Both times we have been here, it was almost completely empty. Turn off you would think... WRONG! Placed in the middle of a random strip mall off University Blvd. With a laundry mat next door this unassuming place serves the best Etheopian in Jax. It's family owned and run and the food is amazing, as well as the service. Get ready to dive in with your hands, because it's traditional and they don't not offer utensil options unless you ask for them. It's something completely different than most restaurants that you will see in the city... it's a complete hidden gem of a place. Be sure to try both Veg and Meat options at once you won't be disappointed.

I don't throw out 5 stars for restaurants very often, but this place is amazing. This was my first experience with Ethiopian food. I have to say, it was a great experience. They offer beef, chicken, lamb and vegan dishes. If you have or haven't had Ethiopian food, I highly recommend giving this place a try.

It's been years since I've had Ethiopian food, and this did not disappoint! The injera tasted how I remembered. The beef was flavorful and delicious. Portions were very generous for the price. Service was friendly. I'll have to come back and dine in sometime!

Dairy free / gluten free / vegan options! Incredible flavors, excellent customer service! We will come back every time we travel through Jax. We asked the owner to just give us whatever he recommended to feed 2 people and it was πŸ‘πŸ½πŸ‘πŸ½πŸ‘πŸ½ so good

The food is amazing!! The hot tea touched my soul. We got the meat and veggie platter to share, and it was all we needed. I definitely can't wait to go back. Truly authentic and a good home cooked meal.

I don't get to Jacksonville frequently, but a stop at Nile is always required when I do! Ethiopian food is a great option if you want to try something new, but don't feel like your palate is very adventurous. It's delicious and you will be able to find an option you will enjoy! This time, I had beef tibs with misir wot and shiro wot. The green lentils are also really great!

Authentic Ethiopian fare! Delicious injera combination platters, (meat and/or veggie) sandwiches, salads, hot tea and more. If you've never eaten Ethiopian food, this is a very welcoming establishment with helpful staff. Their menu even shows you how to eat using the injera (it's like a semi-fluffy, delicious crepe) instead of silverware, so very non-intimidating for first timers. Whether you're a veggie or meat lover, you'll leave full and very satisfied!

I absolutely enjoyed my dining experience at Nile Ethiopian Restaurant. I took my family here for my daughter's birthday and was treated as a royal. The store wasn't super crowded but was very clean and inviting. I started off by trying the famous ethiopian coffee which smelled amazing and offered that bold and rich taste. The coffee was served on a neat tray decorated with cultural designs. Next I tried an order of lentil sambusas which were crisp and lentils flavorful, not too oily but just right. I then moved on to try the vegan platter served with injera. The vegan platter was a major hit! I also tried the fish Lebleb which came with more delicious injera. The fish was fresh tasting and not too salty. Lastly I finished my meal with an order of baklava. If you haven't tried this desert, I would advise you try it. My overall experience was awesome. Great efforts get great results and feedback .

ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS!!!! 10/5 Seriously one of the best dishes I’ve had in a long time. We ordered the vegetarian combo (closest) and the meat combo (farther) to get a little bit of everything. Highly recommend if you haven’t tried Ethiopian or haven’t had any in a long while, like us. Fast, tasty, great atmosphere.

The food is delicious πŸ˜‹.. the portions are small but flavorful.. Authentic taste. Reasonable prices. Ethiopian family Owned & Operated. The honey wine was the best I’ve had....Will definitely be back.. they also sell some of there amazing spices, which I can’t wait to try. In the KCC shopping center...very casual.

This was a fantastic find in an un-fantastic neighborhood. The food was well- seasoned and cooked wonderfully. The staff made us feel very welcome and was very open to answering questions, making suggestions, and explaining how to properly eat an Ethiopian meal. The African music videos playing on TV and the baskets and posters of Ethiopian sights set the scene for a nice family meal. In an effort to try as much as possible in 1 meal, we tried the vegetarian combo as well as the meat combo. I cannot eat spicy food so I was pleased that most of the food was not spicy and the dishes with some spicy flavors were very mild. The bread (injera) is fascinatingly tasty. The whole meal was an enjoyable experience. We ended the meal with Ethiopian coffee, which was served in a beautiful China set. Loved everything!

Authentic Ethiopian cuisine in an unassuming strip mall off of powers. The meat and vegan combination platter was outstanding. Strongly recommend the Ethiopian coffee, it is roasted right in front of you. We Will be coming back soon!

BEST FOOD IN JAX seriously they could kick me out and make me eat it from the sidewalk and I still wouldn't think twice about giving it 5 stars. It's that good. the atmosphere and decor is pretty good too, and my only complaint is that the service was a bit slow. But its soooo worth the wait! And I really like that it tells you how to eat it right on the front of the menu, that was a nice touch. It's perfectly acceptable to just tear into it with your hands (well, actually only your right hand) and stuff it into your gob, and that is *exactly* what I did. Kinda lost control and inhaled the whole thing in like 15 minutes. It was an... *emotional* experience
