Always an amazing experience here. I love the ambience and the darker lighting. My favorite cocktail here is the lemon drop martini. I normally eat the cypress salad which is delicious but, I’ve been having the lasagna lately. Omg delicious! Comes with a salad made from champagne vinaigrette with garlic bread. Then of course their fresh bread which comes out prior to your course. Yummy yummy!

Love J.Alexander’s for their “steak and fries” steak is good better then average what makes this steak better is garlic butter, it make whole meal ten times better. Atmosphere is good in restaurant maybe to dark for lunch, also be ready your closes will smell after. Also, if planning to come with group if people without reservation they won’t sit you until 80% of party shows up.

Our server Joey was the kindest bet server. He made sure we had everything we needed. The food came out fresh, cooked to temperature, and quickly. The carrot cake was the winner of the 3 desserts and I do not usually like carrot cake.

Wifey and I had stopped here to have a night cap drink before heading home. We didn't have any food but from what we could see each plate looked good and we remarked that we would come back and eat someday. We sat at the bar which was dimly lit making for a cozy and romantic feel.

Went the Wednesday before Thanksgiving. Made a lunch reservation and the table was waiting. Very clean, smooth, trendy atmosphere. Service was very good. My drink was refills without me having to ask. Lunch menu is good but not as extensive as I thought. Only 3 appetizer choices and they were pricey. $15 for chips and queso. I’m sure it would have been very good, the food was cooked excellent, the price points are high, but it’s at johns town center so you know you’re paying more than it’s worth. Got the Mr jacks fried chicken platter and it was some of the best, juiciest, we’ll seasoned chicken I’ve had, and plenty of it too, very good portion size, but it better be for $24. My wife got the steak and fries and the steak was cooked as well as capital grill. $29 They also refuse to cook a steak above medium which I appreciate. So for lunch, I got 2 entrees, 1 beer and 1 soda and with tip walked out $80 lighter.

The hostess was very attentive, funny and patient. The food was good, I had the rotisserie chicken and smashed potatoes and asparagus with a Reis Wine. Great Atmosphere and ambience. Will go back♡

A must visit spot when you are at the Town Center! J. Alexander’s offers a great place for small group dine-in, both for lunch and dinner! Environment and decorations are awesomely garnished. Special thanks to the small card at each table! If you want to add some dining temperament, you are always welcome to book ahead. For the food, slow roasted prime rib tastes so well. It feels like beef melting at the tongue. J. Alexander’s also provides daily menu, which brings some daily specialities. We got rainbow trout during our visit. Hope you also find something great here!

My wife and I went there last night. We had the seafood special which was swordfish. The lemon butter sauce is really tasty and creamy. The smashed potatoes were well presented but a very large portion and didn’t have much flavor. Still I should urge that this maybe been the way it was intended and not that it was poorly done. You do have the option of other sides. The atmosphere is elegant: dimly lit tables with a real candle await every booth. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable. The restaurant was clean except some fries on the ground. I would guess a recent guest had kids and they hadn’t gotten to it yet. I would recommend this place given the singular experience.

Food was good, service was good and not too intrusive. Just the right balance with great food suggestions. Well done!

Have had great service and some exceptional service here. Food is great. I'm not a salad as my meal person but here I am. The Asian Ahi Tuna salad is amazing. People I've gone with can't rave enough about the crab cakes. My only complaint is getting a reservation for more than 4 people is really really tough so for bigger parties we end up somewhere else.

This place LEAVES me disappointed. After a $200 bill. 1/3 enjoyed the meal. Two of us ordered medium rare steaks a NY strip and ribeye, instead receive two RARE steaks. I expect a steakhouse to serve a properly cooked steak.I don’t think I’ll be giving this place another try. Apparently the trout was very good which was the one happy person. The warm carrot cake was also very exceptionable. The marinade on Maui ribeye marinade reminded me of the grocery stores steak marinade Dale’s. The lighting is very dim, I have very good eye sight and don’t wear glasses but find the dim lighting a little too dim. EDIT: after my review I was contacted directly by the manager and given gift cards to come try J Alexanders again. I was pretty surprised that the manager would extent such a welcome, unfortunately my second experience was worse and only solidified for me why I will not come here again. If I could say one thing it is this: this is basically an Applebees A+. The onion rings are unsalted. Their salad undressed. They brought bacon on salad when my guest doesn’t eat pork. Their servers lack experience and I saw them ignore cashing out my check while the servers and the ones cleaning tables sat one table away munching food down, while I am suppose to be having some food experience. I’m sorry staff should not be eating at the tables one table away while I’m paying for the experience. The booths I sat in were unsanitary and not clean, full of prior guest left over food, dirt, salt I dunno. When I shared my experience with the manager or service person she was apologetic and tried to offer me my gift card back but I didn’t even want that back because I didn’t even want to come back and eat J Alexander for free. Come here for poor service, mediocre food, and poor lighting / meh ambience.

The food was so much better than expected! I had the prime rib sandwich and it was great. Learned martinis are the go to drink, will definitely order next time! Just wasn’t really into the interior of the restaurant, dimly lit and seemed like it needed a little deep cleaning.

Decent dinner option in Town Center. Inside feels cozy with the dim lighting which I enjoyed. The service was good. The food was good- nothing extraordinary but we enjoyed all of our plates.

Everything was great. Perfect spot for a date night with the Mrs. We had the spinach queso which was a show stopper. Absolutely delicious. I had the ribeye special and the Mrs had the prime rib. Both were cooked to perfection and will absolutely be going back. Only one negative, bar didn't have any purees, so Mrs couldn't order her go to drink.

The rotisserie chicken was very good, even the white meat was juicy. Drinks were very strong! It's definitely worth the price! The Mexican City queso was nothing to write home about. Even though the waitress was very nice, we had to search for her a couple times.

Oh my goodness! My friend ( former co-worker)and I met for lunch since we don't get to see each other anymore since retiring. The atmosphere was amazing and the food was divine. I had the Carolina Crab Cakes and she had the Wedge Salad with Shrimp. We both agreed that every single bite was worth the price. Our server Brandon was so nice and made sure we were well taken care of. We really felt special and will definitely treat ourselves again soon. If you're looking for a luxurious dining experience I highly recommend you check them out. 👍🏼😊

Came in for lunch after 1pm and sat at the bar. I ordered right away and got the NY strip medium rare with macaroni. The place wasn't very busy but still took about 30mins to get my food. The steak was okay, nothing to stellar, and the macaroni was pretty basic if I'm being generous. Considering the price, I'd expect better all around. Could've gotten better food at Texas Roadhouse for half the price.

The filet mignon I asked for couldn’t have possibly been actual filet mignon. Granted they may have been close to closing time but for a restaurant this renown I should not have received stale food that made me have diarrhea. You can clearly see from the picture how tough the meat is when I cut into it. I was so hungry but I couldn’t eat anymore it was that bad. I’m so disgusted and disappointed in J. Alexander’s with this experience I just had.

What an amazing place, we weren't really hungry. So we said let's get a couple of Appetizers. They came out and they were so large. You could have made those a meal. Not to mention they both were great. Then we ordered dessert. Not only were the desert's quite tasty. I can't deportions were very large and something That was unique to me, was that the carrot cake and the chocolate cake? Both came out one. Restaurants The desserts come out best. I almost forgot the best part. There's service is impeccable. It is off the chain great. Any other supporters if you want to use doesn't come close to describing how good their service is.

Everything was great from the drinks to Brice our server. You can’t go wrong with the colossal onion rings! The fish special of the day was drum and it was delicious. The salads are pretty big, so my husband and I asked for it to be split. Trust me, you won’t leave disappointed.

Steak was overcooked for two of us. Ordered a rare and medium rare steak, both were cooked to a medium finish. Tasted fine, just a little over. The onion rings were delicious tho! I highly recommend going there for onion rings and a burger, lunch is great!

I absolutely 💯 love this place!!! Yes. It is pricey but you get what you pay for, delicious food, great service and awesome ambiance. I love love love their cypress salad. Fresh salad, out of this world's croutons and the best crispy chicken you'll ever taste. And plenty to eat.

I’m a single man so I usually just go to the bar and enjoy my meal, but at this location they had an area behind the bar that was very comfortable as well. From the moment I walked in I was welcomed as if I were a celebrity. Zach and Taja were very friendly and answered every question I had regarding the establishment and menu. They also recommended the loaded mash and Steak Maui and I was so happy I listened. The food was just amazing on top of the outstanding customer service. These guys knew the assignment. I will return very soon.

By far one of our favorite places to go to. Steak Maui is the ultimate steak pleasure! Melt in your mouth like soft tender beef should. Hint of pineapple within the brown sugar is delectable! It’s one of our favorite places to go. The quality has decreased after Covid and storage wars began but I am in high hopes it will resume soon.

My wife and I enjoyed a wonderful night last night as this was our first time visiting this location. The server was superb! Great wine recommendation, and kind. The food was delicious as expected, and prompt to our table. I had the NY Strip and was cooked to perfection. Will definitely return to this location.

First time to Jacksonville J.Alexander’s. Red-Head Rita was delicious! After reading some reviews, we opted for the grilled artichoke appetizer. I’m not sure if it was not cooked enough or if I ate it wrong or if that’s the way it’s just supposed to be, but it was impossible to chew. The sauce that was served along side, however, was absolutely perfect! Just wishing I had something edible to dip. Caesar salad was great. I had the New York strip. It was perfectly cooked, medium rare. It comes with NYO Mac & cheese. While it was creamy & cheesy, the taste was a bit on the sweet side. Not bad, but just not my favorite. My husband had ahi tuna, which is a favorite of his at J Alexander’s. Delicious, as usual.

We had an excellent lunch today at J. Alexander’s. I had the pictured steak burger, which was perfectly cooked to my liking of medium. It comes without condiments on the burger so make sure you ask for the ones of your choice to come on the side. My wife had a salad with grilled chicken instead of fried, as well as a bowl of the chicken pasta soup of the day. Everything was delicious and the service was on point.
