I've come here before and was quite impressed by the food and rooftop ambience so we came here again recently with family and friends for dinner. Meal after meal I started to regret because not even one dish passed average point. Paella was overcooked. Gambas the same. Pork belly was dry and not crispy and it's probably been sitting in the fridge for too long. The food nothing resembles spanish taste. Review on May 2018 (4 star): Great spanish resto serving tapas and drinks on the building top. Half area with aircond and another half open air rooftop bar. Relax atmosphere and suitable for children too. Traditional as well as newly created tapas with authentic taste. Place bit unpleasantly hot during lunch since the roof was glasses.

Apart of the view, this Por Que No is not the best tapas in Jakarta. All the black shirt guys were good. Except the big gal, the rest of black shirt gals were VERY VERY VERY slow, walked slow, did their jobs with cleaning up the table also slow (like don't know what to do), slow response when we called them (at least come first to the table if its not your job desc, don't pretend you don't see us), they also not taking orders which is they are in a lot of numbers. They are not that enthusiastic, its so annoying when see this kind of people. At the first, one gal welcomed us and asked us whether we have table or not, I answered the name and she no clue at all until asked her colleagues. We asked for indoor, she gave me outdoor. No clue at all. Croquette mushrooms so good. Potato was soggy...and too much mayonnaise. Beef meatballs was cold. Sautéed prawn was okay. Cold platter was good, yet the bread was not fresh...instead a lot a lot of olive, maybe try with melon? Or grapes? San Miguel beer was so flat.

Nearly everything about this place is wrong but the worst part is the food. Went on a Wednesday evening and at 7.30 pm and later we were the only guests. Food took some time; looked average but not too shabby. Their home made bread was alright but didn’t give the feeling that it was actually home made. The tomato topping was bland. For the croquettas taste was ok and nothing to really talk about; they were a bit too soft. Their steak tasted decent. Unfortunately the tacos felt like a small open wrap and didn’t taste very authentic. Worst was their paella; the top was over cooked and yet the rice underneath was way undercooked; nearly raw and overall it tasted dry and weird. For a restaurant which focuses on Spanish flavors have tacos and paella categories; the food just falls short in every possible way and while eating it we understood why we were the only guests. View from outside is nice for some seats but not from the majority of seats; it’s also too hot outside to really enjoy it sue to lack of fans or coolers. The inside interior felt incomplete and more like an amateur made it. Better avoid it - especially at the very high price point; other venues make it better.

Por Que No is one of the best place to get some dinner and chill out in Menteng Vicinity. Located in the top floor of a building with a spacious outdoor section, this place is best to visit during sunset. As they also serve alcohol, it would be an ideal date site to talk about the future. Their spacious outdoor space is also decorated with assortment of things and murals makes Por Que No a unique place. I went to this place a couple of days ago. Though the night is still young, PPKM restriction made Por Que No closed at 8 PM. I had their Falafel Sandwish with a bottle of beer. I tried the seafood Paella, and overall the taste was bland. I would recommend this place as a drinking spot with finger food, not recommend for serious eating. Getting a spot takes a while, as they limit seating especially outdoor. They say offer free vallet parking, but not sync with condition downstair.

It is an open space, so you can smoke there. They also have indoor area that is not too big, but I think it's enough. The food portion is too small for the price.
