I have been a Marriott Reward member for over 20 years. This by far, was the worse experiences I have encountered. The staff was rude and not willing to help you what so ever. The room were dingy and had a very foul smell. When I spoke to the General Manager he basically acted as if he didn't care if I stayed with this hotel or not. I stayed at that location because, I had a very sick amily member who was been treated at the Mayo Clinic. Do yourself a favor, drive 8 mile down the road and stay at the Hampton Inn. The staff was courtesy and friendly, and the room was half the price of the marriott and much cleaner. If you are going to have a hotel near a hospital, you should tell your employees to at least smile or say good morning to someone, you just don't know what they are going through I have closed my Marriott Rewards card because this was such a bad experiences.

Smelled as someone had been smoking in it. But there was no other rooms, so we had no choice but open the doors to the balcony and sleep like that. Kids pressed on the stopper in sink and it clogged, couldn’t get it out. Called, they said no one is available. Next morning we left, came back to the room after 9pm. Beds were maid, sink was still clogged and full of water, coffee machine wasn’t clean… but than, there was no laundry bags, so I took their recycle blue basket and put dirty clothes in there and set it by the closet, they took it. I understand it’s my fault and I should put it in there, but come on, where is a common sense, there was a pink kids Barbie pajama just on top. There was other more important things to do which was not done, before going for recycle.

I was really shocked when I read others ratings on this motel. The man at the desk set the mood by speaking "at " me with his nose extended in the air. He mentioned I got the last room for the night. The room smelt worse then some barracks I lived in, in the 1970's. My statement was immediately "brushed aside" with a "well it's the last room and someone slept in it last night." It was only bearable by a "double dose" of the maintenance guy spraying. The best thing I could recommend for the building was a wrecking ball and complete rebuild. Hopefully the "person" at the front desk will be inside at the time. I'm scheduled for surgery in several weeks and will not be staying there. I pity those who feel it necessary to stay there.

We just got back from our stay at Marriot in Jacksonville by Mayo Clinic. The price, I thought was rather high but we accepted that because of the proximity to the Mayo Clinic. Our primary problem was with the water pressure in the shower which was so low and only moderately warm that we could not use it for showers. (We were in room 226, 8/2/22). We ended up having to use it for baths only by turning the water all the way to hot and letting it run for 5-10 minutes just to fill the tub with 5 inches of water. I know, we should have asked for someone to come up and fix it or switch us to another room but we were busy with Mayo clinic related issues and we didn't have time for any of that.

Rude front desk staff at check in and observed again when guests asked for a complimentary bottle of water as so many other hotels would provide with a smile… The older gentleman at the desk rudely told the guests that water is provided just across the lobby. I went over and drew a small cup of water which had an awful taste and wasn’t very cold. I didn’t drink it. Also: sheets are like sandpaper, room has very musky odor, refrigerator looks like something from the 1960s and wasn’t very clean. Air conditioner rattles, sink stinks when you draw hot water, shower water stream is very weak, hallway carpet is disgusting. Simply stated, as a 14 year loyal Bonvoy member this is the worst valued 32,000 point hotel I’ve ever stayed in. A wrecking ball will be an improvement. The ONLY good think about this hotel is that you may walk to Mayo Clinic.

Loud hotel. I had to stay the night here in their "Care Hotel" part of their building. Not sure why they allow guests to be so very loud in this part of the hotel where patients have just been discharged from Mayo for outpatient surgery. I read another review that said he could hear the elevator all night long. I was nowhere near the elevator. The walls are paper-thin and the other guests were shouting and partying. Carrying on for hours on end. Again, unsure of why this would be allowed when patients are recovering from surgery. I would never stay here had Mayo not paid for the night. The rooms are extremely tiny. The AC stopped working in the middle of the night. The balcony has about 12 inches of space to stand on. I had a higher expectation for this hotel. I've stayed in other Courtyard Marriotts and they were really nice. This particular location is subpar. Which is sad, considering the cost and that it's located on the Mayo campus.

The room just looking at it was nice but when I placed a white rag to see if there was anything on the counter I got dirt and grime, My skin is sensitive so some things and the couch was not sprayed down or something because I got a rash from it, other than that I enjoyed the poolside view, and the Bistro.

My biggest issue with this hotel is the noise suppression. I ended up with a room next to the elevator which conjoined to the room next door. The door between the two rooms was paper thin. You could hear everything from the TV to telephone conversations. That room was also just outside the elevator which was super loud after hours. The rooms are okay but are getting dated. The drawers did not stay closed so I had to put something under the front to keep them closed. The cabinets are beat up and we're falling apart. The staff is extremely nice and very accommodating. Anything I needed they were always very quick and friendly. From the front desk to the maintenance to the house keepers, they were all fantastic! The pool and gym are very well kept and a great addition for long stays. This location also has an on-site laundry room which I was unable to find online. There is a small canteen which has some necessities in a pinch. Overall this would be a great experience if it weren't for the exceptionally disrespectful guests.

The Marriott is just okay. So far, it’s been incredibly noisy. I can hear everything my upstairs occupants do. I can hear conversations as I pass doors. The bathroom door is strangely close to the toilet, but the balcony overlooking the pool in my room is a very nice touch and rest of the room itself is presented quite nicely. Like I said before, it’s just okay. Edit: the restaurant charged me for a meal I didn’t eat because I didn’t like. That was a waste of money. Things do not seem to be improving.

I stay at courtyards exclusively when I travel for many reasons, but especially because they all have a small restaurant. I ate both dinner and breakfast, and everything I ordered was delicious and plentiful. Special orders were not a problem. I ordered chicken wings with the sauce on the side, and they arrived just like that. The wait staff was top-notch, cheerful, and friendly. I stayed at this one because I had an appointment at the Mayo clinic. It has been the busiest courtyard that I've stayed at for quite a while. Like all Courtyards, it was clean, the front desk operated like a well-oiled machine, and the staff went above and beyond in response to requests. My room was excellent, it was clean and the furniture was modern and functional.

The only good thing about this hotel is the location in proximity to Mayo. It’s within walking distance. Everything else was disappointing. The beds are incredibly uncomfortable (don’t stay here if you have a bad back/hip!). The rooms smell damp. The walls are paper thin; I could hear everything (conversations, people coughing, etc) in the neighboring rooms and hallway. The rooms are outdated and gross. Dirty floors. The mini fridge is tiny and the microwave is very old. The sink faucet is so small and covered in hard water deposits. I can’t believe the high price and such low quality of this hotel…Mayo really needs a better option.

This was a good hotel. It was right on campus at the mayo clinic. It was within walking distance of all the appointments. The only thing I didn't care for was the kitchen. It was right next to the restroom. The restroom sink doubled as the kitchen sink, and it came with one microwave and one very small refrigerator that fit under the counter. Otherwise the help was very friendly and courteous

We have stayed here multiple times and always try for a room here due to location and access to Mayo Clinic. It's close to restaurants, shopping, and entertainment. The bistro inside the hotel is pretty decent for hotel food. There is a little store inside the lobby just in case something is needed immediately. Staff is pretty helpful and the rooms are always clean. Beds are decent for hotel beds and pillows are comfortable. The one thing that can be frustrating is if you leave anything out food wise, even crackers or cough syrup, ants will come and try to get into everything. So everything we had we hung up in the closet and put it in the microwave not leaving anything out. Most likely we will stay here again as we have been back a few times.

We had originally come to Jacksonville to visit the Mayo Clinic for the week to get evaluated for a transplant. We decided to stay the weekend and drive to Clearwater for some R&R. I ended up in the ER Friday night. It was late when I finally got out of the hospital. The Marriott Courtyard is on the Mayo Clinic campus. We were tired and stopped there because it was close. I'm giving this hotel a 5 because of location. I asked about Mayo Clinic discounts and the price was still high considering you can get a suite at Residence Inn for much cheaper. The rooms were small and did not have the typical Marriott luxury style feel. In my opinion they should lower the price quite a bit or revamp the hotel and make the rooms bigger and more luxurious

We have stayed many, many nights here due to the location on the Mayo campus. You just can’t beat the location for a day where you have multiple tests throughout the day. But after our last stay will try to find other accommodations nearby of which there are many within a few miles. The staff are fine but the hotel is old and dated. Dark halls. At a premium price too. Much higher than warranted for the property. It is not what you would expect from a Courtyard. Perhaps when the Hilton opens on campus in 2025 this one will get a very very needed update.

So convenient to Mayo Jacksonville and the every 10 to 15 minutes shuttle take you and picks you up. No shuttle to airport, but you can't have everything. Nice restaurant. Staff really look after their clientele who often have disabilities.

Really lovely plants and landscaping. Great location within walking distance to clinic. Pleasant employees that try to help. Some rooms are small but all are clean. Restaurant serves good food that's hot, but it does not serve lunch.

Thank you, CourtYard Marriott, for such a wonderful resort hotel experience... We really enjoyed our stay at your resort hotel. The rooms are luxuriously clean and beds, are very comfortable. This beautiful hotel was close to Mayo Clinic and I loved it. The room was comfortable and customer service was through the roof. More people should stay here if they want to be in comfortable hotel near Mayo Clinic.

Since it's been raining, I've settled for dining in Hotel Bistro, best decision ever. Service excellent and food OMG 😲, but the cashier amazing, the cook I could take home and waiter. Beautiful spirit.

They charged my credit card an extra $250 for what I have no idea and can't get answers. It can't be from room messed up or smoking. I have never smoked and was there for a total knee replacement

Starting with the service I was surprised to find the staff was just neutral - not pleasant, or unpleasant just earning a paycheck. The older man seemed to just always have his face in the computer monitor every time he was working and never greeting guest. Our room was fairly clean and the hallways and common area could use newer carpet. Room entries and high traffic areas were worn and dirty. The pool was nice; however, it may have not been vacuumed and cleaned for months. Dead leaves a debris on the bottom of the pool. The outside of the hotel was safe clean and very nice landscaping. Overall the hotel rates 3 stars and certainly tarnishes the Mayo Clinic standard of excellency. The price is overinflated for what the customer receives.

Overall the stay was typical of any other Marriott. The front desk service provided by Rafael was sub par. We arrived a few minutes before checkin so we waited for our room to be cleaned. At first we were told it would be 20 min. While checking in another guest (from our group) arrived at the front desk. Another rep was already assisting the guest, but then Rafael decides to pause helping us to try and help the other guest. Anyhow, it wasn’t until an hour later we got our room. Meanwhile at least 5 other families arrived from our group and received their rooms having similar accommodations to what we requested. To say the least this was disappointing after a long drive. No apologies provided for the inconvenience only terrible customer service.

As the most expensive hotel in the area, it's disappointing that this hotel was simply...meh. What's really disappointing, however, is the price being jacked up for the convenience of being next to the hospital. It's disgusting that this company is making money at the expensive of patients and their families. It's not worth the money. No continental breakfast, out dated interior, simply ok rooms.

I stay here when I have to go to the Mayo Clinic. The staff is always so nice and helpful. I've never stayed more than 2 days at a time so I haven't dealt with the cleaning staff, but my room is always spotless when I get there. They also have a great bistro inside the hotel. It's very convenient for late night arrivals. I always feel comfortable and safe while staying here.

Hotel rooms are spacious. All of the staff is really helpful and nice. Pillows are really bad and old (they’ve formed clumps inside), water pressure is horrible and breakfast is even worse.

  • 3/5 Teresa L. 2 years ago on Google
The rooms are good, very comfortable bed. Shower has good hot water supply, lacks a bit on pressure but still very adequate. All employees are very nice. The only fall back is the prices at the in hotel restaurant, and there's nothing else around except at the Mayo clinic, (but the bigger Cafe closes at 3:30 so no supper there). Better pack an extra wallet or some food.

  • 3/5 Salty M. 2 years ago on Google
Much too expensive. Everything there is too expensive considering the only reason you'd stay is because you are going through medical hell. The employees that show they care are far and few between. Take out a second mortgage if you want the convenience of being close to the clinic.

Outstanding Courtyard by Marriott This hotel offers top notch service with a nice cafe and very comfortable rooms. Located on the campus of Mayo Clinic you can walk or shuttle to your appointments The rooms are very modern and up to date. The bathroom is very spacious and offers a walk in shower The cafe does an excellent job preparing made to order breakfast The staff is extremely helpful and caring I highly recommend this hotel

We got a great deal on our overnight stay so for the price we paid, I’m giving it 5 stars. The pros; the staff was very nice. We ate breakfast at the Bistro this morning and the ladies were very friendly and the food was great. The hotel manager helped navigate us to a local beach. The room and the rest of the hotel was clean. The cons; the hotel is clean but an exterior paint job would go a long way. The outdated exterior paint really brings the hotel appearance down. Our room had an unpleasant, somewhat damp smell. Overall, we were very happy with the hotel for the price we paid and appreciated the staff kindness.

Check in clerk 7/28 was not very friendly. Check out clerk however was more nice. Was hoping for facial tissue in the room. Television signal intermittent at best. Clean room but a bit pricey considering the overall quality and appearance of the facility.

  • 5/5 Michelle L. 1 year ago on Google
The staff is very professional and accommodating. The rooms are always clean. We have been staying at this hotel on and off for 18 months while receiving treatment at the Mayo Clinic which we can either walk to or take the shuttle.

This hotel is way overpriced. I feel it takes advantage of people who have loved ones in the hospital there. $300/night is gouging. The room was immaculate and very nice, but in no way worth that price.

  • 2/5 john p. 1 year ago on Google
This was a surprise for a Courtyard by Marriott ... and not in a good way. It is showing it age, both inside and out, and it is ridiculously overpriced. I guess they feel they are entitled to the rate because they are located on Mayo Clinic campus. Other newer, better facilities which are convenient to Mayo are only a few minutes away.

  • 2/5 Karen H. 1 year ago on Google
Disappointed with my experience here, not worth the $300/night. I stayed in roo. 308. Pros - clean, quiet, dual thermostats, balcony. Cons - shower pressure at 6am almost nonexistent, arrived at 4 but couldn't check in until 5:30 because the current occupants were Platinum members and allowed to stay until 4. I pre-checked in around noon but the mobile key only works for Platinum members apparently. I was told that we would receive a complimentary breakfast for the inconvenience, but when we arrived we were told that there was no note on our account about a complimentary breakfast.

This is a really nice hotel and it’s walking distance to the Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville. It takes exactly 5 minutes to walk from the lobby of the hotel to the main lobby of Mayo. The room was nice, bed was comfortable, Wi-Fi was good and the room was clean. The staff were extremely friendly as well. It’s a little pricey due to its location but well worth it if you have to visit the Mayo Clinic

  • 5/5 Eric A. 1 year ago on Google
Hotel and staff are wonderful. Stayed here twice while visiting Mayo for spine surgery. The Bistro is ok, but watch your bill. They upcharge for things that are included so be careful, but that's not the hotels fault.

  • 4/5 T T. 1 year ago on Google
We had a good stay here on two instances. Front desk staff was nice and the place is well maintained. Hotel is a bit outdated. Plenty of parking spaces. Very quiet and green located just next to the hospital. Would stay here again.

I am visiting the Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, FL. and this hotel is well located and within walking distance. The room is a awesome well stocked even the coffee in the room is pretty good.

  • 2/5 Ray L. 1 year ago on Google
You would think that a hotel charging $200-$300+ per night would have nice rooms and at least free breakfast. The room was marginal and they should have a 4-star free breakfast for this price. Sadly, we had no choice due to a "stay to play" hockey tournament. If I had a choice there is no way I would stay at this place. There are way better options for less money.

My stay at the Marriott has been the best experience I ever had, the people working here are friendly and nice, and being close to Mayo is so convenient, see you soon in the future Thanks for everything.....Richard Andilina

This is a much dated hotel badly in need of a reno. It is on property owned by Mayo Clinic so is very convenient if you need to have a procedure.

  • 5/5 Jim M. 1 year ago on Google
If you need to go to Mayo for an early or late appointment from out of town this is the place to go. Walk from the hotel to the Mayo Clinic. Room was nice plenty of room and they have a restaurant that is not bad either. Should we need to stay close to Mayo this will be our only place to go for the convince.

  • 1/5 Justin P. 1 year ago on Google
Our team was placed in this hotel and we were made to feel like an inconvenience to here. This hotel should no longer accept sports teams. It's not only a disservice to the sports teams but to their other guests visiting the mayo clinic.
