The gym is nice but the service was terrible. We booked via Hostelworld and even though the owner knows this site isn't working he won't take it down. There was then an hour of back and forths of beds being available or not, which was frustrating. I'm sure he means well but he barely speaks English, could not help us with any of our travel questions and then also charged us more at check out than he was supposed to. Not a good experience.

Great experience staying here. There are dometries for backpackers, which is a good option for low budget Travelers. has a small kitchen as well. We booked 6 person dometry and the service was good. It's not an issue to communicate with them even though there's a little language barrier. Bathrooms are somewhat okay, not that good but acceptable for the reasonably low budget. I will stay there again when I visit Jaffna.

Perfectly located within the Jaffna town very close to the Jaffna Bus station and the railway station. We stayed in a 6-bed hostel. Rooms are okay, and beds are comfy. Plenty of wall sockets for everyone. Bathrooms are not that clean and I recommend buying drinking water from a supermarket.

Super comfy beds, clean rooms and free breakfast. That’s nice! Guy in reception is also super friendly but we didn’t really like the fact that we had to pay extra for the night we didn’t want to stay. Also the bike rents are super high for Sri Lankan standards. Not given the good information to take the bus.. they say you can get a private bus but we could not find it. Jaffna is definitely worth a visit!

Lovely place, not exactly sparkling clean, but the atmosphere is great and the shared kitchen is super functional. Good internet and the private room we rented was extremely spacious. Very, very basic bathroom.

A Very good place for rent a motorcycle/foot cycle for daily basis in Jaffna, prices are very reasonable, they rent motorcycle for 2500LKR per day without fuel ⛽ with unlimited mileage,

A nice place to spend couple of day. Worth and convenient. The breakfast is poor , but for the money they ask , can’t complain much about that. There are plenty of places to have breakfast if its not enough for you. Highly recommended

Met so many beautiful souls an enjoyed my stay here very much! 🙏 It has everything you need, bed with large lockers, desk, electric points, fan and A/C, a beautiful balcony view, a kitchen, lift, free filtered water, fridge, WiFi, free breakfast and access to the gym there, central location and truly amazing staff! 🧼 I read some reviews about the toilets being dirty, on my first day, they were a little dirty, more so from other guests rather than the hostels fault, after that, the rooms and bathroom was cleaned frequently and kept very clean. The beds and rooms were great. I felt very safe and comfortable here. 🌅 The balcony has great views for sunset and sunrise, very peaceful to stare out and listen to the morning prayers and singing. The kitchen/eating area is the social area and I found it great to say hello and meet people that came in and out, both staff and other guests were super friendly! 🙏 I stayed for over a week, I relaxed and when I was ready to explore, the staff were so helpful and the world reallt opened up for me! They speak English and will help with bus/boat times, just overall, really helpful and kind. I went with Ajai to the Nallur Kandeswamy temple for a festival, he showed me around, took us on a bicycle and explained everything! I really loved my adventures with him and our connection, I consider him a good friend now :) ✌️ My room with A/C was 2500 per night and I think that's a great price with all that you get with it. The breakfast was always delicious, I didn't use the gym, however, its great that they offer this free of charge with your stay. There are food options within walking distance too, mostly dosas and traditional food! I got hungry one night and Ajai let me use his bicycle to go and get some food, great guy! They lock the doors at 10pm which is helpful to know. 🛵 Id recommend a scooter for exploring Jaffna, my friend taught me how to ride one here, the hostel rent them for 2500 a day, we came back late and they charged a little extra which was completely fair. ❤️Overall, great hostel, amazing staff and I truly loved my whole experience in Jaffna. Absolutely disgusting place. We switched to 2 different rooms and everybody got bitten by bed bugs. Ac doesn’t work properly. No blankets or towels. Not up to par with what you see in photos. I have over 20 bites on my face and like another 60 more over my body. Absolutely disgusting especially when because it was my last few days here and every other place I stayed at; I had none of these issues. Just ruined my trip in the ending. Would not recommend

I checked in at Yarl Hostels for a short stay. The hotel is located in the middle of Jaffna town with quick access to shops, major attractions, and bus, and railway stations. The receptionist boy was very welcoming and helpful. He says “once guests leave the room we take great responsibility in cleaning and preparing the room for the next” and their effort is visible. The air-conditioned room is clean, bright, and equipped with a television and wi-fi. The downsides of the hotel are accessible parking and a washroom. The hotel is located in a commercial area and only a few parking spots are available. Rooms don’t have attached washrooms and they are separate. I would recommend the place to anyone looking for a short stay.

This hostel has everything you need to stay. There is a gym on the premises, very modern, for the use of the co-inhabitants of the hostel as well, included in the price. The location is very good, everything close and accessible, in the center, you can walk to various points of tourist interest. The hostel has an equipped and clean communal kitchen. Wi-Fi works very well. The shared bathroom has hot water. The room has air conditioning and a fan. Despite being in the center, next to the road, the noise is isolated. And the service is impeccable. The people here are very friendly and helpful in whatever you need. The receptionist is practical and attentive. Everything adds up in this place, I recommend

Very nice and clean hostel. The host gave me a towel and breakfast, both was for free. I was able to decide what i want to have for breakfast and he organised it fast early in the morning (7:30am) And if you like they give you a Moskito net aswell;) The hostel is right in the center, so possible to walk to all sightseeing spots. I can highly recommend this cheap hostel !

Our stay was for 3 nights at Yaaral, they provide us really good jaffna breakfast. Rooms are really comfartable. Frendly people. Place with value for money...

Everything was good..But only one thing is I booked a large couple bed.. unfortunately I got a separate single beds...hope next time I can get more effective rooms

We went there to rent some bikes to travel in jaffna area. Their service is excellent. Very friendly and flexible. Helped us a lot. The prices are also reasonable. You can rent motor bicycle as well as foot bicycle there.

Visited Yarl Hostel to stay there for a night. We requested a triple room and received a family room with two big King sized beds. The prices are totally reasonable and the price matches with the place. However, the bathroom which is placed outside the room is not properly cleaned and the surrounding is not friendly. We requested breakfast next morning but they remembered nothing and we left even without breakfast. Room has an almirah, 32 inches tv with a cable connection, mirror table, three chairs and a table.

I booked the hostel for two days but the receptionist made a blunder booking me only for one day. To make matters worse,vthe room was not clean, bathroom appauling, and no one at reception at 7.30 am in the morning. The receptionist kept my National ID and told me that it was returned to me. After a month , I have still not got the ID and the receptionist is not contactable. Unfortunately not a nice experience specially when you are from a far away place where assistance rather than hazzle is what is required!!!

Easy reach to Jaffna town, station and other locations. Fair prices, good service, clean and economical place.

I haven't stayed here but the reason for ranking this is the help they have given to get a bicycle to travel the Jaffna places. Yaarl Hostel guys extended their service for me even though I stayed in another hotel. I rented a Scooty (Honda Pleasure) for 2500 LKR per day without fuel. That was really helped me to travel all the places which I wanted to explore in Jaffna. Thank you for the friendly hands - Yaarl Hostels.

Location alsmost nearly for city watching...but rooms and service very poor facility .... But shape than other places from budget travelers..

Me and my colleagues had a great time there. We almost stayed there for a week. Amazing place, Friendly staff, Fair Rates, clean and comfortable. It was so easy for us to do our work alongside having fun as well. Can recommend for anyone who’s traveling to Jaffna, it’s right next to the Jaffna bus stand and market.

Very good option in Jaffna. We slept in the room 2. It was enormous, the room was super clean, the bed was very comfortable, a balcony, A/C... You have access to the kitchen. Nice room, Well located, cheap and friendly staff.

Very clean and comfortable hostel for little price. The breakfast was for you to make yourselfe. So they had a table with bread and toaster and some marmalade and butter. Another table with tea and coffee to make. But that's completely ok for a hostel and better than when you have to wait for long time. I'm glad I changed to this hostel after my first two nights in another one.

..they made me habe a good stay...some water after heavy monsun in the dorm...cold shower...but free breakfast for me even it was not incl.on booking...bycile 300SLR scooter 1.800....fair enough...
