Hindus
adore
Keerimalai
Springs,
a
sacred
water
source
that
has
long
been
frequented
by
locals.
They
think
the
water
has
a
remarkable
healing
ability
here.
Regardless,
the
spring's
water
is
mineralized
and
salty
despite
not
coming
from
the
ocean
because
the
basins
are
above
sea
level.
These
are
not
hot
springs,
though.
Water
may
only
be
used
for
bathing,
not
drinking.
Anyone
may
swim
in
the
springs
due
to
their
excellent
swimming
facilities.
Although
everything
in
this
place
is
straightforward,
the
inhabitants
are
incredibly
helpful
and
social
and
will
explain
everything
to
you.
There
are
two
swimming
pools:
a
sizable
pool
for
males
that
looks
out
over
the
ocean,
and
a
smaller
one
just
for
ladies.
There
is
a
changing
area,
as
well
as
a
shady
spot
to
unwind.
Even
in
swimwear,
ladies
must
cover
themselves
with
a
towel
or
sheet.
You
can
swim
while
wearing
clothing
(as
some
locals
do),
or
strip
to
a
swimsuit.
You
may
take
things
with
you
and
set
them
on
the
stairs
surrounding
the
pool
while
changing
in
the
locker
rooms
or
right
next
to
the
springs
beneath
the
umbrellas.
Keep
a
tight
check
on
items
since
theft
has
happened.
