I had a meeting in downtown Jacksonville. We were hungry, so we found this little deli. I had my doubts. We walked in and immediately we got a warm and friendly welcome by Gilbert - the owner. Our six lunches were prepared amazingly fast. My colleague said it was the BEST spinach salad he has EVER eaten and compliments from him are rare. Bottom line: Great little understated restaurant. I like nice people.

You from New York? You're gonna love this place, it's just like a Bodega except better bc it's downtown Jax. I love how the owners are in the kitchen and attend to the counter at the same time. I ordered the pastrami on an everything bagel, didn't leave one crumb on the plate, sheer perfection. This place is a gem, alittle pricey but what isn't these days... Amirite? If you're not from NY but want a taste of authentic fuel for the people in the city that never sleeps, you'd be hard pressed to find a better spot. 5/5 recommended.

Had a few minutes while attending a performance and stopped in here in a pinch. Very cool, laid back people, friendly, and polite. The food was delicious and reasonably priced considering the portion sizes. I saw some other dishes they prepared and it looked amazing! I'll be going back and encourage you to check this place out and support a local family and business.

First time going today after coming across it on Instagram and the pictures didn't lie at all! Adding this to my favorite go to places in town. Best pastrami I've had in Jacksonville.

Food was FANTASTIC and the location is convenient to downtown. Will definitely return for the food alone. Easy walk if you're staying at the Hyatt too. Interior decor has a mural on one wall and a view of the street. There is also a little bit of outdoor seating. Only real meh was feeling confused on ordering/paying. We walked in, looked at menu, & waited at the counter. Eventually we said we're ready to order & the two people in the kitchen behind the menu said to just tell them, then they said alright it'll be right out to you. As far as paying it was we just eventually went back up to the counter & asked about paying. We had no idea what the total was until we were done eating & went up to ask about paying. The restroom is also a bit confusing because it's a shared bathroom of the building the deli is in. The bathroom was nice/clean. Just a bit confusing to get to and then finding out we needed a key to get in it. Coming back from the bathroom, there is no sign on the door to indicate which door takes you back to the deli. No big deal I'm sure if you're a local/regular, but confusing for someone stopping in for the first time.

You can not beat the hospitality that you receive from the moment you walk through the doors to the moment you walk out the doors. Hands down, my favorite breakfast or lunch spot in Downtown Jacksonville, with the beautiful St. John's River right across the street. This is simply the perfect place to spend your time and money of some phenomenal food.

Best place to go down town for some Greek gyros, wraps, sandwiches, hummus. They have a wide variety of menu offerings from breakfast and lunch. Located on Bay St with a nice view of the river if you want outside. Act like a local and order correctly. Order your food, sides, and drinks first. Eat. Go back to the counter to pay when you are done. The food is great! You won't be disappointed. It does get busy at lunch.

I ordered shrimp and veggies. For $17, I got 4 shrimps and a few very burnt veggies on full of rice. It was very disappointing and tasted so-so.

I used to get chemotherapy at a hospital just across the river from the deli and in between getting my labs done and actually sitting down for my infusions I was able to eat and I always wanted to eat a club sandwich from D&G. I can't tell you how many times I savored their baklava to help keep me from being nauseous. One time my bf even carried me in (at that point I was in a wheelchair) and everyone was so helpful getting us to a table and getting me sitting. I really enjoy going back now as a cancer survivor, their food is awesome and so are the people!

Went at 2:30pm (they close at 3) and wanted to order a breakfast sandwich but they said they are not doing it anymore (even though the board said “all day breakfast” so the gentleman offered turkey, grilled chicken, or pastrami. I asked if the grilled chicken sandwich is a hot sub which he said it was. I stayed at the hotel literally across the street and ate the food within 3 mins of taking it out but it was cold and they didn’t even melt the cheese. Way below average sandwich with no taste. Sometimes you have to be willing to go the extra mile to satisfy customers. They could’ve at least warmed up the chicken so that the cheese would’ve melted and tasted better.

First time and Very poor experience. I was next in line but the person taking orders which I’m assuming is the owner didn’t even greet me. He greeted every white person in there and held a conversation with the people behind me instead of showing any interest in me placing an order when it became my turn. Didn’t ask for any special accommodations for my order nor did I have a chance to because again he was more concerned of the white customers and what they wanted. Horrible experience and prices are too high.

I do occasionally come to enjoy my lunch and beverages here. Occasionally because the quality of the food is worth the price you pay to eat here. I know inflation is a $@&$. The restaurant is very clean and comfortable enough to stay and enjoy your meal, it's worth your money!!!!

This was not worth $17.60, nor was it a representation of a sandwich from a New York Deli. When you place an order for pick-up and the person handling it hurries you, this is what occurs. I didn't want fries, I'm pretty upset since I paid $20 for a meal that I had to rip apart because there wasn't enough meat in my sandwich and I was given some strange bread that everyone knows should be on "Rye bread." I was better off at McDonalds smh I posted a picture of the bull*** I ordered next to a “genuine” New York pastrami sandwich.

I ordered a catered lunch for 22 people and it was an absolute hit! The pitas, Greek salad, and chicken were all very fresh and delicious. The owners couldn't have been more kind and helpful. 10/10 will order again.

Very pleasant place to visit. We enjoyed the service and people who provided it. The food choices were excellent. We visited three straight days, breakfast, brunch, and lunch consecutively. We recommended D&G Deli and Grill repeatedly to our friends, and they recommended it to their friends. We recommend this spot to you. You've got to try the Corned Beef and Fryed Egg Bagel.

Great food, service and close to work in downtown Jacksonville Florida. Things add up pretty fast here, so check the prices before you order. The Owner/Employees are very nice. We loved everything except for the onion rings. I’ve been here several times. Food is very good. When you order a 1/2lb burger, ask to have it cut in half and share it with someone.

There is absolutely NOTHING in their menu that doesn't taste amazing. Me and my coworker work in the Blackstone building and we literally have printed out their menu, and we will highlight what ever we ordered so we can always try something new. The menu is almost all highlighted and we LOVE everything. We always spend at least 20 minutes debating on what to get because we love everything. The costumer service is AMAZING, you definably do not get this type of customer service anymore in the food industry. They are very kind. You can tell they love what they do and it shows in the food 100%. All of their sauces are sooooooooo good omg. If you love salmon you NEED to try the Jaguar Fast-Break Sandwich, You literally want to lick the sauce. Thank you guys for being so great and making the best food ever!!! We are very lucky to have you guys here !

My wife and I stopped for lunch on our way to Daytona Beach. My wife doesn’t usually go for wraps and things, but this place was amazing and the owner is a Michigander just like us. If we are ever in the area again we will be stopping in for lunch again. The food was amazing and the owner was very helpful.

Great food and vibe. Not many delis in Florida that cook fresh food in front of you and have a full deli menu. Prices are competitive. Nd the service is great. They can get pretty busy at times which makes parking hard but the staff handle it well. Def my best deli experience in Jacksonville.

D & G has quickly become a go-to regular spot since moving to Jacksonville a few months ago. I’m always welcomed with a smile when I come in and it’s always quick! The food is usually ready in less than 5 minutes. The restaurant is always clean and the food Is always tasty. That’s what keeps me coming back!

You have to enjoy to believe! Pick any given event and you see lines extending out the door with people (usually repeat customers mixed with out of town visitors) waiting patiently to order. Their expertise is all things “deli” with an Albanian twist. They buy the ingredients fresh daily and spend the time and effort to provide a quality meal at a fair price. I’m a huge fan and wanted to ost this review as the Notre Dame/USC bowl game is on and the lines are a block long just to order. Give them a try. You won’t be disappointed!

I came during a large lunch rush. It seem like the person taking my order and also the owner was stressed and overwhelmed. He started to taking my order and in the middle of taking the order he started to help another customer. When I tried to inform him I have not finished placing my order he became agitated with me. He stated that I need to look behind me and see there was a bunch of people waiting. So I waited for him to come back to take the rest of order when he told me my food was up. I try to explain to him again I wanted to order more food. He became more agitated with me. The customer service was not very professional nor friendly. Now on the positive side of it was the food was fresh and tasted decent.

Ordered the avocado omelette but asked if it could be in a wrap and they made it happen. Best breakfast wrap I’ve ever had. A little messy so don’t eat in your work shirt. This is the second time I’ve been here with my family and we’ve been impressed both times so far. Looking forward to the next time. Had a very NY feel. 😍

Tried this place for the first time after working nearby for a few months. I wish I had been sooner! It is a hidden gem, they don’t don it like this anymore! Their food is great and big portion sizes. Will definitely be making this my new go-to lunch spot!

Simply put, the environment was amazing! If a description of the vibes were needed it would go a little something like this…. You know that welcoming uncle that cooks good and can solve ANY problem. We’ll this is his kitchen! We love the fact that the food is served on decorative plates.

Bellhop at the Regency (Bobby) recommended this place for breakfast. This was the best NY style bagel I've had outside of NY! I had sausage, egg, and cheese on a bagel and a crushed lemonade. I was only able to eat half of the bagel and when I went to eat the other half hours later the bagel was still super soft and chewy! Def plan on going back for lunch.

Awesome restaurant!! My husband and I stopped in today for a bite to eat during a break from walking the river walk. I noticed the restaurant a couple nights before during one of our walks and thought to myself “they probably have good food”. My hunch was right! I had the almond rice pilaf, and my husband had the jaguar fast break 🤤🤤 Both dishes were excellent and we ate each other’s food lol! We had mozzarella sticks as well and the marinara sauce did a dance in my mouth, it was spicy 🤣🤣. The owner noticed I was enjoying my food and gave me a head nod, he even fist bumped me when I returned an unopened salad dressing I had; it was too good to waste 🤣🤷🏾‍♀️ Overall we were pleasantly surprised and we will definitely be back!! ♥️
