The only reason for a 4 star instead of 5 was because we waited for over an hour to get seated and the young man that was the seating host was less than enthusiastic about helping us or giving us updates on our seating turn. We ended up sitting at the bar and the staff there was definitely more approachable and accommodating. We ordered our food at the bar but a gentleman… I believe he was one of the Managers, came up right before we got our food and asked us if we preferred a table and immediately sat us at one. He made sure that whatever we needed we got. Loved it! The food… my goodness! A Colombian dream feast! We shared a platter that was everything it promised and more! The drinks were amazing and the ambiance felt like a comfy visit home. The servings were more than enough and then some and worth re-experiencing the next day. This will definitely make my list of places to revisit the next time I’m in town.

I can't believe we have been missing out on this gem of a restaurant! We visited for the first time tonight (01/21/22) and are so mad at ourselves for not visiting sooner. The service was nothing short of amazing, food was perfectly grilled, prices are good and atmosphere pleasant. We had empanadas as an appetizer, beer, two steak and onion dinners, a dessert and with a generous tip still only spent $70. This is definitely going to be our newest favorite restaurant to visit in Mandarin!

Ok this place is not an everyday place for this girl but my goodness when I go I am so very happy! Not even sure where to begin.. sat down to mint infused water.. ordered the wine based pina colada and it was so satisfying. Went with a larger group and everyone ordered different things. Not a disappointment on the food at all! I decided on the Salento Combination and every bite was just wonderful. Service was spot on.. they make you feel like family and the atmosphere is so warm and inviting. Would never know it was in an older strip mall on Old St. Augustine Road! Meat sweats were had by all in the end!

Salento Steakhouse delivered a great experience for our party of 2. Steaks were a great cut and cooked perfectly. While the outside may look different from the typical nice restaurant, it did not disappoint. I would gladly eat here again.

My husband and I came here for our wedding anniversary to eat some delicious Columbian food for lunch. Customer service. Bad. Drinks. Bad. Food. HORRIBLE. We walked in and no one even acknowledged us for about five minutes. So we stood there until FINALLY someone acknowledged us. We finally get seated. The table we were seated at, a park bench is more comfortable. Then had to wait again just to get our order take. But while we waited they had some kind of sauce sitting there from the last customer. Then a couple of minutes later a waitress removes it, but brings the same one back just filled with more sauce. Brought us some water. And then leaves. So at 10 minutes of waiting total. I make eye contact with the waitress behind the bar and she asks me if I was ready? I shake my head yes and she then tells the other waitresses at the entrance area that we are ready to order. The waitress comes, no kind of greeting. Super awkward. So I just start to tell her my order. I got the shrimp and rice with a salad on the side. Now usually when you order a salad they bring that out before the entree. Nope it got brought out with the entree. I also ordered a Mojito. My husband ordered the flat iron steak with fried tuna potatoes and the steak was suppose to be well done. You can see the pictures. It’s was definitely not we’ll done. He ordered a Margarita. Definitely should have went to Burger King across the street and saved half the money that we spent at this establishment.

Beginning to end it's a fantastic experience! From the beautiful menu to the outstanding service this is a truly well polished, well executed getaway. Casual but classy with authentic and perfectly prepared dishes. A true delight!

I have been here a handful of times and the food is absolutely delicious and consistent. Coming from Miami where Colombian food is plentiful, I can say this place is as good as it is at home. Being half Cuban and Colombian, Salento is like home for me. The atmosphere, music, and entire dining experience is fantastic. Come by try it for yourself!

My husband is Colombian and this is my favorite Colombian Restaurant when we’re in Jax.We’ve told a lot of our friends about this place as well. The beef empanadas are my favorite and always so fresh and so good. Their NY strip is my go to and is enough to share but not always consistent and sometimes really tough. It’s hit or miss.My husband likes their “chicharron” pork rind appetizer. Their service has become so much better throughout the years and not so slow like in the past.

This is my second time going here. The ribeye steak is absolutely delicious, it’s basted in garlic, butter and rosemary.. It’s tender and so full of flavor. The sides are not bad but they don’t match the steak. That’s the only reason I don’t give 5 stars.

We live sort of far (Oakleaf) so we don't come here very often, but it's always a great experience when we do. The food is always so flavorful and plentiful, and even doing takeout, it's still worth the drive! The sausage in particular is incredible, and the pork rind is always so crunchy and flavorful. Since it was our first time they brought out a magazine with pictures. We ordered the special and it was so much food. All delicious and well seasoned and very affordable. We will be back for date night! I can't believe I only took a picture of their sauces. The chimichurri was on point and they had fancy sauce, lol.
