The worst incident that happened in my entire experience with hotels, doesnโ€™t even desert any star: The bar at 7th floor had super loud music played until midnight. The entire hotel can hear with bare soundproof. Other guests from different floors were complaining as well. I called the receptionist first time to inform the bar upstairs to quiet down because my friends and I needed to rest and catch our morning flight. It was 11pm and the bar was playing rave music.Yet in returned, the bar increased the volume as if it was intentional. I called the receptionist the second time to change our room to lower levels, the receptionist told me there is no other room available. I called the third time saying we needed a refund for the room and we wanted to move out from our room, then the receptionist told me there is a room available at a lower level. So all along the receptionist was lying about room availability. This was such an unacceptable practice from this hotel management, especially when hotel lied to the guests. I requested to speak to the manager at the reception the next morning, waited for 15 mins the next morning when we checked out, yet nobody comes to explain and even one slightest apology from the upper management office. I left my contact to the receptionist and demanded an explanation from the management office. Yet nobody contacted me after hours. Highly recommend not to stay here unless you are not planning to sleep but to party at the rooftop bar.

The receptionists in the morning as well as afternoons are so nice and staffs in the kitchen who are in charge for breakfast are really helpful. In the contrary, the receptionists at the evening is really unfriendly. Fortunately, their breakfast are so good and really varied. However, Itโ€™s totally Not my cup of tea. The hotel is โ€œdarkโ€. In the real meaning; The Room is so dark, it only has 3 lights in the room and those are low watt type. The picture that they call it as โ€œartโ€ are so intimidating. It feels like you sleep with the spooky ambiance. Moreover, the bell from the church besides the hotel is suddenly ringing in the midnight. It makes the stay getting more creepy.

    - Extremely noisy until late at night. You can't sleep because you're shaken out of bed. Management doesn't care and doesn't care about the guests. - rooms are in need of a makeover - Boring menu and emphasis on selling as much alcohol as possible - Don't respond to emails

Some tips before you book: - Ask for rooms on lower floors and not higher ones cos there's a rooftop bar here and the loudness might get to your room. Some reviews from guests on floor 7,6,5 complained about this, so i avoided higher floors. - In my opinion the best floor is the mezzanine, where the mini art gallery is. It feels more spacious than the other floors and the mini gallery could also function as a common room for you to hangout outside your bedroom. - Don't book directly, as the room rates on third party websites are far cheaper than Artotel's rate. For example, i got my room complete with breakfast for 500k-ish, while the hotel's rate is 800k-ish. Overall, it's a perfect stay for me. The rooms are great. The breakfast is complete and of high quality. The location is unbeatable. The staffs accommodate all of my requests and responded to my questions prior to booking.

Stay here for the umpteenth time, and it was good as usual. Had a clean room, AC was good, staffs were friendly. It just I believe that they can improve the food. If you stay in the high floor, get ready to be disturbed by many sounds from the sky bar and around. However this accomodation has a great location.

  • 3/5 Shabrina R. 6 months ago on Google
Don't ask for a room in the high floor if you want to sleep. I got a room in 6th floor and couldnt sleep till past midnight as it's right under the rooftop bar. Breakfast variety was good enough but the taste could be improved The only good point is the location

Was a great experience staying here. Located right at the heart of Jakarta. Next to Sarinah. Everything was super accesable. Enjoyed car free day on sunday. Love its rooftop bar, perfect for sunset. Brekky was great and dont forget to redeem 20% discount for the restaurant given at the bathroom' mirror. Stayed here for 3 nights. The nearest shopping mall was grand indonesia and plaza indonesia.

Great hotel. Really nice comfy bed, good Aircon, great shower with free Toiletries. Breakfast was brilliant, so much to choose from including pasta and home made baked beans, cake and fresh cooked pastries. Staff friendly and responsive.

I too had the unfortunate experience of having been given a room on the 7th floor and then requiring a quieter room in order to get some sleep. Before I was given an alternative room the member of staff at the front desk kept asking repeatedly if I accepted a downgrade in terms of the room. This is clearly designed to avoid any reimbursement by the hotel to guests even though they were originally given a room where it is impossible to get any sleep. It seems unusual for a hotel to be playing music so loud the hotel guests cannot sleep, particularly when the music venue, on the nights I was there, had virtually no paying customers. A poor experience and just felt that you were at the wrong end of some sharp practice.

While the location is good, the noise from the rooftop bar is unbearable. My room is 2 floors below the bar and we can make out all of the songs and the music is too loud for sleeping. I went to ask them to turn down the music because no one was in the bar and they didnโ€™t. Iโ€™ve gotten the worst sleep in this hotel, if you are staying above the second floor, you should book a different hotel.

Overall is good. The rooms is as my expectation. The amenities, the bathroom, the bed and welcome drink. Ac works well and also the TV. WIFI Connection was good. Breakfast was good for me. The taste was good and they served many things for main course. Try their Soto Ayam. It's recommended! The location is very very good. Near public places, such as mall, cinema, restaurants, cafe, public transportation, museum. The service good enough. The staff who welcome us was not really welcome for a greeter but they did the job well.

Strategic location, superb service from security and hotel staffs, clean room, reasonable price, good wifi connection. But no netflix and was only provided 1 pair of slippers for 2 guests (no problem for me), no carpeted floor. Still recommended.

Clean rooms, friendly staff, strategic location, affordable price. Left behind my phone charger and they sent it back to Jogja promptly, thankyou. I choose to stay at mezzanine floor based on other review.

Went back to a room at night and found that the aircond making noises. Reported to the lobby and ask for solution. Asked to change our room but receptionist said other room available to change as it is fully booked. Allow technician to check and rectify the aircond but it is already 1.30am and they not complete yet. ( they said it will take around 30 mins). Writing this review while waiting at the lobby. Dissapointed with this hotel. Will never come back

I've been to Artotel Thamrin for a few times and actually know this hotel since their 1st opening (around a decade ago) also been to Artotel Sanur in Bali. Last week i stayed here for two nights, i got my room on the 3rd floor, as usual, comfortable small room perfect for 1-2 person. Unfortunately around 3AM my air con went off and i immediately call the receptionist. They ask them to send technician to my room because i can't sleep without air con especially that time i got my hand injured quite badly. after checking the air con for couple minutes, seems like it needs further service (took 2-3 hours) and it's already 3AM and i need to get up early for an event. Finally after some discussion, they give me a new room, it was a bigger room (probably their suite), at first they said i can stay in that room until my air con is fixed, but later they told me to stay in the new room and no need to move back. I really appreciate the help because i'm quite struggling with the event i need to attend and my hand get injured. It is not because they give me the suite room (which obviously too big for 1 person) but they fix the problem real quick and as a guest that's really helping and comforting. I don't mind if they give me the standard room but seems its all fully booked. So yeah, always recommend this hotel to my friends. The breakfast taste really good too! my favorite is the bubur ayam. my only input for Artotel is.. please, pleaseee upgrade the TV lol, the cable TV seems not working really well in my room. It would be nice if they have smart TV with netflix or youtube. That's it, that's all! overall, i'm satisfied and always satisfied with Artotel group.

My mom and I recently enjoyed an extended 8-night stay at ARTOTEL Thamrin in Jakarta. Situated on the fifth floor, our room provided a serene and quiet atmosphere, ensuring a peaceful night's sleep in the bustling heart of the city. What truly sets this hotel apart is its collaboration with talented Indonesian artists who have infused each floor with their unique concepts and designs. As we explored the different floors, we felt like we were wandering through an art gallery. It's a captivating concept that adds a special touch to the entire hotel. The hotel's central location made it incredibly accessible to public transportation, which was a huge convenience during our stay. Whether my mom and I needed to explore Jakarta's attractions, or simply indulge in some shopping, we were just a short distance away. The breakfast spread at ARTOTEL Thamrin was good, offering a variety of options to cater to different tastes. While our room was comfortable and stylish, we did feel that it could benefit from a bit more lighting. A little extra brightness would have enhanced the overall ambiance.

One of the best hotel in central jakarta. You can't beat the location, plus the service is superb. Even though there's no gym or pool, but you wont be bored. There's art gallery and rooftop bar.

You cant rest in midnight, music is too loud because of your own cafe BART on the top of your building, i really not reccomend to stay here especially on weekend. Is this how you treat your guess to let the customer canโ€™t sleep all night long??? THE VERY WORST HOTEL Iโ€™VE EVER STAY!!!

The staff seemed to be undertrained and not very efficient. They did not allow the customers to use the lift first, and we had to wait for three staff going up and down. Only one lift was turned on, which made it inconvenient for us. During check-in, one of our friend's rooms was not ready for three hours, and the staff responded very slowly, without any complimentary gesture. They even took our laundry without confirmation. At breakfast, the eggs station always opened too slowly, and the staff was very slow and unresponsive, and we had to ask them multiple times. However, the room itself was nice enough, and the location was prime, with plenty of F&B businesses around since we could not rely on the hotel's services.

This is my very first time staying at Artotel Thamrin and I will not regret it. Thank you to Sartika who recommended and booked this beautiful hotel with strategic location for me. Reception is also friendly with a fast check-in process. The rooms are nice, clean, and complete with coffee machines wowwww. Complete breakfast and very friendly staff, and has space for smokers like me wow, I couldn't ask for more. Thank you once again to Sartika and the Artotel Thamrin team, I really want to come back.

Stayed in 610 and there's a rooftop bar at 7th floor. Our room is not soundproofed and we can clearly hear the VERY LOUD music. We're talking LOUD until bed is shaking. Asked the hotel when will the music stopped and it will stop at 2 AM. Asked the volume to be reduced, but no changes. Please note the PIC didnt told us about this in advance and didnt offer any option to choose lower level floor. Overall not recommended and seems like the GM dont listen to complaint since I saw there are a lot of other complaints replied with template and generic reply (not solving the problem).

Not a good place to stay. Room are so dark, only 3 lights in the room. Electricity on and off every time with no one can fix. Noisy life music from the lobby up to 11.30. Very not recommend. I checked out and move to other hotels nearby.

Room is interesting. But we can hear the voice & sound from outside. The cleanliness and service is good. It's just that location is good but it lies on a busy road (next to a shopping center Sarinah ). Parking is fully packed. But valet service is provided

Great value for money, the hotel is strategically located in the center of Jakarta. Easy access to public transports, and right beside the new Sarinah Mall. Each room has a unique artsy concept. They were very neat and decorated with dim lighting. Recommended hotel for staycation.

Hotel with a nice vibes, each room having their own design. In the ground they have like caafe with a lot of chrging point (suitable for those who want to have a bit of coffee with your lptop online). They also have a mini gallery. In the night rooftop become bar, a little noisy in your room but still tolerable

Overall clean room. Spacious, for the Studio 40 type. Interior lighting too dark, additional natural lighting from the windows. AC unit cold but quite noisy. Shower pressure very good, cold n hot water very good. Toilet has no manual bidet. No manual instruction on how to use the coffee maker machine, no water boiler for cooking hot water. There is a bar / restaurant in front of the entrance exit door, noisy during weekend. Great food alternative within walking distance.

Way too pricey for such small and dark room, noisy neighborhood and sorry to say; quite poor service. My colleague had an unpleasant experience having their luggages brought to their room by what looks like a street parking guy, not even the hotel staff. He might be trying to help but it was still an unpleasant experience, especially when the hotel staff weren't even helping. Very limited parking space and facilities; no swimming pool, no gym, again; overpriced. Breakfast was great with variety of options, located very strategically just behind Sarinah.

The hotel is inspired by art. The bedroom is simple but just simply enough. They provide usb port in the room to charge your phone. The breakfast is just nice although it can be better. Overall, we had a good time staying in the hotel. Plus, it is very near to shopping mall such as Sarinah and Grand Indonesia.

Simply love it.. This is not my 1st time here and seems to me that this hotel is working seriously to keep its good rate. The bed sheet is super clean, room is clean, the towels are also clean (look clean and I can feel it as I touch it) although not new. Check in and out was easy, food is moderate.

Located near Sarinah, we could practically reach every tourist spot in Jakarta โ€” not to mention the food street area of Sabang and Kebon Sirih. The staffs are friendly and helpful, hospitality at its best. The food is alright, I never missed my breakfast here. What I love the most is the room โ€” it's one of the best I have visited so far. I think you guys need to build a glass slide to separate the toilet and the shower, though. It got wet pretty quickly. Nevertheless, will definitely stay here again next time.

Love the room; clean, minimalist, comfy bed, shower was great. Love the croissant they serve at brekkie, delicious! I stayed at 5th floor and could not hear the band playing from resto area. But the staff were not attentive, most of the time they avoided eye contact, pretending not knowing guests' presence.. when the receptionist desks were not attended and I needed my luggage, I tried to ask the staff at the bar, he saw me, looked away, and disappeared to kitchen. I went to resto and waved at the staff, she looked at me, not saying anything and just walked away.. weird ๐Ÿ˜…

Sukak banget ! Stayed for 5 nights and extend 1 more night. Check in was fast. The roomservice guy was very friendly and helpful (thank you). The room not too big, but just fine. All were very clean. I stayed on the 5th floor, and my room was facing sarinah building, it was very nice view, you can see the busy street and the ondel2 passing by everyday. The only thing bothers was just the noise, i wish the room could be more soundproofed. The lobby also needs to be improved. Overall i had a very good stay. Will definitely stay here on my next jakarta visit.

For the price itโ€™s a good hotel, the rooms arenโ€™t that big but do have a small corner desk. Internet is OK good enough for an audio conference. Staff where professional and polite. I only stopped for a. Night on the way to London but would certainly stay at the same place if I was in Jakarta again.

  • 5/5 Damiano S. 1 year ago on Google
Glamorous design hotel in the heart of Central Jakarta. On weekends or on special days it can be a bit noisy, because of the nearby mall. But if you are looking for some city night life look no further. Our room was not very spacious, but the bed was large and comfortable. There's a cool rooftop terrace, with nice view and cocktails. The buffet breakfast is excellent if you like Indonesian food, but if you need your western cappuccino or muesli you'll be disappointed.

Overall, this place offers clean room, strategic place, and artistic decoration and ambience. A bit more expensive compare to 3 stars hotel nearby, but this is relatively new hotel so I understand why. Limited parking space, but this is similar to other hotel nearby. Very close to Sarinah and Sabang street.

Lovely feeling hotel, great concept, the artsy vibe was great. Staff really friendly. Room not large, but quite comfy. Breakfasts excellent. Would have given 5- star, except there was a horrid stench in our bathroom half the time. We told staff, and they sent someone up (3.5 hours later) - by which time we had been to the supermarket and emptied a can of air freshener in the bathroom. Staff member looked around, but didn't seem to believe there was a problem. Stayed several days, went through a lot of air freshner!
