Food wasn’t great at all. First few dishes were okay. There’s one dish that’s supposed to be laksa or curry but it tastes sticky and sour, like really off sour. The outer part is as chewy as rubber and tastes like nothing. We told the waiter and they said it is supposed to be like that. Didn’t even bother to give us a new plate. Duh? We were still expecting for more even then. Until the anticlimactic dessert where a baby cockroach came to join us. We thought it was an edible chocolate cockroach, but unexpectedly it runs!! We called the waiter again but they didn’t believe us until I showed them the video I captured that luckily has the cockroach cameo in it as a proof! They did prepared us a new one but we were too disappointed and traumatised to eat it anymore. No sorry was said, nothing.. not even by the ‘famous’ chef owner who happened to be there that night. Totally disappointed..

It is a fun dining experience at a good price point. However it is not molecular (nor really gastronomy). It was food with an interesting presentation. Do not expect a Gaggan (Bangkok, Thailand) or true molecular gastronomy experience - there are only a few spherical twists on food and emulsifications (and a bit of milk foam) that try to twist your perception on the taste vs appearance. The chef and staff clearly struggle with main course dishes and excel at the desserts or lighter, fun dishes - but the make your own soup/blend your own ingredients was neither fun nor had any surprise ending... we made our own soup at table. The reviews and photos show what you are in for, which reveals a menu that has not changed and stagnates - a pale shadow of what a place that bills itself as a molecular gastronomy place COULD be. The mediocre ambiance and space lost another star; I mean we could see the dishes being assembled on a table in the back! Our meat dish was served undercooked (see photos), which may have caused the table next to ours to leave early.

In one sentence? Amazingly freaky yet tantalizing and deliciously devilish? Hahaaha i just made up those sentence.. Anyway if you've never heard of Namaaz before. They actually have been around for 10 years.. It's maybe the 1st molecular gastronomy resto in Indonesia. Heard of it many times, but never actually tried it. Because just dunno what to expect. Well once you're here... Well... The waiter told us today's menu is 16 courses of their greatest hits compilation.. Expectation were rather high obviously.. Courses were coming.. Start is truthfully not perfect.. Hope to be punched more with flavors.. They're not bad by any means.. They are good... More than good.. But not exceptional.. The first exceptional dish for me personally is the palate cleanser.. Complete with dark room and synchronized lights from our plate. I thought this is just show.. Taste will be bland or something.. But voila.. That is one the best food I've put in my mouth. Bloody exceptional.. More courses coming.. The nasi timbel in the form of Cobekan is pretty tasty.. Its one of the highlights.. Together with beef and liquid-nitrogened foam that makes you breath smoke from both your mouth and nose is pretty good too.. Perfect for having a laugh with your special one.. Experience is 11/10 great.. So why food is 4 stars? Although I rate this resto 5 stars.. Well because in the end last course.. The rain coats were given to us, don't know what to expect.. They put the plate on our table and put I don't know what but it explodes into small pieces like crazy in front of us for a good minute or two.. Its actually a bit painful when it hit your bare skin.. A great great show and a great great experience.. But to be honest the taste of the dessert itself is well.. Average... That's my only gripe.. The other is exceptional for their service and even ambiance.. Food in total is 4.5 stars.. But since google don't have 4.5 stars I give them 4 stars although the entire review still bears perfect 5 stars from me. If you got the time and dough.. U have to try at least once before you die for the experience..

If you are from Australia, you know degustation is so expensive. If you visit Jakarta and would like to know what level of sophistication Jakarta can offer then you need to visit Namazz. Book ahead because they have a limited number of table. We have not tried degustation in Australia so we have nothing to compare but we enjoy the food although the story line presented along with the food is a-bit disjointed. But we’re not there for the story, we’re there for the experience and the food. Total there were 18 dishes ranging from savoury to sweet. At the end of the session we were super full.

If you’re looking for a new dining experience & have fun with disco strobe lighting then you come to the right place…We’re not comfortable with the settings & ambience. Decent price for such a molecular gastronomy experience with the focus of Indonesian Culture.

This got to be the worst “fine” dining restaurant I’ve ever been. I understand the concept is “fun” dining but I believe with IDR 1.4 mio/pp, you should still atleast serve decent tasting menus. Whilst I enjoyed the interactive dining style, the theme didn’t match up with the food and the concept from the movie felt lazy and confusing. This place proudly advertised their molecular gastronomy concept but we barely seen any molecular gastronomy menus on Season 9. There was probably only 3 meals that’s a bit unique but even that, almost all the food taste quite horrible considering the price. I was so excited at first as I’ve been wanting to try Namaaz since years ago, but now I regret my decision coming here. Please please don’t waste your time coming here. If it’s only 500k sure but definitely not worth spending more than that.

If you never had a molecular gastronomy, Namaaz is highly recommended to visit! It’s worth the money, if you look at how inspiring the concept is. One small note, just to keep your expectation right. This is not a fine dining spot, so don’t expect fancy decorations when you come in. My first impression when i came in to the place, it’s rather daunting, because you need to come in altogether with other group of diners, like coming in to a movie theater. Also, don’t expect a Michelin star taste of food, you enjoy it with sight, hearing and sensing, not so much on the taste bud. Comparing season 9, with other theme like horror movie, well.. the theme doesn’t really connect well with the food. But the finale is just awesome, you don’t want to miss that! The joy of eating molecular gastronomy stays with you, and your significant others for sure. Highly recommended if you never had a gastronomy dining experience before. If you did, maybe you can come here next year when the theme hits their 10th anniversary! Proud that Jakarta have our own gastronomy scenery

Visited in Jan 2024 Overall, it was a great 10/10 dining experience at Namaaz Dining. Fantastic and flavourful food coupled with very interesting ‘games’ and ‘gimmicks’ for a few courses which made the dinner a fun & fine dining experience. There is just one 17 course menu which takes you on a beautiful journey of Indonesian and Southeast flavours & tastes. Every course was well presented and explained. The dinner is well paced and you do not feel hurried up and full. Service is really good. The restaurant was able to cater to a certain allergy I have by replacing certain ingredients in a couple of dishes. There is no drinks menu and people seemed to bring their own which the restaurant can serve you - not sure if there is a corkage fee. All in all, this restaurant is a must visit if you’re in Jakarta. A 100% recommendation.

Taste wise i like the soto betawi that serving with emping spoon and nasi timbel that serve with nasiayam cobek. The cendol in kelapa is amazing. The finale they serve ice cream w queen music. Pretty fun dining experience. Don't expect the food to be "good", taste -wise (5/10). It's forgiven tho, because what they sell is the experience. Definitely one hell of an exquisite fine dining experience. My wife and I loved every moment of it. The food is very surprising and not what you’d expect. Our favorites were the candle and the lamb. There were some dishes that were average but most of the food was good. If you’re looking for something different this is a must-try restaurant.

It is one of those culinary experience you have to see for yourself to believe. The whole dinner course costs about Rp 1.250.000 per person, and you have to booked ahead. I’ve been coming here since 2016, and have tried several of Chef Andrian Ishak’s creative concepts of molecular gastronomy. It was fun and quirky to say the least.

Food flavour & texture is 3/5 but the concepts of the dinner service is unique so 4 star it is. Went during “retro video game” theme so there was an ingredient guitar hero mid-service (and strobe lights & music). An interesting experience, good to try once but food is not worth coming back.

Well, the food was OK (only), visually they are unique and interesting, but the taste was OK (Only). Namaaz is trying to bring the customers journey through out the 17 (I think) small courses with story telling, However, the story telling that were failing, the flow of the story I consider quite bad, the story flow were unclear, the presentation of the story were cheaply done, and the connection among the story and the food somehow badly connected. Moreover, as Namaaz is supposedly a fine dining place, it was quite noisy, whether from the kitchen or other guesses. The presentation of the closing dessert was good although again, the taste was OK. In conclusion, I think to try once is enough, but I wouldn't go back nor recommend this to my friends.

Firstly I want to say I love Namaaz and what they've done with Gastronomy but Video Games Season 9 was poor. I came here years ago for Horror Movie and that was amazing. This time around the story line didn't work with a dining experience. You find yourself on your phone more than necessary. I go to dinner to engage with people not play on my phone, call me old but I'd stay at home to do that. The quality of the main courses demonstrated good techniques but after many courses of fairly generic umami and gelatin I was disappointed. I see what they've tried to do but it just didn't work for me.

Came here for christmas eve dinner and it was the worst experience ever. The food was very unpleasant, i had stomach ache afterwards, they spend way too much for the gimmick, put sambal on every single dish, and didn’t care about how bad the food quality was. Came here for team dinner. Great & fun experience, especially the finale with the raincoat thing - not gonna spoil it here, but that was awesome! Food wise, it was ok but could be better for the price paid. There were couple of outstanding ones - cobek & the last dessert were the stars for me, the rest were fine but a few just didn't work. Also, kinda wish they tone down the carbs & give us more protein. 8 out of 17 dishes have lots of carbs element - small portions, but add that with the little break you get in between courses, even a big eater like me started to get full around the 10th course. We were so glad when they started to serve dessert menu. Some desserts are served with liquid nitrogen & anti-griddle, showcasing the molecular gastronomy element. One thing that's missing for me is the story. Tasting 17 different menus, I wished Namaaz take advantage of it and take us through a well-stitched food journey. Yes, the servers explained each menu clearly, but I failed to see the connection. Overall, definitely worth a try if you're looking for molecular gastronomy restaurant in Jakarta. Just manage your expectation flavor wise.

Food was great (except the gulai that I don't like hehe) and staffs were friendly. We had around 17 dishes but got extra 1 cos it was my birthday. Good one for your special occassion!!
