If you love💚🤍❤Mexican🇲🇽food than you have to try Salsas! Try their sampler appetizer🥙🫔🧆🌮when you go your first time. The sampler disappeared👻as soon as it was set🍱on the table so I didn't get a chance to take a📸picture😆. I ordered the biggest🌯burrito🌯 they had and I could only finish half! This is one of the best🥇Authentic🇲🇽Mexican places🛖 I've tried in🏝Jax! (Also they have outdoor seating🪑if you bring your fur🐶baby)

When we arrived the host told us that they didn’t have any booths available and she asked us what we wanted to do. Then when she took us to a table, it was wet and dirty and she told my husband this one is wet and he asked her, “Can you wipe it off?” She wiped it off with a dirty and stinky cloth. The table was stinky! When the server brought us our drinks, she spilled them on the table and brought us napkins for us to clean the mess she made. We asked for more salsa for the chips and it seems that she forgot because we had to ask again. Our food came out quick but the server forgot to bring the flour tortillas so we had to ask for them. The Choripollo we ordered was really good. The Enchiladas Mexicana was so so. We thought the mole sauce was too sweet. When the server, Gelina, brought us the ticket we had to stand up and walk towards the exit, so she would come to us because she was nowhere to be seen. Service was horrible, food was good but not too great. We would not go back.

Unfortunately everything was going really well. The food was pretty good and the service was moving along nicely. Then, we were finished with our dinner and the server just disappeared for 20 minutes. It looked like they had him working in the men’s room for some reason instead of waiting his tables. Typical, other servers are walking by us as we are staring out into the abyss of the restaurant looking for someone to come over and ask us if we needed help. No one came. Finally some poor lady came over to get our dirty dishes because our server hadn’t (they were just sitting there) done it and I asked her do you know what’s happening to our waiter can you help us so she did. We were going to order dessert until we saw the bathroom incident. Plus we figured it might take a lot more time. So we ended up getting the check and left. There’s a lot of places to eat Mexican food, service is key! Sorry guys, not a stop for us again.

I went 12:20 pm. Dead insects, food on the floor, menus dirty, angry servers, no refill of my drinks and only 5 tables were full. The food is ok. Service really bad never smile and look upset every time. cleanliness was much less than expected The menu smells like a public restroom and you can find food when you open it. I am pretty sure there are better Mexican restaurants in the city.

Terrible experience!! Our waitress was so rude! Food was dripping in grease! Once she brought our food out she didn’t come back to the table at all so we had to go to the front to get the check and pay while she had an attitude the whole time we were checking out. Wait staff was terrible!!

Love the employees, but disappointed in the cleanliness and the taste of food. The portions are not up to par with other Salsas locations and the quality is definitely not the same taste. Was really disappointed. I had the steak Milenesas which is my absolutely favorite dish that I have eaten most my life. Salsas in Daytona does it the best I've ever had. The portion there is twice what I received at this Salsas. Plus the breading was soggy, and wiping off. The steak was very thin and very small for $20. I was thinking, I could get a ribeye dinner for the same price elsewhere. It is well worth $20+ at the Daytona location. Just wish they kept the same quality. Also the guacamole was very salty.

This place was quite good. Order the fajitas and it was enough for me and my friend to share. Pitcher of Margarits surely hit the spot and app of fried Street corn was venomanal. Price was bad and atmosphere was great we actually ate outside will definitely be going back to this spot

Absolutely awful, time consuming and soul destroying service. The WORST service I have had in Jacksonville! The waitress and staff was very very rude, very slow, food took over 2 hours to receive. Not once were we checked on for refills or ever to see how we’re doing while waiting a horrendous amount of time for food & drinks. My margarita didn’t come till after we had all received food and some were done eating. I would not recommend coming here to anyone. You’ll have better service at Taco Bell.

Salsa de Hodges is a very beautiful restaurant. I loved the decorations and the overall ambiance! It really makes you feel like in a typical Mexican restaurant. The tables and chairs are pieces of art! We were welcomed with a plate of nachos and salsa, as typical in Mexican restaurant. The food was served very quickly, it was very warm and simply delicious. The drinks were also very good! The Jalapeno Margarita I had was balanced perfectly. I thought the price was a little high, but it was definitely worth for the quality o the service and the food. The food menu has several options, for vegetarians too, as well as the drink menu. I will go back to this restaurant, no doubt!

We enjoy visiting Salsa's as a family after church from time to time. The food is good - their lunch specials are valid on Sundays, which makes feeding a large family reasonable. Much of their menu is what you would expect - Americanized Mexican dishes, but with some more authentic dishes on the menu as well. The food is reliably delicious and well prepared, and service is kind, if a bit slow at times. Covid Update - 10/2020 - the staff is doing a good job keeping things clean and offering no-contact ordering options. Seating seems to have resumed to full capacity, but the tables are decently spread out.

Beautiful decorations, hand carved chairs with faces logo or places inscribed. Service was timely and friendly. Not overly crowded and I wondered why. The food was good nice portions. The meal is not cheap but it won't be in this economic climate.i recommend going and seeing for your self

Had a great meal & service ( lunch wasn't busy.) Enchilada was good ( beef & red sauce.) Hard shell was better than soft ( beef.) Service was on point:) The only thing I didn't like was the beef was REALLY greasy. Now I know it's greasy regardless but it was pouring out of each beef item, like a lot but I ate it anyway;) Recommend & can't wait to try the chicken fajitas 😁

Tasted like Mexican food. salsa was decent and service was fine. My burrito was average as could be - not bad, but nothing earth shattering. The Bar Tender was very kind.

Stopped here on a Saturday for a quick bite to eat while shopping in the same plaza. Ordered 2 tacos, street corn, sweet tea, and queso for the chips. Total for one person..... 32.23?!! Are you kidding me?!! Food isn't even authentic Mexican. And I would know as I travel frequently to Hermosillo. Highway Tobbery to charge $8 for a 1/3 cup of queso!!! Avoid this place!!!

The food is great. The super burrito is one of the best burritos I've had; and I've had many all over this hemisphere. The Margaritas are the best... when I was a bartender mine were the best; I can admit theirs are even better.

I love Mexican food. My birthday meal with my wife. Service was fast and attentive. The food……deep fried way past edible. Got the appetizer as recommended by a viewer. Big! It was so over cooked it was black and similar to a pork rind. I just hate my visit to have been the one where it wasn’t Edible. My wife couldn’t handle the quality. We loved the refried beans? I guess. Not my choice for future Mexican dining. IMO loved the lol, potential, and wait service. Just one persons opinion. Just not our day.

Used to be great, not anymore. Bagged chips when used to be cooked in house fresh, salsa straight outta a can tasting when used to be fresh. We literally walked out before ordering because of that. If they were that cheap with chips and salsa, I was way too afraid of ordering food! And on top of that, they took away the lunch menu and lunch specials! I am not spending $17-20 dollars on a lunch!!! So sad, because this was our go to for Mexican food, not anymore!!!

Make sure that there system is working right when you order online. It will be correct on your end but when you get it from them it will be something that is not even on there menu. Then!!! When they messed up your food they will send you back (even tho they didn’t tell you on the phone when you talked to them) to wherever the food that they messed up is and bring it back to them… so you are going back and forth 3 times! And then be rude when there system and salsas on Hodges are in the wrong!!!! If I could give 0 stars I would!

The restaurant was clean and the music was good. The salsa was really bland which was disappointing and the quesadilla Mexicana was not very hot some of the cheese hadn’t melted. When asking questions about the menu the server seemed to not want to answer and discouraged questions. We were here for about an hour and I was never offered a refill and when I asked for one she said ok but then I never got one. This was my first time here so I’ll give them another shot another day and hopefully the experience is much better

Our server was fantastic! Clever chairs with images of famous Mexicans - like Frida Kahlo, Cantinflas, etc. The taquitos were fine. The guacamole was turning and no one had bothered to stir the browning out. Ordered black beans instead of refried beans - the worst ever I have encountered, no flavor - awful. Bathrooms were clean.

The first thing I saw were all the custom carved and painted chairs!! All of the tables and booths are really cool to look at. The enchilada supreme was so so good. It has 1 of each: cheese, refried beans, chicken and beef. The corn tortillas were cooked to perfection. The only thing was the chicken was a little dry. The chips are warm and the salsa has the right amount of cilantro. All of the staff were professional and courteous. Definitely will come back again!!

Too high in price and not that great on the food or seasoning - service was short -$25 pizza with 2 ingredients if you don’t eat meat don’t get this item for sure! Quesadillas had less cheese and more veggies- cost $110 for a family of 4?? But if we ate meat would’ve been much cheaper- wouldn’t recommend for pescatarians trying to get seafood! Would’ve even help sub ingredients to accommodate our pizza - ingredients are not high quality- service not either

I don’t normally do a one star review but this place definitely deserved it. We walked in and were promptly seated. The waitress eventually came and asked for our drink order. They began to get more parties after we came and the atmosphere grew very loud. Its so loud in there the employees where ear pieces to communicate with each other. We asked for water and a sampler platter. They came back with that fairly quickly but we still were not ready to order. So we asked for more time. After that she avoided us for a excessively long period. Then we ordered once she came back. The food took a very long time to come out and there were only 4-5 other tables seated at the time all of which got their food first even though they arrived and ordered after us. The food finally came and the smell was good and temps were warm but not hot. The chicken and steak portions were flat like the thinest thing you could serve about the thickness of a McDonald’s kids patty. It tasted decent but that was deception. With in about 45 mins of leaving my entire family developed gastric issues requiring frequent sittings if you get my point. We eat hispanic food all the time and have never gotten sick from it, until we ate here. I do not recommend going here.

Had a great lunch with virtually no wait. I don't understand while it wasn't super busy because the food was delicious and the service was good. Maybe I got lucky and went at a low traffic day but Sunday afternoon seems like a high traffic time. This just might be a hidden gem of Jacksonville. Try them out, you won't be disappointed.

We had a great visit here and the food was excellent! (Chips weren’t my fav but that’s personal preference.) The burritos and bowls were all delicious! Staff was kind and helpful, they took good care of our group and kiddos.

Food tasted OK, but our order was very inaccurate. My daughter ordered steak which we were charged for, but were given ground beef. My husband ordered Corona Premier on tap, but was given a bottle of regular Corona. I ordered a virgin margarita, which was very watery. I also asked for a glass of water, but it was never brought. We were a party of 6 and brought one basket of chips and salsa to share (everyone couldn’t even reach); they did bring another but we had to ask. Staff were nice, but there did seem to be some communication issues.

Ordered 4 meals, they brought out 3 meals, I waited 20 minutes and tried getting the managers attention where he proceeded to WAVE back at me and continue what he was doing. I didn't get the food I ordered at all and was told it wasn't even rang into the kitchen and when I was brought a "comped 50%" receipt I was charged for 3 other things (including a margarita, im 6 months pregnant) totaling $36. Overall HORRIBLE experience. 0/5 recommend going at the lunch hour.

Don’t get the barria from here. No taste and the quality was awful I didn’t even eat it. The consome had no flavor either it really just tasted like butter. The staff didn’t even acknowledge me about the food. They showed they could care less. Just don’t even waste your time coming here.
