Lovely Hotel! Staff were attentive and the places was clean. All the facilities were up to date except for the bathroom which smelled like old rusty pipes. The hallways had a lovely smell of jasmine and lemongrass. The room was well planned and the balcony was a nice addition.

Service atrocious, prices very expensive for what they offer, ran out of food...We got to breakfast at 09:00 to find only 2 pastries, empty trays and it took over 20 minutes before came to serve us. Unacceptable for what they claim they are! What a shame!

One of my personal favorite lux botique hotel in Jakarta. Why go to yet another boring American 5 star chain when you can go and support a local entity, with a rich nuance of Javanese interior? The place smells amazing. The outdoor and indoor pool are well kept. The gym is complete and well equipped. Service was professional and warm, they all remembered me by name and no request was too difficult. Yes this place may be a bit dear for pricing, but it's worth every rupiah. Location is also amazing, in the midst of the leafy suburb of Dharmawangsa giving a cool respite to Jakarta's hot weather. An oasis and haven for tired souls.

Definitely not as how the pictures on the website depicted. Not all rooms are facing the inside of the hotel to give the resort vibe. The one I got is stuck with views of building ledge. The room is pretty old. One outlet was almost coming out of the wall. I sat on the sofa in my shorts and had rashes in minutes. Doors are hard to open. The room furnishing do need some serious refurbishment. Unfortunately staff are not trained well before put on the job. Their heart is in right place but falls short in execution due to lack of experience and training On check-in, they charged our card wrongly. Key card was not configured correctly so we were left waiting at the doorstep for quite awhile. Phone was faulty in the room. Restaurant food is mediocre, highly overpriced and worse of all, waiters are overwhelmed. The entire area is filled with mosquitoes. Please wear long sleeve clothing to avoid tons of bites. It feels a lot more like a 3 and 4 star experience. For the price, go to other hotels in Jakarta for a much more relaxed and pleasant stay. Only good thing is the courtyard style swimming pool fhat gives you a resort vibe. Pretty hard to find, but would recommend Four Seasons one over this. No reason to come back here again until they update their service, room and amenities.

Never thought would be able to experience a staycation in here, and then we made it. It was extravagant! The staffs’ service, each one of them, they were all rrrrealllly friendly and professional 🥹 the hotel is too comfortable, we stayed for 3 nights. Breakfast menu was delicious, coffee was surprisingly proper, the bed&bathroom is convenient with huge balcony. This hotel is perfect for family, pool is huge and has a lot of sections, there was a playground too for the kids. 5 stars for the staffs, they are all amazing!

Absolutely incredible hotel. Stayed here with the intent of exploring more of Jakarta. Frankly, the hotel was so good that we didn’t explore nearly as much as intended. The hotel features a beautiful outdoor pool that you can lounge by for hours, and an elevated indoor spa that lets you look out over the trees while soaking in splendid waters. The breakfast was fantastic and the staff wonderfully attentive. The room was luxurious, comfortable and the open balcony brought fresh air into the room and provided a spot to relax in the morning. Will most definitely stay here again.

Compared to the other 5-star hotels in Jakarta, The Dharmawangsa's location, lush green ground, spacious room with extra-high ceiling design, and quiet surrounding (the rooms are not exposed to the traffic sounds) are features one can't find in Jakarta. Service, food quality, facilities, and cleanliness are at par with its high-end competitors. And here are aspects that can be improved. My colleague who is a vegetarian struggled to find anything suitable on the menu at the hotel's restaurant. As pointed out in the other reviews, occasional wear-and-tear was indeed noticeable. At times, I felt that the hotel was under-staffed to keep everything tidy, in order, and welcoming to the other guests, especially when the hotel hosted events (wedding, work meetings, or big work dinner).

Very nice experience at the Dharmawangsa. Lobby and outdoor area are exceptionally nice. We love the pool, which is very clean and lovely. The lobby with traditional music entertaiment is amazing. The Friendly Staffs are amazing, truly Indonesian hospitality at its finest. Each and every room was spotless. Bathroom was huge, with plenty of water to stay hidrated. I especially love the bathroom since it was more like a dressing room, unlike other bathroom at other 5 star hotels in jakarta. Room was comfy, especially one with Balcony. We love it a lot. Room size is definitely big, pretty much the same as raffles or intercont maybe or at least around that size. What impressed me the most is the guest service hotline via the phone. I called quite late at night asking for facial tissue refill. The guy who picked up the phone was very friendly, the reason I said this is I’ve been to many hotels and most of the time they either sound flat or just the usual while picking up the phone. Staff at dharmwangsa over the phone sound very “lively” and my request came within 1-2 minutes only; while I know the property is hugeee like it’s not easy to deliver a thing to each room very quickly. I might be lucky that there was housekeeping nearby at that time but again the “mas” who came wa very friendly as well and gave me more than what I asked for. Impressive!!! Breakfast selection is fine. We totally love the outdoor area, enjoying the park, also the gym and indoor pool was great. What I love the most are the staffs, not a single person isn’t friendly at all, impressive. My tiny bit concern is the parking space which is a bittt limited but I believe they have a way to sort it. Unlike other hotels in Jakarta, I love its location at the rather ‘greener’ side of the city. The property surrounding is very ‘rindang’ unlike other 5 star hotels in the city. It was a nice stay, I left with a smile. Will be back for staycation maybe some other time.

A luxurious hotel in a respectable area of South Jakarta. It also has convention spaces and ballrooms for meetings, expositions and conferences.

Not sure if it’s fair to rate 16 years later 😆. But out of all my trips this remains one of my fondest hotel stays in the world. I don’t stay at 5 star hotels a lot so probably a bit easier to please then most. Me and my wife (then girlfriend) stayed here for a week or so. All of the staff were super friendly and helpful. If I remember correctly a few of them had even been in the Netherlands for Hotel school. The room was big and the bathroom too. It was quiet and great after a busy day in a way too crowded city. Don’t see my self visiting Jakarta anytime soon but if it does happen this will be my spot!

Such a beautiful hotel, absolutely incredible. Traditional furniture but in good shape. The pool area is a dream, plants everywhere, small cats walking around and birds everywhere. The staff is very kind. Breakfast is very tasty. I can recommend for holidays, work or staycation.

Very luxurious and spacious and colonial. Fantastic out door pool area and indoor gym with infinity pool. Service is excellent - however expensive for Indonesia.

Attended a conference in their Nusantara Ballroom. Excellent service quality by their staff, delicious buffet and coffee break menu. The overall ballroom area, toilet and praying room were clean. The hotel was in a walkable distance from the nearest MRT station (less than 1.5 km).

It was our first time to jakarta and we were very skeptical spending 2 days there after a business trip to Sulawesi as it is a dirty, chaotic and noisy place. Now this is the exact opposite! A quite oasis in the middle of the chaos! Perfect to stay by any standard, terrific service, great food, very friendly and the rooms are just as pictured…opposite to many place elsewhere. I can highly recommend this place.

Beautiful hotel with the kindest employees and hospitality We stayed at the dharmawangsa several times. And we were always welcomed so warm and friendly. The hotel is gorgeous with its interior, we all loved the scent of fresh flowers everyday. Lobby, restaurant and pool area are comfortable, stylish, beautiful, traditional and modern at the same time and absolutely clean! The rooms are all like suites , super clean and the friendly personal make surprises every now and then. The breakfast and the food is amazing! We stayed for more than a week and the kitchen as well as the whole team made every (food) wish come true! From Indonesian, to Japanese to European and western food- everything was super fresh and extraordinaryly delicious. We travelled with two children (2 and 5) and the whole team did do everything to make the stay a 100/10!! From a Tipi in the room, to personalized cookies, personalized breakfast placemats , an individual kids program and a personalized present at the end, etc. I would Recommend this hotel 100% and we will definitely come back!

We spent two days in this Incredible hotel! Everything was perfect. Ahmadi in particular took care of us, preparing fresh fruit in the morning, telling us info about the hotel and surrounding and making us deel like kings. Highly recomended.

Luxury hote in Jakarta, one of legend hotel but near from crowded area. Service and all activities from employee and vendor is very good. Fit for your exclusive event and for your overseas guest. On outside, you look some garden and cafe, its a one of valuable this hotel. But if you choose public transport, its quite hard to find because far from train station or bus station. Better you choose MRT or raide hailing or taxi or private transportation.

If u like vintage and spacious room, this the place. The got nice and huge swimming pool too with breeze ambience. They have 25% occupancy in weekend (The reception guy said). It’s old room with a lot of woods furnishings but the staff are very nice and polite.

Besides a slightly disappointing checkin (later on addressed in a very professional manner) we enjoyed our 1night stay. In particular the service at the pool and during the breakfast was very attentive.

Very good hotel at the south of Jakarta, has 3 pools, 2 are outdoor pool and 1 indoor pool. The hotel also very spacious, its located with dharmawangsa residence. Their food also tasty, for the price as you can imagine for a five star hotel. Worth the money. Good for staycation. Very much recommended. Good hospitality.

Classic high end Hotel in South Jakarta, you will appreciate Javanese ambience from the scent, traditional songs, and smart chosen interior accents. They have great outdoor space,a great spa, and many selections of delicious Indonesian foods.

One of truly hidden gem hotel in Jakarta. The building isn't tall unlike any other five star hotel in Jakarta. But the ambiance is soo comfy. Feels like in Bali and any other city but Jakarta. Recommended if you are looking for short-escape staycation place

I love everything about The Dharmawangsa Jakarta. The hotel is truly a showcase of Indonesian art and heritage while the staff epitomize the very best of Indonesian hospitality and culture. The hotel is located in an upscale residential area of South Jakarta with lots of green spaces and about a 15-minute leisurely walk to the Blok A MRT station. In contrast to the ultra-modern hotels in the bustling Jakarta CBD, The Dharmawangsa is at once homey and intimate with its classic architectural style and beautiful furnishings. Their Executive Rooms are spacious and larger than most similarly priced hotel rooms in the city. The equally spacious marble bathroom had double vanity basins which was a nice touch. What also sets the hotel apart is their absolutely exceptional food. The Beef Rendang at the Jakarta Restaurant was sublime and the best rendang I have ever had so far. Thoroughly enjoyed their take on nasi goreng kambing as well. Special mention to Sevira who was so helpful with menu recommendations and her cheerful attitude and personalized service made my dining experience great both times. The breakfast and ambience at The Courtyard was a delight too! Needless to say, I'll definitely be back!

very bad hospitality. Mrs Nur, director of events, prohibited standard flower to be put in the area of wedding ceremony. Without smile and apology, she said it was rule of the hotel. when I asked the written rule, she was unable to to show the written rule. I was very disappointed.

EXCELLENT... what a nice hotel to stay in.. with a wide balcony facing the pool and the garden that face east..so its very cooling in the morning. First class amenities all in perfect condition. And the food is simply excellent. Service that is very warm and personalised. Definitely new favourite hotel in Jakarta

Interior was outstanding -- the design really dispict the Indonesian cultural which I love. However, the service was very slow. Ordered room service and it took over an hour for the drinks to come, also requested special instrution for the room and it didn't come in on time.

My last visit was to get afternoon tea with my family. We enjoyed cakes and Dharmawangsa’s chocolate martini- this is the favorite drinks here. We love this hotel, because the ambience is nice and the service is good.

A very nice hotel, with excellent services as well as the F&B. Hardly can complain. I particularly like the nice smell along the alleyways and the peaceful ambience. Still one of the best five star hotels in Jakarta.
