I honestly wish I could give this place zero stars. This hotel is disgusting and poorly maintained. I needed a one night stay as I am a new resident if Jacksonville. The front desk woman was very rude and she asked so many question. The questions she was asking made me feel like this was a really nice hotel. This place is HORRIFIC. I do not recommend this place at all. For the price they are charging you can find something better. None of my outlets worked, my front door was badly broken and anyone could break in. The TV didn't have cable, and the phones didn't work. The rooms smelled old and of mildew. The overall experience was a Shock! I thought I was being PUNKED...

I stayed there for 1-night. The location is nice. I booked a non-smoking room and was given a non-smoking room as well. But the room was old-fashioned, not properly cleaned, and full of a strong smoking smell. All of my clothes were smoked-smelled even after leaving the motel. I feel that authority doesn't care how the room is cleaned when any guest leaves. Also, in the amenities, it was said that a refrigerator and a microwave are included. But I found that those are available only if you pay extra.

Ok so I have seen this hotel a lot and tried to get my cousins a room here when we first moved here and they was booked up. So tonight I needed a room and I seen this room on Priceline so I got it. For one it's the smoking room for me! I love the fact that I don't have to run outside anytime I want to smoke. And I was very surprised at how clean the room is I'm very comfortable in my bed right now goodnight.

You get exactly what you pay for! They warn you that they don’t provide refrigerators or microwaves yet it was one in the first room I booked. They really don’t know what’s in the rooms and that proves to be the truth because if they did they’d know about the roaches that are in them.. I booked for two guest yet there were 4! Me my wife and two roaches.. I gave them another chance because I was a visitor and the rooms were affordable plus the area wasn’t bad. Upon checking in as soon as my wife sat on the bed it went straight to the floor. Went into another one which was better than the first two and what do we know ! A roach literally commits suicide by crawling into the socket! The roaches were terrible.. Keep the air conditioning on 70 or below or you’ll be feeling like you’re in a box.. Area was cool but rooms were old and outdated..

One of the rude managers (elderly) was acting as if he didn’t want me to get my reservation at first. After having to go through a whole tassel about my room & money, I was able to get the key. That’s when I was greeted by a FAMILY/VILLAGE OF ROACHES, SPIDERS ETC insects were everywhere it’s very unsanitary and does not look anything like the pictures they’ve presented. Please if you see this hotel with availability RUN it is NOT WORTH IT. You’re better off in your car (that’s what I’m doing as we speak) thanks to their poor customer service support/quality.

So my company booked me the room while my semi was in the shop. First glance get what you pay for. Not a big deal, my room door has a gap in it, you can see light coming through it, maybe even a bug or two. Pool is locked up, cant use it ir even layout near it. Rooms do not come with a microwave or refrigerator. However the second night and I am here another two nights as of this review. There are roaches in the room, not one, but I have found 6. Sure Florida has bugs but come on now.

1 star is even too much to give. I am staying here at the Scottish inn now as I type this I purchased for two nights I couldn't cancel so I had to stay, there's no fridge or microwave here, the toilet when you flush it water runs onto the floor, I can't change the TV. And a little extra, one of the employees here is very hateful to me for no reason I never done anything to her I don't even know her name. Please be careful booking a room online you will not get your money back.

The rooms are filthy. A picture with broken glass above the bed. Cabinet doors are hanging off. There was tobacco and cigar wraps in the drawers. Mold on the bottom of the doors and on the ceiling in the bathroom. What looked like incense sticking out of the walls. I really can’t believe how bad this place is and is still allowed to have guests

This place was inhumane. I walked into the room and immediately saw 6 roaches crawling around. There were cigarette marks all over the plastic tub which also had paint peeling off it. The bed comforter had cigarette holes in it and there was a large indentation in the mattress. The drawers had holes in it and... I can't even continue. I went to a nearby walmart to see about buying new bedsheets, but then decided- why is this my responsibility. I went back and checked out and asked for a refund- which they said I would have to take up with booking.com . Booking.com has also been less than helpful by referring me back to the Scottish Inn. How can I get my money back? I never stayed there! The room was filthy!

The air coming from the AC is severely contaminated with the cigarette smoke from some other rooms. I had to turn off the AC as the smoke started to irritate my eyes. Saw 1 roach this morning roaming on the TV table. Hope it’s not too late that I took away my backpack on that table before they could infest my backpack as well. Faucet is leaking water onto the countertop if the water comes out fast. Room light is dim, but generally okay. Bathroom does not have a ventilation, but the sanitation is okay. Staff is nice and I enjoyed the quiet neighborhood, my sleep was not bothered.

We went to jacksonville for my grandmother funeral we had a 5 hour drive. When we got to the hotel we couldn't understand the guy from behind the glass. When we to the room the main room light didn't work we turned on the bathroom light an saw roaches and a dirty towel on the floor. It smelled like wet dog. We walk right out and left. We would never recommend this hotel

So let me tell you what! Imma save you the time and trouble. DO NOT BOOK THIS DUMP. FIRST AND FORMOST: ROACHES EVERYWHERE. Im not one to cancel 😒 I hate being on the phone with customer service. Well we called took a little longer than expected to get through. They wouldn't refund our first day because we had been there a little longer than 20 minutes. Well yeah after unloading our luggage, then reloading our luggage, and calling to cancel sure we were there for more than 20 minutes. But honestly, don't stay here. 🤮 saw over 10 roaches in 5 minutes. I've never seen an infestation in a hotel, motel, whatever dumpster fire that was. Just happy to be out of there. You can keep the money, for the love of God use it for some pest control, that place is embarrassing!

It’s what you pay for. But the location is great. Temporary stayed there for a week and receive poor customer service and the security guard have a problem with gay people. My partner and I informed the owner about the issue with him and with the hotel and he was just staring out , which means he wasn’t listening or daydreaming. The he was like well…. Basically he didn’t give a damn and definitely made the situation worse. All about money with him. Thanks for your time

Would have felt safer slepping in the w@ffle house parking lot. When i travel i don't mind staying in a cheap, no frills motel, especially if its somewhere in staying for just one night before i get to my destination. But this was a sraight up flop house. There is no way any of the positive reviews are legit. Dead roaches. Cigarette burns on the lampshades and bed spread. Holes in the wall and ceiling. Room positively reeked of smoke. Took me an hour to find an alternate place to stay (because it was THAT bad) and when I went to the front desk and told them that I wouldn't be staying and why, I was told "sorry, you've been here too long to get a refund" . I told them that was bogus but regardless there was no way I would be spending the night in that dump. You couldn't pay me to stay there. This place is an absolute disgrace.

What a horrible room. Bed was broken and sloppy made. Duck tape holding molding to walls. Price was way more than advertised. Furniture had been chewed on by what looked like animals. Door latch broken. Roaches! This place should be condemned. Never again!

Stinking, roach infested, and filthy. First "non-smoking" room stank like an ashtray. Next one stank of urine & feces. No soap in either room, and only hand-towels in second. Sink didn't drain. Cigarette holes in sheets. Springs poking through the sagging mattresses. And we weren't the only ones in the room: Plenty of roaches, which the staff was obviously aware of, as they had sticky-traps out (See photo). It was a rather horrific experience. The only good part was the AC worked. (AC in my hope had broken, and it was 92 indoors, which was why we booked). But I couldn't even shower, so....

I don't understand why so many people have given bad reviews. My stay here has been just fine. It's the best price around. Keep in mind that there is no microwave or fridge or pool, but still, can't beat the price. The ac is cold, the water is hot. Ice machine works. Ample parking. Walmart nearby. Housekeeping daily. No bugs. Only issue I had was a bunch of people sitting on the staircase for hours blocking egress while I was moving in, but that's not the hotel's fault, that's just inconsiderate people. There was also plenty of towels and soap in my room. I honestly think that the bad reviews are from people who were kicked out because I haven't had any of the issues described in their reviews. I always give businesses one stars so for me to give a place five stars like this is pretty rare.

I've never been to a 1 star hotel and I never want to go again. Run down does not cover how terrible this place is. Everything is dated, old, smells bad even in a non smoking room. Cracked paint, ceiling water spots, peeling tub. And of course there were roaches. There was a refrigerator but it had no shelves, smell awful and wasn't plugged in. The lamps flickered and some didn't work. The place is horrible in a bad Area but there was no noise from the residents. Nothing shady in the parking lot. There was supposedly continental breakfast but all they had was a vending machine and the worst coffee money can buy. Budget isn't the 0

Would give negative stars if possible. We were locked in our room for almost an hour because the door jammed. No fire alarms, very dirty, outlets didn't work. Do NOT stay here.

I was a little upset with this website because Scottish In was a filthy very dirty hotel/motel. I would never go back to Scottish in Jacksonville Florida like I said the hotel rooms or motel rooms are disgusting the telephones do not work in every room you cannot even call the front desk the front desk people do not like to help you they're very rude The woman there was a white woman who works the day shift you couldn't check in till 3:00 p.m. in the afternoon and when I place the order it didn't tell me that I couldn't check in till 3:00 p.m. so of course I was there at 11:00 a.m. I had to wait nearly 4 and 1/2 to 5 hours to get a room when I got into the room it was disgusting the floors had carpet it looked like from the 1970s no exaggeration maybe the 1980s the room stunk it smells so bad the bathroom was disgusting dirty and the bed was horribly dirty I was too scared to even lay on the beds me and my children literally ended up sleeping in our vehicles because we could not get a refund on our money and it was only like 50 or $55 to stay one night in that hotel room / motel room not sure what it is but I would never visit this location ever again

ROACHES, bugs, FILTHY, a HEALTH HAZARD, ROACHES!!! My daughter was visiting from out of town and not knowing the area well, booked this hotel. When I arrived at this place the first thing I noticed was how poorly lit the hallways and exterior were. Walked in the room, turned on the lights, which were very dim, took a quick scan of the room and told my daughter that she was not staying in this filthy, disgusting place. Then we saw it, a bed bug on the wall and roaches on the table. Went to turn in the key and make the night manager aware of the situation, our concerns and reasons why we were leaving, he told us he wasn't refunding our money because we were there for more than an hour, which isn't true at all. We never asked for a refund either and was more concerned with the bugs in the room. We told him we weren't there for an hour as we had just gotten there, he got disrespectful yelling at us telling us he didn't give a da#n because he had it camera that the car was there for over an hour. While we were there, here comes a couple to complain that the room they were given had roaches and the one they were moved to was already occupied, they were afforded a lot more courtesy than my daughter and I, even after the woman said she was filing a complaint with the BBB. It didn't surprise me that they got a more friendly and respectful interaction with the night manager and no, at no time were we disrespectful either. This place NEEDS to bring their rooms up to standard and the healthy department needs to investigate them for beg bugs and roaches. Just horrendous, disgusting, and shameful that this place is named the Scottish Inn when Filth, Roaches, Bed Bugs Are Us would be a more fitting name!!!

I checked in on 7/7/22 and went to work. I came back to the room around 7pm or so and showered and took a nap. When I woke up overnight there were roaches in the bed with me. Completely gross. I went to the front desk and got no help because they were booked. I called multiple times today along with Priceline customer care and go no one on the phone to help. I will be disputing the charge with my bank and contacting the health department so this won't happen to anyone else. 10/10 WOULD NEVER RECOMMENDED! I have plenty of videos of the filth to show the health inspector.

Roaches in the showers when I arrived in hairs in the bed. Awful awful awful awful.

The rooms are not bad. Bed is comfortable, WiFi is good, cable TV is better than most places. They do keep the rooms clean as you ask for. The problem is Roaches everywhere I mean in the Bed, they crawl on you when you sleep and they have the variety of ones that bite you while you are sleeping. I was there because of a housing issue. The lower level staff are really nice, but the front office staff act like they are doing you a favor to talk to you with a civil voice. I never saw one of them smile or act in a polite manner. The Indian lady is beyond rude and will kick you out if you even look sad. A totally evil person. I must say they do get your mail to you, they are very good about that. Overall the front office staff would be fired if a real manager were to be part of the administrative team.

Though the check in staff was friendly, I cannot recommend this place in the slightest. The rooms are the definition of shoddy, many lacking the advertised amenities due to theft. Doors malfunction, locking you from your room. Wonderful environment for drug dealing, terrible for anything else.

This place was sketchy. I didn't feel safe, you could people "doing things" I'm the next room. The rooms were not clean. I slept on top of the bed cover and used .u own blankets.

Absolutely NOT!! This is the worst motel I have ever stayed in. The roaches, yes I said ROACHES, are overwhelming. We couldn't even eat in the room. The room was uncared for. Dead roaches on the walls. It smells horrible, and it's mildewed. Never again.

Disgusting hotel. DO NOT stay here! It's not worth it. Holes, broken door handle, smoke holes in curtains and beds, nasty bathroom with dirt and dust on everything, it feels dirty touching anything, ROACHES!, RUST, everything is dust gusting, had to clean our own hotel roomm before even sitting down. And also when we arrived there was a crime scene that had just happened moments before we got there with a dead body. They shouldn't even be in business.

I would not recommend honestly, before I even got to get comfortable into my room there was an abused puppy underneath my bed and roaches everywhere. They moved my room and that room had loose electrical sockets a huge hole in the vent above the toilet and bed bugs. Some people tried to break into my motel room around 3 in the morning and no the desk clerk the next morning had zero knowledge about it good thing they have a cameras in the front and I have witnesses because this is a lawsuit in the making. The person who paid for my room did not even receive a refund why do I need to ask for one if they know the situation I even have text to prove my experience went way worse afterwards.

  • 1/5 R. B. 1 year ago on Google
If I could put a zero star they deserved it! This place soooo disgusting! The room smells really baaad! The owner or the manager should be ashamed of them self. They don't change the sheets and the pillows are dirty!! I have videos and pictures to proved it.

I tend to ignore bad reviews because that usually seems like something personal or an attitude issue I'm a truck driver I've been every state and every motel you could think of this one here in Jacksonville Florida, it's obvious it's an old motel but it's clean and not even a roach anywhere so whoever told you anything otherwise, ignore it This is my second night here I'm still here, room 109, this place is a good place to stay And I'm paying $80 a night and it's worth it. Even though it was advertised at $45 to $60 per night. Lol 😆 Robert Keith Murray

  • 1/5 Mark R. 7 months ago on Google
I don't understand how they are able to stay open, place is an absolute nightmare. I saw more roaches in one night then I've seen in my 60 years on this planet. They should send people around to investigate these places, the city of Jacksonville FL should be held accountable for allowing this place to be open. It is not safe for human habitation. It is really amazing how the city allows this and other places as bad as this to even rent rooms to the public. Jacksonville FL has really gone way down hill , with no end in sight.

  • 1/5 JO M. 3 months ago on Google New
They won’t let you even go in the lobby. You have to stand out in the cold to check in. You can’t check in at 2:30, even if your room is ready. I stayed there one night and I’ve been sick for four days after.

  • 4/5 Brian V. 2 years ago on Google
Decent place to stay. I'm here long term and it's been good to me. I'm happy with the rare I'm paying. It's a motel right off the highway so I thought it would be loud but it's actually very quiet at night. I haven't felt unsafe either. The rooms are old and need work but that hasn't bothered me too much. The bathroom is tiny but there's a sink / wash area right next to it with plenty of counter top space. The maid service is solid and consistent. My one complaint is no microwave or fridge in the room. I'm getting by but I wish the rooms had those things. The location is okay. For restaurants and night life, San Marco is just a mile down the road.
