——- Mar 2023 Went to Chao Chao for dinner during Ramadhan. They have special menu for Ramadhan yet it was very disappointing for me. First of all, on their printed menu wrote that 488K++ for 2 person or more. But in fact, 488K++ is the price for 1 person. If you are 3 people in a group, then it’s 3 x 488K. Second of all, the food tasted underrated for Chao Chao class even though they presented very well on plating. Ramadhan menu special: • Mini Takjil 2/10. Very basic ingredients, they use banana, cassava, 1 pc of kolang kaling, 1 kurma / dry dates (too sweet). • Dim sum platter 3/10. Curry Chicken, Red bean bao, and Durian (tasted a bit artificial, not like eating the real durian) • Char-grilled Portuguese style fish (curry) 5/10. Nice spicy sauce with Stinky beans, yet the fish they used was not suitable for this. Dry inside and texture was not smooth at all • Stir-fried Australian Rib Eye 4/10. Meat and mushrooms were good but sauce was not balance as they made it quite salty • Roasted yellow chicken 2/10 After tasting 1 bite, I didn’t touch it again. Spices were too salty • King Crab Vermicelli 4/10. Not bad yet not impressive • Lemon Marmalade Custard with Mandarin Sorbet 7/10. Finally among all dishes I had, this one actually quite good and refreshing in mouth. The sourness of their sorbet is the best. • Tao Lajiao Margarita 6/10 • Gin and Tonic 7/10 ——- Nov 2022 Nice bar/restaurant with breathtaking views. More foreigners than locals. Chao Chao used to be my favorite bar yet I noticed they have lost their customers these days. Foods and drinks are great, but one thing I don’t favor from this place, their staffs are too quick to clean up our plates and drinks even if we still have some food and drinks left on our plates and glass. It looks like they are quite pushy in order to make us order more, but for me that kind of gesture seems impolite. Should improve more on how you train the staff because I believe Chao Chao can do better than this to create comfortable vibes for customers.

I don’t normally go to Chinese restaurant, however, Chāo Cháo is an exception. I think I’d like to dine there more frequently now. The colorful dim sum are not just pretty for your instagram, the abalone, scallop and truffle flavors will blow your mind. As they did mine. Truffle seafood fried rice and the corn soup with a dash of lobster were my other favorites. Best to go as groups so you can order many dishes for sharing. And do check out the rooftop as well. The view is beautiful and my sister DJs there sometimes. Enjoy good music and the signature cocktails!

I was so impressed with their food dishes their team served to our dinner ! I went with frienfs and we all finished our whole plates and were so impressed with the quality of the food and the short amount of time it took to receive it. Their team is really sweet and helpful. I will definitely be back at this place. Secondly, the place is also very good. Disappointed with their parking facility.

Love the food here! The dim sum here is very tasty and have some nice authentic twists to them that make eating them a delight. My personal favourite dish, however, is the Szechuan deep fried chicken, which combines a manageable spicy taste with amazing taste and texture. I HIGHLY recommend trying it out.

I went here for a chilled afternoon with friends, The overall experience was great, the food was also good, We didn't like the Uighur Skewers though, but the rest of the food was great. Service was also excellent. Quite pricey compared to your regular bar/ restaurant expect to spend 2-3Mio IDR (USD 200-300) per pax

Premium yum cha, i still cannot forget the taste or their roasted duck omg so gooodd .. better than pork. Various dim sum free flow. We went here for Christmas Lunch. Staffs were super friendly and helpful

Food overall at Chao Chao was very nice. The lotus dim sum was beautiful, crispy outside and soft truffle interior, just delicious. We loved the live steamed groupa Hong Kong style, it was exquisite, so tender and of the highest quality. Good selection of cocktails as well, both traditional style as well as from the new world.

Very expensive. The dimsum and duck was great, but the other menu was so so, taste same as other Chinese restaurants. I don’t recommend you to order the course menu. Better order the dimsum, pecking duck, and some alcohol. The staff was friendly and the ambiance was good tho.

This used to be Hakkasan restaurant. But it closed and now changed to Cao cao. Having pleasant experience with previous resto, we are looking forward for good experience and good food too. The result is appealing and wonderful. They have fushion chinese food and some with caviar and truffle. The wine pairing is top notch too. I cant remember what wine that we are having, but it is a good pair. The food is shown in pictures. It’s a luxury chinese dining experience.

Rooftop bar had very nice views and great ambiance on a sunday afternoon. Food quality was excellent and so were the drinks (we tried all the cocktails on thei afternoon Menu, Moscow Mule was my favorite). Good place to hang out during sunset in Jakarta

Dine here for iftar.. Well decorated.. dimmed and having diamond view.. berry traffic area.. Fine dining with delicious food, esp dessert i have taste durian one.. still wanna more ☺️ Well plated, tasty and oky portion Toilet so cleany and pristine.. High beats music cant hear ppl talking here.. Services oky but still need improvement for smiling and voice intonation 4 stars desuuu

An amazing restaurant with an amazing view of the city. It was the former Hakkasan. They do Ah amazing dim sum during lunch. And extensive Chinese menu during dinner. Great service with a large selection of vegetarian options. The also have a rooftop bar with live music in the evening.

Rooftop is close during Ramadhan month. And we were not explained about the correlation. Dimsum and drinks is always a good idea here though.

A superb Chinese cuisine that preserves the unique aroma and distinctive flavors of its ingredients, complemented by a stunning view overlooking Jakarta. The well-balanced portion sizes and tasteful decorations enhance the overall perfection. With the delightful visual feast, mouthwatering dishes, and the well trained service from all staff members, it's a sensory treat for both the eyes and the palate.

On my view the best rooftop in Jakarta. Stylish atmosphere, tasty drinks and cocktails, takebreathing city views. I was enjoying sitting there with my friends. Definitely, I will come back again.

Amazing food, variety of dim sum cooked perfectly, Prawn is delicious. Crispy Peking Duck skin is the best I’ve ever had. The home made hongkong noodles scrumptious. Wonderful Service 😋 Can’t say enough about this restaurant. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 The team of Chao Chao, Dylan and Dorian are very helpful. Will definitely come back again soon! highly recommended !

We went there for our anniversary. Everything we ordered was truly delicious. They also have vegetarian options on the menu and they take food allergies seriously. The place was so nice, totally designed for special days. The staff was super professional. I am looking forward to going there again!

recently visited Chao Chao, a rooftop bar in Jakarta. They charge a 200k IDR fdc, but you get a drink in return. I chose gin and was pleasantly surprised by the generous serving. The place has an incredible vibe, especially with the city lights as a backdrop – it really shows off Jakarta at night. The crowd was interesting, mostly adults over 40, giving the place a mature, laid-back feel. They played classic EDM, which seemed just right for the crowd. If you're into a chill night with great views and a more grown-up scene, Chao Chao's right for you.

Great spot. We had an excellent meal in the restaurant (vegetarian set menu) before moving upstairs to the rooftop bar for drinks. The venue is beautifully appointed and decorated creating a great atmosphere for guests and the city skyline views from both the restaurant and bar were amazing. Definitely recommended.

Chinese food, it was good, a little expensive but the view here is absolutely stunning. Good atmosphere.

After a disappointing incident that happened with the customer service, I finally came back to Chao chao with my friends by Anna’s invitation. Anna was a great manager for Chǎo Chăo, she coordinated with Tio; the server and he was giving my friends and I a top-notch service and also delicious food too! We We can’t wait to go back 😊

I had a wonderful experience at this restaurant! The drinks were a standout, with a delightful variety to choose from. The food and service both deserve 4 stars; tasty dishes and attentive staff made for an enjoyable meal. A great place for a satisfying dining experience!

The view is amazing, it's an open air bar where you can hang out and enjoy drinks and light snack. Food is so so, but we love the ambiance

Very nice chinese rooftop restaurant. Better option to have dinner here and see the city lights. The food was yummy. Beautiful views, friendly waiters. The price a bit high but because the place is elegant and popular. I will come back.

It's not recommended for true dim sum lovers. Almost all dishes are not recommended. It is tasteless and as if as dim sum want to be. Price is really ridiculous with this kind of quality. They need to review and taste the food for themselves before offering it to the public.
