Some places have first come, first serve for the rooftop tables, but we were able to reserve the day before on the website. It sucks that they are closing down on 5/27/23 as this was our first visit. Better go while you can.

Service was great. Seated promptly. Clean and quick. Food was just warm and potatoes were sitting maybe a bit long. Benedict was great. And the milk donuts a must!

Delicious 5 star food Awesome service Beautiful ambience was a bonus! Perfectly seasoned ribeye, the best poutine I've ever had, and good creole style shrimp and grits. The peach cobbler fundae was immaculate as well.
