Please read this before booking here! Be advised that the website and reviews for this hotel are NOT accurate. (Some of the 5 star reviews are for their bars, weddings, or brunch, not for the hotel.) Also, the website is deceptive. It states that the hotel has a “sophisticated culture” and is “refined,” so we booked a couples’ weekend getaway. But they knowingly hosted a gigantic party, where they let drunk kids leave the bar and run all over the floor where people were trying to sleep until past 3am. They did nothing to try to quiet them, even though they knew it was extremely loud. It was exceedingly frustrating because it was intentionally deceptive. When you pay to stay at a hotel, you are basically paying to sleep. In addition, there was sand in our bed when we arrived, so the sheets clearly hadn’t been changed. There was also sand all over the floor. We asked if it could be swept, and they said of course, but it never was. Despite all of this, we were only refunded for one of our two nights there. I would never recommend that anyone stay at this hotel. If you book this hotel, please know that they have no respect for you, your money, or your time.

I debated not posting this but I don’t want another bride to be disappointed like I was. 90% of all that went wrong at my wedding was due to this venue and the horrible coordination. Upon my arrival for set up they had a team of landscapers show up at the exact same time telling myself and my guests that we needed to move our vehicles and everything so they could begin work. The whole entrance of the venue looked like a construction site and was incredibly loud The majority of the day my venue coordinator was MIA. She didn’t reach out to me at all and I spent a ton of time trying to find her because you could NEVER REACH HER. They didn’t follow the itinerary whatsoever. They never set up my reception outside so my DJ and dance floor were crammed inside with the dinner tables and there was no room. They never set up my desert table with all the cupcake towers that I purchased and gave my coordinator and they also were never to be found afterwards I was downstairs with my nieces moving tables around and setting things up while the coordinator was goofing off with other employees. When they brought us our dinner plates they piled everything on top of the other thing so it was just like a pile of random food I had several guests tell me later that the food was cold and not very good. The rooms were dirty and crowded. This place truly made my wedding so incredibly stressful. They did not do any of the things they claimed they would. A HUGE disappointment. DO NOT BOOK YOUR WEDDING HERE trust me you will regret it

Literally the most comfortable hotel I have ever been too. And I've been too a lot of hotels. Feels like your home. Nice beach view. Great breakfast. Breakfast was cold and hot foods. Private room with a door, great for privacy when you have kids. They have everything. I was so at peace and it's such a zen vibe Friendly staff. Definitely worth EVERY PENNY!! highly recommended. If I could give it 1000 stars I would.

When I booked this room online, I was extremely excited because I thought the rooms looked the same. But they aren't the same. I do honestly like the that it has character, and gives it a historic feeling being inside. Honestly, the breakfast wasn't bad at all. The staff was very wonderful to me. But the only downside is the parking.

Beautiful hotel on the beach. Staff was nice and accommodating. Free Breakfast in the morning was delicious. It was especially nice to eat it outside on the patio. Rooms were slightly dated but comfortable, especially the bed. We stayed over the weekend so there were weddings and other events going on in the courtyard every day and night with music so it was loud, some nights as late as 11pm. Overall, we enjoyed our stay there.

I visited over the weekend and just loved this hotel! It's historic and so charming. The room was clean, large and cool. The lounge was fantastic with great views and martini's. Free breakfast was nice and very convenient. As other reviewers stated, you can hear most everything in the halls, but it was never too late or early to bother me. The free parking was off site, very close by and not an issue. The biggest issue for me and the reason for 4 stars instead of 5 was the mattress. It was super lumpy and my hip is still suffering from the two nights spent on it. I'd love to know that all rooms have new bedding without lumps before I return, and I do plan to return!

I feel like it's a hit or miss with this location. Good vibes on the rooftop, but the last few times I've been, it's been practically empty, so beyond having a great view of the water, there isn't much else happening. And yes, you have to go inside if u want to get a drink or listen to music. And I'd caution anyone who has trouble with steers. Bit of a climb, but the trade-off is worth it if you are able!

Absolutely gorgeous historic hotel! Great rooftop bar inside and outside. Fantastic views! Big thank you to Dian for talking to me about the history behind the hotel. And answering my questions.

I usually don't write too many reviews unless something really stands out above the norm. I went to an event today at the patio bar section of the hotel. Tending bar was a gentleman named Erik. He was so welcoming and outgoing and had the patience of a Saint as I watched some people ordering drinks but weren't quite sure what they were called. He had them explain and describe them for him, and he made exactly what they wanted. This was customer service above and beyond standard. I have lived in NYC most of my life and have been to some of the busiest and most famous bars and clubs. Erik can keep up and out perform any bartenders in these places. I like to see the right thing done when an employee shines, and hopefully, a manager or owner sees this and gives Erik the praise he deserves. Thank you, Erik, for making our night a fabulous one. We had an absolute BLAST at our stay at! It is central to everything in Jacksonville Beach and even has an amazing restaurant/bar on the top of the hotel that is fantastic! Staff was friendly and room was absolutely perfect! P.S the breakfast is absolutely amazing! Will definitely be back as soon as I can!

This hotel exceeded my expectations . I thought I would encounter at least one issue from the bad reviews I had read yet I did not! My room was beautiful and clean with a great view ! The bed and sofa bed were comfortable and clean! The a/c kept the room as cold as we liked very easily and the hot water was quick and endless !! The hotel is so beautiful and unique and really is kept up nicely for its age. The staff was welcoming and accommodating for our two night stay. We didn't want to leave and can't wait to come back !!

BRIDES BEWARE! Please take a minute and read the reviews...we didn't and wish we would've. Although the general manager acted completely shocked to hear our very long list of complaints and actually lied and said he could assure us that none of this has EVER happened before...come to find out, oh it has indeed happened before and numerous times at that...you can read the reviews yourself which will state the exact same complaints as we had. First and foremost, they talk a great game in the beginning...sooo into all the details and endless promises made, etc... However fast forward to the day of and you get a completely different deal. Basically you're on your own with EVERYTHING. Every single person in this crew including the general manager and the wedding coordinator are all in their 20's or very close to it, so when you're told that they have decades of experience, you're being bold faced lied to and believe me it shows when it comes down to it. I am the bride's step mother and I ended up having to work this wedding so hard that I missed seeing her walk down the aisle, matter of fact I missed the entire ceremony and most of the reception, myself along with a few other guests who had to step up and do everything they were supposed to do and paid to do not to mention the abundance of things the wedding coordinator messed up that we were left to fix. Head count way off, over 20 guests left to stand during the ceremony, several 12-top tables were not set up for the reception, delaying it by an hour leaving everyone waiting outside. Seating chart, royally messed up as well...all of which was provided to the wedding coordinator way ahead of time that she later lied about not receiving. The rooftop bar was not cleared which resulted in drunk onlookers gawking and yelling down at the guests. The public outside area was never cleared like they promised so there's lots of heavy set bikinis in the background photos. Cocktail hour was never set up. The bride's dress had a clasp come off right as she was too walk down the aisle and they brought up a stapler to resolve the issue! Not one sewing kit in this entire place! Really I could go on and on abbot everything that went wrong but the worst part of it all is how the staff treats everyone. The only thing I can compare it to is, it's like dealing with a bunch of reality TV show entitled rich kids who enjoy talking down to people and hate to work. I couldn't make this stuff up if I tried!

Location is perfect for us. Beachfront and sunrise are just right there. The staff were nice, I misplaced my sunglasses and they kept it in their lost and found. For the rooms, bed is fine, maybe one more pillow for a deluxe room is better (we had 3). AC works good. Bathroom, it could have been better if they have more hooks to hang on things/clothes. Breakfast was really good. They dont have pool but if you're really just want to chill by the beach this can be a perfect place to stay.

Overnight stay at Jacksonville Beach, the Casa Marina Hotel is a historical building located right on the beach, unfortunately showing its age. It is a beautiful building, however I have never been told we couldn't open the windows because the salt air will cause damage. Also had an issue with their plumbing almost no water pressure in the shower and woke up to zero hot water. Upon calling the front desk the hot water issue was fixed. The rooftop bar was nice but very limited spaced.

The most charming of spaces....if you can find in the middle of the ugly Daytona-like high rises, you will be delighted with this fancy, old Florida (Spanish) hotel. Sitting on the beautiful patio with a lavish (albeit self-serve) breakfast....helped by a smiling, warm staff...this is wonderful. I have come here for decades for the delicious Sunday brunch and top floor tiny bar....but staying here was even better. Highly recommend. My room was not oceanfront (less expensive) but still very nice.

We will not be coming back here. It’s very much a wedding venue, and it’s great for that. But as far as staying here, I would never recommend it. The hotel was so loud we could hardly sleep. The club that’s on the third floor of the building plays blaring music late into the night, making it impossible to fall asleep especially if you’re on the second floor. There was a wedding 3/3 of the nights we stayed there, and people just run and yell through the hallways all night long. The hot water took 10 minutes to warm up in the shower. There were wrappers from previous people in the dresser of the room. There were no doors on the closet. There was a large gap in the frame of the main doorway of the room, where light would just flood through. The only thing we liked was the bed and that it was comfortable. Other than that, it was hard to be positive about this “hotel”

A hidden gem in the Jacksonville beach area. This hotel is very quaint and beautifully restored. From the moment you enter the front door you are met with a smile and the front desk staff are absolutely the best I have come across in a long time. Our room was so perfect and very clean. If I could give it 10 stars I would. It's just that nice. I didn't want to leave, we will be back again soon,we love it that much.

Wife and I stayed here. Wife thought she was booking a quite romantic spot for our anniversary. She was aware there was a lounge on site that stayed open late but typically in these spots, there isn’t too much of an issue. Not so here. We arrived and there was an extremely loud high school reunion going on. We were promised the noise would be over very soon. We were told not to open our windows in the room because the windows might fall out due to the fact that they were new windows in an old building. The noise from the reunion stopped around 11pm but was replaced by the loud music from the nightclub one floor up. It’s not an upscale lounge as is advertised. It is a nightclub that goes until 2 am on the weekends. The walls are thin, drunk people were knocking on our door, and it was almost impossible to sleep. When we inquired at the front desk, they were confused as to why we were having problems. And said we could use some ear plugs which they gave me. I again want to reiterate that we knew there was a lounge on site but the website really doesn’t do a good job of explaining how it dominates the entire hotel. This place is cute but it’s not big enough to be a event space and a hotel. It needs to be one or the other. Not both. I had a hard time sleeping also because something in the room clogged up my nose. I couldn’t breathe until after we left. After we left, I could breathe no problem. Overall this was a very disappointing stay and we will not be back.

My wife Hannah I just got married here last week. We cannot express our gratitude for the staff all around the hotel, from the front desk, to the bartenders, to the rooms coordinator, to the chef, to the wedding coordinator/assistant (Virginia & Allie). We had multiple family and friends compliment on the customer service of all the staff, including how kind and generous they were, as well as going above and beyond on several occasions. They helped foster a great environment for our guests which created a very memorable weekend. Thanks so much and we can't wait to come back to celebrate our 1-year anniversary!

I’ve been to this hotel before for events, and it’s really neat inside with historical touches. My husband and I tried checking out the rooftop lounge tonight. We called and asked what the environment was like and we were told it was really casual and laid back, and that they had table service. The website describes it as an oasis. When we got there, someone had just thrown up on the top of the steps outside leading into the bar, it was crowded with college-age students like a club would be. The outside was also crowded. The tables weren’t clean, glasses were everywhere. It definitely is not how it’s described on the website. It could be a really great place if they cleaned it up and managed the crowds.

Went there to have some cocktails. The drinks were some of the most horrible drinks I have ever had. We were a group of 6, and not one drink was decent. They have a nice area with a balcony you can hang if you are looking for that breeze but it's pitch black and no service so you can get your own drink and walk there but again you can not see a thing. It's unfortunate because the location is super nice. I do not recommend this place.

This is a cool historic building with a great location on Jax beach, but it is primarily a wedding event space on weekends. Friday & Saturday, it is Super Noisy at night. Especially in the North wing, where the guest rooms are on the 2nd floor between the bar above, and restaurant/reception space below, and may face the interior courtyard, which is also a reception space. I would recommend staying midweek if you want to enjoy a good night sleep.

This place has great rooms, very good food and I especially loved the Sunday brunch. There is also bar seating on the upper level. The service was great, very tentative staff. The place appears to be kept very clean. The food was the best part of the experience!!

I stayed at the Casa Marina a few weeks ago and really enjoyed it so I came back! Both times we met Abby and she was so amazing and kind. She always had a smile and was willing to accommodate us however she could. The hotel itself is a wonderful historic hotel off the beaten path .

I can't give the room a better grade because they are very old and look like it. My son and I only stayed here in hopes that it may be haunted. Our room didn't dissappoint. Our fan in the restroom kept going on and off at night and on our last night I woke up to use the restroom around 3. When I got up I seen the restroom light turn off. I left it on in case my son needed to use the restroom i the middle of the night. My son was asleep and my brother was passed out on the couch so it wasnt either of them. It was pretty cool but I was tired so I just used the restroom and went back to sleep. I bragged to everybody that morning during breakfast.

What an amazing place. If you want to have a romantic area where you get a drink and want to chit chat with your loved one this is the place to go. It over looks the beach and if you look at the picture it is breathtaking. So whether your on a first date and want to impress your date or been together forever and wanted something intimate and romantic this is the place to go. The drinks are great I had the chocolate martini and it was yummy and strong. We will be definitely coming back for years to come. Love this place.

Went for a friend birthday brunch and it was a horrible mess. The chairs were dusty and dirty, the water glasses were dirty, it took 45 minutes to get one drink, one of the ladies sitting at my table order bottomless mimosas and only had 2 within the 2 hours we were there due to the slow service, my eggs and bacon were cold, we had to tell the server 3 times what each of ordered so he could get our checks together which took another 30+ minutes. We all ended up cashing out at the host stand because the checks were so messed up. Come to find out it was our servers first day. The restaurant should do better at being prepared for large parties and not putting inexperienced staff with such a large party with ZERO assistance. What a shame.

This place needs some tlc. Rooms are big and views are nice but it's mismatched old furniture with broken handles. They need to hire better cleaning staff. Fingernails on the counter. They weren't hard to miss. Super gross. So nothing wiped down. Dust on the ice thing and hairs on the toilet and floor. Floors were dirty. We ended up not staying the night, was paranoid I was l sleeping in sheets that haven't been washed.

Very very cool hotel. Our room (the deluxe room) was extremely comfortable and had a very unique decor to it. I took a wonderful bath there after enjoying wonderful and well priced food at the bar/restaurant. The almond nog was also slamming and the bartender was incredibly skilled and professional. The ambience takes you back to some time in the 80's. The breakfast was also exceptional. Great coffee, amazing sausages, and good yogurt. This place is truly a gem.

Great location right on the beach. Service and food were great. Room left a little to be desired. Bed was uncomfortable. Mattress sagged to the middle and wasn't level. Sleeping was difficult. Room didn't seem adequately cleaned as we found food, sunglasses and socks from previous occupants. Also, it is a venue for weddings so be prepared for noisy evening until around 10pm. Parking is somewhat of an issue as there in no on site parking. Still, it's a nice place with a great staff.

The only thing great about this spot is our waiter! The croque madame was a joke and was served on top of a ripped apart piece of cafeteria bread… the Benedict my husband ordered had one flimsy piece of bacon that came with what looks like a piece taken out of it. Don’t come here, maybe just for drinks!

Came here for brunch. Ordered a medium steak and eggs. Sent first one back since it was well. Second one came on a spectrum lol. Got everything from medium rare to well done. Server Carlos was on point though and did what he could. Kitchen manager was apparently "too busy" to address the situation with all 8 tables lol. Clear sign they are a potentially good place with management who doesn't care.

Customer service was great. Our room was super noisy and lots of light coming in, both made it very difficult to sleep. I would probably stay again depending on why I am in the area but not entirely sure. Food was very good for the breakfast and from the penthouse lounge.

Casa Marina was exactly the place we envisioned getting married. Virginia was such a pleasure to work with throughout the process. She was always professional, friendly, and easygoing. She was a calming presence and made it easy to communicate with her. She even accommodated a quirky but fun request we had. Our wedding was so beautiful and she was a big part of it. Highly recommend getting married at this venue if you are looking for a vintage, intimate venue right off the beach. We could not have imagined getting married anywhere else. One tip: I do recommend also hiring a month of coordinator to ensure your wedding day goes smoothly. I have read and heard of other brides having a lesser experience due to this missing vendor. We do not regret it one bit.

When you first walk in, it has a slight musky smell, it is a historuc building. Room is great. The rooftop terrace is great. Awesome view makes up for the initialimpressions. Great location. I would come back .

Totally horrendous because of the beds and bathrooms. Our bed was about as soft as my granite countertop. No sleep for three nights. The bar above was disruptive for any sleep. The location was beautiful. The dining venue was amazing. So, and I know that a remodel is going to happen. I pray for insulation and more water pressure for the shower. Mattresses that don't feel like a countertop. Took another hotel to get the shampoo out of my hair. This beautiful vintage hotel needs a lot of attention.

We had reservations for five, Sunday brunch. Four of us were served our breakfast and one had to wait more than 45 minutes for their meal. It was uncomfortable for our group. I don't think I will go back. Definitely will not recommend the Sunday brunch.

Our time at Casa Marina was mixed, there were good and bad experiences we would like to share. No matter what your opinion happens to be, remember CM is a Historic Hotel, you will not have modern amenities or room layouts. If you are staying at CM with a party event you will enjoy the convenience and location. Walking to the beach is simple, just make sure the back gate is unlocked or you will have to walk around the hotel for entrance/exit. Our continental breakfast was good, some type of meat (bacon or sausage), scrambled eggs, potatoes, a waffle griddle, a bowl of fresh fruit, Greek yogurt, coffee, orange juice, milk, a variety of pastries, and lemon-infused water. We struggled with the events and the roof top lounge at CM. If your room overlooks the courtyard weddings are allowed to have their event through 2200 before the party is asked to relocate. When a group moves the odds are the loud party will continue to the CM rooftop, and they will bring the tone with them. Unfortunately, the rooftop parties will not shut down until 0100, hopefully sooner. We STRUGGLED with the noise, music, and attendants as they kept us awake two out of the three nights we were here for a wedding. The hallway walls are thin so you will hear everyone’s conversations are they try to find their way back to their room. Now, specifically about room 207 where we stayed. Having an ocean view is nice if the windows were cleaned outside and did not have moisture build up inside of the glass panes. Our room has so much potential but is currently underutilized with wasted space. Adding a five-foot sitting bench under the window, replacing the left-sided nightstand with a desk with drawers (to hide the refrigerator in the seat opening), adding two end pieces within the bathroom for personal care items and extra toilet paper would all go a long way to make the room usable. Having a larger desktop to place personal bags, having a small stand to the left of the toilet (for TP) and a second stand to the left of the sink will allow a place for clean linens, which in turn will allow the guest to use the dry rack over the toilet for their wet bath towels. Yes, there are cosmetic improvements that should be made to the room as well, but starting with the layout will greatly improve a guest’s stay.

Went here yesterday 4/23/23 for a friends birthday brunch. It was about 25 people or so, They put a brand new server on our table it took him 41 mins to bring my drink over we got sat at 11am he came over greeted us and then 41 mins later my drink shows up. All the glasses on our table had dirt in them… as others started arriving it took over 30 mins before they even got their drinks, our server asked us 3 different times what we had so he could gather our checks, He should of had help with such a big party 25 people party and 1 server to assist is insane!! Especially since it was his first day they should have put an experienced server or had someone with him helping him out! Whenever we went to close out our checks that took another 20 mins and we all had to walk to the hostess stand to get closed out.. The food was just ok and room temperature we will definitely not be back here!

This is a very old, iconic hotel. It has been updated but still holds much of it's age. It is also a wedding venue. And there was a wedding the particular night we stayed there. Our room just happened to be at the top of the stairs over the wedding party. It was loud in our front room, but once we closed the bedroom door it was quieter. At a hotel I am willing to put up with the nature of the situation, but the one thing that is a must have, is a toilet that functions properly. It did not overflow, but it did not flush properly. We notified the desk but it didn't seem to us that anything was done. There was a bathroom in the lobby we could use. So they get 3 stars.

It supposed to be a stay for my birthday. It was awesome being on the beach but the hotel was not so great. The roof leaked some kind of brown stuff during the storm last night. It got all over my husband's phone and glasses. Woke up to no hot water and breakfast was terrible. I understand it is a very old hotel but for 200 + a night I thought it would be better.

My favorite restaurant near the beach, and one of the few that is actually on the beach. I love sitting on the rooftop in the evening and watching the sun go down and people enjoying the beach. It is breathtaking. Every item I have ordered has always been delicious. My friends and I love getting brunch downstairs on Sundays. The restaurant is beautiful and there are also lots of great spots for photos. Also, on the weekends they often have live music upstairs.

We went to a beautiful wedding 4 years ago at this wonderful gem of a boutique hotel and have come back often. The customer service is always wonderful. Our visit yesterday was the best! Our adult kids called the hotel to arrange sweet gifts for us in the room and at the delightful roof top bar. Diane Johnson was amazing! She listened to our kids, helped us with the perfect room, for the perfect stay. We highly recommend the lovely Casa Marina.

Such a great spot. The room was very spacious, and we had the ocean right out the window. Beautiful and worth it. Felt like being in an apartment not a hotel. So cozy and inviting! We will be back! Location is amazing also!

We stopped here for rooftop food & drinks to celebrate my husband's 76th birthday. It was a perfect evening with a great breeze on a warm night looking down on the waves running up and back out on the high tide shoreline. I could not have ordered a better nighttime experience.

Love this place!! Cocktail menu is awesome - blend of the tried and true staples plus new twists for those looking for some evolved mixology! The small bites menu is delish… love the sliders, crab cakes, blue cheese balsamic chips, and beer cheese with pretzel always winners. Brooke has taken care of us the last two times and she is lovely… Highly attentive service, Fun personality, and great tips since we just moved here. We were met by Diane at check in. She was very accommodating. Answered our questions about the area and was very informative and kind. The fresh flowers in the lobby were a nice touch. The hotel has a lot of character and great location. We will return.

I was so excited to stay at this hotel. I have previously had happy hour at the restaurant and I love historic hotels, I stay in them frequently. I also travel for work so I’m traveling 50% of my time. Check in was easy, the front desk was always great however, the room was just sad. It was empty with not just outdated furniture but old, worn furniture. It feels like how I’d imagine moving into a fixed income, furnished one bedroom apartment would feel. I wouldn’t sit on the couch. The bed I had was comfy though. No blackout curtains. The walls were incredibly thin. The people next to me kept me up all night listening to them vomit. Sounded like maybe they had a stomach bug, hope they feel better. I recommend playing white noise on your phone to drown out the sound of partying and thin walls. They don’t provide any water bottles or drinking water even upon check in. Parking was horrible. They have 2 very small lots that they share with the public so it’s unlikely you’ll get a spot during peak hours. One day i just drove around for an hour until someone left. The hot water for the shower took 20 minutes to turn even remotely warm. One morning I waited 30 minutes and it was still cold, I chalked it up to being out of hot water so I took a cold shower and by the time I was getting out, it was starting to turn warm. If you have anywhere to be, start your shower WAY earlier. I was late to a business meeting due to this. Housekeeping ignored the do not disturb sign on my door and cleaned my room anyways. It doesn’t just seem old, it’s musty and dusty. It’s just dirty feeling. At one point the hallway smelled like throw up. Stuff piled up everywhere for guests to see. Again, I stay in historic hotels all the time and this is not well kept up with. The beach access was really nice. The staff was really nice. I absolutely loved all of the bar tenders. Seriously can’t say good enough things about them. The upstairs restaurant is wonderful. But I won’t stay here again.
