Stayed for a night at Kosenda for their strategic location and beautiful interior design. However, I didnt expect to receive such bad service. We stayed in a petite twin bedroom, the room was relatively small but enough. The bathroom is too small to our preference and they dont provide enough separation from the toilet to the shower space which makes everything gets wet easily. Also, we’re worried when we take our ‘wudhu’ because we dont really know which part is clean and which one gets “najis”. What disappointed us was the hospitality and service from the staff in charge at front desk and the restaurant. None of the staff bother to smile while we ask if we can leave our bags while we walk around the Sarinah area before our flight😂 meanwhile, they smile and bow so low for the caucasian guests. It was so funny though, why would locals discriminate locals. The staff in charge at the restaurant couldnt even ask nicely what our room number was and took our order for breakfast like she wants to be done for the day when it’s only 9am🤣 We decided to brush it off anyways, but dont expect us to stay or recommend anyone to stay at Kosenda ever.

An hotel with classical and green concept made us homely when we stay here. From the frontside the hotel is just like a cafe or bar but the inside is so amazing, a small hotel with green hotel concept and natural..made us like at home..for the first time I just book this hotel for a night but after I enter the hotel I decide to extend the room till the end of my visit this time in Jakarta

I stayed here for 4 nights. The rooms are like a boutique hotel and done well but quite small. They have small windows and mine faced a wall so there was no view and barely any natural light. The food was very good and the staff is helpful. I didn’t think their hygiene standards were up to the mark considering the fact that East Asia has one of the best hospitality standards and this is not a hostel or 2 star hotel. The breakfast area, lounge area, bedding and bathrooms need much more cleaning and I wasn’t happy with the way in which daily cleaning was being done either. I also got several bug bites and now suspect these are from bed bugs. I have never in my life experienced these and I am absolutely sure they’re from the hotel. I hope they have not infested my clothes and luggage but I have been deep cleaning already. As I was leaving the room on the last day, there was a heavy smell of cigarette smoke. I will never choose to stay here again.

I don’t understand why this hotel is praised. If you need the Internet while waiting for work, just know that the owners did not bother to provide fast Internet to their guests! Slow Internet connection. Do you like sports? Then this hotel with two exercise machines is definitely not for you! Don't like the smell of dampness? Another disadvantage of this hotel is the dampness. Soon I will describe in detail on my blog why you should not go here!

A beautiful boutique hotel in a crowded street of Jakarta. The hotel in general is unique. The room is not big but it was esthetically pleasing to me. The restaurant other than very comfortable, it serves delicious food and beverages. Friendly staffs. The access to other areas is great. The roof top bar wasn’t as I expected. The pic of the bar from Google looks appealing and awesome but in reality it wasn’t that great. But still 5 stars cause it was a nice stay and I don’t have any bad impression on this hotel.

This hotel is so chic & unique, with so many Indonesian elements like on the rugs, the wooden chairs & windows, the batik bathrobe & slippers, etc. People nowadays would call this hotel Instagrammable, from the lobby to the bedroom even to the rooftop bar. Moreover, the food in the restaurant is delicious. I loved my bedroom, so comfy. Some say the room is rather small, but for me that's not a problem. The mirror panel on the bedroom wall is able to bring 'more space' into the room.

It's a cute little hotel with small rooms that are good for 1 or 2 nights. Most amenities are provided in the room. The staff is sweet, pleasant and helpful. The rooftop bar is really nice with lots of trees and a nice ambience. The lobby has cool sitting areas and a good restaurant.

This is like a hidden hotel with lush trees around. The mid century style offer a unique experience - feels like in Knives Out movie. The hotel also environmentally conscious, they also have specific and curated ingredients for their soap, shampoo, lotion with a kind of relaxing aroma which is very nice

I stayed at Kosenda Hotel for two nights and I was very impressed by the hotel's design, service and location. The hotel has a modern mid-century aesthetic with a touch of nature. The room was cozy and comfortable, with a flat-screen cable TV, iPod docking station, safety deposit box and desk. The bathroom was clean and well-equipped with a shower, hairdryer, slippers and free amenities. Some rooms also have a mini-bar The hotel has three dining options: Waha Kitchen, which serves Peranakan and Indonesian cuisines with a twist; The Awan, which is a rooftop bar with live music, burgers, asian tapas and beer; and 127 Cafe, which is a relaxing spot to enjoy coffee and tea in the midst of mid-century furniture and water features. The breakfast was delicious and generous, with a choice of menu items. The hotel is located in the heart of Jakarta, within walking distance to Grand Indonesia and Plaza Indonesia Shopping Malls. It is also close to The National Monument and about 16 km to Soekarno-Hatta International Airport. The staff was helpful and friendly, and they arranged airport shuttles and car rentals for me through the 24-hour front desk². I would highly recommend Kosenda Hotel to anyone who is looking for a stylish, convenient and affordable place to stay in Jakarta. It is a small world ignorant of the hustle and bustle of the city

Nice ambience, the location is in the middle of the city but not noisy, parking in front of the hotel, valley. the highway is small with few vehicles passing, it looks like pedestrians on the right side there is an independent bank, on the left side there is an okay restaurant too. the room is unique arts mural on the wall, the room is spacious, the toilet is very clean, thumbs up. there is a rooftop restaurant but cannot bring small children day and night. Huhu.. On the ground floor there is a restaurant with delicious snacks and desserts. The ice cream with the thumb cake is really.. like it.. various. the juices are all fresh, the french fries too.. only the chicken wings don't like it, it's a little too sharp for me so I feel compelled to cough hehe and maybe the seasoning makes it look like it's charred. There is an art gallery on the mezzanine floor, just like any other artotel. there is a unique circular staircase too. still cooler artotel bali hehe, but this artotel is beautiful too and all the staff are friendly.. there is lady (the leader) who goes directly to the operation to receive some gofood that comes (seen when i was at the restaurant) and reminded the drivers not to run -runs because of the rain slippery road (humanizes gofood, thumbs up) Opens the door and greets friendly when we check out..nice touching mba (^^)

Don't book. Worst Frontdesk staff. I went to hotel after 24 hours flight. Room was not ready. It was after the promised check-in time 1400pm. I can agree if the staff ask to wait few minutes by saying they are running behind or something. Instead, front office personnel (with attitude) try to come up with a regulation. I was too tired after travelling. Otherwise I would have leave the hotel right away. I am a regular traveller spend half of my days in hotel. Never met a person such unfriendly staff personal. They don't care to consider the condition of the traveller at least.

The room is quite small but it has lots of amenities. They even have the weight scale! Very nice interior. Not very much choise of breakfast because they only have the a la carte, but the omelet was so delicious. Perfect location, in the central of Jakarta. The only minus I think it’s quite dark, not so much lighting in the hotel corridor or even in the restaurant

Wow I paid IDR 1.9 mio for 2 nights here and the staff told me i could not sit on the sofa, and he addressed that not with a polite attitude. Never been treated like this in any other hotels. I was curious to stay here because ppl said the interior was good. I’m not gonna coming back.

The room stinks, wifi & shower sucks & bed/pillow linen not hygiene. Being a 4 star hotel is definitely overrated. Being a hotel boutique with a 2 star hotel standard. Terrible experience!

Hidden gem in Central Jakarta. Rates are really good for the location and the eclectic design. Will definitely make this as our family favourite during our short trips to Jakarta.

The hotel is dark and feels a bit pressing. The room is small and the arrangement is wield. Washbasin is close to the door. The desk for putting suitcase is too short. Half of my suitcase is outside. WIFI in the room is too slow but in the dinning room is quick. don't know why. Its price is too high comparing to its facilities. Anyway, the service is good and helpful. I checked in while it's still 2 more hours till the checkin time.

Beautiful oasis located in the heart of Central Jakarta. Conveniently located close to cafes, malls, cinemas, etc. Loved the food at the restaurant, and enjoyed drinks on the rooftop bar. Robes provided in the room and the excellent water pressure in the shower added to the extra luxurious feeling. Would stay here again in a heartbeat.

Excellent service, friendly staff, clean room, hot shower and superb breakfast options. I also love the rustic decor, natural materials, vintage feel and indoor waterfalls. Solid wifi throughout. Easy access to other attractions in Jakarta. I will definitely be back.

Pandemic has changed the service quality of Kosenda. This is small but with chic design. Sadly I got bad room with broken AC, smelly bath cleanser, shampoo and lotion and also hot water wasn't working. Tough finally they moved me into new room, still I feel sad this hotel cannot fulfill my expectations.

I had one of the king rooms, it wasn't that big but it was okay. Breakfast choice is limited but what they do, they do well. Service helpful and friendly but S l o w. One item from the menu, choice of coffee or tea. Extra cost for juices. You have to pay after each meal. I was here for several days, the food was consistently good, the service, unfortunately, didn't improve over time. Nice but s l o w. Roof terrace is good, nice atmosphere, bit of a view, some covered areas & it's better to order up there than have food sent up from the main restaurant. The gym is a bit restrictive space wise, not inspiring. Overall it's good for maybe a long weekend, especially if you prefer medium size, private, slightly quirky, hotels (which I will admit to)- a bit complicated to get in and out of at the moment with the new transit system being installed on the nearby main road, but it's still worth the effort - just allow maybe an extra 10 minutes each way, especially at peak traffic.

I would highly recommend Kosenda Hotel to anyone who is looking for a convenient and affordable place to stay in Jakarta. The hotel is located in the heart of Jakarta, within walking distance to Sarinah Thamrin, Grand Indonesia and Plaza Indonesia Shopping Malls and MRT station. The hotel aesthetic with a touch of Indonesia and very unique concept.

Sheets were smelly, as if they were not cleaned correctly or not at all. Also, I payed for a totally different room than the one I had access to. Lastly, expensive charge for early check in... Terrace is nice and ambient of the hotel also.

Stylish boutique hotel in the center of Jakarta. Rooms are not too big, but very cozy. There are a lot of details. Friendly and helpful stuff! Good coffee, tasty food.

The room was nice with great ambience and details, but the internet connection and TV entertainment system was so bad. If you looking for a dining with a view there is a rooftop restaurant and teh food taste is so good. Overall is worth if you want to stay in here.

What an incredible stay in Jakarta it was. Rooftop bar is magic, rooms very clean and nicely decorated, best shower. People that work there are so friendly!

Very friendly and helpful staff! Thanks Mister Rangga for your assistance in printing my documents for the embassy. Perfect location for everything. Walking distance to most places and hotel provides a really good map to find around Jakarta. The highlight was the roof top bar and the super comfortable bed and bed sheets. 10 out of 10!

Well-located, excellent hotel of human scale (compared to the mega-hotels nearby). Lovely room, very good food options - the breakfast is just magnificent (bubur ayam is so good), and the dining options not bad at all. Laundry returned quickly (though do specify if you don’t want them to use a very fruity conditioner…) Very close to the revamped Sarinah mall, which is good for a wander and a gawp (and coffee and food too).

  • 4/5 Ivy L. 1 year ago on Google
Cozy, clean and unique. It is designed by many Indonesian elements and paintings. It would be better if the room gets more light, a bit too dark.

I was confused where to stay for NYE 2023 but this hotel offered a very nice rooftop for watching fireworks. The room was nice, couldn’t complain. The staffs were very friendly, good english as well. The best part is: THE FOOD. Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner, it’s all perfect! Honestly the quality of the food will surprise you. I would love to thank all the kitchen for doing their best job. It’s affordable but adorable 😃 Talking about friendly staff, the owner helped the people as well and she was the nicest person I’ve met in this hotel. I hope 2023 will give this hotel good revenue! ❤️

Won’t be staying here again. Love the cosy vibe but here’s why my experience was terrible: 1) Renovation one floor above my room and it was loud! There was no notice, no fixed timing (one day it started before 8:30am) and it happened even on the weekend. It really really disrupted my stay and I’m more than annoyed. They should have given a room further away from the renovation area or at least inform the guest during check in. They only offered to move my room on my last night out of the total 5 nights I stayed. 2) Sound proofing is bad. I keep hearing the doors slam close whenever housekeeping or guests go in and out. No care taken by housekeeping to keep noise to a minimum. 3) I was shocked one day to find that housekeeping entered my room to service even though I had on the “don’t disturb” sign. I had not kept away my valuables since I had the sign up. This is an invasion of privacy. And if the sign is up, they shouldn’t even knock or ring the bell which they did on another occasion. 4) I had multiple bug bites on my hands and feet. Took 4 days to subside and terribly itchy. Not sure if it’s bed mites. 5) Slippers are not the disposable kind. The comforter too didn’t have sheets covering it. They should have a notice or something to let guests know whether these have been washed and sanitized. 5) Terrible wifi - unforgivable in this day and age. I can’t even conduct a proper zoom meeting. 6) Room is too dark to do any decent work or even put on makeup. 7) TV will suddenly switch on by itself multiple times during the night. First they said it was wifi problem but it happened again and then they say I had to switch off both remotes (why didn’t they inform guests or have instructions?!). Not to mention it took 4 trips to finally get my TV to work again on one day. Spoke to the manager but his tone and manner makes it seem like I was the problem. Kept insisting on going to my room. Excuse me? I’m a solo traveller, I won’t want anyone coming to my room. Disappointing really and I hope the management will upgrade and train their people properly.
