I stayed at this location for two nights. The location of this hotel is close to many happenings in Jacksonville. However, the filthiness of the room can only be described as severe negligence. I was winding down and scrolling through my phone in bed and suddenly a brownish bed bug darted under my pillow. I immediately jumped out of bed. I took off my clothes and noticed red bumps on my arm and stomach. I took a flashlight and noticed two other bed bugs on the pillows. I am utterly distract because I went to complain to management with a video in hand. Management was not there. However staff called and the manager was very dismissive. I have bites all on my arm and stomach. I am leaving for a flight early in the morning and the manager refuses to even talk to me regarding my situation, because “he is not on the clock”. I already gave them grace on the filthy carpet and the heater that smells like burning hay. But, to not be even the slightest bit concerned that you had bedbugs in the hotel that you manage is disgraceful and contemptuous.

Update: I have a very sick, very elderly family member. She had to have surgery and we were at this Hampton Inn for a month. My loved one, prior to hospitalization, had a rather unique medical smell that affected the sheets. We were only there for two days, when after she was hospitalized, I came to the staff, specifically Almera and explained that I'd left a rather hefty tip on the bed in exchange for a fairly deep clean of the room as the odor was intense. Almera had the staff take care of my room. I basically lived at the hospital, but when I came back for showers, etc., the staff including the maids, were all welcoming. Hotel Manager, Dee Beaver (who is the original person that gave me the medical rate) met me one day. I looked at his pink ribbon on his name tag and asked who his loved one was that had battled cancer, he told me that it was a grandparent. He said that he pushed for the medical rate with Hilton because he saw how many people were in a state of need and crises and that they came from all over the world for the extensive care that Mayo Hospital provides. He saw a need and discovered that by giving a medial rate, that it encouraged caregivers and patients and Mayo to come to his hotel. He may not own the hotel, but it is obvious that, like all employees at this location, that he feels like he owns it. Every employee here works hard, with a smile and a level of care that I have personally never seen before. I am a proud Hilton member as Hilton has consistently saved me numerous times, so I am not surprised by how good the staff are, but the fact that the staff care so much for their customers, speaks volumes about this special location. Words cannot even express how very thankful I am for this location. I have a long list of staff that I would like to personally thank but to say that I am thankful for this location, is an understatement. Original post: I went there for a medical issue. Tammy the front manager knows me by name as I come every few weeks. I am thankful when they realized that I had been coming every two weeks for months on end, that they offered me the medical rate to which I greatly appreciate. To say the experience, considering the circumstances, could not be more perfect is an understatement. If you're a caregiver like I am, having the essentials nearby is absolutely vital. There's a target directly across the street, along with a local grocery store and a dollar tree store. I basically live at this hotel when I'm not at Mayo and the staff all know me by name. I choose the same exact room every single time and each time I am given superb service. I don't swim but I have walked past the pool multiple times and am thrilled to see lots of kids enjoying the indoor pool. There are plenty of places to smoke outside that don't get in the way of non smokers. There's a refrigerator and a microwave in the room. The maids work long hard hours and are beyond helpful with the slightest of issues. I cannot recommend them enough during these trying times. Thank you.

Everything was great overall. The only thing was this lady that worked the desk at night seemed to have a slight tone when she was asked a question by my husband when we returned to our room from going out. I guess she felt like we were interrupting her conversation with this other lady she was talking too about some incident that happened. So she was slightly snippy with him . As soon as we walked off she was like anyway...going back to her conversation. I almost said something but I just asked God to bless her cause I try not to respond to everything. The only other thing is that on the listing it says they have a spa but they don't. It has been closed in. Other than that it's a very nice place. Close to everything.

We have stayed here 3 times and each time we have enjoyed our room and the service from the front desk. The only thing we wish is that the front desk would communicate with the cleaning staff about late check outs. Each time we have requested a late check out for noon and every single stay the cleaning staff knocks on the door at 11am...every single time. Also we wish there was a better selection for vegetarians for breakfast.

I cannot say enough about the staff of this hotel. I have traveled many places. The Front Desk Staff are absolutely the nicest, kindest ever! I wish all hotels had Staff this cordial.

Service was great. But the room was dirty. The carpet was very sticky and felt dirty and need to be replaced. When I told the front desk, he said he would make sure they clean it well. I think its not at that point where you can clean this extremely dirty carpet. I had to spread towels on the carpet so I could walk on it. The bathroom caulking was dirty and need to be really cleaned out. The Air condition was extremely loud. It just made me feel yucky and stuffy staying there. I am still squirming just thinking about the stickiness of the carpet. UGHHH

Overall clean, and the rooms are not too big, the carpet was sticky and the bathroom sink leaked. The pool was cold and the hot tub was closed. We didn't eat breakfast.

The lady at the front desk was slightly hostile, one might say passive aggressive. We have been traveling for over a month due to a relatives health issues. We finally got to the Mayo clinic. The bank decided to put a hold on our card, it was cleared up in a few minutes, but until it was the front desk treated us rather poorly. We were going to extend our stay but I'm definitely looking for a new place to spend our money.

I did my customary wipe down when we got there but it just wasn't up to my standards. Room didn't feel clean, there were some stains on the sheets, the mattress was horrible. I have never stayed at a Hampton Inn that wasn't immaculate. Also, they don't tell you that the EV charger belongs to the other hotel next door and you have to pay for it (I have not had that issue at other Hamptons). Not that it mattered because it was broken. So I was running around trying to find an EV charger close to dining so I could get my son to the Mayo Clinic the next morning. I would not stay at this property again.

The floor needed vacuuming. There was no direction being told with signs. Didnt know where the stairs were until i got in room and seen a map. Still there were no signs. Pool and weightroom closed.the lady working behind the counter was really nice. Parking sucked. But location of hotel was convenient

Great location very friendly folks work here. The bed could be replaced & a few good pillows!! Good breakfast and clean area. Pool and jacuzzi are awesome. Room was clean. 90% of hotels fail at cleaning ac filters in the room. Just rinse them takes 3 minutes.

Front desk extremely helpful. My family had a medical emergency while there & the people at front desk very kindly assisted me. Provided information that helped the situation go smoothly. I am very grateful .

My husband is a long-term patient of the Mayo Clinic and this hotel is a God-send. Reasonably priced, close to the Mayo and all kinds of shopping and restaurants. The rooms are clean, fashionable and the beds are comfortable. Each room has a microwave and a mini-fridge which is so convenient for a patient from Mayo who may not be as mobile and needs to bring food in. The staff is accommodating and the service is good. I like that they are security conscious and keep the outside doors locked at night. We strongly recommend them for anyone looking for short or long term stays!

Do not stay here. This place is gross. The rooms are old and dirty, and the second night of my stay I found a cockroach crawling across the desk in plain sight. Not to mention my key kept deactivating and the furniture was outdated and dirty. **Update** Contacted the general manager. Waiting to see if they do the right thing... **Update #2** The general manager was very prompt in responding to the issue and refunded me for my stay

I got charged twice by the hotel. Front desk told me to call on Monday to talk to Manager but when I called around 11.30 AM, manager was not in and asked me to call again later. I would expect someone to take accountability and fix the mistakes rather than making the customer call multiple times. Not a pleasant experience this time.

We stayed here 8 days to go to the Mayo Clinic. The whole staff was amazing and friendly. Breakfast was perfect, rooms and areas kept clean. Centrally located to the beach, Mayo clinic and restaurants. Thank you for the wonderful stay.

Changed from another hotel without reservations because of the location. Was greeted by manager, Dee, who was professional and warm with a sense of humor at the same time. Spent 2 nights. The room was excellent in every way: clean and comfortable with amenities one needs. Because of appointments, didn’t get to sample what looked like a very nice breakfast.

Extremely Pet Friendly. Extremely Clean But........ I NEEDED the jacuzzi and I wish we would have been told it was out of order before we reserved and paid. It was really a disappointment. Recovering from back surgery after the 6 hour drive there I was looking forward to the soak and said that during the reservation.... Just disappointed.. Everything else was wonderful 👍👍👍👍

Good Hampton experience overall but the rooms are definitely tired with older towels, ripped chairs and very old bathroom tiles. If you need a quick, clean overnight this is a fine and the hottub is an added bonus. Staff were very friendly.

This hotel needs some thorough cleaning. The room we had smelled like mold. Just an average room, certainly nothing special.

The reason I gave 5 stars already on our first night is based mostly on staff. The front desk greeter was super nice. I’m sorry I didn’t catch her name. We had a few glitches with our key reader to our room and Tammy was absolutely fantastic. She was on top of it and she got everything in line. Tammy also personally checked our pillows & switched out the down pillows since I’m allergic. She was very quick and efficient. The room is spacious with our king bed and big bathroom. Definitely looking forward to the rest of our stay!

The staff is personable and professional. The kitchen staff was helpful and polite during service hours. I especially appreciate the young lady who quietly cleaned the kitchen area as I sat there and conducted a hour long Zoom training meeting. Thanks for your patience and consideration.

Wonderful hotel! Safe, clean, friendly staff, great breakfast, affordable laundry. Hot tub was not working while we were there, but that's OK. Very close to the hospital and near everything you need.

The rooms were nice and the bathrooms were updated and nice. A little more amenities would have been better, such as vending machines with food. The store inside the hotel is way over priced. The jacuzzi was not working.

When we arrived they charged my sister card when the room had already been paid, at check-in no one told us there was no hot water they it would be on in a hour we took a shower at 2am. I did not sleep cause I have appts at mayo at 6am. The staff was not nice honesty is a great value for a hotel

Dishonest, unprofessional, & dirty. Roaches in our room. Management is unprofessionally rude. I told front desk I had to check out a day early to find another hotel as I had a baby with me & wouldn’t let him stay with roaches in a room. I was told due to Hampton’s 100% money back satisfaction guarantee management would refund me the next day. I called 2 days later I was told Iby the manager I needed to call Priceline to authorize the refund as I had booked through them. That was understandable. I called Priceline they assured me they would start the refund since I had evidence of the roaches (video & pictures proving they were in the Hampton room). Priceline called me back the same day saying management at the Hampton Jacksonville location declined my refund. I called the manager to ask why since he had told me to call Priceline. He refused to take my call the front desk told me he said to contact corporate if I was displeased with his decision. I am a mom who splurged on a nice room despite not having a lot of disposable income. I was assured when I checked out that I would get my refund the next day. Priceline contacted corporate for me as well. Priceline was very helpful but apologetic saying they couldn’t authorize a refund of the hotel wouldn’t give them their share back too. I was only asking for a refund on the night I didn’t stay not on the night I did stay. Despite countless emails sending proof of my stay, my payment receipt, the evidence of roaches in the room, & phone calls with corporate I was assigned 3 different case numbers, given a dollar amount I would get back, give 3 different dates I should see my check in the mail, no check ever arrived. Every time I contacted corporate they would say I was definitely entitled to a refund & it would arrive in x amount of days. I have 4 different emails from corporate saying a dollar amount & a check number that never got authorized according to the last employee I spoke with. He said he has been there 20 years & he has never seen anyone get a refund despite the 100% money back satisfaction guarantee or even having proof of roaches in their room. Dishonest, unprofessional, & dirty. I waited a year to post this to make sure they weren’t going to stand behind their word.

Thank you for for an amazing hospitality. Stayed there October thru first week of January and I never had any issue staying. You guys were always welcoming and smiling. Great customer service and friendly staff Trina, Tammy, Charity, Almere, and the manager David and all that I may have missed never made me feel I wasn’t home. I felt this was my HOME AWAY FROM HOME. Anytime in Jacksonville this will be my place to stay and will defiantly recommend everyone to stay at this hotel.

Hotel was clean. Good value. Nighttime and morning front desk ladies were great. Breakfast wasn't much but the price was right. Hotel is convenient in location since we were there to go to Mayo clinic. Restaurants and shopping nearby but stay away from Miller's pub,it's expensive and food is really not that good. Will stay here again.

The hotel was in a great location for a visit and surgery at mayo hospital. The room was clean and quiet. Bed and pillows were comfortable. I loved that they have a water softener that made the water so soft. I did not partake in the free breakfast, but I checked it out and everything looked good. I would recommend staying at this hotel.

I had a medical trip. The location was ok. No ones fault that there are uturns. The service was excellent. The room was very good. I only wish there had been a restaurant. I was sick and very tired and had to leave to get dinner. Enjoyed free breakfast.
