After many years of patronizing the Chinese takeout nearest my house, it was time for a change as their quality had gone downhill. Many people recommended Chan's so we tried it a couple of times. My, what a difference! Fresher food, better sauces, MUCH better flavors, and FINALLY a Chinese rice that tastes Chinese and isn't yellow! Prices are great, quality is excellent, speed is fast and the staff is friendly. That last one is a biggie. I had become accustomed to loud, obnoxious employees but just dealt with it. No more. Chan's for the win!

Something about good mom and pop's Chinese food !! Is comfort food for the soul. I've been eating here for 10 years when they were originally in the other complex. Their new location is easy to spot and the decoration makes it feel up scale .. I ordered crispy noodles and shrimp lo mein.. my staple college food which is now my adult food of choice for quick Chinese. The noodles for the lo mein are soft and flavor of the shrimp is fresh and not too salty... The crispy noodles are as good as some other restraunts ..in California but in the end this is just quick Chinese food .. that's still amazing after 10 years ... #jaxlocalvibes

I'd take a pass on this Chinese restaurant. Some of this review is my own experience, some, with emphasis, is straight rumors. My own experience the food here isn't much beyond the frozen food Chinese section at a supermarket. Especially the shrimp egg rolls. Moo Goo Gai 🥘 Pan same thing. Supermarket. It is said that market based competition is a good thing because it fosters innovation and good customer service. I'm not sure this would apply to this location. By my count there are two other quality Chinese restaurants within a mile and a half of this exact location that both serve authentic or at least better prepared Chinese food. My last part of this review is pure rumors, rumors are never good as they often contain about 1/4 of the real truth. But I've heard the rumor that the owner of Chan's Chinese restaurant is a very successful real estate developer and strip mall owner with long term leases, like this plaza and running a Chinese restaurant is really secondary as a part of this overall business plan. ⛩️

I called ahead of time to pick up my food because I’m always waiting an extra 10-15 mins after the proposed prep time, when I was about 5 mins out I called back to ask if the food was ready and if it was still hot because I had called about 35 mins prior. The gentleman on the phone stated that it just came out and it’s hot, so I was like “great”. I called because I don’t like my food cold so I would have just canceled my order instead of showing up but he insisted it was still hot so I said ok I’m less than 5 mins away. Wen I got there I checked my food and it was cold so I was inquiring about it and told him I called ahead to check. He started to get loud and said he could just give me my money back and get rid of me. Poooorrr customer service!!! I would have just walked away with the food but he was so quick to say he could just get rid of me after my support over 4 years now.

This was my first time here as I'm never on this side of town but I can honestly say this is the absolute best Chinese food I've had in the entire city of Jacksonville! I'm so glad I decided to try it this evening, I will definitely return.

Chan's used to be excellent but this last experience was so disappointing. Absolutely everything was extremely bland. Wonton soup (bland wontons & flavorless broth), Egrolls (bland), Chicken on a stick (tough and somehow bland), Bourbon chicken (Tough with some minimal flavor), Egg Fried Rice (bland AF). The prices were within reason but if I'm throwing away more than half of the food because my kids and I don't want to keep eating it, then the cost goes up dramatically. IDK what the deal was with this experience but I would not return here again to find out. It's miles from what it used to be a couple years ago. Plenty of other options in the area to have this happen again.

I've been coming to Chans for over 20 years without incident. This particular day, they have me the wrong order which was more expensive than my original order. I went back and they allegedly credited the difference to my card. My on-line banking showed that they charged the difference. The owner caught a straight attitude when I tried to explain it stating he'll just give me the difference out his pocket to "get me out of his hair." This is your attitude with loyal customers? You'll never get another dollar from me.

If there were 0 stars that's what it would get. I see a lot of good reviews so I don't know what happened tonight. I blew my money on horrible, bland food. No taste and greasy. The Cashew Chicken was bland with tough Chicken. I don't think I have ever had tough Chicken at any Chinese Restaurant. It was all bad but the absolute worst was the LARGE Won Ton Soup. It had the bland liquid and 2 won tons!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 2!!. I want my money back!

Food is always good. I wish they would bring back inside dining. I recommend going through the entire. Everything is good. I really like the Super Lunch or Dinner. You get honey chicken, stir fry vegetables with chicken, shrimp and beef, lomein, fried rice, and 2 crab ragoon. I can eat off this meal 3 times. The portions are very generous. Shrimp egg rolls and dumplings are perfect.

I tried this place because I heard they were good from several people well..My taste buds must be different from others who think this place is good. The fried rice isn't truly fried rice not sure what it was. The vegetable egg rolls were very soggy inside. The seafood egg roll was not good either. I wouldn't recommend going here.

The bestest in Jacksonville. I saw where someone said that their chicken was a day old, and I beg to differ. My chicken is always easy to cut, juicy, and just the way I ask for it. Every time I go, I order between 20 and $30, and it is more than two meals, but I have to have it because I love it. Their sweet and sour sauce can sit in the fridge overnight and doesn't congeal like some others do. They get to where they know who you are just by your voice on the phone and will call you by name, most generally, because they are personable that way.

I'm from Texas, so I had to look for a new Chinese restaurant that I like. Guess what, I found it. They held the door open for me, entered my order as I requested. I received what I asked for and more, because it was the best Chinese food I've had since being here. They give you nice portions, it was hot, tasted great, and the sweet & sour sauce was on point too! You know how sometimes the sweet-and-sour sauce will gel up really bad, well not here. Even after being in the fridge all night it still tasted good and was still nice and runny/juicy, not all gelled up. I will definitely be eating it here every time I want Chinese now. Thank you for the great service.

Egg rolls were good. Teriyaki Chicken and regular wings were pretty good. House lo mein was ok not the best. Fried rice was mushy it was not eaten. I put in an order around 8 picked up around 15 mins later when they said it would be ready. Overall subpar at best.

Tried this place twice this week with different items both times. Food was great both times. They give a good portion of food but the price matches the portion. My new fav spot.

Now I've been to most of the Chinese places in and out of Jacksonville but this one takes the cake it's absolutely delicious and a must try if you've been disappointed in other Chinese restaurants and haven't tried this one yet!

Food is always, hot and fresh! Service is quick and efficient! Take out, only. The dining room isn't set up, yet. With these contagious times, that's understandable.

Sweet and sour chicken combo is seasoned well and tasty. I would highly recommend.

This isn’t your usual takeout restaurant! Dining area has nice tables and booths and was clean with friendly and fast service. The food was upscale quality for a low price. Most lunch specials were about $6.99 and you get a lot of food.

They have a good variety of vegetables and they are not afraid to put most of them in their egg fo young 😋😋 They are usually fast and professional. They are still not allowing dine in tho 🥴

I just stopped by a few minutes ago for dinner. They did not put any efforts towards prepping the meal. They used the cheapest rice possible. My food looks nasty and it was nasty. I myself used jasmine rice for my family because it's a better brand and it's fluffier. They simply added eggs and soy sauce in my rice not stirred fried as promised. This was a waste of my time and money. We have to do better for the consumers to stay loyal. I am highly disappointed because I had high hopes for the meal today.
