Rani mahal is decent, but the cynosure of attention is Chaman mahal, where the first founder -king of Bhopal kingdom, Dost Mohd Khan, ruled from. What endeared the place to me were the decently curated gardens in the chowks at Rani mahal and the char bagh style lawns at Chaman Mahal. At the latter, the hamam is truly worth checking out. Ask the friendly staff, they'll guide u. The Sheesh mahal entrance offers an engaging array of pictures from the era with brief descriptions. An easy to approach location, though the way itself is nothing scenic. Walking shoes are a good idea though one can do with any comfortable footwear. There's a dedicated picnic-ing area - a great idea in a food loving nation and state, like ours. A small cafeteria and some shops outside are also available which stock usual road side fare. Needless to add,a camera is a must have. Give it 2 hours, commute extra.

Islam Nagar fort has entry fee of Rs. 10/- per head. Garden are very well managed. The building needs a bit of maintenance. The parking is available free of cost. Drinking water is available. Toilets are there. Nothing edibles are sold inside. So take your own snacks or food. Overall very good place to spend time.

Very poorly maintained. Though under ASI there is severe lack of community outreach as the people displayed no interest in the cultural and political heritage enshrined in the monument.

Situated 11 km from BHOPAL at Islamnagar. It’s constructed by Dost Mohammad Khan in 1720. This beautiful place once now a dilapidated structure urgently needed major overhaul. Garbage and dirt mess spreading everywhere. Parking space is sufficient. Govt authorities should ban picnic 🧺 at this historical place. In just few year this place have chance of extinction .... very ☹️ 😔 sad.

Heritage site of bhopal. Falls under state govt and is nt v well maintained. There is the stench of bat poo in the dark corridors and there are barely any gaurds inside. The building is cracking, there are no guides, no proper parking area, names inscribed on every wall. Only the garden is well maintained as is actually beautiful. My advice, read up well before visiting.

Won't say it's the best but yes worth visiting once. Must have been a beautiful place but now badly managed .I find most of the walls restored and repaired .A room with blue glasses door ...some old paintings , a Hanan a, ..Can visit with family ...little difficult for elders as there are stairs..a small outlet of tea and some snacks.good garden to sit and play with children

Best place for photoshoot and videography. Situated 12 km from Bhopal. Good place to go with friends and family. Good place for picnic too. Mahal is huge and very exciting infrastructure. There is no bathroom, water station might be available. Not well maintained.

Chaman Mahal ("Garden Palace") is a red sandstone structure built by Dost Mohammad Khan. It is surrounded by gardens and fountains, and is ornamented with floral motifs. The architecture is a synthesis of the Malwa-Mughal architecture, with Bengali-influenced drooping eaves. The ruined palace has a Mughal water garden and a hamam (Turkish bath). Rani Mahal A part of the Rani Mahal. Rani Mahal ("Queen Palace") is a double-storey  complex (female residence).

Once Islamnagar was the capital of the then Bhopal State and is now situated about 20 kms from Bhopal city and is home to the magnificent Islamnagar Fort. It was built by the first Nawab of Bhopal Dost Mohammad Khan. Dost Mohammad was an Afghan commander in the Mughal army who rose to power and built the Bhopal State.

Excellent palace located in Islamnagar, North of the city of Bhopal. It is a very charming place with only few tourists coming there. Next to the Rani Mahal, the Chaman Mahal is situated. Both are very intersting and nicely maintained.
