5 stars based on the food and TJ our waiter. Waited 45 min to be seated, but we were able to go to the bar and wait. After seated, our server TJ got our drink order and food order and it all came in 15 minutes. Food was fantastic, server great, and a good experience. $$ This is the best Joe's we gave eaten at in Florida.

First time visiting Jacksonville Beach, Florida, on our last night there. we had dinner at Joe's crab shack. We were greeted with a smile, told it would be an hour wait, but we were seated way before that. Our awesome server was Jonathan. It was an extremely busy night, but it did not stop him from being so nice and on point with our order. He explained the questions we had about the menu and made some suggestions. He made sure to keep coming back to our table and check on us before the food arrived. As busy as it was, I watched him take care of everyone he served with a smile and professionalism. It's nice to see that kind of service in extremely busy environments. Every single plate we ordered was very delicious, kudos to everyone that was part of our experience, including the chef, my grandchild who is 11 asked Jonathan to let the chef know his plate was very delicious he did a great job. By the way, it was my 9 - and 11 year old grandchildren first experience trying out crab legs, and they loved it. Keep up your great work, Jonathan.

Splendid environment! Great food! Our food was fresh and not bad on the budget. The decor is awesome. The place was clean and inviting. Our server was wonderful. Its a great location with a phenomenal view of the ocean. Its beach front so it's easy access when youre on the beach having fun. We enjoyed ourselves immensely and plan to go again. The shark nibble is really cool if you have children. I highly recommend this place for a bite to eat to everyone who visits!

The kitchen staff👩‍🍳🧑‍🍳was kind😄👍enough to cook♨️us up a delightful main🍽entrée called, The Steamer.(for 2) It had tons of mussels🥘, clams, and🦐shrimp along with potatoes🥔& fresh🌽corn. If your down by the beach🏝🏖and craving seafood🦀🍤🦞🍚🦐🦑then check this restraunt🐬🐠🦈🐟🐡out.

We came by on a Saturday afternoon early for lunch. We were seated well before the quoted 90 minute wait time, and didn't feel rushed in any way. Despite being short staffed, our waiter was on the ball. We got drinks, appetizers, and our entrees came promptly and without a hitch. I recommend Joe's as a local institution. It's right on the beach and has a decent amount of free parking. It's a great place to have a great time!

It was easy to get a table for lunch. I felt like it didn't take long to receive our orders. I enjoyed my meal platter of crab, fish, and shrimp. My food was delicious.

This was my first time at this location and let me tell you. The food was absolutely horrible. It was my twin niece and nephew birthday I hate that there were so many issues with our food. Our appetizer( calamari, pictured) was cold and you could tell had been sitting. My mother returned her entrée once to be corrected and the next time it was worse it was returned and taken off the order. My older niece barely touch anything on her plate and returned it. The shrimp was not devained on my twin niece shrimp and the sausage was not even cut up. Just a whole sausage. Give me a piece of white bread and that sausage and I could have had a better meal that the one served to me and my family. My shrimp that was supposed to be peeled and butterflied was cold and some weren’t even peeled. There was NO SEASONING or real flavor on the crab legs. The server we had was good but the food was a 0 out of 10. And to top it off the building wasn’t even packed out. Shame and a sham in my opinion.

Food and drinks were quick and delicious. Waiter was very nice. The portion sizes were very fair for the price, definitely had enough for left overs later. Can’t beat sitting by the beach with some good drinks and food. Overall, had a really great experience.

Went with a group of 3 for Sunday lunch. Assumed it would be busy, but probably due to the colder weather, there was no wait, and we were seated right away. Lucas was our server, and he was the best. Super friendly and helpful. He checked on us frequently without being overbearing, seemed to really enjoy working there, which was clear in the way he assisted us. And yes, the food was delicious too. My only concern was with parking. There's a parking lot across the street specifically for diners. However there was a gentleman out there, who placed cones by the entry and was charging $20 for parking and somewhat aggressive in nature. When we pulled up, 4 cones were there and we assumed we couldn't use the space. When we couldn't find anywhere else to park, we came back around and he was like $20 if u wanna park and only when we specifically told him we were going to the restaurant, did he let us park. May need to address this, but that aside, loved it. Oh, btw, their outside seating area is under construction so only option is to sit at the bar, if you want to be outside.

The hostess was sweet and brought me ice for my foot that I had twisted walking to the restaurant. The waiter was very nice and plenty patient with us. We were a bit indecisive and needed extra time ordering our drinks. I was a bit disappointed that I couldn’t get double fries instead of coleslaw as a normal. But it worked out because they were out of coleslaw and I ended up with some extra fries. We Had the captains plate. It was super tasty. Perfect temperature. Enough food for us to share. We’ve decided that it is going to be our go to meal. We had chocolate cake for dessert. So much chocolate you feel naughty, but so yummy. They got the staff together and sang me happy birthday! Applause for making my birthday great! We can hardly wait to eat there again!

Thomas was our server, anyone who comes in should ask for him. He is the absolute best, amazing energy, great recommendations on everything, knowledgeable, and so funny. He took such great care of us and made my childhood favorite restaurant such a fun experience. If we visit Florida again, will come back. The king crab is amazing, we had old bay spice on it. But if you like spice Thomas recommend cajun. The shrimp and crab dig was also very good(another recommendation from Thomas). We sat outside and the view was amazing!

ONLY THING WAS GOOD WAS THE FISH!!! Fries was cold! Rice wasn’t seasoned! Salmon was burnt! Flounder was burnt! Then, when you ask for manager he has an attitude 😷! Bathroom was filthy! Toilets don’t work!

I had dinner for my birthday here a couple of years ago and was sorely disappointed when I returned this year. Of 3 appetizers we ordered, only one was available and the garlic toast was hard. It took forever. And the meal was just sad. Basic fish, plain rice, and a small scoop of broccoli. The best thing about the night was the sunset on the beach. And of course you can never complain about good company.

The dungeoness crab was smaller than expected and not hot when it arrived, however it was tasty. The shrimp did not have much flavor. Upon arriving, the hostess told us we could wait for our table outside on the deck, but as we sat out there, the bar worker questioned us as to why we were there without ordering. Apparently, they had an internal issue of what they tell patrons, but it was not OUR problem.

Was asked by the Owner to leave a more detailed message at the LANDRY Web site...did so but what could be more detailed than my very negative review....👎 There's three warning signs when you pull up to a Seafood Restaurant right on the beach on a warm sunny Friday evening. Plenty of parking... plenty of seating...NO LEMON'S 🍋!!! We ignored the signs and paid for it. Parking is not an issue as was the seating and the service of first day on the job Elly was outstanding and she was the only 5 ⭐. Ordered Unsweetened Tea...no lemon, Bill ordered Vodka...no lemon...HAY MANAGER send someone to Costco or Walmart to pick some up! Ordered the Crab Stuffed Mushrooms as an appetizer... remember Clara Peller yelling "Where's the Beef??" Well where's the Crab 🦀. Tried three of the five and sent it back as the stuffing was 90% bread crumbs. I ordered the mussels, shrimp, clam potatoes and corn came out dry with paprika sprinkled all over the place an unappealing 3 ⭐. Bill ordered a seafood mixture OMG it was terrible Stuffed Crab was again Bread crumbs, fried fish was oily and bland and fries 🍟 were cool and soggy so 0 ⭐ and sent back. Asked for the manager who tried to explain that all stuffing has some filling... come on man, this isn't my first meal in a Seafood Restaurant. Offered Bill another choice but he decided against going 0 for 3 and didn't have dinner. Look, this is a great location with great views and nice people that work there but unless the manager starts to taste the food will find more low reviews. Let me also add a couple with a family sat by us and in a non busy place was waiting for service and getting ready to leave but we called over Elly and asked her to please find the server for this section and table... another 0 ⭐.

Came to Joes for lunch with coworkers. The service was a little slow for the amount of other tables in the restaurant (1 inside and maybe 1 or 2 outside). The food was ok but the drinks were great. I would recommend coming here to grab some drinks and an appetizer at the bar or if you wanted to sit outside close to the beach.

Picked up an order tonight after driving 12 hours.. No butter for a crab boil, drink is missing, food is cold and it came from next door, shrimp burnt on platter and gave marinara sauce instead of cocktail sauce lol! Worst experience ever! Too expensive to not have food properly prepared and correctly!

Great atmosphere, great drinks and food, and most of all: great service. It was our first restaurant visit in Jacksonville, FL, and we couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Nick was our waiter and he was very attentive and professional. My wife and I had a memorable time.

When I was in Jacksonville last week, I dined here for dinner one night. The food was good, loads of different options, so there is something for everyone. The quality and quantity were great too, especially for the price. The service was okay, as it took a while for our drinks to come out, same with our water. Atmosphere was meh, mainly due to the weather as it was cold and windy, so nothing the restaurant could have done. They have an outdoor area. I would recommend dining outdoors on the water when weather permits, as it's a great view. Overall, it was a good experience, good for a causal fun night.

Food was delicious… unfortunately our server, Z, was too busy to greet us for about 10 minutes when she said she would be right with us, she came back about 5 minutes later when we were already desperate to order and then wasn’t able to get our drinks out for another 10 minutes after greeting. Our food tasted great, but she didn’t check on us after food delivery until we were done eating and had empty drinks for 10+ minutes. We would go again, but definitely ask to be seated with a different server

Nice view. Drinks and food could be better. The food was cold and the drinks weren’t cold. We asked to be seated outside but weren’t allowed to but then later saw guests being seated outside after us. Unfortunately, the restaurant isn’t the same experience since I visited a couple years ago.

We came to jacksonville for a short holiday and ended up at Joe's for Brunch our first morning. Its a lovely place with a lot of atmosphere, what really made our morning was Lindsey. She was out bartender and was so nice, not only was service fast and kind she also provided us with a list of activities in the area to do during the day. She honestly made our experience. We came back the same day in the evening because of the postive experience with Lindsey, she was off work but we met Alfred. Also a delight. Summary: Restaurant and bar worth visiting, if not just for their amazing staff!!!

Have been before for drinks... This time for dinner. Fish tacos were good, shrimp were all over cooked. Nice view of the ocean. Wonderful place on a nice day.

We have dinned at several Joe’s Crab Shack’s BUT this one by far was the worst. Can only say this for what we ordered.. My mushrooms tasted as if they were a boxed frozen dish as they were not warmed all they way- the mushrooms were icy cold and the cheese was not melted- the crab tasted old- as far as the Blackened Mahi - it didn’t really have flavor. The service was slow and was not attentive. The waiter also didn’t give us the correct change back… so we just deducted it from the tip. We left very unsatisfied

Shrimp was really good, both the plain and the coconut. The pineapple and plum sauce was gross and smelt gross, would’ve been better left off the plate. Fish was fresh and had good flavor. Chill and relaxed spot, fairly priced, nice staff as-well.

Server forgot my meal. Didn't bring salad with appetizers but was ok with that but once my meal went m.i.a. I just can't NOT say anything. Hoping it's not a trend because server forgot my meal in Tampa. I'm an ex F&B person and tend to be very forgiving but........... 😐 The food was hot, good and fresh. Bartender Alfred was great!
