Love eating here. We moved from Jacksonville, FL about 6 years ago and that was the last time we ate here. We could not wait to return. I love the gingerale. I had the salmon beets salad and it was delicious. The lamb gyro was a bit messy (not put together well), the fries are delicious but on the salty side, and the pretzel seemed a little stale but the cheese dip for the pretzel was good. I enjoyed the jerk chicken egg rolls and habanero dipping sauce which was to die for...absolutely delicious 😋!! My friend had the duck grilled cheese and he said it taste the same as he remembered...good! My four star rating was due to the salty fries, messy gyro, stale pretzel and unclean tables/chairs. Our overall experience was great!

Locally owned downtown eatery that was featured on the Travel Channels "Adam Richman's Best Sandwich in America" for their duck grilled cheese. Serving up breakfast and lunch Monday through Friday with daily specials. I hadn't been in many years and it was every bit as delicious as I remembered. If you want a unique dining spot with a view of the river, this fits the bill.

Thorough Review THE ARRIVAL When I walked in the door of Olio, I immediately felt as if I could talk loudly like a wealthy businessman, even though I am typically reserved. There was something about the atmosphere that made me feel both an overwhelming urge to pretend as if I was rich, and yet at the same time it was intimidatingly comfortable as if I was ordering a picture perfect BigMac from McDonalds. THE ORDERING I sat down at a table closest to the entrance with a view out of the window at the trendy downtown Jacksonville, Florida city area. I was lost. I didn't see any waiters or waitresses. I saw no one attending to the other patrons. I immediately assumed that this place has the worst customer service ever. And so began my journey into the "She loves me / She loves me not" relationship with Olio that ended in "She loves me." I didn't bother to read the QR code fine print instructions marching around the edge of the pasted QR Code that was haphazardly in the middle of the table. Only, when a fellow patron pointed out "You have to order on your phone" did I bother to read the instructions. I pulled out my IPhone 11, opened the camera and scanned the code. It took me to Olio's website where I could order the food online. It took me an unfortunate 10 minutes before realizing I could scan my credit card to order the Salmon Spinach Salad. She love me not. THE WAIT After ordering the Salad, I sat there playing with my phone to pass the time. In what seemed like 2 minutes (but was clearly a little longer), my food came to the table via a very pleasant waitress- or food deliverer? I mean technically a waitress waits on the table right? But I digress. She loves me. THE FOOD I peered down at the beautifully seared Salmon and just felt like I needed to gobble it down right now! I can't explain it. Apparently the chef has a fantastic sense of food appearance and desirability. Because, even though I hadn't tasted the warm Salmon floating on top a bed of lively greens with red colors intermingled, I felt as if it should be eaten as soon as possible. The taste was slightly fishy, and in my experience slightly fishy means not as fresh as possible. It was a good dish, not a great dish. She loves me not. THE SURPRISE After the Salmon Salad something strange happened... Unlike a restaurant, unlike a fast food chain, I felt very comfortable ordering more food to be brought to me like a prince. All I had to do was press the order button on my iPhone! So, as I scrolled through the menu, I pressed. I added Fish Tacos, Butternut Squash Soup, and their Grilled Cheese with duck sandwich. I ordered. The prices were so fantastic, that I had to force myself to understand that there was no way I could eat all of this. The Salmon may have been slightly fishy, but I knew quality cooking. I had hit the jackpot. I didn't think that the Butternut Squash soup was going to be that great, so I started with it. I felt fish tacos are traditionally not that spectacular either. I figured I would leave the theoretical real MVP- the Duck Grilled Cheese Sandwich for last so that I could at least end the day with a bang. As I tasted the soup, I sat stunned for at least 30 seconds. This was not at all a good soup. It was freaking brilliant!! I had never tasted anything like it! It was sweet, and rich tasting. I believe this soup has magical powers. I paused to leave the new MVP for last. I tried the Fish Taco. Suddenly the Fish Tacos disappeared as if abducted by aliens. I can't even describe the flavors that were flawlessly blended in that dish. Gordon Ramsey would have been proud- or intimidated. I can't get those Fish Tacos out of my head. I need them. The Duck Grilled Cheese sandwich was not nearly as spectacular as the tacos and soup. Had I eaten it first it would have been great. But like a decent speaker that comes after a hype man, it fell flat due to food tasting sequence. I met the chef/ owner. He was extraordinarily nice and should be very proud. Olio has the potential to be a historical landmark of Jacksonville. She loves me.

Unique, everything made on site. Some of the best American fare I have ever had at ridiculously low prices! Homemade pastrami, amazing flavors and quality. A Jacksonville must do eatery for lunch and/or breakfast

This place is strange, no wait staff. You make your order on your phone and then someone brings it to you, portions are small and food is served on a small cardboard box with plastic utensils. Food is good. Don't order the lemonade it's awful and they do not handle any cash, Card only and tip will be added automatically to your bill. A bit pricey but food comes out quickly.

Awesome restaurant with great food options. The menu and ordering is all done on your phone which is very convenient. Gerry’s spot for a quick and delicious lunch.

Our first time coming in and the food is DELICIOUS! Our group had fish tacos, the turkey dill sandwich, the potbelly pork and chicken sandwich and fries. Everything was great. Love the quaint decor. Easy access lovation. Will definitely be back!

If you are to be in the restaurant business don't inconvenience your customers! Came for lunch. 3 people are standing around and no one can take orders , had to do it on line. Only 3 tables in the restaurant. 12:20 the food was ok and the kitchen staff making sandwiches with bare hand and touching their hay, no aprons , etc. Never will come back. Good luck.

Shrimp and grits were pretty good. Disappointed that it included bacon pieces I needed to pick out since I don't eat pork. Overall tasty.

I've been patronizing Olio since they've opened. One of my favorite restaurants downtown! The lunch rush during the weekdays can get busy. However, it is worth the wait. I typically order the shrimp and avocado tacos (my fave)! The shrimp are battered and crispy. The fries are fantastic... crispy and thick cut with a super delicious garlic aioli dipping sauce. The famous duck grilled cheese is awesome, and so is the cheesesteak. You can't go wrong with the daily specials. Finding available metered parking nearby can be difficult, but again they're worth the trip.

Quick service at the desk and a fairly broad menu make this a great downtown lunch spot. The shrimp and grits were delicious, rich and creamy without being too heavy. Just right.

Tried this spot two days in a row last week. My team works out of office spot located at Level Office next door. Food was hot and fresh both times. I ordered a Caesar salad and steak sub.

Food was very good and they have unique combinations Their ginger ale is fresh and homemade but I did not care for it, personally. The fries had bbq beef brisket and cheese and were amazing! A little high priced for Cafeteria style dining
