A friend came to visit and stayed here. It is very small including the rooms; however, the hotel is super clean and the rooms are set up to be highly functional and efficient which makes up some for the size. Rooms have lotion, shampoo/conditioner, and soap large dispensers installed. Plenty of easily accessible outlets and changing ports. The lobby had a large assortment of snacks and drinks (including beer/wine) for sale and free coffee. My friend said the breakfast was good as well.

The location is the best. In the middle of St Johns Town Center. Everything is nearby even in walking distance. However, the room was claustrophobically small. I mean literally you cannot even walk from point one to the other in the room without bumping into some objects/edges. If you plan to go out in the morning and come back at night to shower and sleep, it may work, but staying in the room is painful.

I enjoyed my stay at this Tru by Hilton hotel. It is conveniently located within walking distance of restaurants and plenty of retail stores. Our receptionist was super friendly and helpful. Although the room was small, I was pleasantly surprised and content to see hardwood floors inside our room. There was no swimming pool but the game room in the lobby had plenty of board games and a pool table to keep the kids entertained. There is also a gym with enough machines and weights to get a full workout. Overall we enjoyed our stay.

The rooms does not have a microwave and you actually have to go downstairs to use a microwave, and the shower heads m in the bathroom can’t be adjusted nor did the door for the shower wanted to shut evenly. Underneath their shampoo conditioner and body wash bottles on the wall was dirty like they never clean nor replaced them. And I said to myself when I tried to use an outlet on the wall , why have extra outlets if they don’t work. I told one of the employees that works there first time using the toilet it got clogged he said he can give me a plunger 🪠 to get it unclogged. So I said that’s fine . Seems like you would have to pay and possibly get this clean yourself

This was the first time I have ever stayed at a Tru Hilton. I love the Embassy Suites and figured I would try this establishment. I gave this experience a 2/10 for the following reasons: 1) no one was at the desk when I walked in to check in around 9pm, so I had to wait on the representative to come from around the corner to the desk. 2) I called downstairs around 11pm to notify the representative (DJ) that someone was smoking marijuanna and the smell was coming through my vent. He requested to follow up with me after checking people in. I sprayed Lysol in the air to help decrease the unwanted scent. 3) The shower had several pieces of long brown hair! For me that was it. Lastly, DJ returned my call at midnight. I told him not to worry about changing my room at this point; however I requested to check out in the morning instead of the booked 2 day stay. Never ever again!

I thought being Hilton, this place would be higher quality. Upon arrival, I felt the hotel was really cute and decorated nicely although no one was at the reception desk and I waited for almost 10 minutes to be checked in. After I settled into my room and while relaxing in the bed, I noticed gnats flying around and tiny ants (or something) crawling on the sheets. I will definitely book a different hotel for my next visit.

Beautiful hotel and decent location. I really liked the comfortable seating and there are items for purchase in the lobby area...it was open very late too (maybe 24/7 but not sure). The room, lobby, and recreation areas were all very clean. There's a small gym and an area to refill water (no complimentary bottles of water were in the room). I like that it was walking distance to shops and restaurants. If you're visiting Jacksonville though, I'd highly recommend renting a car. I marked this 3 stars because I didn't sleep properly the 2 nights I stayed. The AC in the room was loud and made a noise indicating something wasn't quite right. It would come on every 2-3 hours and the noise would wake me. I told reception about it after 6pm on Day 2...of course there'd be no technician at that time, so I had to suffer through another night. I did not ask for another room and it also wasn't offered. I felt that my comment was noted, but not taken seriously. I'd give service 3.5 but half stars are not available. If you're a light sleeper (which I'm not), I'd suggest you give somewhere else a try. The fridge is not in a cupboard and close to the bed, so you will hear it.

I will start with the positives, this hotel is centrally located to EVERYTHING! It's also very clean and updated from the Lobby to the rooms, the staff was nice too. However, we had a major issue with the rooms air circulation. The 1st night the room we got was so stuffy I had to request another room. The receptionist explained to put the air on auto and that fixed the air quality, but it literally would stay off for over 30 mins makin it hot in the middle of your sleep. It made it impossible for us too sleep this was truly the worst hotel stay we checked out and drove home the last night we couldn't even stay. The small rooms didn't bother me I mean it served its purpose, but they stay was very uncomfortable. Will not return! I also want to mention this is a family hotel, and this soccer team/kids completely took over the lobby/gym so if you're looking for adult get away try something else.

This hotel has the absolute WORST customer service I have every received! I booked this hotel online, received the confirmation with the correct dates and when I got to the hotel to check in, they said my reservation was for a different date. I showed my email proof of confirmation and the women at the front desk apologized and said it was manually changed at the hotel on their end (NOT SURE WHY) she had no explanation!!! She made a room available for me since it was an error on their end, after having to wait a bit. To only be charged 2xs the day after I checked out! The manager “Tim” who I spoke to him only one time, was extremely unpleasant!! Ever since then everytime I call I’m told he’s “busy” or “unavailable”. With the NUMEROUS calls/voicemails and emails I’ve left them you would think I would receive at least a call back! I’ve had to escalate the call to corporate to resolve this issue!

The bed and pillows are so hard that it is like sleeping on concrete. I am currently writing this review while lying on this hard slab as my body aches all over. I had the worst night sleep ever! I expected more from a Hilton hotel. I would have done better sleeping in my car. Do not stay here. It is not worth it!

Everything was good in the hotel rooms. Abundant power outlets, very clean, no gripes there. Breakfast was typical of a good hotel. Our only problem was that there wasn't an overhang on the sidewalk, and it was pouring outside, so we had to stand with our luggage in the soaking rain waiting for the baggage cart. Someone didn't think that design through.

We stayed here for the Gator Bowl, Late Dec. 2023. The place was perfect. The kids loved it, the staff that was on-site in person was far better than the staff on the telephone. The breakfast was great, as were the rooms.

This hotel exceeded expectations. The staff was very welcoming and accommodating. The reception staff went above and beyond to ensure the lobby area was always clean and smelling nice. We saw them cleaning and vacuuming several times a day. Fresh coffee and other snacks were available in the lobby. We appreciated their kindness as our family was visiting for a funeral. They made it feel like home.

We don't travel much for many reasons, but the main reason is that securing CLEAN, SAFE, and inexpensive lodging is impossible to find these days. I'll start with reviewing the beginning to the end. Property outside: maintained nicely, welcoming and well lit( good for if you get in late) Property inside: Bright and clean. Location: Great close to a lot of restaurants and shopping areas. Close to cheesecake factory, fire bird, and maggianos, and Dillards a long with other high-end stores. Front desk staff: great attitude and very helpful and respectful. I think her name was Lameka. She is a good asset to tru hotel with her inviting and warm welcome to guests I seen her interact with. Room: VERY CLEAN One of the cleanest hotels I stayed at. ( I personally like that the room is on the smaller side, but this particular hotel, I believe, was designed like that, just the essentials in mind) I think it is great for a weekend getaway. If you want bigger, you will have to look for another hotel. Cleaning staff: They actually clean, and I saw them in the process. This is amazing. Some nowadays try to get out of things and do the bare minimum. From what I observed, the cleaning staff really work to have your room in tip top shape. If the company allows, please keep the cleaning staff in mind and leave a tip for them. They work really hard for people who may not be the cleanest. Checkout: It was a breeze.

The hotel was very clean and smelled fresh and sanitized at all times. The customer service was awesome. Very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good. The rooms were clean and food places were accessible. You could walk to a number of stores and restaurants. I would definitely stay again if I come to this area.

Overall better experience than most hotels nowadays. The facility is clean, and we enjoyed the free breakfast. We stayed to visit family for Thanksgiving. Didn't give a full 5 stars because of a few things. First of all, they charged a pet fee for my service animal for my seizures. I told them at check-in, and I thought the front desk said there was no charge, but they charged me at checkout and didn't say anything. I didn't see that until they emailed me the receipts. No paper receipts were given or any explanation of the charges. Secons, we stayed on the 2nd floor and could hear whomever stayed above us from 10 pm to about 12. And then again as early 6 am until 11 am. It was so strange, like sounds of moving furniture and heavy boots walking back and forth. It sounded like they were dropping things and rolling things around. Another thing was the breakfast not keeping up with the rush of people. Around 8 am everyone was up and I was standing in line for 15 minutes just to find out there was no food left, so I sat back down and waited for a refresh. But as soon as that happened, people rushed back up to get more on their plate after already having food. Would help if there was friendly signage to remind guests not to hog food. Some guests showed up last 15 minutes just to be told they were done replenishing food. I'll still be staying at future Tru hotels, since I enjoy the consistency. Thank you to the staff that worked Thanksgiving week.

I love this Hilton brand. When we look for a hotel, it’s usually just to get a little rest so we don’t spend much time in the room. The Tru brand fits our traveling lifestyle perfectly. It’s always clean and has all the amenities needed. We made our reservation later than w expected but had no problem at all. The hotel is in a super nice area and there was plenty of parking. The front desk clerk was very accommodating and pleasant to talk to. We look forward to staying here again when in the area.

I stayed at this hotel for a short time while taking a visit to Jacksonville Florida and it was a great pick. It was just a few minutes to get to the main plaza and the view from the hotel wasn't bad. The only cons I had while staying at this hotel had to do with the room itself; the main one being the size of the room. The room was very compact compared to average and felt closed in at times, but it wasn't unbearable, and they do offer some unique storage options. The only other complaint about the room I could think of is that it does seem to have thin walls.

My husband and I stayed here while traveling to Miami. After reading previous reviews I was skeptical, although we booked the room. ( I have anxiety when staying in hotels) What a pleasant surprise, the landscaping was nice, the lobby and the attendant were equally nice, attendant very personable as she addressed us. Most important the room was very clean, I love the hardwood floors (I loathe carpet, and the bed linens and bed was comfortable. There were plenty of towels and the hand soap/body wash and conditioner was plentiful, the shower was very clean and refreshing. I will definitely use this place again and recommend it to my friends and family. The breakfast was good and the seating area was clean and welcoming. I also want to recognize the professionalism, and courtesy of the morning staff. Everyone was amazing. I would like to Thank the owner and staff at Tru for this wonderful experience.

Room, double queen bed, pretty crowded and hard to walk through. The only table for those in the bed is between the beds, no nightstand for those closest to the wall. The A/C blocks one side of the bed, so you either crawl in it or hopefully, you are skinny enough to turn sideways and walk through the three inches of room. The room smelled of smoke, yet it is a nonsmoking hotel. The night staff had zero concern for a 2 am call about a room next door with a party in it.

Nice clean hotel with no frills. Smaller rooms with few amenities, but that is the point of this Hilton brand, so I am fine with it.

Nice clean rooms. Very nice and accommodating staff at check-in and breakfast. Clean Fitness room with dumbbells. In the Town Center area just minutes away from UNF and downtown in either direction. Plenty of places to eat around the hotel.

I believe in Bigfoot! I believe because he stayed in the room above me. However, the walls were just as thin. The front desk clerk last night was fantastic. He greeted us with a smile, shared stories and was seemingly glad to see us. That's where this property's friendliness ended. The room was so small that I thought I was trapped in an episode of "Hoarders." Hilton must have found a sale on marble, because I swear that's what I slept on. The property is new, clean and conveniently located to shopping and PLENTY of food choices. I was not impressed with the TRU brand/concept.

Unfriendly staff! They definitely need basic training. They never greeted us or made the least effort. Once you’re right in front of them is when they family acknowledge you even exist. Gave us a room right next to an elevator and we really needed the rest after a long road trip. We kindly went back and asked for a change and the front desk lady had this incredible attitude! She finally gave us another room after we complained with Expedia Fridge didn’t work The Hotel is nice, modern, covers all the basics and the location is excellent for walking to many places at Town Center But there are plenty of good choices nearby

Very nice hotel with awesome amenities. Pool table in the lobby, amazing gym 💪 and great selection of snacks. The rooms are updated and simple.

The rooms were cleaned and comfortable. The location was quite convenient being in a huge shopping center with quick access to restaurants and stores. The service was great. Overall great experience!

This hotel was very clean and staff extremely friendly. I love that the hotel rooms do not have carpet because it helps keep the room from becoming smelly and trapped with dirt. The front desk clerks lock the hotel door entrance at night so stray people can’t just walk in loitering around and that made me feel safer. The rooms are definitely more modern than most hotels also. I would definitely go back and stay there.

The night of April 28, 2022- I would NOT stay here again, nor would my wife. The biggest issue we had was the fact the DEADBOLT ON THE DOOR DID NOT WORK. This is ROOM 302. This meant ZERO security over night whilst we slept aside from that flimsy inside door latch. We actually took the laundry board and placed it in front of the door in case someone tried to come in, it would fall and wake us up. For whatever reason the door doesn’t line up with the deadbolt hole in the wall. That means when you turn the deadbolt, it hits the wall and won’t engage the hole. We noticed this after 10 p.m. last night or else we would’ve gotten a new room immediately. The sad thing is since this is a construction issue, the door and deadbolt have been like this since day 1, and no one has fixed it. I emailed Hilton’s executive team (found on Elliott.org) immediately last night regarding this issue, and the general guest correspondence email, and as of now, 2:11 p.m. April 29, no one has touched base. We tried to tell the front desk about this issue upon checking out, but there was NO ONE at the desk or anywhere in the lobby. Bizarre. If you can look past this liability and security hazard, I still wouldn’t recommend this hotel. The king bed room was as small as a hotel room at the W Hotel in Manhattan. I mean, it was tiny. There was hardly room for the two of us, and I managed to hit my shin on the wooden bed surround they for some reason have as I was navigating the space between the end of the bed and the exposed closet/fridge against the wall. Oh, and I was hitting my head on the wooden shelf the protrudes over the sink when I bent over to wash my face last night, this morning. If there was an in-room coffee service, we never found it. Lastly, the bed didn’t have those nice hotel sheets and comforters that we usually see in any hotel bed, particularly in the Hampton Inns for example. There really weren’t any extra pillows, like again, Hampton Inns offer, and there weren’t any extra blankets that are generally kept in the room’s closet (since there isn’t a closet). Oh, and I asked about getting late checkout, and I was told noon was the latest they could do; they only had cleaning staff from a temp service and those cleaners had to be done by noon so we couldn’t stay any later. Ok…

Clean, great lighting, plenty of outlets in bathroom, by bed, mirrors. Hardwood floors! CLEAN!!!!! All you can drink coffee/tea. Free breakfast. Around plenty of shopping and waterfront. Great location to entertain clients. Loads of restaurants, if you are in the area stay here! The OTHER hotels in the area have carpet and allow animals and smell like dog urine. STAY HERE!! Luxury, eco friendly. Just look at the shine in the hardwood floors. I want to walk into a hotel room and it smells like it was just cleaned. Thankful!

Nice new rooms, beds firm but they have bedding that feels like a cloud, you know those sheets you’ve washed a million times and feel like feathers? That’s what these sheets feel like. Absolute heaven. Breakfast is decent. Showers have a nice shower head and pressure.

We came in on Saturday the 20th and the young lady that worked the 2-10 shift was absolutely amazing. Customer Service on point, smile beautiful, attitude beautiful. Walking around cleaning and very busy. Please give her a raise. We did run into a quite a few pieces of hair in the bed, other than that it was good. Maybe have a better breakfast variety

This is THE place to stay! Immaculately clean. Staff is amazing. It has this funky, trendy vibe that makes me want to come back. Rooms are a bit narrow but well decorated. Beds were super comfortable. Odd numbered rooms have a great view of the lake
