Started well ended terribly. My wife and I stayed here with the intent of temporary housing as the the Extended Stay motto declares, found ourselves with no prior communication by the General Manager Carmen, that our reservation made 24 hours in advance would not be honored. This is after we had already spent 6 days and $500 at this facility with again the primary intent from the beginning of our stay whom I checked in with initially the GM Carmen, temporary housing. My wife who has a 100% status of disability and whom unfortunately was hit by a vehicle in a crosswalk 2 weeks prior from the time we began our stay at this Extended Stay America location and was bound to a wheelchair were ceremoniously discarded as something that you would just dispose of in a trash receptacle. Then it only gets worse. After we have checked out and have had to remove most of our belongings, my vehicle in which I was having operational difficulties with became inoperable. So I made arrangements to have my vehicle towed with my AAA membership on the following day in which i could be present for the tow truck operator to validate my membership. I spoke with the front desk and let them know that I would come in the following days to retrieve my vehicle. Low and behold you can already guess what happened when I arrived at the property. As far as I can establish management (G. M. Carmen) had my vehicle towed to the nearest impound. The cost of retrieval from the impound was $200. All in all $700 dollars later after our stay at this location I am more than disgruntled. What ever this Manager(Carmen) bias was toward us the guests at this property were unfounded and completely unsubstantiated. Therefore her (G.M. Carmen) authority to inflict as much difficulty into our lives as she did impose with complete disregard for the well being of those that are paying guests should be uneuivacably removed. My suggestion for any others that may be contemplating a stay at this location, BEWARE and if you have another location' or property within the same vicinity that you are debating to yourselves in which to stay PLEASE PLEASE do so. Just a note about the other employees working at this property, none of what I have just described is on them and they were courteous, friendly, and very helpful. As for the management (G.M Carmen) not so much. GOD bless and I hope that someone may find this recommendation helpful.

My first impression was very positive; the staff was friendly and accommodating. The room met expectations, although they weren't particularly high. For a longer stay, I recommend not paying the full amount in advance. If you check out early, you will be charged the difference between your total payment and the recalculated rate. I was initially assured of a refund of over $1,500. However, subsequent inquiries resulted in evasive responses. They argued that the payment was processed through headquarters, not the field, and that I should talk to them. Headquarters could only be reached through a hotline and I was informed that management had investigated the imposition of this fee and unfortunately no refund was possible, but I was never contacted by them. It was pointed out that I had signed this condition. Hotline people are very well trained to skip over your reasoning. You will not be given any supervisor information or company contact information. Therefore, I recommend reading all terms and conditions carefully. If an early departure is expected, it is advisable to look for better accommodations. Suddenly you find yourself paying double for much better options. Save yourself a costly lesson, as I did, and choose an alternative provider.

First it says it’s in town center which it’s not. Second once i booked a room with a queen bed, I received a room with a full bed and once i asked about the bed and to change my room to a queen bedroom they said all they have is a full bed sized beds. You pay for a queen bed and receive a full bed. They don’t have queen beds. “Free breakfast” they breakfast is literally couple of lame muffins that don’t even taste good and a to go small bag of oats! It’s literally the worst. I extended my stay for one more day and once i was confirming my stay, they told me i have to check out and check back in even if i extended my stay. I literally had to check out by 11am and wasn’t able to check back in till 3pm or i had the option to make early check in as pay extra money which I didn’t want to pay them 1 extra penny during my stay. Upon checking in you have to pay extra 100$ which isn’t mentioned anywhere and in my case i had to pay another 100$ cause i had to “check back in” The rooms aren’t that clean and most of the plugs in the room weren’t working and wasn’t able to even charge my phone properly except in the kitchen. Oh and upon checking in, i went to the room after realizing that the bed wasn’t a queen bed but rather a full bed, there weren’t even pillows lol i had to ask for pillows cause they didn’t have a single pillow on the bed and once i asked i received 1 pillow and they said they don’t have any lolll what a hotel that doesn’t even have pillows!!! I literally saw all the bad reviews before booking and was like no I don’t think it’s that bad, but turned out to be VERY VERY VERYYYY BAD so please don’t ever ignore the reviews and never book to stay at this disgusting hotel!

Please do not be fooled by the pretty pictures of how clean the rooms look. This place is filthy. The lobby smells like cigarette smoke. The rooms smells like a dirty club. However, it’s affordable and in a great location. But the sheets and the towels smell like they just folded them right after someone reserved the room. This place has termites, roaches and bedbugs. I would love to call the health department. The halls are filthy. The appliances not work. 7/18/23

My daughter and granddaughters stayed with me in two rooms. First, the pest control came to both rooms asking to come in and treat the rooms. She said no for both rooms because the children were still sleeping and did not need to be exposed to the chemicals. The next knock was the manager on my daughter's door asking her to step outside, which she couldn't because she wasn't presentable. Then she began blatantly accusing her of having 2 black men inside her room earlier and insinuating that she was prostituting! That she would not be renewing the room either. After she left, we made the decision to go somewhere else. When she called the manager and said we were leaving even though we had paid for 2 nights for 160 / night. The manager said that we wouldn't be getting the money refunded for the 2nd night because it was after 2 pm. What an experience. You can overlook the cheap old dressers and furniture but not the rude, inappropriate conduct of the mansgement.

Bugs everywhere in the room! I reserved 7 nights and I stayed for only 4 and they refused to give me my money for the remaining 3 nights that I didn’t stay. Terrible experience, I do NOT recommend this place. It was dirty and air quality was terrible as well. I woke up with stuffy nose each morning. They meet the bare minimum. Stay at your own risk.

The company as a whole has an issue. We ended up at this facility after our reservation was not honored at the original facility with this company we booked. We needed to reach out to the 800 number to secure a room at another one of their facilities in Jacksonville. After two days of significant police presence at that facility we requested a move to this facility. Initially we were pleased. We don't feel unsafe here. Thomas the evening desk clerk has been charming and a pleasure to deal with. The cleaning lady I don't know her name because of a language barrier is very diligent and hard working. The laundry facilities are pretty dirty the soda and snack machine haven't worked since we arrived. It's December and in the 30's so when our heater stopped working I expected some action. After two days I asked about the progress of heater repair. Cavalierly I was told a part was order and could be 2-4 weeks before it comes in. Turn up the other heater or we could move rooms. This would be the third room for a satisfactory stay!! Just a disappointment, especially with the general apathy of this level of service. Would not recommend

Day one here. The room wreaks of cigarettes. Toilet is clogged and the microwave smells unmistakably of URINE. Which means whoever “cleaned” this room didn’t even bother checking it. Disgusting.

A zero-star rating would have been my choice if it were possible. The room was filthy and smelled of cigarettes. Since we had been in the room for five minutes, we couldn't request a refund at the front desk. As if maid service had never touched the room, it appeared that it had never been cleaned. Apart from replacing the towels and making the beds. There was filth in the bathtub, as well as on the bathroom counter. In spite of multiple stains on the mattress cover, I initially thought the mattress felt uncomfortable until I discovered it was upside down. As a result, we had to flip it. The building's exterior appears to be crumbling and the peephole was cracked.

I paid 210 dollars and didn't even get to stay at the location. The front desk is by far the the worst example of customer service I have ever received. I was then called a criminal for not disclosing my personal information after booking through Priceline which was funny because the entire lobby smells like marijuana. Do not book here ever. Worst travel experience of my life!

First of all , I really did not want to leave this review because I used to work for extended stay hotel for 5 years in the past. But they made me this way. We did reservation # 159354644 ( 6 days ) and we called around 4pm and informed them we were going to be late check in ( regular check in is 3pm but we will be check in 3am next day Monday early morning ). We arrived as we told them late to hotel and they canceled our reservation. Front desk person called central reservation system and they did not reinstate my original reservation and they want me to pay more daily rate which I am not suppose . Front desk person called hotel manager 4 25am and talked to her ( Carmen Tirado ) , she stated that she can give me a room for one day and she will help me out today once she will come to office. What those people do even we called them and informed them we are going to be late . Ridiculous I will come back later on today and talked to manager in person because I don't really trust them anymore . Be careful if you are late check in!!!

I called at 6pm to notify them of a late check in, they agreed and told me how to contact the desk, then tell me it’s just gone when I get there (they cancelled it) forcing me to make a new one through them directly, paying more for a smaller room. And after being told I wouldn’t be charged they attempted to charge me for the reservation they cancelled. When I called to get this figured out Kimberly the GM was rude and condescending from the beginning. She talked over me the entire time, bulldozed the conversation, took zero accountability and was simply trash as a manager and respectable human. Trashy roach infestation of a hotel with crack heads hanging out outside at 4am. The pictures are very misleading. This place is nasty and how they handled themselves seems very scheming. I hope the manager has the day she deserves.

THE WORST POSSIBLE STAY! Horrible place! The windows were screwed shut and the whole room smelled like weed, to the point we were feeling dizzy. The apartament was supposed to have a kitchen, but there were no supplies there. When we went to the lobby they gave us a few plates and said they don’t have any pans or pots. HOW ARE WE SUPPOSED TO COOK? The only light in the bathroom didn’t work, staff said they won’t fix it and there was no warm water in the shower; the sink wasn’t clean, there was toothpaste everywhere around it. We paid for breakfast but when we came to collect it, there was not even coffee left and staff didn’t care to refill the thermoses. We left without eating anything but WE PAID FOR THE FOOD THAT WASNT EVEN THERE.

Staff very helpful and friendly. Room was spotless. Appliances gently used, but EVERYTHING worked well. Very comfortable bed. Endless hot water. Loved the convenience of a kitchenette.

That is really a great place to stay, to explore and to enjoy. Staffs are very nice and polite and services are also very good. Only cleaning related issue is there, they clean once in two weeks.

I have never been in a extended stay of any sort so clean, comfortable with a location that provides fast access to transportation, Banking, Dinning, nearby Pharmacy, fuels, Electric supercharger. Access to the Beaches,Business, UNF, Shopping and the CBD is readily available.

Imagine a hotel room and a dorm room with a stove and sink had a love child. The location is perfect. I've been here a while and it is quiet and clean. It is harder to find negatives than any other long term option. I love the coffee and muffins every morning before work. I reccomend this place and would come here again.

The worst experience. For a last minute trip this was one of the only hotels available. The room upon check in was extremely dirty. Trash and filled, food all over the microwave and baseboards. Stains on all furniture and bed skirt. The room was overall in a very poor condition and the smell of smoke was extremely Strong. I had sent multiple emails and hat have gone I responded to. Because we brought a pet I didn’t feel comfortable with anyone entering my room. The Conditions are not healthy.

The front dest staff was great. Very nice🥰 The room was very clean. Also smelled clean. My bed was comfortable. When I go back to Jacksonville, I'll definitely go back to this Extended Stay on Southside - St. Johns Towne Center. I had no problems at all.

It was just ok. Nothing special about it. It's not an inside building. Meaning you walk up to your room door from the outside, which I actually liked. It could have been cleaner, but it wasn't horrible. The only thing that weirded me out was turning on the water to the shower and it being discolored at first. I'm sure it was probably from rust in the pipes and after the water ran for a minute, it cleared up. Otherwise, everything was so-so.

I have stayed at dozens of terrible hotels in my life and have never felt so offended I had to leave a negative review. 1. Keep a close eye on your bank account while staying here. When I first checked in, they tried to double-charge a $28 pet fee that I had already paid online. When I pointed this out, they took the second charge off the bill... until the next morning, when I checked my account to see I was double-charged anyway. When I renewed my room for an extra night, I was charged $20 more than what I had paid the night before despite being told it was the same rare. This would probably be the cheapest hotel in Jacksonville if they actually charged you what they said they would. 2. No hot water, at least in building two. I unfortunately didn't discover this until my second night as I had already showered when I checked in the first. When I checked reviews, I saw this issue has been going on for MONTHS. Imagine how cheap the rooms would be if they told people there wasn't hot water?

I was in town for a day or two and stayed at Stay America. Honestly I’ve been around the world and this hotel is far most the worst ever. You need a gas mask to stay awhile, the smell is horrible the carpet looked as if it has never been cleaned. I was very tired from traveling so I went to bed for 10 minutes couldn’t take it there were bed bugs and ticks biting away. This place is the worst!!!

My wife and her mom were staying at Extended Stay America, Jacksonvilles, Southside-St Johns Towne Ctr. The room is super dirty and the staff named Anna is very rude and racist. We are Asian and she made fun of my family for not speaking English. She has no service mind at all, not helping on anything. The worst hotel my family has ever stayed . We are not recommend anyone to stay here ever. We have many photos and video of the room dirtiness and staff behavior as well.

In a nice classy area. The front office staff is awesome and very professional, caring, and helpful. One of the housekeepers was super nice to me. The rooms were clean as well. My only issue is the walls are super thin. Other than that, my stay was fine.

The only reason I gave it a star was to open the voting section!! First off, when we drove on the property in was like going into a drug zone! After entering the room and finding the place hadn't been cleaned, I find the mirror on the floor and mattress on the floor ! When I returned to the frontdesk, the clerk whom had told me initially that was the last room available, tried to give another room ! Bad experience all around!! Will never attempt to rent a room from that company again!!

I went to the front desk because I was having trouble with my air-conditioner in my room, Kiki made it so easy to switch rooms. She was so sweet and personable. She let me check out the new room to be sure the air-conditioner met up to my satisfaction. Kiki made my trip less stressful. Thank you.

I gave extended stay America Town center a four rating simply because while I was visiting someone tried to steal my work trailer. I caught them out cutting the lock off so that they could hook up and drive away with it. Thankfully they were unsuccessful thanks to me being the suspicious person that I am! Front desk gentleman I'm so sorry I can't remember your name but you are funny and you are sweet and thank you you made my stay there enjoyable and I appreciate you very much. I will definitely definitely stay here again. My room clean? not the cleanest. Comfortable? yes, but I had no hot water the entire time I was there and I was there for 4 days! I didn't have one hot shower. Not one. So A 4 it must be!

DISGUSTING place!!!! Staff is ignorant as could be. If you want to sleep good luck, super loud, door isn't even sealed around it, hair on the sandpaper like towels. Dude at the front desk in the morning greets you by saying "what do you want" nothing but thugs here. Checked out 4 days early will gladly pay to be elsewhere. Their grab and go breakfast looks like discarded food from Walmart trash bin. Very dirty overall. Ants in room. Bed is like sleeping on just the box spring. STAY AWAY!!!!!!!!

PROS The desk clerks were very friendly. Thomas and Kiki, great job working with the public. CONS This place appears to be old with a few updates. I don't like outside entrances and other Extended Stays I've been at were inside. I guess I didn't read carefully. Musty odor was evident. A few sketchey folks in the parking lot. Our door didn't close properly so we just barricaded it with a chair. I would not stay here again. I paid less at other Extended Stays and got much better quality.

The service at the front desk was amazing. Alicia took excellent care of me and went above and beyond the normal parameter of service she had to find and deliver records from a year ago as well and did that using her own portable device because the main system would not allow her to send it so I give her and the service here a 5 Star

  • 4/5 Betty M. 1 year ago on Google
I don’t know what other people experience but mine has been pleasant and very satisfying my room was clean and smelled clean also it is quiet and no one hanging around outside!! I would recommend this location very highly!!

If I could I'd give 0 stars! Hotel and parking lot is disgusting on the outside. Trash everywhere. Got to my room and couldn't even let my kids come in due to it wrecking of dog and urine. Guy at front desk was making rude remarks before I got out of my car. I asked for something to be done about the smell only to be offered a room that was much worse.....NEVER EVER EVER WOULD I RECOMMEND ANYONE TO STAY HERE. NOT EVEN A DOG!

Do people got a lot of balls charging people what you do. I still haven't found a nice place to stay in Jacksonville but I'm pretty sure I can know where to get a crack rock. This is the nastiest Extended Stay type Hotel I've ever gone to and believe me I've been to more than a couple!

  • 5/5 Leslie S. 1 year ago on Google
After multiple surgeries, I had to leave my live-aboard boat and am transitioning to land. This studio and living situation has been perfect for the purpose. I love my setup, and have every amenity I could want for daily living (nice laundry room, even!). The Staff here (Carmen, Kiki, Kendra, Alisha, both Thomas's, more?) work their butts off to see that we're comfortable, safe, and secure, and I can get on I-95, I-295, and/or Butler in minutes. And we're surrounded by every possible retail establishment one could imagine. All in all, what's not to love?
