Horrible!!!! Bathroom flooded toilet ran all night. Pillow cover changed but the actual pillow had blood all on it. Boogers found on wall and the smell of weed throughout 3rd floor felt like I was at a Willie Nelson concert. The staff was smoking weed vapes on elevator while carrying a vacuum. a kid spilt apple juice at breakfast lady was cussing F-this ect. AC packed with debris smelled like mildew. AC COVER FELL OFF RADDLED ALL NIGHT . This is the worst best western I’ve ever stayed at. AVOID also the breakfast was horrible tasted like tap water. Don’t believe the picture is a mess. Also wanted to add it’s ghetto keep your head on swivel watch your back type situations. Don’t go out at dark. And cockroaches!!!! 🤮🤮🤮🤮

The first room had mold and peeling wallpaper, and we were moved to a second room. That second room had more mold (Picture not included) The third room had a damaged shower curtain rod (pictures of the rod included), and mold that was painted over with a single coat of white paint, that was only visible when the shower was run and steam hit the area. (Pictures of mold not included) This building is under renovations and this was not disclosed to us at rental. Stay away until the building is renovated as it is a wonderful location that I have stayed at many times and enjoyed the location.

I enjoyed my 3 night stay very much! I stayed on the first floor, my room was very clean. The breakfast was awesome. Waffles eggs sausage. The staff, ALL the staff were amazing. So friendly and helpful. My dog came with us. Great price. The water gets warm after a while but I’ve stayed at some pretty bad hotels so that was the least of my worries. Very nice lounge area . I would recommend if you’re trying to save a few dollars. Thank you Best Western SouthSide!! I was sad to leave !!

Location was perfect! Hotel and grounds kept clean and tidy. Inside smelled wet and/or moldy. Room had the same smell. Found a plug-in air freshener plugged in beneath the sink. Went out and purchased air freshener , cleaner and a sponge. Cleaned the bathroom vent....it had a thick dark brown substance in each vent slot. Some mold was starting to show above the shower head and above bathroom entry door. Had to request new sheets for one of our beds as the fitted had something crusty stuck to it and the flat sheet had multiple holes in it. Mirror had been cleaned with a dirty rag and was terribly streaky and hazy. Staff was ok...maybe a bit short when engaged in a conversation. Seemed to be bothering staff when asking a question. Pool was cute. Coffee was available 24/7 which is always a plus! We didn't have breakfast there but they had a good selection out each morning. Breakfast hostess greeted us with a smile and good morning as we got coffee. Would stay again due to location. I was told it had rebranded a short time ago so maybe they are working on some improvements.

This hotel is awful. Who cares if you're getting a good deal. Roaches, cigarette smell, mold, missing light bulbs and RUDE staff are just not worth it. There are so many hotels in the area. Pay an extra $20 and go elsewhere!!! We switched rooms after the first night (got in so late I couldn't bear changing at midnight). The staff was so rude about us wanting to change. Like they were surprised we didn't like that we had one working light, mold all over the bathroom walls, and terrible smells from cigarette smoke and air freshener trying to cover it. They DID move us and the second room was musty ( but better than smoke) and we killed 2 roaches before going to bed. I can't believe Best Western puts their name on this. I am embarrassed to say I booked in hurry and didn't read reviews because you can see a lot of others feel the same way.

Pet friendly room was not nice. Carpet needs replacing. Sink counter was cracked. Needed paint. Was in maintenance corridor so we listened to washers and dryers all night. Staff was very nice and helpful. Room wasn't ready when we arrived at 3:00 but housekeeping took care of it quickly. Unfortunately the room needs much more than cleaning. Breakfast was very nice. We cut our stay short.

For $180 this place was beyond a disappointment! And we've stayed in some very nice Best Westerns before. The bed was so old it did not lay flat anymore, and the springs were a dominant presence! After brushing my teeth I was about to get a shower when my husband went to brush his teeth and they're was no water. We waited 15 minutes, still no water. The front desk said they were only aware there was no hot water. Regardless, this meant we had to leave without showers. I feel horribly unrested and gross! As a, side note, not that we would have used the pool this visit, but they also started renovation to their pool late in March, which means it's unaccessible for a while. Especially in Florida that's what November - March would be good for. Many of our days are plenty hot enough to swim.

My king room was nice and fairly clean. It was not spotless but it was okay. It even had a small little kitchenette area which was a nice surprise as well as a good sized fridge. Also the desk was larger than most. The water temperature and pressure was excellent. I also enjoyed the hot breakfast. Today it was pancakes, scrambled eggs and sausage. I will return.

Checking in past midnight, we didn't expect much in terms of energy or enthusiasm from the staff. However, Ronald at the front desk proved us wrong. He was alert, welcoming, and surprisingly upbeat for the late hour. The check-in process was quick and hassle-free, which we really appreciated after a long journey. Ronald even took a moment to highlight some key amenities and share a local food recommendation, which we found helpful. What stood out most was Ronald’s genuine nature. He didn’t just go through the motions; he made sure we felt comfortable and had everything we needed. His service was a breath of fresh air and set a positive tone for our stay. In short, Ronald made a great impression on us and represented Best Western in the best possible way. Thanks, Ronald, for your exceptional service, even in the wee hours of the night!

Great location with free charging stations. Rooms are big, clean and carpeted. Great service. Breakfast includes warm options. Our room had a broken fridge but the staff allowed us to use theirs. There was no table and chair in our room although it could fit.

The fixtures in the shower are not even attached to the wall and the room most definitely was not clean. There was rust on the furniture and if that doesn't deter you then the screaming kids in surrounding rooms will. The staff is nice mostly but at the point that I can't sleep because someone has a screaming kid and management doesn't care, its honestly a bust. It's more humid indoors than outside, the ac units don't do much and there is basically zero water pressure. You very legitimately get what you pay for here. Lesson learned.

Ridiculous! Not sure how this place is in business. Stay at Best Western quite often, this was the WORST hotel experience. When we came to check into our hotel that was reserved and held with a credit card weeks prior... we were told our double queen room was now taken and all they could do is put us in the last room available. Upon getting to the room, there were only 2 towels when our reservation was for 3, none of the ice machines worked, mold and standing water in a carpet area were observed and told to the management but none of the issues were addressed. The room we were placed in also had no AC in one of the rooms with a pull out bed, no cable. Overall horrible experience that you should be aware of.

I have to admit I was concerned by the reviews. I had to drive some elderly friends to Jacksonville for some business. We had booked tge rooms based on location to where we needed to be. I was horrified by some of tge reviews. Now for what I found, while it not a 5 star hotel it is clean and appealing. Sure the bathroom may have some peeling wallpaper or not so good caulking but I found everything clean and comfortable! I had some trouble with my room keep but staff was very helpful getting stuff right. The housekeeping lady ( didn't get her name) was awsome and personally helped me getting situation fixed. Every staff member I came in contact with asked if we needed anything. Excellent experience there. The bed was very comfortable sheets and towels were clean and soft. With all said it was a great value and location to where we needed to be. To me pride in your job and taking care of the facilities you have mean something to me. Would Definitely stay here again if I'm ever in area. Breakfast was very good for a hotel Breakfast. Tasty plentiful and hot. Well attended area ! I want to say I truly appreciate all this staff did for not only use but they were helpful to everyone!

I enjoyed my stay. Everyone was really nice and Moon at the front desk was always polite and professional. Rishelle manage was also great. Rooms were always clean and everything worked. They also have complementary breakfast which is good.

Checked in 1/8/23 to find out later that night the hotel had no hot water. Talked with front desk at that time and was told they have been working on the issue for hours so at check in time they were aware and didn't mention problems. 8:30 next morning still no hot water we are close to 18 hours with zero hot water!! Once again stopped by front desk staff said they would call me when water issue had been solved, never received any sort of call. Upon returning to hotel early afternoon went to my room and hot water service had been restored so I had no hot water for 24 hours. There is a large sign in front of hotel stating establishment is under new management and renovations are ongoing. It would be a service to your customers if you would mention that on the website so they have the ability to make an informed decision on where they spend their evenings to rest from the days activites. In closing this place is in dire need of remodeling and renovations it is a very tired location. 😫

My mom left her wallet at home so we let the front desk know that she did not have her ID or credit card that she booked the hotel with. We were told that we had to contact the company that she booked with. We were on the phone for about a half an hour and then they said they wanted to speak with her. When that happened, she said hang up I’ll take care of it and proceeded to tell us she could just add me to the reservation. She knew how to do this to begin with, and did not do it. Then after we got up to our room, we noticed that the toilet paper holder was falling out of the wall in the bathroom needed updated. There were no covers on the bed only two sheets. We had no towels to put on the floor for when you get out of the shower and was told they did not have any more towels right now. We had no extra toilet paper and no soap, shampoo, conditioner, and was told that they were out of it. The beds are lumpy. There is a free breakfast in the morning hopefully they will not have run out of that as well! We will not be staying at the best Western again! Very disappointed!!

Really disappointed, in being charged $100 security deposit. Why? This is 2023, and I'm a platinum member, I should not be charged $100 extra to stay in that tying up that $100 for 5 to 7 days. In this day and age, you would think, that they have insurance or coverage to fix any so-called damage, done to the rooms. The room itself was a three at the best, the tub was completely stained, the shower head leaked profusely so that barely anything came out of the nozzle head itself. No trash can no amenities. For that money I spent, I received excellent accommodations with no security deposit The last two stays which were two and three days ago in other parts of Florida. I don't get it. I won't be staying there again, ever! I did not want to add photos because it is my preferred brand and I don't want to discourage people from going into room 119. That's all I can say.

No usb ports. Wake up call on point. Super nice people. Excellent breakfast. My favorite place to stay in Orange Park. Way better than any extended stays in the area and great prices. Thanks guys. See you again soon.

We made a reservation a month in advance, and they called to cancel at 1:30 the afternoon of arrival. I asked where they would put us up, and was told they didn’t have any obligation because we had not checked in. I asked to speak to a manager, and they told me one would call, but never did. With such unbelievably bad service, I’m kinda glad we didn’t stay there.

After reading reviews, I almost picked a different spot, but it was late & I was tired. Check-in & check-out was fantastic. There was a hole in the drywall, but that didn't ruin my stay. The bed was comfy, the room was cool & the water in the shower was wet. My room was at the end of the hall, so I didn't hear any hallway traffic. Didn't eat breakfast. I'm not going to post pics of the room on IG, so I liked it but didn't love it.

The location of this hotel is paramount to us. Very centrally located and easy to get to. The hotel is clean and in a very safe area. The pool was closed starting March 28 for renovations. Disappointed. Breakfast was fantastic. Much care and thought has gone into the presentation and menu. Our room had a musty smell but appeared clean. TV was broken but was replaced within minutes. Customer Service is top notch. We like the hotel; especially the breakfast and will keep coming back.

After staying at a cheaper place the night before I opted to spend a bit more for a nicer place. We checked in late, the guy at the counter was friendly and got us going quickly. The room was clean and nice, slept really well! The only downfall was in the morning I found our bathroom door was missing a knob and was smashed in! I had to put my duffle bag against the door to hold it shut and shoved a t-shirt in the hole for privacy. We decided to go back a couple nights later, got a great room. Breakfast was good and staff was friendly. The elevator was broken so we had to use the stairs but we were warned about that ahead of time.

The hotel was clean, the rooms were clean-ish (some age is showing) our sink faucet was loose, hot water took 5 minutes to get warm, never hot (we were on the 3rd floor) toilet was clean but looked like it had been there since day one an odd tan color, the exhaust vent rattled and was annoyingly loud etc. The staff was nice. Pretty sure most of the staff stays high as soon as I walked up to check I could smell weed then mutilple times through out our stay. Beware they charge a 100.00 Incidental fee to your credit card but offer no other ammenities that this would be used for. Then 5-7 business days to put it back on your card. This is not noted on the website. I thought I read this hotel had been rennovated but I guess they missed lots of things. The beds were not very comfortable and the sheets, towels and pillows were the worst! The sheets had knots on them and very rough, way past their prime. The pillows were like throw pillows very small and just plain awful. The bath towels did not smell fresh or feel nice more like an old shop towel. Paid nearly 500 for three nights (GA vs FL game weekend prices are spiked) but I expected way better. We travel a lot and are Platinum Elite members with IHG. We will think twice about booking outside of their brand again.

So let me start with this roller coaster ride but there is a final reason this was a one star experience... So we get in the room my wife and my son.. they don't provide a crib but we had a wedding and I wanted to be close but okay kind of a strike.... So okay he will sleep with us it's two nights... So I had booked the whirlpool king room and it wanted to be good but then it would happen..... So the tub is clean and we're gonna use it but the stopper was broken but I'm the kind of person I fixed it and filled the tub..... So we use the bath I get setup the bed springs feel like you are laying on springs and AC blows on the bed and the TV is really awful terrible picture.... The room has a fridge with a freezer with a microwave so we needed the fridge for the milk for my son.... So next morning my wife is showering and the drain clogged and the toilet wouldn't stop running then I realize the fridge stopped working and it's getting warm..... Now I'm am a very tolerant person so I go get repairman to fix everything.... They come right away and he's fixing it up then they send a different person and he's going to swap the fridge.... So he is doing that and as he's removing the fridge I start seeing the cockroach jumping out of the back of the fridge..... Now the person they send spoke no English so I don't blame him but this place was supposedly renovated recently.... The manager was so embarrassed but I told her she's been so nice the staff was nice the person that owns that building needs to step up and get everything straight before renting rooms..... Almost forgot to mention the phone in the room was broken so I couldn't call the front desk I had to go down.... So ultimately we ended up changing hotels and the holiday Inn Express and it was wonderful the people at Best Western would take notes

Clean hotel, friendly staff - plus great breakfast.(Eggs, sausage, biscuits) Our room was very clean, the lobby and halls are clean. The bathroom is dated and some of the wallpaper is coming unglued at the edge but eh we were here for one night so that is not that big of a deal to us. Water pressure was not great but again, one night so not a big deal. It's very close to the Navy base which is what we needed. Many good restaurants close by. Would stay here again.

We stayed here for 3 nights in a king room on the 5th floor. Checked in around 7pm. The women at the desk wasn't helpful on breakfast times, internet information, etc. so had to ask about it. Room: 5th floor end of hall. Elevator and hall tiled area near the elevator was sticky our entire stay. Not one ice machine worked (had ice bucket in room but not ice). Room king bed was pretty comfortable but hated the lumpy old pillows. Room floor was not cleaned so took a towel and wiped the tile part. Only given 2 towels and 1 hand (would have been nice to have a towel bar near sink area) towel. No washcloths. Went downstairs and requested another towel, hand towel and washcloth. Was told they only service rooms every 3 days which is ok with us. We don't need anything . Train passed through the night several times but seems far enough away that we weren't bothered. Breakfast: 6-9am with eggs, pancakes, sausage (turkey or sausage), potatoes (only a few days), small mini muffins, cheese type pastry, bagels, juices, yogurt machine with a few toppings, coffee. Food was ok. Not a fan of the eggs. Mostly had a bagel with sausage and coffee. Staff was friendly and the breakfast area was stocked but hotel did not seem full.. Could use a good general clean around everywhere. Easy access to highway as well. We used hotel points so a good value with that.

Other than missing breakfast—my fault. The room was clean, check in was a breeze and the water was piping hot—just the way I like it. I definitely will be returning. Also each and every one of the staff I came across spoke and greeted me. Grips: Fix the ice machines and label where they are better. I went to several floors and none worked... The customer service made it not matter.

The room was large with a decent size refrigerator. That is where the good ends. The bathroom had two towels and one wash cloth. There are no hand towels near the sink area, which is away from the bathroom. The stopper for the tub drain was sitting on the soap dish. It is metal and full of mildew. The knob to turn on the water was falling off. There was no ice bucket or cups for coffee or water. The service desk said, "There is no ice bucket in your room? I can't believe that." They still did not give me one. They did give me a couple extra towels.

Obviously not a Five Star hotel, but we didn't want a Five Star hotel based on our needs. We wanted a clean, comfortable hotel with a courteous and efficient staff. We found exactly that at the Best Western Southside and recommend it highly.

♥️Front Desk Clerk Moon was very professional and had a great attitude. She took care of our every request with no problems. Gemari was also very helpful and had a very pleasant attitude. We were very happy with our 3 night stay at this Best Western and we will definitely return. Thank You!

A pretty standard Best Western. Our room was small but clean, with the necessary towels, soap, etc. Easy check-in and no problem navigating the facility. If I was allowed I'd rate it 3 1/2 stars only because some "extras" were lacking. No ice was available on our floor, vending options were limited, and the workout room featured some cardio equipment, a small rack of dumbbells, and a rusty old cable machine that didn't work.

Rooms very clean, nice appearance and comfortable. Staff was very nice, courteous, and helpful. Only "complaint" was a/c was very noisy for first couple minutes . And bathroom fan was very noisy any time it was on.

An employee would make the difference and in this case Moon 🌙 is the difference, we have become regulars thanks to the outstanding service we received from her. Moon, will always give the extra smile to make anyone feel at home. The rooms are clean and comfortable, convenient distance from NAS Jax, restaurants and the Orange Park mall. If you get the chance to stay with them I promise you that all the staff will take great care of you, specially Moon! Breakfast is included, win win, COFFEE!! Do I forgot to mention about Moon? We need more Moons 🌙🌙 in the hospitality industry.

Very loud next to the highway. Room smells like musty mold and gives me a headache. Elevator smells like Marijuana. Bed is uncomfortable and lumpy. Springs sticking out. Shower is a lot of trouble. The shower curtain keeps sliding down from both sides. The button in tub drain is not attached causing water to get 3 inches deep. I simply pulled the drain piece out. It has missing pieces. It was very loud all night long. I was hoping the traffic would stop by 10pm then 12am then 2am, but no. Headache. I wish I brought a can of Lysol and some earplugs. All the employees must have been off for New years since there was so much trash outside the elevator of the 5th floor. Never again will I stay here unless I get paid.

Party hotel! we were awakened at 1 am with a loud party going on. We called the front desk and were told he would "take care of it." An hour later the noise was worse not better. We went to the front desk and asked to be moved. The person at the front deak was sitting there on his ell phone doing nothing to rextify the situation. Do not stay here unless you are looking to party.

Be Aware! Housekeepers may steal your personal belongins. I stayed at this hotel for 3 days, from March of 23 -26, 2023. After 1 hour from the check out i realised that i forgot to grab my Macbook charging adapter which i last time used in the morning before i check out. It was in the plug near of king side bed. Receptionist said that housekeeper did not find anything. I was shocked, how it is possible. It is original recently purchased Macbook pro adapter and pretty expensive one. I cant believe how they may hire staff who steals customers personal belongings. Also while i was talking to receptionist she was very rude to me and hang out the phone when i said i will call to headquarter and complain. Be aware before u reserve room. Double check all your devices before you check out.

Disappointment as soon as we walked in! The rooms smell like cigarettes, the elevator smelled like weed, the bed was uncomfortable with horrible lumpy pillows. During our 5 day stay no house keeping AT ALL! Never changed our sheets, no towels, nothing! We even put up the sign saying we needed it. It states after day 3 they automatically come in to clean, nobody ever did. We finally went down to get more towels and after the front desk lady asked what room we’re in, said she’d send housekeeping up the next morning, NEVER HAPPENED! Our garbages were full and on our last night we had a cockroach appear! I guess you get what you pay for! DON’T STAY HERE!!!

I checked in March 5 thru March 7. The staff was great. Everyone was very pleasant from check-in to check-out. Breakfast was not the best nor was it the worst. I mostly appreciated Moon she was so nice. I was having a bad morning upon checking out at the front desk with the desk clerk and she was so kind, patient and understanding she worked her magic to try to cheer me up before I even left out of the building. I really appreciated the woo-sah!! I needed that. Thank you Moon your awesome!

DO NOT get caught grabbing a disposable paper bowl/plate, about 2' behind the caution tape!!Because the empty coffee urn has no cups. The security here is very on top of keeping the only two items left out in the entire breakfast area. How this very stern man brought this to my attn. Loud, scolding, unnecessary. Now my trip back to the room. I was followed by a different officer of the hotel. When he popped out of the stairs case his expression on his face was, ooh I got you. Busted. As he approached me. Again very loud very in my face and very hostile. Similar to his cheif. Now I'm not sure what I did for them to be so rude and unprofessional. Other then nothing. Mind you it's 1:30 PM in the afternoon. Rewind to breakfast Breakfast- Pancakes,OUT Yoghurt,OUT Toast-OUT bagels, English muffin-out Quaker oatmeal pocket;maple(the only good kind)-OUT. Cereal-OUT In stock was delightful eggs and sausage Breakfast lady was not very helpful but she did make very good eggs. Room was fine but hospitality here is a all time WAMMY! Small bonus-the air conditioner air filter was in prestine condition.

Check-in on a Saturday night to come to not once but twice a dirty room or undone room. Had to wait for the manager to clean one of the rooms and they still felt dirty after watching how they did it! NEVER AGAIN

Arrived Sat evening about 7pm. Front desk clerk was very nice and placed us in room 104 quickly. We went to the room and none of the outlets or lights worked. Went back up front and asked her about it and if we could be moved. She wanted to send someone to look at them but again I asked to be moved because at this point it was after 7, we wanted to unpack and get dinner, not sit around for maintenance. Was so glad she moved us because as I went back to tell my family my husband discovered the ceiling was covered in mold and he had also pulled the sheets back on the bed and the mattress was covered in mold. We were moved to a room on the 3rd floor. It was much cleaner but I noticed we only had 2 towels. I booked a room for 4 people. None of us planned to shower until morning so I waited until then to go down and ask for 2 more towels. Again the front desk clerk was very nice and went to laundry to get towels but came back and said there were no clean towels at all (none, not even 2, and this was at like 9am). Thank god I had actually backed some beach towels and we ended up having to use then for our showers. I have stayed at many Best Westerns and this was by far the worst experience ever.
