Most disgusting place I have EVER stayed at. Roaches every room! Employees absolutely horrible! They respond with "I don't wanna deal with it" no clean towels for 4 days, shower is falling apart. Mold, filthy and just overall GROSS! Place and employees should be condemned. Wouldn't even recommend my pet staying in this Place!

I travel a lot across the country on business. And I see many different hotels. This hotel is far from the worst. But the second time I will not stay here. The room has an unpleasant musty smell. Mold in the bathroom. Water flows everywhere at about the same temperature, there is virtually no hot water. There is such a pressure in the tap that it is impossible to do anything - neither wash nor shave. But the staff was almost friendly. Upon check-in, the hotel holds a security deposit. But at the same time, nothing was written about the deposit when booking. I don't like such surprises. All in all, it's a waste of money.

I wouldn’t even give it a 1 star. The rooms are so nasty looking I am scared to lay on the bed much less sit on the bed. I begged 3 times for a towel and wash cloth because we had 3 people and they showed me a “picture” of their being a towel in the bathroom. Yeah. But there is 3 of us. The outlets don’t work. Unless u are downstairs the WiFi doesn’t work. The lamps won’t cut on even tho plugged in. I plugged in phones to charge and they won’t charge because the outlets do t work. We are going to Gator Bowl tomorrow and need charged phones for GPS. THEY REFUSED AT THE FRI T DESK TO ACCOMMODATE US AND TOLD US TO GO ACROSS THE STREET AT 1am to get a room there. We were too scared in this area to do that especially because we can’t get the entire refund right away. The front desk was so condescending that I was so embarrassed in front of my children. We have stayed at many nice motels and this one ruined out Gator Bowl stay. There is no refrigerator or coffee pot like the website states. So we stayed here all night starving. The restaurant and bar would not allow a 13 in to eat. So we couldn’t leave our child. I’m so disgusted I can’t stand myself. I really wanted a once in a lifetime experience with my children. I am so embarrassed. Can’t get the TV TO WORK. ASKED THE FRONT DESK TO COME HELP US AND THEY REFUSED. WE ARE MISERABLE

Wretched,!!! I don't even smoke and the house keeping claims that I did and so I never got my deposit back! I don't smoke and I cleaned the room before I left it all the first sheets in s like and still didn't get my deposit back,!! That's a scam and a way to steal people's money

Blood on the ceiling doors walls and furniture all damaged. Truly a slum lords dream. Says pet friendly but then will not accommodate for pets being pets. Rained alot during our stay and wet paws dirtied up the bedding asked for a new set was met with a disagreeable manager. Room was dirty and wrecked but had "just been cleaned" outlets had been removed so the TV couldn't be used. Water pressure was non exsistant. Bathroom door didn't shut no fridge no microwave. Was in town to buy a house and they refused to rent to us for another night because we were "problem" guests because we complained. If you stay here trust me you get what you paid for these rates aren't dirt cheap for a reason.

Staff is very nice and helpful. The new owners are still working on fixing the place up and doing a good job. Been here for about two months now and I have seen it progressing nicely. Rooms aren't perfect but it's still getting fixed. Location isn't the greatest but they have a security guard that makes it much better. It's a work in progress and looks good so far. The pool is clean and open from 10am to 8:30 pm for motel customers only.

They say the rooms are cheap because they're remodeling. They are still the same price as the super 8 hate to say the super 8 is much better. Light fixtures are falling off the wall scared to use them the bed skirting was gross. And that was an understatement. And the towel rack in the bathroom was on the floor with tissue used tissue on it think twice before you go here.

This hotel charged an arm and a leg for one night just for me to be given an extremely dirty room! Literally the room was trashed, the tub had black spots all in it and mildew, the wall panels were coming off, the toilet was broken, the bathroom light didn’t even work! There also was left over food and trash from the previous person there and the microwave was disgusting! I wouldn’t dare trust the sheets even being clean, just HORRIBLE! This was completely unacceptable, Please don’t not waste your money here…not worth it, very unsanitary.

I stayed for 3 days and I really thought it was fantastic, the custumer service was wonderful, the room was very clean and with a pleasant smell, they also have a super varied menuof food in the pool and the food is very good and fresh so there is no need to go shopping elsewhere. They have free parking. I highly recommend it if you are traveling and need a place to spend the night in Jacksonville.

The staff was OK room was OK . told only dogs welcome but didn't hesitate to charge pet fee for cats. No hot water. Supposed to be moved after 3 days but didn't have a room til our last day there so moved to another motel. Also pool was not usable. Needed an inspection.

Where do I begin??? If there was a 0 Star review, I’d give it. Booked for 4 days. Pulling up, we knew it was a mistake. It looked like the doors of the rooms were pried open with a crow bar. People just sitting on the curbs staring at us. I told my wife to wait in the car. I checked us in just to check the room out. By the way, rooms are not guaranteed a fridge or microwave according to the posting on the reception desk. “Guaranteed” was spelled wrong. Got the key and drive to the room. It’s was a “suite”. Sure it was. Door didn't seal tight. You could see the outside between the door and door frame. Cool. Walking in, our eyes immediately began to water and the mold smell had me gagging. After about 7 seconds we walked out, went back to reception area and got a refund immediately. I was asked why and I told them what I’ve posted here. The ladies at the front desk were nice. No issues getting the refund. I’m sure it happens at this place all the time. Also, there were 2 pit bulls running free around the pool and supposed court yard. Keep driving and find somewhere else.

I have never met such good people. The whole staff from upper management to the grounds crew is not only kind but care about you. I came here down and out and they have not only helped me keep a roof over my head but encouraged me to keep going with life. The rooms are solid and well taken care of. Comfy beds, and the breakfast is bangin! Great weekly rates too.

It is a one star or maybe just a half of star. The lady that cooks breakfast is nice. The coffee and grits are good. The young black lady and the older white lady that works the front desk are nice..... That is all the hotel has going for it. I was not brave enough to try the pool. The pictures online are not at all what the location in Jacksonville looks like. Maybe that's a different location that you see on the website. When we arrived I guess some people live there like an extended stay hotel and one family could not make rent I am thinking because they were by the front doors with all their luggage gathered waiting to migrate. It immediately made me think of the movie the Florida Project. When you enter the lobby has an appearance of a 1960's diner with early 90s booty call R&B love songs playing very loudly. Most likely because of the bar on the side of the building that keeps people fueled up with liquor enough to stay in the parking lot fighting all night. I spent the two nights we stayed there on our vacation watching out the window to be sure that bullets were not going to come flying in on my husband and 9mo. old son. That is probably why when i checked in I was told the people from out of town could stay on the second floor in the inside rooms. No elevator. When you get to the top of the stair case the base boards and ceiling obviously needs repairs. Our room had two sinks, one did not drain. No fridge, no microwave. Our bathtub drain stopper did not even fit the bath tub not that I was going to let any of us take a bath in it anyways. Two towels for a family of three. Two cheap rolls of toilet paper for a family of three for a whole weekend. When we left to go to MOSH and visit family on the other side of town I reported that the TV in our room did not work. I asked for more towels, soap, comp. shampoo.... I returned to a dirty pair of boxers on our bed that was not ours. The two dirty towels taken but no clean ones left. No shampoo, toilet paper......Went to the front desk and asked for some. I was given some soap bars and two damp towels.... This place may as well just be turned into more affordable housing for HUD, since that is more along the lines of what it is, so that out of town families trying to go on vacation with their children don't get mislead anymore into booking here.

DO NOT STAY HERE!!!! if I could give it 0 stars I would. Got put in a room the bed and floor was soaking wet and smelled like mildew so bad. so I went to the office and got moved to another room and it was the exact same! When I went back to the office she was very rude and said we would just have to leave bc she’s already moved us twice and she wasn’t going to move us again. DO NOT STAY HERE!! I can’t say it enough, DO NOT STAY HERE!

Very decent location. The staff was excellent and very helpful. Newly bought so they are updating slowly which is understandable. I can't wait to see what it can turn into. Paid $75 for the room which was a steal considering the other hotels I looked at were over $100 in very dangerous areas. Thank you for the hospitality and a great environment.

This hotel is seedy, at best. The sheets were wet, and had a large stain from whatever liquid was on them. The tables had ashes all over them and burn marks. The toilet was barely standing and had a piece of wood holding it up. The room smelled of ammonia or urine. We left after being there for only five minutes and we were told we could not have a refund. The front desk workers seemed to be in denial about the issues. We were kind to them, but received very curt and uncaring responses. I would never recommend this place to ANYONE. We ended up sleeping in our car instead. Save yourself the hassle and book elsewhere.

Feb 23, 23 Room was nothing fancy but for the price it was nice. Room was clean and close to where we was going. We asked for more towels and they brought them right to us (but was a limit of 4 towels because we had 4 people.) I would stay here again

The rooms are very nice looking and bright. See pictures. Modern looking furnishings. Accent wall and decorative mirror add a nice aesthetic touch. Plenty of tables and chairs. Air conditioning is cold. Water is hot with really good water pressure. Pool available and open. Friendly staff. Lots of security cameras. Nighttime security guard. Vending machines with drinks, snacks, and toiletries available. Ice machine works. They work with third-party booking companies such as Agoda and Priceline. However, the best rate is paying by the week directly at desk. $360/ week includes hot breakfast. Right off highway but no noise pollution from the traffic. Pool view rooms available and highly recommended. Smart TV in the room and the wifi works well. They charge a $50 refundable deposit that must be paid by card upon arrival. Only negative is no fridge and no microwave in some of the rooms. I brought my own microwave and cooler and it works for me. I would recommend this place for both short term and extended stay patrons. There is also a bar/ restaurant at the lobby but have not tried it yet. Walking distance to a gas station and less than two miles to Walmart. In conclusion I think it's a good value for the money and a very comfortable stay.

I was awakened by 4 drunks outside my room at 1:45 am. One woman was literally sitting outside my door smoking. Did not feel safe or rested staying here. Very disappointing. Bartender at their night club obviously overserved these people.

This is the former Stars Rest Inn. Looks like the new owners are putting some money into fixing it up, which it really needed. My room this stay was much improved from a year ago. Still reasonably priced.

Was not even allowed to book due to the fact that we have "too many people" because I have three children. Was not even asked ages or approximation of how the sleeping arrangements would work. Considering I have three children (2 girls less than 2 years apart) (and a boy) and was looking for a weekly rate based on living by the use of a twin cot bed, which is how we have been living for three months now!! I was thoroughly disgusted with the rude and blatantly disrespectful "agent" that answered the phone so I will NEVER be looking into this hotel again!! Wouldn't it have been funny if I was asking for a weekly rate of TWO ROOMS because I was going to get rooms next door to each other and have the boys is one room and the girls in one room. NO SALES EXPERIENCE NOR CUSTOMER RESPECT!!

Disgusting! It was so bad, so initially I booked the regular room , went there and when I checked the bed there were stains all other it , on the sheets , so went back and asked for an upgrade to the so called SUITE , which is 100$ per night , I said whatever, I’ll pay, I just need to sleep . Went up to the suite , no small fridge , no microwave, no channels on tv , no shampoo $conditioner , when on the pics online it clearly shows that those are in the bathrooms Hair everywhere! Sink , bathtub, floor Couch was all stained. The only reason why we booked this hotel is because we needed place to park our semi truck ,that’s why we stayed and didn’t leave the next second, also the pics online are so far from reality , please be careful when you book this place,.

I paid for 4 days, I stayed one night. I had absolutely NO hot water in my room, when I went to check out the next morning. I told the lady at the front, I had no hot water for a shower and had to take a COLD shower, she told me that the hot water heater had been broken for weeks(that would have been nice to know upon my arrival). I still have not received the rest of my nights stay nor, have I received my deposit back(considering legal action at this point) every time I call to inquire about my funds, they are "busy" and I get put on hold for 1 hour and 32 mins. I'm certain they keep doing this in hopes that I will give up and just let them have my money that they certainly do not deserve, FALSE advertising for one thing. All of the rooms do NOT have a mini fridge or a microwave, I was told after the fact that I was given the wrong key card and had to walk all the way back around to the lobby, just to be told to hold on while he answered the phone right in my face and stayed on the phone, never to even get an apology. He took his sweet time remaking a key card that should have been correct in the first place. The only nice and courteous person I encountered was the security card, he stayed with me the entire time to make sure I got back to my room safely and was able to get in, not too mention but the security guard is the one that made me aware that I was given the wrong key card for the room I was assigned apparently there are different color key cards( I was supposed to have a white one)( smh). DO NOT GO STAY AT THIS HOTEL!! HORRIBLE FRONT DESK PERSONNEL. Too many bums and street walkers, staring at you like you're a piece of fresh T- Bone Steak.

The staff are rude, there is no workout room, there are no breakfasts, even though you get charged for them. You don't get sheet changeouts, you don't get towel change out unless you put yourself on a list when you're supposed to get sheets and towels changed almost daily. These people false advertise and charge for things that you do not even receive, half of the rooms have black mold with paint OVER IT

My room had dirty towels. I looked like bodily fluids on the walls and carpet. The air barely worked. The room was just disgusting. Almost like a 30 min hotel would be. Ughhhh. Never again.

  • 2/5 Ryan M. 2 years ago on Google
Prices for an average night stay were reasonable. However, charging $15/night pet fees are not. I don’t feel I should be responsible for offsetting others’ pets who may justify charging fees for them to stay. I can only speak for my own pet and the non-impact she has on the property. Pet fees are (in most cases) junk fees.

  • 1/5 Joshua M. 6 months ago on Google
The service was the worse I ever been too. The Lady was rude and she was smoking her cigarette while I was trying to get someone to check me in. When I said something to her bout some help, she blew her smoke in my face while I was holding my nine month old baby girl. So I will never go back there and I will tell anybody that need to stay somewhere not to stay there

Front desk agent Ariel was very helpful and caring. My key card wasn’t working and the housekeeper knew exactly what to do to reprogram it. Breakfast was good but not included unless you’re staying on an extended stay. Only bad thing is maintenance came and banged on my door and woke me from a nap asking if i called for electrical (which I did not).

  • 1/5 Lori G. 10 months ago on Google
The room, omg, awful. Nothing works. If it had been clean, or would have been tolerable. They charged a deposit in case there was damage. You've got to be kidding me. The sink and toilet leaks, water all over the floor.

This was an amazing experience. This hotel has changed alot. The new owner is awesome and they have really cleaned it up. We were very pleased with the friendly service and the care they showed. This will be our new hotspot for our Jacksonville stays.

  • 2/5 Devon S. 1 year ago on Google
I'm giving them an extra star because I have actually stayed in one hotel that's worse. The nice thing is that it's close to downtown Jacksonville. And the staff are friendly enough. The rooms are not great, with bugs and essentially falling apart. But the linens appear clean. I won't use a black light though.

The hotel is not terrible but not amazing. But we love the little bar there. They have karaoke every night it seems. And games. We go for the games and the awesome bartender.

  • 3/5 Meg H. 2 years ago on Google
The place was reasonably priced. However there was no hot water, there was no refrigerator, there was no trash can, there was no shampoo, just soap. We had a socket that was not covered in the room and could have been potentially dangerous. The staff was very nice very courteous.
