If you're looking for a chill Cafe, with clean, locally sourced eating options this is your spot. The caramel expresso was one of the best I've ever had but the Strawberry Matcha.... unmatched... world renown.😊 great service, friendly faces, oh, and the sweet toothed patron is right at home here. We ordered the blackberry churro donut, oh.. my.. goodness, it was perfect to split bc that mammajamma was so rich. 5/5 recommend this spot. The only reason I withheld a star is it's kinda pricey but I should blame that on inflation I suppose.

Great food and the coffee is A1 top shelf. Even got a lesson on Columbian coffee 💯💯. The owner gave a In debth story about Columbia and where the best coffee in the world is made. The vegan sandwich was excellent and the blueberry muffin was on a whole new level . I never experienced food or coffee like this in my life. Very great experience

10/10 great coffee, great food, great people! We got the loaded avocado toast and caramel lattes with oat milk. One of the best lattes I’ve had very well balance between espresso and the oat milk not too sweet just PERFECT! the loaded avocado toast was so delicious I didn’t want to finish it! Absolutely gem! I love a great coffee shop.

I always forget to take photos of the food when it's really THAT good. This place is what we were hoping for in Jax, the coolest little husband and wife owned Cafe. Everything has love and thoughts behind it- the coffee is their own brand, they make everything from scratch besides the bread and bagels (because they're not gf) the espresso machine is the good kind (Starbucks has nothing on their matcha latte and cold brews, so stop in here some morning vs your basic coffee stop) BEST FOOD WE'VE HAD in this city. But it's 100% our style, so come try it for yourself and see what you think. We had the Bahn MI special SOO GOOD, the Blisscuit (nice and perfect size), Avacado cream-cheez and side salad. The muffins are also delicious. Try it all! We sure will 😋

We’ve been coming here a few years now and the past few times the food has seemed to decline in quality. We placed a Togo order for an avocado bagel with added sprouts on a gluten free bagel. I was disappointed to open my breakfast to find No sprouts on a soggy bagel with lots of cream cheese, some over ripped avocado, and a few onions. I honestly didn’t want to write this review but I am pretty dissatisfied with our experiences here as of late.

This place was so amazing! I had a caramel latte and a donut. The latte was delicious and had beautiful art on top. The donut was honestly probably the best donut I’ve ever had and I thought it was really fun that it had an edible flower on it. I love that this shop is vegan (although they do offer cheese and milk if you want it) and gluten free. There was plenty of street parking even though I visited on a Sunday. I will definitely be back every time I visit Jacksonville!

We love Southern Roots! Everything I’ve tried has been so yummy, but my favorite is the Lox Plate! They have developed such a creative and tasty vegan menu, and I really appreciate having a restaurant so close to home that is dedicated to vegan cuisine. Even my husband, who is not vegetarian/vegan enjoys it.

First time eating here. The owner explained options and was patient with me. Really relaxed atmosphere. Today I had the protein bowl adding pumpkin pesto and pickled onions. The Pumpkin Pesto should be in a category of its own because it’s unlike any pesto I’ve ever tasted! I also had one of their biscuits…delicious! Let’s face it, eating vegan can be boring and disappointing. I was really happy with my tasting selection. (Note: maybe ask for more Ranch)Overall just a refreshing experience.

Our first stop in our trip started off with this place. Nice sized restaurant to grab a bit to eat or some coffee. Food comes out pretty quick and is delish. We had the chik’n salad sandwich and a lox bagel. Both tasted great. They’ve got a small selection of other goodies and gear to choose from if your interested.

Gluten free and vegan.... loving it.... I could eat here everyday. The gluten free biscuits are like none other. The best place in Jax for gluten free donuts made fresh everyday. We had a latte drink that was perfect. No complaints except my access to their services. Great job Southern Roots.... Love the cardboard serving containers. I finally got a picture of a doughnut 🍩 for my review. It's usually gone...;-)

Good customer service, delicious food and coffee was tasty as well. Liked the layout and tables with plugs. Wish outside seating had a little more, but at least they had two tables in the front.

Southern Roots has been such a staple in the community. It has been a champion for accessibility and better options while still maintaining a high standard of delicious. It was one of the few places that I could go and eat during my vegan journey, and I have a lot of other people who feel the same. This is goodbye. It’s just see you later ❤️

Southern Roots offers vegan and gluten free food inspired by regional vegetation and seasonal harvesting. The head chef works diligently to utilize local farmers and incorporate produce that is seasonally available, which helps reduce carbon footprint. Additionally, the “Snail of approval” means that each order is prepared with intention and nothing is hastily thrown together. Highly recommend stopping in and breaking bread with a friend. Definitely the best avo toast in town.

We had a great breakfast at southern roots filling station. The oat milk latte was really nice and the homemade donuts were so good!! We also got the roots biscuit and loaded avocado toast - both delicious but I preferred the biscuit because of the homemade sweet potato patty and sprouts.
