The best fine dining i ever eat here (lyon mandarin oriental) french restaurant.. pork belly & beef tenderloin are the best (tasty and juicy). Baked lemon tart and speculaas really delicious..

Not worth the wait and your money. We are really disappointed when trying the Saturday brunch. After 1.5 month wait, we are met with mediocre food an dessert. We didn’t find any of the food in the buffet and ala carte are up to the price, the taste are bland and the quality is not worth 800k. The filling for the chicken, the fish and the porchetta are all the same, and it’s not even good. The sauces is also bland, need more seasoning and you cannot taste the herbs. The steak and the foei gras are also not worth the 800k price tag. The desserts is also disappointing, the pastry wasn’t buttery, the cream was not a good quality, the cheese are also not a good quality. The service is nice but lack attentiveness. Overall Lyon really need to improve their food quality, taste and also service.

Very worth it considering the price. Mind you that I'm pretty stingy. Great food presentation and ambience. There are lots of waiters too, unfortunately they're all busy, there should have at least one or two waiters standby. Funny thing was the waiters at the booth was shaking when cutting and putting meat to my dish lmao. You should be more relaxed dude 😂.

Their Saturday brunch is one of the better hotel buffets in Jakarta. They don't hold back on the items they offer. You can find pearl lobsters, baked oysters, jamon, as well as rare cheese such as Tete de Moine. The carving station also had a great deal to choose from, on my visit they had porchetta, cola glazed ham, smoked brisket and lamb leg. My favourite has to be the Steak Tartare station. They use chilled beef and make it a la minute. Premium and proper beef tartare. Don't forget their free flow ala carte which includes foie gras, morel risotto, prime tenderloin steak au poivre, chicken roulade, bouillabaisse (my favourite) and lobster omelette. The plated desserts are pretty! But they're a tad bid too sweet for me. My favourite is the mille feuille made with sourdough crust. Coffee and tea are included in the package. Some credit cards can give you discounts, so you might want to look out for that.

Lyon has recently made huge improvements on both food and service. Janice has done an amazing job at making sure the foh and boh works together to create an amazing experience, the staff training has obviously been improved and the atmosphere is now warm and welcoming. Our server Riccardo was at the table just before I started to look for him, the food came out quickly and correctly, and he was able to talk us through each dish. Highly recommend.

This is one of the best restaurants in Jakarta. The food is always extraordinarily well prepared. The service is courteous and very professional. Lyon has a refined upscale ambiance. Go out of your way to come here.

Staff is friendly; but not too attentive. Used plates will stay on your table for a long time during their brunch. Once you get up to walk around the buffet you are constantly about to run into staff. Staff at times around the bar is loudly laughing among themselves. Everything you ask for takes forever, eg dessert spoon ; staff will be gone for 10 minutes. Same when they noticed there was no glass on my table to get water; gone for 10 minutes - my friend saw her then chatting with a colleague in the corner for several minutes while holding my glass in her hand. Food? A la carte brunch menu was small - digital version with QR code on table and print out were different. Portion services was a joke; extremely small. Buffet itself - alright some good seafood options but in general very limited and a large amount of it is filled for salads and cheese or crisps. Overall unfortunately over priced; inexperienced staff; and a setting that I wouldn’t want to go back to.

Entree (black cod) of set menu is amazing. Appetizer is not up to my liking (maybe just preference). Dessert? Horrible. They served us their take on profiterole, cut in half, with ice cream in the middle (kinda like burger). How the hell do you eat that? Two hard shells, with ice cream in the middle? You can not cut it to pieces so you can eat it gracefully, in the end I just eat it like burgers but it got messy. People who try foolishly to look fine while dining (as this is a fine dining restaurant), they eat the top shell first, then eat rhe ice cream, then eat the bottom shell. Just stupid. This is an example when a chef tried too hard to make the dish look good but ruin the dini g experience.

Very nice food. A fine quality of steak. Cooked really well. Barramundi also very nice. Beef tartare and French onion soup quite good for entree. Also their sourdough bread delicious.

We had weekend brunch with a high expectations but I agree with the other review down below saying the foods were not up to the price and taste bland. It pretty much sums up my dining experience. I also too disappointed with their Quiche. Better spend your $$ elsewhere.

All menu are french. This fine dining experience was satisfying & enjoyable. Good job Lyon for the food presentation as well as cozy atmosphere. The service, top notch! Look for waiter & waitress named Ryan and mbak Vivi. Their personal touch they delivered of the service excellent was 5star rating.

Is it worth it? Lyon's Saturday brunch is worth trying, but whether you'd rave about it depends on what you expect to get out of an upscale buffet. Pros: - Unlimited a la carte dishes you can order alongside the buffet offerings. - A wide variety of western-oriented spread. The salad and seafood bar, along with the cold cuts and cheese section had pretty extensive selections. Cons: - If you measure the value of an AYCE by how much the dishes blew your mind, you'd end up dissatisfied. Some were downright disappointing, like the lukewarm soups and the earthy-tasting fish in Seafood Bouillabaise. - Service at that price point could've been more attentive. Plates didn't get cleared for a while, water refills had to be requested, and the bill took some time to get to us.

service is excellent. went for anniv dinner, and they gave a complimentary slice of cake. ambience is just ok, we like restaurants that are not crowded and this was it, but somehow it just feels empty instead of intimate. - gratin dauphinois 7,2/10 - wish it was thinner coz the best part is the top 😄 - velouté aux champignons et truffe 7,8/10 - aus angus reserve MB4+ ribeye 7,6/10 - too burnt - entrecôte au poivre 7,8/10 - crème brûlée 8,4/10 - I personally don’t like crème brûlée too sweet, but husband liked it

Great service. Food is really GOOD but not extraordinarily special. Need to go there a few times to properly rate the food though. It’s a nice restaurant.

Gone downhill. All their competent staff moved to St Regis or otherwise. They’re left with inexperienced staff with little to no training. Food in the buffet and in their a la carte menu come out cold. They don’t taste as good as they used to. The cost of food provided has also gone down. For example they used to serve lobster bisque, now they serve a cold, sad minestrone soup. The newfound fame for this restaurant has been a detriment to the quality. Shame really. Spend your money elsewhere.

I was wondering how foie gras is so popular in French cuisine so I choose Lyon as my first place to try it. Available only at Saturday every week, this saturday brunch offers so much entree, main course and dessert variety. I still can remember how fragrant and tender the pork belly and foie gras. How entertaining it is watching live pasta cooking and stirred in the cheese wheel. Those small cakes and dessert looks also delightful in the eyes and fulfill my appetite.

Great traditional French fare at Mandarin Oriental. Our main courses - Cod and steak with cafe de paris butter - were perfection. The chocolate tart with caramel sea salt ice cream is heaven for those with a sweet tooth - an absolute must! Some things that can be improved would be how our cream was served (it was melted by the time it got to our table).

Lyon should be tagged as restaurant, not a hotel. In 2023 mandarin oriental completed renovating the rooms. For 700k (50 EUR) it's definitely provided value. And the a la carte menu is free too with the buffet. Lobster prepared leaning toward a little undercook is perfect to lock in the flavor, and the oyster is seasoned really well complementing the sea flavor with firmness indicating top shelf freshness. Much much better than from Fairmont Singapore which boast oyster seafood buffet only that often fully booked for the whole week, but dare to serve overcooked lobster and below average oyster firmness. The finger clam is better with seasoning too, but the paella is a bit of a dissapointment. Maybe with a more precise rice done ness, and fresher seasoning than dumping a whole lot of saffron. (The chef may want to try black squid ink paella hotplate as a menu addition) Jamon iberico prosciutto, while not a pata negra, but still provide the original flavor, you no longer have to travel all the way to iberian countries to get a taste. The chef may want to try Jamon iberico with pepper flavored (spicy) option I found in la rambla, as a fresh change. Stilton, while more famous, is far below french cheese in flavor. As well as swiss cheese, which also lacking in texture. I'd go with a library of frech cheese all the time for flavor, and some type of italian cheese. Local mazaraat artisan cheese provide better options than this. Creme brulee, not too sweet, is nice since we try to cut down on our sugar intake.

Haven't been back for a while, now better than ever. Pan seared foie gras (served with beet chutney *not pictured* and strawberries, very satisfying), dover sole meuniere (perfectly de-boned, served still warm), scallop tar tar with caviar (balanced), salmon rillette (skippable), pesto pasta with mushroom and parmesan drizzles (my special request, incredible), US rib eye (despite simple plating, super delish, had it with chimicuri and bernaise), duck confit (incredible). Pineapple gelee yum, nougatine tart (couldn't try but told very good). Great job 👏👏👏
