Came last night 12/15 after debating what to get to eat. I am always sketchy of some bars but this place didn’t disappoint. First we started with the Pretzel which was good crunchy and the beer cheese was fantastic. Then my wife and split the Avocado Chicken. They were nice enough to split it on two plates for us which most places wouldn’t do so we thank them for that and it was really awesome. The place was nice and the waitress I believe her name was Sarah (I apologize if I am wrong) was super nice and very tentative. Also came in when there was some live music starting which was nice nothing to heavy on the sound so we couldn’t have a clear conversation. If I am ever in Murray hill again I would stop here again. Thank you!

We had an awful experience here last night, absolutely worst bartender ever. We ordered our first set of drinks, Paul the bartender delivered us drinks that were so strong we had to request regular coke backs to even out the sheer amount of alcohol to dilute them. Second set of drinks, I specifically asked for ONE SHOT, one shot of alcohol in my drink. Again, he delivered us jack and cokes that were about 95% jack with a splash of coke on top. At this point we decided to cash out, I don't like overly heavy pouring it's a major red flag for me. Paul the bartender then saw me taking a picture of our receipt and asked me 'what my problem was'. I explained to him I felt the drinks were too strong and how we requested normal drinks, and he CRUMPLED THE RECEIPT and threw it on the bar right in front of me!!!!! As a service provider myself, as a woman, as a mother.....I was appalled. This level of disrespect was too much. This type of service for a business is a huge liability, not only are you losing money, you are losing potential customers. Never in 40 years have I been so disrespected in any establishment. I hate to label any place as one star or bad, but we won't be returning.

The food was amazing. The Bavarian Pretzel was huge. I would have liked a little more of the cheese sauce though. The Bangers and Mash looked great and tasted even better. They were going to have a live band that night. Definitely need to go back again! Update: Second trip, great service. The Stout Cottage Pie was delicious. My wife had a burger and was very impressed. They had on college football, good game atmosphere.

Awesome milkshakes. We went in for the first time and it happened to be trivia night so we decided to give it a shot. We had a lot of fun. Our waiter Paul was very attentive and nice and gave us excellent service. Nice place to have a bite and get some drinks. It's also connected to a creamery and the ice cream is so good. I highly recommend.

My boyfriend and I went for a couple of beers and some food. The bartender, Paul, was so knowledgeable and kind. He let us know everything between beer options to specials on the menu. We felt appreciated and satisfied! They are worth trying just based on the experience alone, but have a plus side….the to go alcohol creamery! You should definitely try this place out!!!! Thanks Paul!!

First off, waiter Shane is awesome! Unobtrusive but somehow right there when you need him. Excellent Fried Green Tomato sandwich and Buffalo Chicken salad... Loved it! The music was amazing too. The venue is an excellent place for a simple draft, or a night out for dinner and a band. Doing Murray Hill proud!

Maybe it was an off-night, but our 6 entrees were all terribly poor, and we waited well over an hour for them despite there being only a handful of other customers. The staff are nice but service was slow. Were they short-staffed? Training new cooks? I'm not sure. In conclusion, it's a nice pub atmosphere for a drink and to watch the game, but go elsewhere for a full meal.

Great place! Great people! Go in there constantly and never have had a bad time! Food is amazing! Ice cream for the kids and for the adults! They have trivia on thursday and live music the rest of the weekend. My absolute favorite thing is KIDS ARE ALWAYS WELCOME! My daughter and son can come up and sit and watch a band, without worrying about getting kicked out at 9pm! It is a TRUE FAMILY ESTABLISHMENT!

My wife and I with friends went to a show last night at the Stout Snug. For dinner my wife had the green tomato BLT and I had their special a pasta with prime rib. My pasta was one of the best meals I have had out in a long while. The service was great. Every time a server walked by, whether they were yours or not, asked if we needed anything. We had a great time and look forward to going back. You owe it to yourself to check them out 👍

Went on a open mic Wednesday night. Sole intention was to grab some Irish themed food and listen to live music so I can't speak too much on the bar/drink portion. Walked in and there was a bagpipe performer on stage which immediately made it feel inviting. Ordered bangers and Mac + beef with vegetables and mashed potatoes, almost to what would be similar to a Shepard pie. Food was good, no complaints but not necessarily above average. Ordered the deviled eggs for an app, also good, but nothing to rave about. There seemed to only be one waitress on the floor who refilled drink/beer orders for the sitting table crowd as well as serving and taking dinner orders, and 2, possible 3 people behind the actual bar. I'd go back again, I love anywhere with local musicians, had a good experience overall.

Ordered extra crispy fish and I got greasy non crispy fish. Fries were practically raw. For the price of this place serving food you would expect from the dollar menu at a fast food place, I would not recommend delivery from this place. Maybe if you are sitting in front of then they will serve what you ask for and cook the food properly.

Love a good stop for corned beef and cabbage. It is definitely not something you find anytime and anywhere. The mashed potato’s are delicious and the carrot is the cherry on top. Kids had plenty to choose from and enjoyed their ice cream for dessert.

Went with family after visiting and saying good bye to my favorite uncle as he was in hospice care after his long painful battle with cancer. So the mood wasn’t a happy occasion as it was. I ordered the garlic Parmesan wings. The wings were cooked to perfection. Crispiness was exactly the way I like it. However the sauce was not what I would think of when choosing this flavor. Basically it was a plate of fake butter, aka garlic butter flavored oil, with the wings arranged on top of that pool of oil, then very miniscule sprinkle of Parmesan cheese. Bordering nonexistent. Was not a fan at all! First of all, a ton more cheese and less fake butter/oil. Good thing I ordered that side salad because it was yummy with a really tasty balsamic vinaigrette. Point being = absolutely order a different flavor in the wings.

Actually service is for this, several beers( 3) on draught ordered and one after another “it just ran out & we have no more.” Only two workers so it was really because they didn’t want to change the kegs:( even if they were indeed out the server should know this and not be going back and forth to bar. It took 6 of us 20 minutes to get our drinks! Food great and waitress was very nice and competent…but time for the bill and the waitress gave us all back WAY too much change. ( gave her 100$.. bill 65$.. she gave me 84 back?) being honest we all approached the bar and between two of them they couldn’t figure it out so we did for them.. “ here’s your tip, put this in register.. now your ok”. Our other friend received 55$ too much.. Just ridiculous! The owners might want to train or RETRAIN YOUR STAFF… and teach them basic math skills.

I’ve been going to Stout Snug since 2022 and this was the first time I ordered the fish sandwich. Never again! I got food poisoning. Within 20 minutes after eating my meal I had to use the restroom. I am embarrassed to say we had to leave. I really like this place but don’t eat the fish. Last year we ordered the fish and chips and the same thing. I guess we are a glutton for punishment . 🤷‍♀️😂

My wife and I came out for an 80s cover band the night before my birthday; we had a BLAST! Smoking area in back was well maintained, the food was great, the black and tans were EXCELLENT! I dropped my black card at some point, but it was there at the bartender's station the next morning... WONDERFUL

The bartender there is great. It was a taller gentleman. I'm bad with names. Bluegrass band was playing and they had beer and a buddy special. Hopefully, the owner can figure out who worked. Very friendly and helpful. I always try the fish and chips my first visit at any Irish pub. Theirs was very good and came out quick. The waffle fries were also good. Normally, I'm not a waffle fry fan, but I will definitely eat these anytime. Can't wait to go back and try out other items on the menu

Went to this wonderful Irish pub last night for the first time. I cannot wait to return! Enjoyed great music, friendly staff, and fantastic wings. Forewarning.. the jalapeno poppers will light you up 🔥🔥🔥. Check it out!

Everything is good. The food. The libations. The service. Paul, your bartender, is a pro. He will ensure you have the best mixed drinks. He muddles, he measures, he ensures he will meet or exceed your expectations. An experience that will leave you smiling.

Having the best time ever at The Stout Snug. Our server is Lindsay. She has served us two shots of Jameson with pickle juice. Don't knock it till you try it. The jalapeño poppers are fresh and delicious, not fried. The original wing sauce is THE best I've ever had anywhere. Not your typical bar food presentation or service. Outstanding on all fronts.

Best food, friendly staff and great atmosphere. The owner came by to see if everything was to our satisfaction. Prices were very reasonably. Great community feel. Gotta go back.

Love that I can get a delicious salad wirh a veggie burger on top. The macaroni and cheese is so good. Live music and open to the fresh air make this one of my favorite spots in Murray Hill.

Staff was extremely friendly and attentive to our needs. There were 3 of us in our party, each ordering a different menu item. The food was as outstanding as the service. We will definitely be back!

Good little place for dinner or drinks. We lucked out and had live music with our dinner. The corned beef and cabbage was spot on (other than some cooler temps on the potatoes and cabbage). The wife enjoyed their version of Sheppard pie (cottage pie). Some stouts to wash it down and we felt like we were right back in Dingle for a Friday Night. Good service, good food and good music. Made for a great Friday night

This pub is our favorite spot in Jacksonville! Great Food (Guiness Burger) The only place I know of who serves Killkenny Dueling pianos is always tons of fun!!!! Rusty Shine needs to play here😍✌️🇺🇸🥃

Great place to gather with friends. Food and drinks were on point. We had a large table and everyone had a great night! Dueling Pianos were so much fun! Can't wait to come back.

I've never had anything but a great time here. The food is outstanding! Everything is top notch... food, service, entertainment. Ya can't go wrong with anything at The Stout Snug!

I discovered The Stout Snug about a month ago and I love it. I've now been here about four or five times. I started coming for the Wednesday open mic nights - which are awesome - but I'd happily come here anytime. The friendly and cool bartender introduced me to my first blue gin (Empress) and the non-alcoholic (NA) Guinness is a game changer if you love a pint and don't feel like getting tipsy. Food-wise I've most stuck to pub apps. The wings and egg rolls work well for me - tasty and filling. This place is friendly, welcoming and a great hang if you're in the Jacksonville, Florida area.

Me and my wife moved to jax almost 2 years ago. We stopped into stout one night and ever since it's a go-to for us on the weekends. Great service, great atmosphere and great food. Keep up the good work guys and gals.

Food was delicious and service was even better. The staff was friendly and made you feel like part of the community. The weekly events are so fun and create an atmosphere that makes you want to keep the night going. 10/10 would recommend.

Amazing food, beer selection, and vibe. Traditional Irish bar feeling but didn't have the stale beer smell that hangs in most. Bartender was awesome 👌

Dueling pianos was a terrific show. Worth the visit. Reuben rolls were good, but can’t believe a bar doesn’t serve wine. Update 3.14.23: I heard from the owner and he assured me they serve wine. He further indicated he would address this miscommunication with the bar staff. I look forward to a return visit. I also changed the review from 4 to 5 stars, in response to the owners’s response.

I try to play trivia here once a week but can't always make it...sometimes several weeks go by. Staff always remembers me and my kids preferences and makes our experience that much better.

I dont want to do this bc I own a business and I hate Not-5-Star reviews, but I can't this time. The place was beautiful and the customers seemed super happy. But the service was slow. We had TWO different waiters who both took so long to bring us drinks and the check. My friend was happy with his fish and chips, but my Cron beef and cabbage was terrible. Only a few slices, not shredded, of fatty beef, overloaded with cabbage, tiny bit of the delicious mashed potatoes and, for some reason, half a steamed carrot. Can bring myself to recommend.
