Love the big boy Mac and cheese, been eating it for years. But don't order it unless you're prepared to be very full and very sleepy after. I have a very big appetite and can usually down a lot of food but this meal always kicks my butt and it's always so worth it.

We were staying with another couple right up the road so we walked to this place for lunch on a Saturday. Fairly busy but very fast service. My husband and I got slices - pepperoni and mine had jalapenos and spinach - and both were great! Also had a garlic bread appetizer which everyone enjoyed. Friends got one of the sandwiches and were amazed at how loaded it was. Great value, good service, cool atmosphere.

Wow! My sister recommended this place to us and I am so glad. We had spaghetti and Meatball with added sausage and then the Home on the Range Chicago style. I added fresh ricotta and removed the chicken and it was so good! Really good and pretty fast considering the size of the pizza! Recommend everyone try them and the music vibe was great too.

I really like this independent pizza place. Buy by the slice or have a full pie. Also have various Italian pastas. Today I had jumbo wings. I prefer breaded and they were crisp and big and hot. The coating isn't seasoned but I tried the honey garlic sauce on the side and it was flavorful. Good service and consistently good food.

This might have finally fixed the itch for some authentic delicious deep dish pizza. I've tried maybe half a dozen other places around Jacksonville and this place absolutely brings it home. Almost too filling, bring some friends! Also had a cannoli before dining, dessert first if you will. This was also good, I can't say it was the best I've ever had. But, it Was good. I'll be returning for a few other tries from here, I recommend you do the same

The best pizza in town! We got Stromboli’s, calzone and one slice of cheese pizza. I’m disappointed that I didn’t know about this place sooner. Food was delicious, services was great, prices are perfect. Highly recommend

Carmines says they make New York style & Chicago style pizza, so I had to give it a shot. NY style slice was huge. Really tasty sauce and crust. I tried the Chicago style too. Real soft crust. Heating time didn’t take more than 20 minutes. It also tasted great.

Loved the food so much! Our waitress, Ashley was so kind and attentive, never had an empty drink or had to worry! The place was busy, but you couldn’t tell they were so on top of it. My favorite was the mozz planks which she recommended, they were so gooey I loved it. Highly recommend, my husband who lived in Chicago says this is his favorite place for deep dish outside of it.

Food was great. First time eating Chicago style. Service could be a little bit more attentive, it wasn't that busy. Cool stuff all over the walls and ceiling. Parking can be problematic if they're busy

Carmines is always a safe bet for solid pizza. Yesterday I ordered a couple of slices that were pretty good. There was a lot of cheese this time around - you can see where they added more before reheating the slices. Personally I would have preferred the slices without the added cheese (there was a LOT of cheese on the pizza) but it was still good. The service is awesome as always and it's a great spot.

Great spot. Food was pretty good. Thin crust really wasn't "NY Thin"... but close enough for a southern joint to make for a decent meal. Flavor was good and crust was enjoyable. Plenty of parking and easy to find location. Would definitely return

Found our new pizza spot. Ordered from here twice since we moved to this area, it’s perfect and delicious each time. The ingredients taste very fresh and the dough is soft and tasty.

Crowded and not a lot of parking. The food was good and our server was very nice despite being very busy on a Tuesday night. We had the Greek salad, which came with dried cranberries in it. It's different, but it tasted good with the olives, feta, and dressing. We also had NYC Stromboli which was very good. Also they have lots of beer varieties on tap. Very cramped and noisy and there were people standing around waitng for a table. A few tables outside. Consider ordering to go and pick up. Lots of people were doing this.

We visited Carmines Pizza House for lunch while traveling through Jacksonville. We arrived at 11:30 and although the parking in front of the restaurant was full, we had no problem getting a booth to eat at. But by noon the place was full. We were greeted by a pleasant gentleman who invited us to sit any place we chose. He then left menus with us and we perused the specialty pizza section looking for something "safe" and something interesting. The safe choice was the Home on the Range pizza; basically a "meat lover's" pizza. The interesting choice was Da Bomb. It's a pizza with blue cheese, chicken, and jalapenos with a drizzle of hot sauce. Both pizzas were really good. The crust was not soggy and had a nice crunch when biting into it. The Home on the Range was meaty deliciousness on a tasty tomato sauce and Da Bomb was aptly named for its spice. I shared both pizzas with my granddaughter and she picked off the jalapenos because of the heat, but otherwise loved the pizza. The taste of the blue cheese is quite pronounced, so if you like the funky taste of blue cheese mixed with the heat of jalapenos, you will enjoy this pizza. My wife played it much safer, ordering the lunch special: two slices of pizza with a drink. She ordered pepperoni and black olives, which are her favorite pizza toppings. The lunch special is a good deal and the pizza slices are pretty big! The atmosphere of Carmines Pie House is cool. There are lots of things hanging from the ceiling or tacked to the wall, quirky things you might find in an antique shop or on the side of the road. The peculiar decor makes dining here fun. Our food server was very friendly and attentive. She checked on our table several times after bringing our pizza to see if we needed anything. My impression is that the people at Carmines Pie House are hard working and enjoy what they are doing. We all were glad that we stopped by Carmine Pie Shop for lunch. It's always a risk trying something new, but this time is paid off.

I was visiting Jax on business and, as always, wanted to try a good pizza joint. After extensive searching I selected Carmines Pie House, primarily because the pics looked good and I was feeling deepdishy, And thank goodness! I had the 10" Chicago with pepperoni, sausage, and banana peppers and it was fantastic. The staff was very friendly and helpful, even navigating an issue with the oven earlier in the day and still cranking out good pies in the afternoon! Keep up the good work Carmines, next time I'm in town I'm going to try one of the NY style offerings. 👍 🍕

We came here because of the positive reviews and we were not disappointed. The Chicago style deep dish is so good that my youngest daughter are 2 slices by herself. She has never done that. We definitely plan to return.

What a great find! Our very first visit!! Nestled in the neighborhoods of Riverside, we were looking for a local eatery! Boy did we score with this place!!! From our server, Victoria, to the appetizer, main pies and our cannoli dessert!! Victoria was an angel! She explained the entire menu, staring with the fresh daily bread deliveries and the made fresh daily salads. The entire menu is available from open to close! We had 2 Chicago style pies, UNBELIEVABLE!!! (Train wreck, no pineapple and the Boca Raton white) There was so much food!!! The atmosphere is inviting, the beers are cold, and the service OUTSTANDING!! Highly recommend, and will certainly be returning!

I love this place, just made my first visit. We were greeted at the front door, and got to choose our seat. I ordered S'ghetti w/ butter no sauce for my 2 y/o and the chicken pesto penne for myself. It was so tasty and the portion was huge! I love the separate kids menu. The ambience is really nice with the Ibiza mix playing is the back ground. I'll be back for desert!

This is the BEST pizza I’ve ever eaten! I got a NY style pizza 🍕 the sundried tomatoes on top really gave it a wonderful flavor, I add pineapple and black olives…don’t judge me it’s good. But the crust is so good too! You can tell it’s fresh. This is my new go to pizza place

$2.50 slices of pizza for happy hour… lobster Mac-n-cheese (with balsamic drizzle!) and delicious cake slices and cannolis! This place was so good and left us feeling full for the rest of the day! Definitely worth checking out!

I had the zucchini fries and the Jersey Shore fried calzone. This is never disappointing! It’s my personal favorite. The waitress was fantastic. She was very patient and accommodating as I had a to go order that changed after I submitted it. This place is always a winner.

The food was great- zucchini fries were a great starter, and then we went with the Sofia NYC style and Frenchy Chicago. For a party of 6, one of each was perfect. However, the service was the real winner. Richard was attentive, friendly, and made our experience A++. My wife ALWAYS runs out of water- Not the case with Richard! Thanks for a fantastic evening!

Got here with a fee tables open at 5pm on a Saturday, when we left there was a Waite with a crowd outside. Fun place, big menu. Kids meal pizza slices are HUGE. meals average from $12-$18 a person, lots of choices and portions big enough for to-go boxes. Will be back :)

Carmines has the best pizza in town by a long shot!! The deep dish meat pizza with stuffed cheese crust is sooo good here. They also serve Angry Orchard on draft which is a big plus for me. The service is always outstanding—they are quick, friendly, and helpful! I’ve visited several times and I have never waited as long as I’d typically expect to wait for deep dish pizza. Prices are awesome relative to the quality of food and service. Also, their music playlist rocks; definitely a good combo of classic hits and modern pop, sometimes with a good cover in the mix. Overall my experiences here have been 100% positive.

Was really good food and customer service will definitely be back. Only bad thing was lid wasn’t on marinara sauce and I spilled it all over myself transferring it to bag. Wings were amazing. Cheese flanks were good but you only get 3. 10” Deep dish is plenty for 2-4 people if you get more than pizza.

I would leave more stars if I could. The service is great. Everyone is happy and on point! The food is so fresh and the drinks are cold. We always make sure to order enough to have leftovers, it’s that good. Richard D is awesome!!

  • 5/5 Victoria B. 7 months ago on Google
We wish we lived in Jacksonville just so we could have those wings again! Everything we had was delicious but the wings definitely take the cake! Saucy wings while still being crispy are a must and they were huge! Pizza was also very good and the options for specialty pizzas are endless but definitely something out there for everyone! Can't wait to come back 😍

This was our first visit. We were in town for a work conference and a guest at the conference said he went and had the best Chicago-style pizza. My fiance and I had to find out for ourselves, since we've never had and always wanted to try Chicago-style pizza, which is exactly what we ordered. OMG is all I can say. It was awesome!!! One pizza is definitely enough for 2-3 people. We also took home dessert but haven't cut into yet. Claudia was our server. She was really great. She stayed at our table and answered a few questions even though the place was busy. There was a line out the door not long after we arrived. The place is family-friendly and a bit loud, but it was well worth it. I would consider it a local hotspot that we were lucky to hear about. I highly recommend!

First time ever trying deep dish, and oh boy this was so good. Split one between 2 adults, had sausage and pepperoni. This is an amazing pizza place, very nice waiter. And they have Dr. Pepper here.

I had the stromboli and dirty fries. My stromboli was a bit overdone, as you can see in the picture. However that is not the norm for Carmines. Usually my food is perfectly fine. This was my first time ordering my food TO GO. I made the mistake of not looking at my food before I left. The waitress handed my food to me boxed and tied up in the bag. I'm accustomed to the food being prepared perfectly fine and It didn't occur to me to check it before I left. I can recommend Carmines, just check your TO GO food before you leave to make sure it's not over cooked. The fries however were very tasty, and NOT overly done. They serve dessert as well. I haven't tried the cakes or cup cakes as of yet.

This is seriously some top-notch pizza. Let me start by saying that their pizza is worth the hype and is probably my favorite in Jax. The service is great, pizzas made to order, and is really good. I only gave them 4 stars because they were out of nearly every beer we asked for. Not entirely their fault, but it detracted from the experience. The other docking in their rating was the ham cubes in their Home on the Range deep dish weren’t very good. The pizza was, but the ham and sausage in there weren’t.

  • 5/5 Nathanel J. 8 months ago on Google
My sister said "if you're coming to Jacksonville you have to try this place out" and she did not disappoint with the recommendation. Pizza slices as big as my face? Calzones as big as my head? Wings so bomb they make you forget your entre? and to put a cherry on top with draft beers? enough said. I love it here. also ... S/o to Phinehas. by far the coolest server. made sure we were taken care of. from recommendations to to-go cups. He had our backs. Inside, it felt like a true local spot. Felt like the people and staff here were all like my next door neighbors.
