Went to Jaffna, North of Sri Lanka for a short trip. We explored many places to find an affordable, clean accommodation with good Jaffna style food - ended up at ‘Nallur Residence’. This place is great! Atmosphere is chill and the staff is also really friendly. They know what they’re doing and what they’re talking about, and you can tell making the customers happy is their main priority. Do yourself a favor and visit this lovely guest house in Nallur. The staff truly cares about your experience. The food is absolutely amazing – everything we tasted melted in other mouths. Absolutely the best meal we had while in Jaffna. Highly recommend!

We spent a nice night in this residence. The personnel was very professional and the food was perfect, we had the most complete breakfast !! + it is near the nallur kandaswamy temple. I would definitely recommend the residence (:

*Highly Recommended* If you're looking for a home away from home, "Nallur Residence" it is! My aunt and I were traveling from Canada and stayed here for a week. We had the best experience in terms of hospitality, food, transportation arrangements, local connections to places, and laundry services, not to mention the cleanest rooms in the safest neighborhood. Haran was the best in arranging any needs and ensuring we felt safe & comfortable during our stay! Situated among greenery right in the premises of Nallur temple, waking up each morning to the sound of bells and mantras set a peaceful tone for the day! Authentic Jaffna style tea, snacks, and meals were to die for. Never had I looked forward to the variety of breakfast in my life, as I did at Nallur Residence (pictures explain better). The experience and comfort are worth every buck! I DEFINITELY WOULD STAY HERE IN MY FUTURE VISITS, AND HIGHLY RECOMMEND TO THOSE TRAVELING JAFFNA (NORTHERN PROVINCE, SRI LANKA) 🙏🏾

This is an absolutely fabulous guest house. The rooms are clean, large, and comfortable. The location is excellent. The owner is incredibly friendly, attentive, and a wealth of local knowledge. The breakfast is great. What more could you possibly need?!

The residence is situated in a fantastic location close to the temple, and some of the tourist attractions are walkable. The accommodation is a house converted into an home stay with, en-suite bathrooms and AC, fan, hot Water and comfortable beds and clean bedding, very comfortable. Haran the Manager, is the biggest asset of this property he takes pride in serving you, his knowledge and contacts through out Jaffna are fantastic, I had total confidence in letting him book my trips to Delft island and Tuk Tuk guide Koshi who was also very good. I had a puncture on my motor bike, and had to arrange pick up by truck, he arranged all in 30 minutes and found me a new tyre( I think the only one in Jaffna to fit my bike) and waited with me to get it fixed. The breakfast we have been served as been some of the best I have had in Sri Lanka, and I have had some very good ones. Over all great stay with a great man running it. You will see us again and will recommend. Many thanks for making Jaffna that little bit more amazing.

My friends and I enjoyed a wonderful stay at Nallur Residence. The location is amazing - a 3 minute walk to the stunning Nallur Temple and a convenient starting point for excursions to Point Pedro and Delft Island. Rooms are vlean and spacious and the beds are comfortable. A/C is available. Showers are very hot with good pressure. Haran (our host) was helpful, kind and laid back. We enjoyed talking to him and he made our time in Jaffna very relaxed. He knows all the local spots and is fluent in English. Breakfast every morning was delicious and filling and he even packed us breakfast to take with us on the island. I highly recommend Nallur Residence to anyone visiting Jaffna! I'll be staying here again whenever I return.

We had a FABULOUS 3 day stay at Nallur Residence. Haran speaks perfect English and personally took us all around the greater Jaffna region to visit amazing beaches, ancient ruins, churches, temples, fishing villages, markets. He made sure we tasted all the local fruits and dishes, and the ones he couldn't find in the market he prepared for us at home. Breakfasts are absolutely amazing with local specialities cooked to taste and delicious fruits and tea. Haran helped plan our onward journey, served as translator when we went to visit distant family and did our laundry, which were added bonuses. We couldn't have asked for a better host!

This house is a residence of historical significance. I have deleted details because my wife gave me a "blast". Suffice to say: ask Haran about the history of the dining table. The host ( Haran) has turned the residence into a comfortable guesthouse. Haran has overseas experience, and unlike his Sri Lankan counterparts is a competent operator who goes the extra mile to provide an excellent guest experience. The guest can be assured of being well looked after. Depending on your preference, Haran is equally adept at providing the Sir or the Bro experience. Haran also has his finger on the pulse of all the 'happenings', tourist attractions, and developments on the Jaffna peninsula. The guest would be well advised to consult him for suggestions. I had a very enjoyable trip; thanks mainly to the very significant contribution by Haran. This is not a five star hotel. If you are the sort of person who has those expectations, whilst paying 'peanuts', can't 'chill', and likes to 'whine and whinge', do Haran a favour and stay away.

Comfy place in the vicinity of the Nallur Kandaswami Kovil, owned by Haran - who is a hospitable guy. Worth for money and also the breakfast provided was awesome which consist variety of tasty Indian / authentic Jaffna food. Also most of the places such as Jaffna fort, Library, Market are within 4 -5 Km radius from the hotel. Furthermore the help and the guidance given by Haran was phenomenal, in order to manage our trip in an efficient manner. Highly recommend this place and looking forward to stay there in future engagements.

I spent a couple of days at Nallur Residence. Haran the owner is a great and a very caring host. He helped me to rent a bicycle and also helped me with shopping. The food which was ordered from out was very tasty and wholesome.

Very nice place. The owner was very friendly and recommended us a German tuk tuk driver, which made an absolute great Job. The breakfast was also great, and the owner even drove to our busstation at the end, to check if we managed it 😄 very nice guy!

The rooms have AC and comfortable beds and good shower. Haran is a fantastic host, he is very hospitable. He arranged great breakfasts every morning and helped us out with all the necessary information. He arranged and advised us good places for dinner. Top notch service by Haran and team, so much of valuable information provided about jaffna. Good location just 2 minutes from Nallur. On our last day we had to leave jaffna very early at 3am. Haran was awake and serving us coffee. Great experience.

The place Looks nice. But there is no name board to be seen. The entrance is not obvious, looks like just another residential gate. I had to check Google map to find how the gate looks.

Really nice place to visit Jaffna. Right next to Nallur Kovil where we could attend to Pongal day ceremony (14/1) and very close to Mango Restaurant and Rio Ice creams, 2 must seen food places in Jaffna. Room was very large and a bit old but we have a 4 very pleasant nights for our family of 5. Special thanks to Haran who take care of us with big breakfast each morning, arrange Jaffna Peninsula Tour for us and explain a lot of hindu life style and worship.

Very convenient location as it is located at the heart of Jaffna Town close to Nallur Temple. The owner is super friendly and will go an extra mile to help you to go ahead with your planned trip. Do not forget to ask the owner his document which contains all the attractions and things you can do in Jaffna. If you follow that, basically you could cover everything easily. There is ample parking space and even got shade under all the trees in the garden. The owner offered me traditional Jaffna food one morning and had breakfast with him, the food was super and was so full to start the day. Nothing to second guess if you are considering this place. Totally worth it.
