If you're on the lookout for an amazing destination to visit, look no further than the sultan Hotel. I recently had the pleasure of experiencing everything this place has to offer, and I have to say, I was thoroughly impressed. From the moment I arrived, I was blown away by the stunning scenery and welcoming atmosphere. The staff were incredibly friendly and knowledgeable, and went above and beyond to ensure that my visit was nothing short of perfect. Whether you're looking for adventure or relaxation, there's something for everyone here. And the food! The on-site restaurants offer an incredible range of delicious options, from local specialties to international favorites. Overall, I highly recommend as a must-visit destination. You won't be disappointed!

Nothing special in my sight in this hotel. The menu of the restaurant. The service. So many things I can't find the special things to review. The waiters in the restaurant looks still in practicing the hospitality knowledge. The taste of the food is good, eventhough not so special. Payment : cash & card.

Astaga i do not understand what sultan management is thinking. All the gate accessible is closed and open the basement parking as the only entrance, totally suck. All the grab delivery, teksi doesnโ€™t know the way and cancel booking. Seriously i do not recommend staying here for the time being, seek other place.

Actually, we passed many rooms, with their respective uses, there are meeting rooms, dining rooms, but I only had time to take photos in the lobby near the sofa we were sitting on. The place is clean and comfortable to meet up with friends or business relations, it's just that we waited a long time for the food we ordered and the taste of the snack seemed lacking in taste but pasta delicious enaugh. Maybe we also parked wrongly, because we parked in the basement which was very spacious and dark, making me feel a little scared because it was night. maybe we should have parked in the front yard of the building.

Old but still great hotel, the room is pretty clean for old furniture. To my surprise The softdrink on the minibar refrigerator is complimentary drink. Room 1001 through 1030 on different building. Have many amenities around the hotel. They have tunnel to JCC. The breakfast even though not much in variations is tasty enough that I don't think I can make it better myself. The staff is not too stiff like other 5 stars hotel, they're relaxed and friendly. The lunch and dinner is good, it's like old time menu when my grandpa & grandma still around.

First time stay here as other hotels fully booked. I booked Executive Room because in their website showed access to executive lounge with complimentary snacks and evening cocktails, Fresh Fruits in room --> reality? Nothing They are not operate executive lounge anymore, They said it moved to lobby lounge. But there is no more complimentary. Evening complimentary only Fried rice or Fried Noodle with hot tea. Just it..and it took more than 1 hour to prepare. They should update their website information

An amazing hotel with world class service, but unfortunately, same with other grand hotels in recent times, time has catched up and the building is frankly a little left behind. Hopefully they can have a major renovation and preserve this historic hotel.

The Sultan Hotel & Residence is quite a large complex and yet it has a very cosy and welcoming feel. Outside looks a little austere due to the design and construction of the period when first built, but is in a nice setting with lots of green spaces and open areas. Inside also has large open spaces and the reception and lounge areas are spacious too. There are many amenities to suit all tastes for fitness or relaxation and a good choice of restaurants for formal or informal dining. The bedrooms are showing signs of age but still very comfortable and the whole premises are kept very clean. The staff are outstanding and so welcoming and hospitable, maybe this is just a regular Indonesian trait as everyone always has a smile and a chat. This location is especially good if attending any events at the nearby JCC (conference & exhibition centre) or the various sporting venues. Additionally, within a short walk there are two shopping centres, Senayan City & Pacific Place, which are both modern, clean and worth a visit if you like designer shopping.

Iโ€™m truly disappointed with this 5 stars hotel which is more likely 3 stars hotel. First of all with the price i paid i exchanged room bcs the AC not working well its still moist even after 30 minutes since i entered the room, the toilet stink and the carpet also. I asked for the exchange room then i got the smooking room also with not functioning room card. These things already made my mood drop and then the breakfast which 300K IDR / person the foods so duh like 3 stars hotel facilities and i think even more better than sultan. After i finished my breakfast i went to swimming pool and rest not after 1 minutes i got โ€œshooโ€ by one of the staff idk told me to move bcs -_- and i lost my interest to swim that time. I went off instead of move bcs that so rude. So imo not recommend. Not again for the next time.

Hote Made us multiple times ashamed in person. they tried to bribe us with one simple stupid pizza ROOM: The bathtub kitting was old, broken The windows were condensed. Tipped the concierge a 20.000 for bringing me a bowl with dried rice. No complaint. FOOD The noise of the live band in the dining area was way too loud while there were hardly any people and thus we were left to order food in the lobby. Ordering food for 30+ euro(500.000)in the lobby area, around 21:00+: Hamburger, soup, cocktail and icecold orange juice After 35minutes, almost cold soup (staff confirmed), warm cheap sugar orange juice leftover of breakfast.A grab ordering would have been even quicker and of better quality and temperature. drank the cocktail, that we ordered before the meal, and found the taste very bad with the lemon just floating in the liquid and no effort of any elegance. Instead of being noticed for a refill of a different drink we were ignored by the staff. The staff asked us later if they could microwave the soup for us, after complaining and tested it arrived cold. We refused all, paid bill Later offered a simple fruit platter of leftover pieces watermelon, (the kitchen was about to close).refused again. The staff at the disco ignored me and only spoke to my girlfriend for 3 to 5 minutes. Breakfast area Staff were talking multiple times to each other in groups of three and even laughing out loud Staff was wearing too big shoes, so walking was difficult for them Posture of the staff and upholding dishes was amateuristic and very clumsy. Multiple times that things fell down. Rude interrupts for dishes. Morning1 a piece of chicken&broccoli on the ground for 15 min, untill we told them about it(not ours) Morning 2:huge piece of fruit&broccoli was on the ground near the table by previous guests, wasn't picked up untill we asked. Many dishes with an heatscanner on my phone showed temperatures of 28 degrees Celsius where it should be 60 Many chafing dishes not closed by personnel which resulted again in cold chicken and other supposedly warm dishes *There was a sales staff that tried to interview people after their food , if all was well and if they wanted to get info on renting an apartment. Such a wrong place to discuss this. Why would I say all the wrongdoings while other people are eating next to me. There was no instruction of the parking and had to pay another 100.000 extra and this could not be reversed. Not even respond and solution after we complained about it, for example to confirm to park area or offer us to refund the money back. At the second night we found a printed letter under our door. It read that we had to leave our hotelroom extra early the next day, because other guests were coming and was advised to do an extra early check out. If we would give hearing to this we would get a free service of help with our luggage. Also differences in Indonesian text and English text of checking out before or after 12. When complaining about all the duty manager in a normal polite way, she did not bother to write it down and forgot when asked.she seemed to have for everything a false excuse. Tried to change topics, hoping we would forget what we were saying. Eventually she started to cry right in front of us. We did not insult, or raise voices, everything was done in a civilized way*. She kept on crying untill we helped her. Later on they tried unannounced to apologize in front of our hotelroom in the hallway, more embarrassment. We invited them in. They apologized, we told them we would do early check out as the letter asked and not felt welcome. We did not want anything but just leave. Still insists of them to come again and they offered us 1 pizza for all our troubles.Refused ofcourse. Hotelpaper stolen.Paid a fair amount, only to be ridiculed in every way possible.Later the hotel asked by sam to help them in a professional level(because of our jobs), after all embarrassment we replied to help but later were again ignored. 1-3dec

We stayed at deluxe room for 1 night + Strategic location, 8 minutes walking to the nearest MRT station + Spacious room, nice hot shower and large bathtub - breakfast not recommended. The fried rice too dry and hard to chew. Then we queue and wait over 5 minutes for the omelet. they should've prepared the omelet before the guests are coming. - we stayed at non-smoking room, but there is a strong smell of cigarette smoke in the bathroom, i guess it's coming from the exhaust fan in the ceiling. I think it only happens when someone next door or on upper floor smokes. I couldn't sleep at night because the smell have reached the bedroom, so I end up sleeping with mask on.

This is old typical 5 star hotel with huge garden and spacious room. I stayed for 2 nights here with breakfast, because of high season during end of year the breakfast situation are crowded and staff were so busy but they are still helpful. I appreciate for their delicious shumay dimsum. But many people not wearing mask on the restaurant , some of them are cough in front of the meals (very sad). One thing that makes me dissapointed is their parking system. We need to confirm 2 times on concierge before we leave the hotel , i think its a bit troublesome because usually guest are forget to re confirmed the ticket after they check out.

The Sultan Hotel and Residence Jakarta is the perfect stay for anyone as its really big place with Restaurants and Bar, Swimming pool, Lawn Tennis courts, Jogging Track, Spa and many more to refresh you during your stay. The room was highly clean, hygiene with all the amenities. It has a wonderful view as I got the room at 15th Floor. The staffs were highly well mannered and will take care of your questions with utmost attentions. The Breakfast had so many varieties with great taste. I would highly recommend the hotel to anyone travelling to Jakarta or in Jakarta.

I still think SULTAN HOTEL is still The Best place to stay in Jakarta, with such a lovely big Garden and good size of pool, no where else in Jakarta we find this type of facilities to offer for the visitors. Also, feeling like I am going back in time, where the traditional and old fashion hotel used to be in 70s and 80s found in here. And the staff are really helpful and professional. They're are making the place so special.

One of best top-level hotel in Jakarta. Used to known as Hilton Hotel but now was changed as Sultan Hotel. Located in the most strategic area in Jakarta. Even this hotel was built decades ago but still run as one of the best

The staff were very friendly and very helpful. We stayed here for the blackpink concert and the hotel was packed with the blinkers. But despite of the long queue at the front office, the check in process was efficient and within minutes we got to our room. The room was nice and the bathroom was spacious. Looking forward for the opportunity to stay at this hotel again

Great view and value in the strategic place in jakarta. ethnic feeling, nice. Good, comfort, and delicious food. Near to the best stadium in jakarta, bring your running shoes or any sport tools! Haha. Need to improve the toilet cleanliness and maintenance. Overall recommended for stay.

Kind of classic luxurious hotel. Great location, next to the national stadium and other important places in Indonesia. I love to jog or simply walk around the hotel, it's surrounded with wide green spaces which is rarely found in the middle of Jakarta. Oh the pool is also great. Somehow this hotel has Bali vibe

Thank you so much to the friendly and helpful stuff. We enjoyed our stay and the breakfast was good. Whenever we had a problem, they tried to immediately to help us. The only thing which was disturbing my sleep, is the loudspeaker when the stuff was calling out for taxis.

I stayed at Sultan hotel Jakarta for Covid quarantine 2 years ago as I returned from Germany. Unfortunately I have never written a review although I have always planned to come back for a staycation. Since I still had amazing memories of this hotel, hopefully a review now is not too late. They gave me such sweet memories for a difficult time during Covid. I needed to cancel my booking at Borobudur because the government changed the quarantine period from 2 to 6 days. The view amazing, at night I could see the Semanggi Bridge and Gelora Bung Karno. The food had enough diversity, they served it on plates and I had a microwave in the room. There was a smart TV, I watched good movies and had my daily routine of exercise. Even though the room was already dated, the aircon wasn't digital with remote control, I thought it was well-maintained. For pre Christmas time, I was given a small cake and fruit platter as a gift. On my last day I was shown around by one of the managers, the tennis courts and outdoor gym was amazing.I still hope I can come back here for staycation one day

My conclusion: - Old building, but they still deliver - a lot of threes, the vibes like very calm ๐Ÿง˜๐Ÿปโ€โ™‚๏ธ - big parking lot - big swimming pools - if you wanna go to the gym, you should asked the staff to give your permission to access the gym in their apartment (separately near the sultan hotels) - so close with gbk stadium, if you want to watch concert or go yo big event in senayan area, this hotel is the best place to stay with.

Bedroom is GOOD & OK, but not with the shower because only hot water that coming out, so I've to use bathtub that not too convenient and for breakfast buffet the restaurant not well prepared for table capacity compare to over capacity guest.. Beside those two, everything is GOOD... ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘

Stayed for 1 night on a weekend. Check-in and out was very fast and require IDR 100K cash deposit for the room access cards. Ordered deluxe room, but got upgraded to grand deluxe. The room is big and clean, a bit old designed but i can say it's well maintained. Bathroom is completed with separate shower and bathtub. Breakfast tastes good with quite various food selection. Swimming pool is located in the garden. Not big but sufficient. The hotel staffs are all very friendly and helpful. The hotel has easy access for public transportation users. Went there using MRT, a walking distance from MRT Station Istora Mandiri. A comfortable place to stay when you need to attend an event around GBK Senayan. A bit of downside, the shower tap in the room was a bit rusty, quite difficult to turn open or close especially when your hands are slipery with soap, need extra effort.

This land should be returned to the city and turned into a form of Central Park (no, not that CP in JakBar). The Sultan/Hilton is a dying relic from the New Order and it is time to put the people's interests first. Let's hope someone has the political will to make Jakarta a more livable city.

  • 4/5 Yosepha R. 8 months ago on Google
It's a five star hotel located in Senayan. The room is spacious but somehow a little bit old. Anyway, I love the outdoor area since they have nice garden and a big swimming pool. You can also spend your evening just to go around the corner because the hotel location is super close to Gelora Bung Karno. Their hospitality is quite good but it can be improved though.

Got upgraded room but it seems after pandemi the hotel had decrease their facility. All looks like an old hotel and definitely need repair. Also the card seems very bad working, I need to go back and forth everytime I am going back from outside, really annoying though. Meanwhile, the people and services are well maintained even after pandemi. Usually this hotel is my choice if needed to stay around senayan but I think I won't think of it again unless there is any event in GBK.

  • 5/5 Ika H. 6 months ago on Google
A legendary hotel with strategic location, located very close to GBK stadium and other tourists attractions. 1. The hotel exterior & interior looks pretty much oldies (classic) because this hotel is built around 1950s I guess. As 5 stars hotel, I guess the hotel needs lil bit renovation in some parts to eliminate the feeling of too vintage hotel. Some corners around the fish ponds in the center looks a bit messy and creepy and very dark at night. Management needs to put attention on that. 2. There are hundreds of room in differrent tower, also a lot of floors. Guest need to pass by a dark hallways to enter their room. The room itself is spacious, but in some point we could smell dusty and stuffy aroma that feels like the room isn't used for long. Maybe because I stayed in this hotel during Covid-19 pandemic in the beginning of 2022. The facilities inside the room is quite complete, including amenities, refrigerator, TV without netflix, fast wifi, wide glass window and bath tub. But if you need iron and the ironing table, you need to borrow from the service room 3. The public facilities are swimming pool, gym area, restaurant, wide lobby and sitting area, ballroom, meeting room, etc. I didn't explore much because this hotel is so wide. And surprisingly this hotel had secret hallway that connect this hotel to JCC. But if you have to pass by this area, don't go alone because the hallway is sooooo deserted with almost no person normally passing by. There are a lot of legendary photos of events held in this hotel during President Soekarno. 4. The cleanliness and beautification of the hotel needs to be improved. The breakfast are quite complete and the taste is fair. The hotel staff is good, fast response, and good hospitality Overall this hotel is suitable for bussiness purpose but for family vacation I need they need to provide more kids-friendly area. I give rating 8/10 for this hotel

The executive is quite oldies but peacefull. I have the view of GBK and surrounding. Prefer the foods catered in the GF, bunch of delicious food. I feel that the staff are not genuinely friendly. There are lots of channels and sites to go see round we were one of the last lucky settlers before the hotel taken over by the govt.

I love all the foods and the coffee. It has a great service too But I don't really like the room, it has a wide bathroom and a good bathtube but the carpet is not clean enough. :( Also if you want to go to GBK, you should pick this hotel.

I had a work visit for several days in Jakarta and stayed at this hotel. The service was excellent, but I encountered an unpleasant experience in the restaurant and lounge. Stayed in The Sultan Residence, Tower 2 in a 2BR apartment. The tower and its apartments are in dire need of upgrade or renovation. They have seen the better times. Inside the apartment, cleanliness is an issue and could have been much better. One positive thing is how spacious the apartment is. Ours has direct view to GBK Stadium. Each room has a small balcony and window can be opened. Kitchen is small and is equipped with refrigerator, stove and dishwasher. No microwave though. Internet is fast, AC is working well. Staff is good at service.

Spacious apartment, I booked the 3 bedrooms type. A bit spooky felt in 1 room with the bathroom inside. Staff were polite, friendly and very helpful.

Old and gloomy, you can sniff it when enter the hotel hall way or room, also the smell of cigarette smoke on the 4th floor. The restroom near the golden ball room reek of septic tank... Is anything I don't expect from so called 5 star hotel.

I spent 10 days 9 nights in the Sultan Hotel for quarantine purpose. The service in the Sultan Hotel is excellent because the staff are able to respond to the guest both well and quickly. The meals during quarantine were satisfactory. The facilities in the room I stayed are somewhat old, but still can function well. Due to quarantine, I was required to stay in the room, I didnโ€™t use the swimming pool and other open-air facilities. Will choose the Sultan Hotel again in the future because firmly I believe that all the staff in the Sultan Hotel are committed to delivering greater service than the guest expects. Thanks for the staff provided assistance to me during my stay in the Sultan Hotel.

We stayed for 3 days during an event in JCC. Bad service, ex: asking for pick up laundry was responded in the next day after reminded. Bad facilities: damage & dirty toilet, old and broken furnitures, slow wifi, and too much mosquitoes. Food: very crowded breakfast so we cannot eat well. Itโ€™s also impacted to a slow service, minimum silverware, dishes everywhere. In personal experience perspective, it was the bad one. We conveyed our grievances, itโ€™s not tackled properly. ~

Stayed here for one night. The room I got was very dirty and requested another room. This room was a bit cleaner but still not 5 star worthy. Lots of mold in the bathroom and fridge, everything very outdated. The shower only had cold water. The only thing I like about this place is the outside pool and the big garden.

I am spending 7 days quarantine in this hotel. All staffs are very nice and welcoming. Super happy with their services. The food is tasty. You can choose Indonesian food or American/International food. Water is unlimited. Very generous amount of water bottles. TV is a smart tv, you can put your amazon prime account, Netflix, Disney plus etc. So convenient! Wifi speed is great. I have no problem to do WFH(work from hotel/here). Nice view as well since we are in 12th floors. We can't hear the loud and business of Jakarta. ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘ Spacious rooms and comfy bed.

A quite old 5 stars hotel in Jakarta. The room was large, clean and cozy enough. It also has bathtub. The breakfast was standard, including the taste. I couldn't find a pork corner, which some guests will looking for it. FYI, you need to pay IDR 128k for room service or IDR 138k in the restaurant for a plate of Sultan's Fried Rice. This exclude tax and service. ๐Ÿคช

the first time I noticed the work of employees who cleaned the room in front of the elevator, from the beginning it was dirty to very clean in front of the elevator, and I like the clean work of employees whose bodies are fat on Tuesday, I hope you always keep the environment clean to make it more comfortable.

I attended a public forum about press and politics in this strategic located hotel, close to both Senayan area and SCBD (Sudirman Central Business District). Could say that the ballroom facility is well-managed and the foods provided are delicious.

It serves its name as a 5 star quality hotel. The executive room is very nice with a great view. The breakfast banquet is delicious, but need more variaties.

A massive property in the heart of Jakarta. Its really a v large hotel within walking distance to Istora Mandiri MRT station (Red Line). Close to massive Pacific mall. Location is five stars. Hotel is hugh with large number of facilities but unfortunately most of them are jaded and rustic. Check-in: was quite smooth and relativelyquick. Staff was courteous and friendly. Room: Quite spacious with Large double bed. Small TV, Mini bar with 3 complimentary drinks, Tea/Coffee, in room slippers and hair dryer. Free Wifi with decent speed. Bathroom was a bit mouldy and fittings are all old and creaky. Facilities: Tennis courts, swimming pool, convention hall, Business centre etc etc list of facilities is long and all working. Surely 4 star sfor facilities . Staff: very friendly and responsive. We had a leak in bathroom and staff was v quick to fix it. Anything we requested arrived in time. 5 stars for the Staff and service. Breakfast buffet: Excellent buffet with both Western and Indonesian options. Only complaint, it was too crowded. Again superb service despite the large crowd. Head for the Breakfast early. Rates: Delux room costed us ~190 SGD/Night

Checking out the ballrooms for an event, they have two areas, one area is older but still nice and luxurious in their own way, they probably just need some new carpet, but the new ballrooms are very shiny and modern.

Overall the hotel offered what I was looking forโ€ฆ. A spacious resident apartment experience for my quarantine with a big living room, comfy bedroom and even a kitchen. Not to mention the balcony was big too! On the other hand, I did not enjoy the food (not healthy choices available). I was just given the option between one western and one local, both being mostly very oily and not freshโ€ฆFood was bad, period. Finally the diritture of the room are really outdatedโ€ฆ please invest some money to improve or soon the balcony wonโ€™t be enough for someone to pick this hotel ๐Ÿ˜…

The hotel, while great and conveniently placed near Gelora Bung Karno (GBK), is very overpriced. It doesn't have the parking space to hold guests when the hotel is in full capacity, the lift is old and has no air conditioning, and the room is sometimes dirty around the corners (my family and I found several plastic scraps under the bed from our room's last guests) The only selling point of this hotel is it's location, which is located in the heart of South Jakarta and inside the GBK complex. Other than that, there's very little reason to choose this hotel over other better and cheaper alternative hotels around GBK.

Upscale serviced apartment & hotel in Jakarta. On-site restaurant and other amenities. Some English spoken. Cash & credit cards accepted. Was pleased with my stay here. Rooms were spacious and comfortable, and AC was more than adequate in each room as well as the common area. Western-style bathroom/toilet. Beds were quite firm but if you're tired enough they'll be no problem!
