My stay was NOT worth $260, including tax, for one night. The room had thE worst odor! It smelled like urine throughout the entire room. I asked the employee who came to my room as I was heading to checkout if they were pet friendly. She said, "Yes, but the previous guest didn't have pets. She stayed for about a month. She was an African, so you know she had a strong odor. We cleaned with bleach, but you know that type odor lingers." How stereotypical!!! That was rude, disrespectful, and overall unprofessional. In addition, the bathroom floor was dirty. They did not sweep thoroughly. There was gunk and dirt in the corners of the bathroom wall and flooring. A hole in the tub below the facet that had rust around it. The closet door was off the hinge. Lastly, the breakfast was a 3 out of a scale of 10. The sausage looked rubbery, wet, and raw. The eggs taste like carton. The circled hashbrowns taste like old chicken grease, and they only had plain bread and bagels. The only good part of the breakfast was the coffee, the whole fruit, and the cereal.

First, let me say I was traveling on business and I’ve been traveling on business for almost 20 years. As far as the staff goes, they were great EXCEPT for the manager on duty in the morning. I was planning on staying 2 nights at this hotel. On the first night of my stay, I noticed something on the wall, it was a roach(pic attached) I went to the front desk and the lady offered to move me to another room but it was late, I had already unpacked and I didn’t feel like it. She said she leave a message for the manager which she did. I went back to the front desk the next morning and I asked that I be compensated with 10,000 Hilton points but she refused. Stating that’s it’s Florida and there are bugs. I lived in FL for 20+ years, I know the difference between a water bug and a ROACH! I will never stay here again!!!! I checked out that morning and went across the street to a lovely Spring Hill suites by Marriott. And yes, I got my 10,000 points by calling Hilton honors directly.

We had no hot water the desk told us try in 20 minutes if that doesn't work try in the morning we don't have any maintenance people at night. The light by the couch was hanging from exposed wires and there was simple cleaning things that were not complete and the breakfast was not very good and the breakfast lady kept complaining she wanted to go home. The location is great that's the positive and the morning desk people were much more receptive

Had an okay stay. The biggest glitch was no shower curtain in the bathroom. Not sure what would possess one to take it in the first place or how housekeeping could overlook something so obvious is an even bigger question. Also, not thrilled with some lingering tub mildew. Loses a star for that. Got the curtain resolved, but there were several areas of unfinished construction that made the hotel feel a bit tired. Wanted to check in 30 minutes early and was told no rooms were ready and to check back at 3pm. That's unusual given Gold Member status and that the hotel did not appear sold out. I felt the check in experience could have been better. So for that and the construction vibe, minus another star. Otherwise everything in the room worked properly. Breakfast area was well maintained and the food offerings were decent. Best kept secret is the outdoor patio seating area. It's the coolest look of the entire hotel.

Definitely disappointed with the stay!! We asked for extra towels and didn’t receive them!! Bathroom had hair everywhere!!! Front desk Cheryl wasn’t friendly! The elevator smell like weed. I definitely wouldn’t recommend this location to friends nor family! It’s very frustrating, trying to get great customer service longer exist anymore!! The rooms need to be updated instead of painting the walls.

Homewood Suites by Hilton Jacksonville Deerwood Park is a solid choice for those visiting Jacksonville. With a 4.1/5 rating, it's clear that many guests have had a positive experience here, and I can understand why. The hotel offers spacious and well-appointed suites, providing a comfortable and homely atmosphere. The rooms are equipped with all the necessary amenities, including a kitchenette, making it an excellent choice for longer stays or for those who prefer self-catering. One of the standout features of this hotel is its complimentary hot breakfast, which is a great way to start your day. The variety of options ensures that there's something for everyone. The staff at Homewood Suites are frequently praised for their friendliness and professionalism. They go out of their way to make guests feel welcome and address any concerns promptly. The location is convenient, with easy access to the Deerwood Park area and nearby attractions. However, some guests have mentioned that a car is necessary to get around the area effectively. Overall, if you're looking for a comfortable and reasonably priced stay in Jacksonville, Homewood Suites by Hilton Jacksonville Deerwood Park is worth considering. Its high rating is a testament to the positive experiences of many guests.

We love staying at the Homewood suites. The people at the front desk were fabulous. The rooms are very clean and accommodating. The price is a little bit more but as far as I'm concerned well worth it.

I stay in Hilton brand hotels 2-3 times a month. This is by far one of the worst experiences I have had in one. I usually stay in TRU or Home2 and will likely keep doing that. The staff is all very kind, but the hotel was not worth the price. I requested a suite w/ 2 queens, and we were placed at the end of the hall in a nice room. On night one, we had plumbing issues and were moved to another room due to the toilet overflowing and flooding the room. We were moved to a smaller room, roughly half the size of our previous room, AT A HIGHER RATE?! I was offered 50% off of my first night, and I took it, but I personally don't feel like that was the right move, considering they would have had to "find us a room similar to what we got". The king room was not clean when we moved in, it had no microwave tray (in a suite?) and the shampoo conditioner bottles were filthy and not even on the wall. There were several small repairs that needed to be made, like closet doors not being attached to the track, the bathroom bottles on the wall. Minor things that really make it all worth the price and not feel run down.

The room smelled terrible. There was NOTHING we could do to get rid of it. It was the only room in the whole hotel so there was no requesting a different room. If I could have I would have. The beds were hard, and the pillows were flat. It cost me $825 for two nights and honestly I didn’t look forward to getting to my room on the second night. However, the breakfast and coffee were GREAT. And customer service was good.

First the good: breakfast was surprisingly good and people at front desk were very nice. Now, the rest of the story - hotel is tired - worn out dining room, dirty property overall. We were greeted with a giant bag of trash in front of our room - after several hours, I drug it down the hall. Our room had no towels, no shampoo and no soap. Additionally, we were missing linens/blankets for the pull-out sofa. The front door threshold to our room moved freely and you would literally kick it into the room. All the dishes were in the dishwasher when we arrived, the floors were filthy, carpet nasty and the AC very loud. The water in the tub would not turn off, so we got to listen to that all night. Hilton, please get this hotel up to standards - or change the signage to a Motel 6.

Hotel is need of repair, many outside walls showing wear and cracks and holes. Pool side door card reader has been inop over a month at least. Many hallways still showing damage and left unprepared from water leak first week of March. Great location, great people but it's time foe upkeep and renovation.

What an absolute nightmare of hotel, I arrived at 7:30 pm and the lady at the front desk was eating sunflower seeds and had her fingers all wet of saliva and got my license and credit card all wet…disgusting!! ALSO, if you work for a company that reserves hotel rooms while you work DO NOT STAY HERE!! Even though your name is on the reservation they want to see the actual person who owns the company card, like your boss is going to fallow you around, this year I’ve used 97 hotel rooms and this is THE ONLY hotel that does that. I actually stayed there in march and everything went fine. When I asked the lady what my options were she simply told me it wasn’t her problem, I don’t know what type of people she’s used to deal with but that’s not the way you treat a costumer. Ended up paying for another hotel room and guess what? They saw my name on the reservation, asked for my drivers license and boom, I was in my room. Never again hoodwood inn and “suites”

They don't even deserve 1 star. Quite possibly the worst hotel I stayed at! Shower head trickled out water, room was damp and musty, front desk was rude and did not accommodate any request. Do not stay here! Was told a member of management would contact me, still no response from them. No accountability!

The hotel was in deep repair obviously being upgraded. The room set up was great. Beds were comfortable enough. The pool music was playing loudly all night and we could hear it through our window. The breakfast was meh. Typical premade egg squares, greasy bacon, cereal, yogurt, fruit and bread choices.

Service was decent, pool and hot tub only open 10a-7p and fire pit did not work, all of these things were important to me, as i was there to relax and was barely able to. The fire alarm also beeped on and off all night. The room was very nice though.

Checked in on Sunday and was told the next day when I called that housekeeping is done in the 4th day. I called Wednesday to ask for housekeeping and was told they would come but no one showed up. When I called again was told housekeeping is short staffed and I am the first one for tomorrow. Called Thursday morning and was told they will message housekeeping. At 1.30 pm saw housekeeping clean another room that someone had checked out and requested her to come to clean up my room and change sheets, only to be told I don’t know. Horrible service. They only do housekeeping once your stay is done. Terrible that you get this service at a Hilton brand. I cut short my stay by 4 days with this hotel due to this reason. Will not come back again.

Great room and very friendly staff. Very standard free breakfast buffet but the food quality was the best in this class of breakfast. Staff made sure we had everything we needed. They even came out and lit the fire pit for us.

We only stayed 2 nights as we were passing through but must take a minute to shout out the amazing staff we met! I had an important business meeting and when I went to use my computer mouse, my AAA battery was dead! I called down to the desk, Kim answered, asked me to wait a minute, and said that yes, indeed she had a AAA battery right here in the front desk drawer. THANK YOU KIM!! It was important for me to have breakfast right at 6:30 am as I was working, and Miss Adele and Gwen had a delicious hot breakfast ready to go right at 6:30 am both days, complete with fresh cut-up fruit. Not only was everything ready but both ensured that coffee, eggs, fruit, etc. were refilled quickly. All of these services provided with a smile, friendly, caring, and kind attitude; an attitude of how can I help? Is there anything I can do for you? This type of AAA++++ customer care service is very rare these days and I thank Kim, Miss Adele and Gwen for making my stay amazing!!! Also, the hotel is being renovated and we stayed in one of the newly renovated rooms - very nice!! Highly recommend this hotel!!

Since we were quite indifferent to this hotel I decided to do a pros and cons list. We had a fine stay, and decided that this hotel despite its lack of updates was cleaner and better position than most of the hotels in Jacksonville. So here's the good and the bad, you can make your own decision. Ultimately for the area, I'd say it's the best you can expect f om Jacksonville. It's not fancy, it's not exceptionally clean or updated, but it's also not disgusting and terrifying to stay at. Pros: Comfy mattress, toiletries stocked including extra paper towels. Lots of electrical outlets+ 2usb ports for charging devices Front desk was polite & able to accommodate late checkout. REAL creamers for coffee in rooms! YES! Breakfast included - buffet style. Publix and many many restaurants within walking distance. Very accessible. Hotel was easy to find and clean/nice looking from exterior. Nice quiet outdoor pool with seating areas Ample free parking for guests in private lot Cons: Maintenance needs to do better work here. Kitchen electric outlet missing plate cover (extremely dangerous), tub caulking severely cracked/chipping, holes in bathroom drywall, stains on bathroom walls, conditioner bathtub mount broken off. Hotel needs an update. All electric outlets in room look original (old, yellow, bulky) and need updating for aesthetics. Shower curtain has many pulled fabric pieces hanging off. Carpet is stained. Ceilings have water stains and cracks. Room is exceptionally dull & colorless. No Hilton honors waters or recognition upon checkin. Breakfast was low grade basic, Hampton inn has more options. Basic sausage, potato, omelette, cereal and toasts. No waffle maker. No alternative milks. No smoothies or healthy options. Also no heat protector sleeves for the coffee available.

This property is either very old or has been water damaged. While staff was very nice and the lobby was clean, it was obvious this Hilton property was in a rough area or basic high crime area. Stray cats littered the scene outside. Trash and garbage was in the wooded area where the homeless probably slept. In the fire escape stairwell, the carpet was stained badly with what seemed to me more than coffee spills. My room door scrubbed because it was misaligned probably due to water damage. The bottom of all wooded furniture had the veneer eaten off of it. The ceiling had water spots. In fairness my bed was comfortable but the pillows seem like they were made of deflated air. I do appreciate the softened water though and the dispenser soap smelled really good. All in all this was not a $150 property. I feel like I was taken. This property was worth $75/night at best. I stayed at a better Hilton property not too far away from there that was newish and I paid less.

I like the location, it's central enough to everything that it's really convenient. The staff are always really nice. The first bump we had was our room was not ready by check-in. However, they jumped right on it and had it done within about 30 minutes or so. The other issue is that on previous stays the pillows were decent, but his time they were completely flat. I know this seems like a non-issue, but I had to request extra pillows and the desk said they were in short supply (I wonder why?!). I did get 3 at least. Sadly, like many chains they no longer offer daily cleaning. It's only by request and not a full cleaning. You have to stay 6 days or more and they'll clean on the 5th day. Since this is more and more common I can't knock them for it, but it looks bad for the hotel industry in general. We'll likely stay here again.

Nice location and the breakfast was decent (minus the expired milk). Once we entered the room we noticed lots of hair on the bathroom floor as if the bathroom was halfway cleaned or rushed. I asked the front desk lady to have it cleaned while we stepped out, but of course, it was not done. As soon as we got off the elevator there was trash piled up in the hallway which had the elevators stink (see pic). The pool also closed very early, very strange very inconvenient. There was also a mirror behind the door in the main room. Yes a glass mirror right behind the metal door handle. I was not a huge fan of this property.

The staff were awesome, my room was ready upon arrival. Jo at the front desk was amazing, helpful, and courteous. Definitely one of the better properties. Only negative was the evening reception is only on Wednesday's.

I haven’t stayed at this hotel in about 6 years. The quality has gone down tremendously. There are large stains on the hallway carpets - and all throughout the hotel. And on the first floor hallway, the wallpaper is coming off the walls! The stairs are very stained and dirty. This is unacceptable for a hotel like Hilton. I have pictures that I need to send to their corporate office because I wanted to invite some colleagues over for a work session but was too embarrassed. I work for a large corporation and we are planning to work now in Jax once a month. We had 10 rooms at a nearby hotel - and I would have loved to recommend this property but I cannot with the hotel in such poor condition.

Hotel was alright. Location is good, staff is friendly enough. Breakfast is good, variety and different options per day. The room was spacious. Unfortunately we did not have room service per day, and had to request towels. The pool area was fine but the jacuzzi was not working and was dirty. Was too much kids. There was complementary coffee and free parking. It felt not quite well kept as we expected, but was decent for the few days. Definitely needs more adjustments - would recommend if necessary.

This was the most horrible Hilton stay I have ever had. Years ago I switched from Marriot to the Hilton because Marriott was becoming a hit or miss. I normally choose to stay at Embassy but for some reason the one in Jacksonville was a 2 star. The 1st room’s toilet didn’t work and there were no sofa sheets in the room and the room was dingy! She switched us to another room. We walked in that room and the floor was slippery and room felt wet and nasty. There was pet hair all over the sofa so my son didn’t want to sleep on the sofa bed. There were only 2 towels, a huge disgusting stain on the mattress and a musty smell the permeated the room. This room also felt and looked nasty. Luckily, I had Lysol. I will never stay there again and really disappointed in the Hilton brand. We also felt like the room was swaying for some reason.

Kathryn at the front desk from start to finish was fantastic! She was extremely attentive and considerate the whole stay and was some of the best service I have received in a long time! Thank you, clean and comfortable!

Does not even deserve a rating. Asked for handicapped accessible room, booked weeks ago. Was give room I can’t even get into the shower. Front desk was horrible and no help. Her excuse was she was out all week and just came back today.! What does that have to do with my room being given to someone else..then was told they had plumbing issues and some rooms not available. IIt SMELLS horrible in the halls and the rooms. Dirty stained walls and broken furniture. OVER PRICES . Not worth the money. Holiday Inn Express would be better..

It was the worst hotel I've ever stayed. It looked fine at the first time but since I started settling my stuff in kitchen, many cockroaches appeared... It was a nightmare. My wife reported to a front desk but the lady did nothing. There were many in a toaster so we asked to change and then she told us to bring it to the front desk. we wrapped in a bag and brought but she said there is no spare to change and no apologies or suggesting to change rooms... We checked out immediately. I'll never go back the hotel.

Rooms and staff were good. Keep in mind a few things. Some rooms don't have closets. Breakfast is a meat, eggs, and muffins/yogurt/grits. Juices were very water downed. Missing a few amenities in the room like tissues (had empty boxes in one room but full ones in another) and pillows for pull out couch. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Location is nice too. I would come back here again.

Never ever will stay at this hotel again. For starters. When I arrived at 1:00 in the morning with my dog because it’s supposed to be “pet friendly “ and I have a little Boston Terrier who is like my kid. They gentlemen behind the counter stated that I would be charged with a pet deposit. When I informed him that I had my emotional support animal license and paperwork. He stated that there would be no charge. Enough said. They had watched me go in and out with my do for three days, never once did they tell me that my emotional support animal license was not acceptable. My hotel accommodations was being paid by my Employer and every day I made sure of what my charges were because I was buying things from the sweet shop and just wanted to see what was going to be billed out at the end. When I received my bill in email form . They had slap a $75.00 pet free on it after I left that day. When I called and ask why the pet fee was on my bill and why on day one it wasn’t charged or, they didn’t accept my pet license and paperwork. The manager “Richard” told me it was because we don’t accept emotional support animal licenses. At this time he had never even seen what type of license it was because he didn’t even check me in….. I called the Hilton Dispute line and they had both of us on the phone at the same time. This manager Richard gets on the phone and says” That I snuck my dog in and hangs up” This has to be the most unprofessional and slimy thing I have yet to see. He than goes out of his way before hanging up on me and states that he saw on camera me sneaking my dog in the back door….. Shady shady shady! I could have complain about when I went into my room I had no lights and when I called the front desk. The gentleman said he would come up and see what was going on . At this time I saw a fuse box open and flipped the switches and the lights went on . So I called the front desk and told him that I figured it out. No problem but; I stayed on the fourth floor and there was almost hardly any hot water. I am not one to complain but when I saw what they did to my bill and the manager Richard went on to say that he saw on camera me sneaking my dog in the back of the hotel. Very Slimy! If you need to steal money that bad from honest professional people. You should work at one of the dirty hotels somewhere else . You don’t belong working for Hilton! I have been a Hilton Rewards card member for years and this was totally uncalled for . Bye bye , Slim Shady! Bentley and I will not ever be returning. Thanks for the memories.
