This place is an experience you must have! It started when we’re driving by, and we could smell the fabulous bread smell half a mile down the road. We ran our errand, and then quickly headed back to eat here. It just smelled SO GOOD. Our waiter tonight was John C, and he was lovely. Fabulous attitude & funny guy. He gave us excellent customer service, even though the place was packed for their 2 for 1 happy hour. All the staff actually seemed to be working their butts off & paying attention to the details. After I ordered a vegetarian sandwich with a German potato salad, Desiree came out of the back to confirm— turns out the German potato salad I had read so much about (on the reviews) actually has bacon! So I switched that out for the American instead (which is vegetarian). She also went out of her way to find us a stray Carrot Cake cookie, since they appeared to be out, and my partner loves Carrot Cake and is allergic to nuts— so he can’t have the real thing. Everything we ate was wonderful. I was especially surprised by the Athena’s Gift sandwich. It’s a gluten-free, raw vegan sausage with cashew cheese. I didn’t expect a fake-sausage to be cold, but other than that I loved it. The seed bread was impressive too— normally that kind of thing tastes or feels like cardboard, but it was soft & delicious! In addition to the case of fresh desserts, they also have lots of retro candy! I was thinking of stocking-stuffers when we bought our Grateful Dead bar. They also have PEZ dispensers (is that showing my age?), Bottle Caps, Oreo Candy Canes, etc. For dessert I had an Italian Lemon Crème cake & the Vegan Mocha Love. The Lemon Crème was fluffier than it looked— like angel food cake and lemon cheesecake. The Vegan Mocha had coconut, which was unexpected, and had a nice coffee-like chocolate flavor. So many fun details here. Each table has a different country map on it & they have an old-style airport flip board that displays different quotes. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal and we will definitely be back!

We stopped for dessert and hot tea. We walked in, and found a wonderful warm atmosphere. The most beautiful dessert case ....enormous! Friendly staff. The menu is quite varied, I can't wait to try some savory dishes. Tonight we got the Granny Smith apple pie, Italian lemon cream cake, and a German chocolate cookie. VERY very good! We will definitely come back on our next trip!

The food was good, and the service was stellar. I can’t say it was too memorable, but I was pleasantly surprised at how good it was for what I ordered.

I stopped by European Street Cafe after an appointment and love how nice the staff are. They greet you once you come in and our server, Marla, was very sweet and attentive. There is also an interesting selection of sweets and chocolate. When craving sandwiches, this is one of the places I like to go to.

Food was great. There is a large menu. Friendly wait staff. Just be aware parking can be difficult around this area.

Good relaxing atmosphere with quick and friendly service. Food can be hit or miss the few times that I have eaten there. Can’t go wrong with their clubs or their ruben. Desert is great to I recommend the classic New York cheesecake.

Date 8/28/22 Time of Dine in 8:14pm I’m giving this Café 3 Star’s simply because it is clean and the customer service is fairly good. I read the reviews which is why I chose to take my fiancé here. I’ve never questioned the quality of so many peoples palate’s until now. The French Dip wasn’t impressive by any stretch, my taste buds weren’t dancing, my mouth wasn’t radiating with joy and that’s what I expect from everything I eat, at every place I pay to eat or else why would I pay? If I’m capable of producing a mouth watering, savory French Dip at home versus what a restaurant sells, it eliminates the desire to eat at that restaurant. The bread on the French Dip wasn’t toasted, The Roast Beef didn’t have any seasoning or flavor nor was it cooked it was all cold. I’ve never eaten a French Dip that was cold and bland like that. Everything was mediocre with the exception of the staff, the waitress was super sweet and kind, the cashier courteous welcoming and kind. If I was the owner, I would make some changes to how you prepare the French Dip, that’s the only thing I can give my opinion on because that was the only real disappointment. Would I return? Maybe if I was limited on options and I wanted to grab a drink, I would maybe be able to work up the bravery to explore another dish however one dish from a restaurant or cafe reflects all other food options on its menu. I apologize if this offends anyone, I just want to give my most authentic perspective and give my most honest experience.

This place is delicious!!! If you cannot find something on their menu then you are beyond picky! We had the Cuban sandwich and it was delicious! Iced tea was awesome! They have a ton of delicious looking baked goods but we had to skip because we were not heading home otherwise there would have been a to go! Highly recommend! Staff was super friendly!

Please, please, please try the beer cheese soup with the pretzel bread stick.! This is their staple and is definitely second to none in the restaurant world. The sliders are amazing too but I have to say that my absolute go to there is the German section of the menu and of course the dessert pastries! You will not be disappointed.

I stopped in here and had an appetizer. The service was terrific and top notch. The prices for everything on the menu were very reasonable. My son and I were pleasantly surprised by the low prices and great food. We'll definitely be coming back. Great atmosphere.

Stopped in right at opening for a lunch sandwich, ended up getting a croissant breakfast sandwich. It was ok and reasonable priced but nothing I'd return for. Might be a better spot for other types of food and beverages.

Really good clean food, everything tastes homemade, fantastic sandwiches and soups. You'll leave here feeling clean, healthy, and full! Great selection of craft beers to drink on site or buy in bulk and take home.

Each time we go there, it is a wonderful experience. The staff is very friendly, the food is always amazing, and of course we cannot forget about the cookies and other treats at the counter 🙂. Anytime I go into Jacksonville, the first thing I look for is how close am I to European Street for either lunch or dinner. Even if it's not very close, it's worth making the extra effort.

I took this great pic of my Italian club on pumpernickel so I came back to post and I'm still a super fan of this amazing local iconic spot. E STREET 4 EVER.

I really enjoyed my experience here. It did take a little while to get served as the bartender was really busy and had a big section. Even for a Thursday it was a decent crowd. The food came out good and great portions. The menu has a lot of options and they all sounded good. I ordered the french dip on wheat and it was delicious about like the ones I make at home. I will definitely be going back to try everything on the menu. The dessert case is also a nice fresh twist and I recommend trying one while you are there it will be worth it.

I love eating here, and if I lived closer to any of their locations, I'm sure it would be a regular spot for me. The food is always good and the beer is always cold. The international sandwich is my favorite, but I've never had a sandwich here that I didn't like.

Stopped for lunch today. Seat yourself in this very cheery cafe. European fare with comfort foods and not so easy to find dishes. I had turkey Reuben. Daughter had French dip and wife had Reuben slider (smaller portions). All came with chips and we had tea and water. The total bill was around $40. The wait staff was attentive and food was brought out quickly. Turkey Reuben was okay, but the French dip was spectacular. Treat case and large selection of beers. We will definitely go back. Ate at the location in San Marco. Parking is a little tough when busy.

Best Beer Cheese Soup w/ Breadsticks EVER! Besides the hundreds of beers and great food, the service is pretty amazing with a special shout out to my server Eddie. We love going to European Street Cafe. I've been going for years and have tried many items on their menu. I've never had anything that wasn't delicious. They have an assortment of sandwiches as well as meatless options, and most are served with a generous serving of potato chips and a slice of dill pickle. Not a fan of potato chips? You can request apple slices instead. The Beer Cheese soup is the best I've ever eaten, and I get some every time we eat there. They also have a rotation of different specialty beer as well as many that you will be familiar with. And their desserts are delicious. They have an assortment of cakes, including different flavors of cheesecake and huge cookies. If you've never been, you should plan a visit. They have 3 locations San Marco, Riverside, and a location at the beach. Enjoy!!!

I got the roast beef, pastrami on pumpernickel and my wife got the hombre. Both sandwiches came with chips and a pickle. Food was fantastic. Definetely going back.

Food was great. Service was friendly. We tried the Original Reuben sandwich on Rye and the bratwurst. Next time I'll order the sandwich on pumpernickel. OctoberFest beer with happy hour, and a large slice of carrot cake. Someone next to us had cheesecake with cherry topping and didn't finish it, left it on the table (so sad!). I may order it next time. And a salad too; the menu is extensive!

One of the Best lunches I've had. The beer cheese soup with two pretzel bread sticks were so delicious! The cordon blue croissant was the best. Served with apple chutney. Can't wait to go back. So many yummy choices of sandwiches. Highly recommend.

What a great find! Can't believe they are only in Jacksonville, but website says their family-owned, which makes sense. Great menu and beer selection and the staff was awesome. We even bought deserts on the way out. Must try if you're looking for a menu with unlimited sandwich options. We’ll be back for sure!

It has been about ten years since I was last in Jacksonville, and as always E Street has never let me down. The food, the atmosphere, the staff; all excellent! I had the Pastrami Reuben and Saurkraut, and can say that nobody does it better. I wish we had a European Street in Northern Virginia so my friends and family up there could experience the great time that I always have here. 😁

What a big menu! If you're tired of the packed breakfast/ lunch places at 10/11am try out ESC. You'll never make it through the menu... Never! The dessert counter is a beast, the beer wall a whole other beast!

We love this cafe and stopped in today for a great lunch. My salad was huge and fresh and my husband’s sandwich was huge and fresh. Both were delicious! I really want to thank our server, Erin M. For her attentiveness, her cheerful personality and helpful service. She made my day!

The beer and food was excellent. Had a taste of Unibroue & Guinness. Food was German Monster Weiner!
