On a new year day, I was there to have the lunch with my family, well very bad experience. 1. No well comming 2. No plesent service 3. No expersnce staff 4. Service very poor 5. Not well train trainee Staffs 6. Even the experience Staffs all so not care about the service 7. 1 hr taken to service the lunch 8. Had chicken soup, but I cannot seen single pcs of chicken 9. Restaurant was not clean well 10. No AC. Too hot environment Finally I took my luch packed and moove out of this place. Pls : Well train your staff !!! Do not damage the hotel name.

Best Hotel in Jaffna. The location and hotel looks so beautiful. Wedding hall facility is there. Out door shooting also accepted. Food are quite nice but expensive

Our stay at Thinnai was an amazing experience. The hospitality and impeccable service of Thinnai staff is what brings us back to repeatedly stay at 'The Thinnai' each time we travel to Jaffna. The Thinnai can be recommended as one of the best hotels in Jaffna.

Had a lovely stay at The Thinnai in Thennai suite which had a spacious hall with kitchen and a room with an outdoor jacuzzi. The place felt like home and overall a great experience. The staff were very friendly and helpful.

We went to the restaurant. No buffet, so ordered. Food is decent taste. But pot of rice and vegetables were in tiny containers. We left most of the rice out as we ran out of vegetables

My classmates and I, from my school S. Thomas's prep school visited Jaffna to mark the occasion of being friends for over 50 years. We stayed at the Thinnai for 2 nights and I loved the accommodation. I must thank the GM for making sure that no stone stayed unturned in making this a fantastic experience.

The food quality is horrible, everything was either cold or taste was bad. I went to many different spots around Jaffna and can easily say this was the worst ranked. The waiter said one of the dishes we ordered is for only one person but we clearly asked if it’s shareable and he said no. We went ahead and ordered two but one dish was more than enough for 2 people. If they know your foreigners they will try to make more money off of you.

We were a group of 14 and it took soo soo long for them to prepare our food . The people who came after us got their food before us. At the end of the day it was really a big disappointment after the long wait . They messed up with the serving , the food was not tasty but the final bill came to a thumping amount.The staff was friendly but not experienced. I would not recommend at all . Only the architecture of the place was good .

excellent beach hotel. friendly and smiling staff, bungalows with mosquito nets and mosquito repellent, very good bedding, own fridge. towels changed every 2 days. Maintained garden and beach. quiet and peaceful. we strongly recommend.

Great hotel located within close proximity to the Jaffna town. Super Service. Spacious, clean chalets. Private Jacuzzis in some of the chalets. Clean swimming pool. Need to improve a bit on the quality of the food. Other than that Definitely would recommend to anyone 10/10. Looking forward to spending my next vacay at The Thinnai

We stayed for two nights, the room is great, very clean, the service excellent with all staff working hard and being very attentive. The food is delicious, we had also demonstration of cooking crab curry which was great, special thanks to the chef! Some of the restaurant staff were new and less experienced but tried their best to provide good service.

We spent a wonderful three nights at The Thinnai, staying in the Mallihai Suites. The suite was well-equipped, featuring a large living area and a jacuzzi for added relaxation. While the overall food was good, the authentic Jaffna dishes truly stood out for their exceptional flavor. The staff were incredibly friendly and provided us with excellent service. All in all, our stay was very pleasant.

We had a suite and the cleanness of the room was not really there. It was impossible to have darkness in the bedroom. There was a green light above the tv. It’s a permanent light and that doesn’t make any sens in a bedroom. At the entrance there are fishes swimming in a dirty green water… that’s not a good start. That’s really the first thing you see when you arrive in the hotel. The gardens are nice and there’s a swimming pool. The staff was kind and helpful. The welcoming ritual is thoughtful.

We stayed at The Thinnai Hotel, located at 86 Palaly Road, Jaffna, Sri Lanka hotel in the second week of September 2023, during the Nallur Kandaswamy temple festival time. The services and hospitality provided by the entire hotel staff were excellent and exceeded our expectations. The reception associates helped us seamless check-in & check-out processes. The concierge desk associates greatly helped us all baggage handling and local travel arrangements very expediently and promptly. The Thaamarai (Lotus) two rooms suite we occupied was fairly reasonable size with comfortable king size beds and two big size bathrooms with all needed toiletries. All service crew in the breakfast & dining area, room service and room maintenance provided great & outstanding services. The entire hotel service staff were so friendly and very accommodate to our needs, that made our stay in Jaffna very pleasant and so memorable. Many thanks to the management team for keeping the entire property very nice and clean, and keep maintaining the great hospitality services at it's very high standards. We highly recommend this property for families & with kids, tourist groups and business travelers. We exclusively would like to thank wholeheartedly to the General Manager Mr. Norman De Jonk for promptly informing us about the monetary funds thsoe we left behind the cabinet drawers. It's so great that you made exceptional arrangements to return them back to us very promptly and in timely manner. Stayed for 3 nights. The overall experience was quite nice. Rooms are very clean and bigger than expected, got a small living area with a kitchen, then a jacuzzi in the back. Its perfect. The staff is very polite and friendly. Food is alright i was having breakfast only. The place has a very soothing vibe.

The rooms are spacious and the receptionists are friendly. The prices are reasonable anyhow could able to see a huge variation after covid. U will have access to swimming pool and gym. The room consists of refrigerators other than other usual rooms. The internet strength is low so better to ask for wifi from the hotel which is free. Eventhough there is AC, I didnt use it because of the cool temperature in the room.

Excellent customer service apart from few minor set backs. There was no single rooms available so we had to share the rooms. Food is overly pricy(comparatively) unless you get a deal or some arrangement. Breakfast buffet has the same selections every day. Taste is ok but no "wow" factor.

They were extremely accommodating and allowed us to check in early at like 9 am . We got to hotel super early and I didn’t wanna wait. So this was a big plus. The sevice was exceptional as well. Would definitely send a friend there. The food at Thinnai exceptional! Very tasty and well prepared and you can chose among many menu options. I love the service at the place and the chef is so friendly with the guests and always takes care to offer the best quality! Very comfortable stay, with a hospitable staff.Nice calm environment. We had the luxury of a suite with ample space and all the facilities, a jacuzzi behind our suite.They have a big pool in which we had a refreshing midnight dip. and a fully equipped gym. Your GM, Resident Manager/F & B Manager, Restaurant staff, House keeping staff and Front Office staff went out of their way to make our stay comfortable. These my plus points. However I wish to mention that room number 404, whilst was very well appointed, the SERIOUS NEGATIVE POINT IS THAT THE STAIRWAY TO UPPER FLOOR DOES NOT HAVE HAND RAILS AND WAS VERY DANGEROUS WHILE WE WENT UP AND DOWN. I STRONGLY RECOMMEND THAT THI BE CORRECTED ASAP BEFORE THERE’S AN ACCIDENT.

Yesterday we went to their restaurant in the third floor. The worst ever food I have had. We were staying in Thalsevana where the food was really good. A group of 15 went to their restaurant and we turned back really really disappointed. There was no value for money the food was horrible and the service was even more horrible. A lot of people recommended this place and that’s why we actually turned up there. I am sorry I will never ever recommend this place to anyone. Please don’t order chapathi from their menu. I think they should rename it as papadam chapathi and their nan was like Arabic bread. Their crab curry was just horrible.

This is a very good hotel in all aspects. The rooms were large, spacious and modern. The service is excellent. I felt that the food was authentic. Many Jaffana food options and western options are offered. I thoroughly enjoyed the stay. The pool is relatively small but not busy. Suits have cookers and utensils for self cooking. The restaurant become quite busy in the night.

The service is superb... no complaints at all. They were really friendly and helpful indeed. Food is tasty buffet is good but the variety is not superb but good. Rooms are totally clean and nice. Colorful rooms and great architecture. Location is also great near the town. Rates are bit expensive but cant complaint because value for money. It is amazing overall 👏 😍

Had dinner with my family while my short atay in jaffna . Food is very delicious. Serving time is acceptable . Very friendly staff . Though bit expensive worth for the money we paid.
