The ambience is good. Not great but good. The food is also good but not amaze me so much. The waitress and staff are very nice and friendly. They can give you recommendation to meet your taste. I expected so much for the food but turns out it didn’t amaze me so much. But of course you should try this place to have brunch.

Amazing food, a fusion of Indonesian and foreign cuisines. Be sure to try lodeh salmon. That's something you dont always see. Friendly staffs. High end services. Great meals. The grilled chicken was delicious. I tried the coffee and i loved it.

Fantastic!!! If you are traveling to Jakarta and keen to try good quality/fusion Indonesian/Asian food, then this is the place to go. The place is hip and the atmosphere is perfect to hang out with friends. Order the fried duck, amazing!!

food tastes good but not the best, went here for christmas gathering & ordered their christmas special package: - TRUFFLE PERFUMED CURRIED BUTTERNUT SOUP 4.5/5⭐️ one of the best in the package, had layers of flavor. truffle was strong & you’ll instantly taste it - PIE OF THE SHEPHERDS 4.7/5⭐️ tastes great & i loved the texture. creamy & delight - LEMON BUTTER ROASTED CHICKEN 3.5/5⭐️ served with veggies which were very flavorful & tasty! however the roasted chicken itself was a bit bland & dry - HONEY GLAZED 8 HOURS GAMMON 4/5⭐️ tender but some parts are a bit tough. a bit too sweet but still tastes good - PECAN TART 4.3/5⭐️ tastes great, the ice cream goes really well with the tart - STICKY TOFFEE PUDDING 3/5⭐️ can only eat a bite since it tastes way too sweet excluded from the package: - Ayuverda 4/5⭐️ - Roasted Baby Potato 4.5/5⭐️ flavorful! - Crispy Wagyu Brisket 4.3/5⭐️ ambience was good, servers were really helpful & nice. overall good experience

An absolute best in Asian fusion cuisines combining exciting flavours from around Asia. A bit expensive perhaps but it's worth every penny. The dishes are pretty to look at but more importantly they are simply scrumptious. This, combined with excellent service, make it a must when you are in town!

Excellent Asian fusion restaurant with just the right amount of south east Asian mixed flair to satisfy even foreign palates. Service is also top notch.

GIOI is a fusion done right. A very nice sitting down restaurant for family or business meetings alike, GIOI offers a variety of Vietnamese fusion dishes. I’d highly recommend their crispy pork salad, crispy duck feast, pork neck, salmon lodeh. Just like its namesake, the food is really is well done. The only downside is the price.

Their Crispy Duck and Crying Tiger were the star of my family lunch. Tried the Salmon Lodeh as well, it was quite good but nothing compares to the Duck & Beef, it’s super tasty! Great ambiance, friendly staff, well lit dining area (some of it) and super colorful interior design (perfect for pictures lol). Overall, it was a nice experience, definitely will come back :)

Service was great, the waitress was so communicative and helpful. Came there and tried their signature crispy duck but it tasted meh, I mean I’ve been tried lots of duck all over the country and was too disappointed when my friend said that this is the best duck in Jakarta, it’s too fatty and fishy, but the texture is okay. The rice was too cold, don’t know why don’t they re-heat it first before they serve it to the customer 😶 Oh and their sambal is the worst, the sambal matah has rotten, I don’t know whether it’s only the bad onion or the whole sambal matah, the color is so bad too (compared to other review that has the sambal matah photo included). And their cabe potong used bad chili too. Sooo disappointed and it doesn’t worth the money, not at all.

Souffle was light and puffy, as for texture, it almost feels like you're eating a bit of cloud, cus they melt in your mouth. I enjoyed the duck but I would rather order something else that's worth the $$

The restaurant setting was beautiful, but the dishes were hit and miss. And the service felt too casual at this price point, particularly since there were so many wait staff. The satays on sugar cane were delicious, but the mutton fried rice was a miss, as was the soup with tofu. Mocktails were.. just OK. Overall, a bit too flashy and not enough substance.

Love their cocktails. Fruit juice is so so (had the watermelon n it was quite bland). Service is great and waiters are very polite. Love their environment, cozy for chats with friends. For smokers, there is a smoking area upstairs

Had family gathering here. Let’s break down the bad things first: Food is….okay. I mean, for the price we had to pay, i expected whole lot more. The sambals were weak, the duck tasted just okay, and many others. No dish leave a lasting memory to me. But the great thing: food quality is amazing, everything is super fresh. Also, service is amazing! Waiters are super attentive, food is delivered quickly, valet is courteous.

Was here for year end office lunch event and we had a great time here! As always their service was top notch, all the staff were helpful and very attentive. Food were all delicious. If you come in group, you must order their fried crispy duck package, with aromatic herb rice, crispy and well seasoned ducks, and 3 choices of sambal that can be shared for 3-4 people.

In general food was ok, nothing new nothing exciting. The place feels old and stuffy, a bit hot. Recommended Fried duck - overall solid no complaints Mala chicken? - Fried chicken popcorn with mala spices. Good for snacking Ok Salmon lodeh - taste flat Not recommended Fried calamari - low quality calamari, chewy and smells a bit We ordered more but dont remember and everything else was either ok or not recommended.

Excellent restaurant. My favourite crispy duck well done and great salmon soup. Fried Toufu with slight salt and flavour is a superb starter.

All 4 dishes that my parents and I ordered were impeccable. The dessert I ordered for the table, GIOI's black rice pudding with mango compote and spiced mango ice cream, got a unanimous compliment as well. For the entree, we ordered: GIOI's signature crispy duck (half) with kecombrang rice, crispy pork belly with fresh salad, soft shell crab with two buns, and kailan pork belly. The crispy pork belly with the fresh salad really stands out because it's a very balanced dish. The acidity in the salad really helps reduce the richness of the pork belly. If anything, you have to eat it quickly or the skin could be chewy/tough when cold. The duck IS super crispy, the rice is super good with the kecombrang added to it. It is again a very balanced dish. I also ordered a cocktail but it's nothing special --maybe I should try a different one. I docked ONE star for hygiene and sanitation. My mother ordered a chamomile hot tea and she didn't notice until half way thru the tea that there's A DEAD BUG inside the pot. It was bad. We're hoping it's not a cockroach or a fly. Either way, a bug can carry diseases. However, the manager replaced the tea with a new one, took it out of our order and gave the table a 10% discount. If I were him, I would've offered my guests a free lunch for the next visit but it's still a nice gesture :). Anyway, this is my first time ever to visit GIOI and I will be back :).

The food in Gioi will never fail you. The consistent quality and taste, and the variety are excellent. Pork belly, fried duck, pomelo salad and salmon lodeh are must dishes to be ordered.

Reading the menu was really appetizing. So my deception was real when I found out that most dishes were overwhelmingly sweet, rich, salty and mushy - taking away most of the pleasure in tasting the produces (ironic for a farm to table kind of restaurant.)

Tasty food with great ambience, various menu you can choose, don't miss the "special nasi kecombrang". Have a pleasant dining experience!

At first, didn't expect a lot of things from the restaurant. After trying out the menu, there's 1 word to represent it: 'Rich' Everything is so rich and flavourful. Recommend to try their duck, salmon lodeh, brisket, and crispy pork

Gioi is a great vibe to have a causal lunch or dinner with colleagues or friends, classy enough to impress but not big enough that it’s intimidating. Interior is separated into smoking and non-smoking areas. The smoking areas upstairs has live music, late, and it’s quite a vibe as you can see from the photos. Food was of course, good, but not impressive enough to want to make a second reservation. Bebek Goreng, Brisket and Salmon Lodeh was honestly not bad and had a modern-ish vibe to it. Of course, traffic is a killer during peak period, but hey, how is that news when you’re in Jakarta?

We had the duck, popcorn chicken, and the seasonal prawn. The food wasn't the best one (nor fresh), although it's still edible. We liked the ambience and cleanliness, hence, 3 stars for the decent experience

Gioi is Vietnamese for “clever or well done, capable” and it was truth in advertising. You see the Vietnamese touches in the tableside tossed mango-fish sauce salad, etc. Surprisingly good; the fusion bao and duck w the sambal matah were excellent. Salmon lodeh was ok but salmon was overcooked - opt instead for the popcorn chicken w sriracha sauce on the side for dipping. Service was Indonesian-attentive and fast w a quick wave or nod, interior space is well done and modern. Parking is (as is norm for Senopati) tight -right next to 3 buns!

Tried the infamous Salmon Lodeh and Gioi Special Crispy Duck Rice, it’s so delicious. They also have a nice live music show. Perfect food, good ambience, 10/10 would come back for more.

Very nice place for eat. The food was very good, looks clean place but a little small so probably you have to book in advance because will be full book. The price is good enough. They have Asian food and a little fusión. I like it and I will come back again.

Came here for anniversary dinner. The lower ground area is for dining - ambience is cozy. Upstairs is meant for live music - couldn’t really see the interior because it was dark - but lots of leafy greens. The menu is Asian fusion. We ordered Salt and Pepper Tofu for appetizer, Salmon Lodeh, Beef dish (forgot the name), Kecombrang Rice and Pandan Lava for dessert. All the food was delicious. The Rice Kecombrang was fragrant and tasty, the beef was tender, the salmon lodeh was savoury and love the tofu. We wanted to try Es Teler Flambe but unfortunately the kitchen was out of it so we tried Pandan Lava - pretty good too. The service was great - staffs are friendly, helpful and on their toes. Price was on the upscale side but it’s okay because of the taste. Will return to try other dishes.

Parking space a little bit too small but they offered vallet service. Nice place, Nice ambience, friendly staff. Food taste just average, ordered the pork neck, the meat is little bit cold and hard to chew. The taste of the duck and balinese chicken for me is just average, but the sambal terasi is quite delicious. For the dessert i ordered the dark chocolate soufflé, average taste with bitter aftertaste and considering the price, i'd say its a little bit expensive.

Went for company dinner. Freeflow gin&tonic of course best menu. And quite reasonable price. Food is amazingly good. Especially gioi rice. Evaluation based on 5 as best rating Taste : 4.5 Portion : 4.5 Cleanliness : 5 Contents : 4.5 Price : 3.5 (500k for 2 persons is quite expensive but of course the experience is different)

Taste delicious and good ambience. Food portion is decent as well which means it’s just the right size. The crispy roast duck is a must try! The tofu bites as appetizer is also awesome.

  • 4/5 Greg S. 2 years ago on Google
The duck was delicious and the sambal is to die for. The crispy pork is not that crispy and the skin was also rather chewy it sticks to your gum when you eat it. The tropical shaved ice is okay, but the condiments (the wafers) seem like it has been in the open air for quite a while or maybe the storage was not closed properly
