Although I arrived very late, I was warmly welcomed. Nina and Rendy gave me so many valuable tips for my onward journey. I'm really grateful for that!

I recently stayed at Wonderloft Hostel in Jakarta and overall, it was a decent experience. The location was great, with easy access to public transportation and a variety of shops and restaurants nearby. The hostel itself had a unique and artsy vibe that I really enjoyed, with interesting decor and a fun atmosphere. However, there were a few downsides to my stay. The rooms were quite small and basic, with minimal amenities and not a lot of storage space. The bathrooms were shared and could be a bit dirty at times, which was a bit of a disappointment. Additionally, while the staff were generally friendly and helpful. Overall, I think Wonderloft Hostel is a decent option for budget travelers who want a unique and fun experience in Jakarta. However, there are some improvements that could be made to the facilities that would make the stay even better.

I’m going to give full 5 stars as this place is worth the price, but they need to complete basic standard to make the service excellent, not only the physical building with its facilities. I stayed in 4 bunk beds room at third floor. Room was so clean with draped comfy beds, lockers, mirrors & very cool AC. this old building renovated so well with lot of contemporary designs. Many paints in wall with Jakarta theme, bright color of interior and places to hangout or just chill. Not luxurious but enough to accommodated all guest needs. Reminded me of how the Imperial built this complex in past and their system still be renovated to living the most modern system now. The minus came from the missed complimentary, towel & room sandal. The rest was fine, as fine as my feeling surrounded by classical ambience like in Louvre complex hahaha is IT? thanks Lords, for many chances for every U & ME πŸ™πŸ» - ⭐️🌞

When I booked Wonderloft Hostel, I had no idea it was located in Kota Tua. My main reason for choosing it was it had good reviews and was inexpensive. This turned out to be serendipitous. The hostel was a charming, well-preserved Dutch-era building close to museums, Glodok Chinatown Market, the Fatahillah Square, and the train station. I walked into one or two of these historic buildings and places every day and spent a few hours looking around. When I had to leave for my next destination, it took me less than five minutes to reach Jakarta Kota train station. Being located in Kota Tua, or the "Old Town," Wonderloft Hostel's architecture was representative of its colonial past. The rooms were spacious, clean, and well-maintained. There's a billiards table, a shared kitchen, and plenty of chairs and tables in the main hall. The hostel also had a courteous and attentive staff. It was a pleasure chatting with Andini and Nina.

It was cozy hostel in area Kota Tua. Just walk to go Museum Fatahillah and surrounding area. There is such likr coffee shop in ground. Hostel itself is cozy. For bunk bed, it is divided to be room for woman and man. It was made in old building but designed so well, so modern so many spots can be used for taking a picture.

Decent hostel, very close to Kota Tua train station. Rooms where a bit cramped and the AC didn’t quite get into the sleeping compartment when the privacy curtain is drawn. The common space is nice but the beer is expensive and the hostel lacks some of the facilities of better hostels, for example universal plug sockets by the bed.

I had an awesome stay here! Well worth the money. The whole bottom floor gets very social with pool games, card games, Netflix movies and a large table for people to sit at. Staff are lovely, dorms and showers are good, beds are comfy and you get TWO PILLOWS!

Curiosity bring me here. The receptionist was super friendly. I booked a 8 bed female bunk bed. I got the bottom one and it was fine. It got a small compartment for you to store your bag, two lamps (one for reading and one for head), two pillows, and a blanket. It has a power slot inside near your pillow side. The stairs to go to the upper bunk bed is made of steel so when there's someone going upstairs, people downstairs won't shake. For me the bed was too soft, although it was comfy, I prefer it to be tougher bed. The toilet located near the shower. They're seperated between men and women. They provide body soap and shampoo. I love their showers lol. There were a lot of game boards and billiard. Second floor and above is intended for more relaxed area. First floor is intended for gatherings. They have some beers, free refill tea and coffee, also tap water for guest. I enjoyed staying here, definately recommended!

Thieves! Money was stolen from me. When I noticed I informed staff which after a while sent a message to the manager to get advise. I waited for more than 1,5 hours to get a response which made me miss the boat I was supposed to take. The answer was: "We are not responsable for the other people in your room" No help at all! They simply don't care! Other than that, 1 out of the 2 girls toilets can't be locked because the door doesn't close. It's not very clean either. The AC in the room is just turned on at 5pm which makes it feel like a sauna before that. Impossible to use the room. Would not stay there again!

Stayed here twice. The staff are just the greatest. I hope its a reflection of Indonesian people in general. Ok, so the building is a bit older but it will not detract from your experience. Twice, the staff put on some free food. Nice big common room on the ground including TV, books. Great chill out space on the first floor and 2nd floor outdoor cabana where you can have a cigarette. They have a good relationship with the pizza place next door, who is also very friendly.

Good hostel, modern and fun decor and pool table with large chill out space. The place needed more of a clean in the bathrooms but it was fine. Beds were capsules but this suited me, own personal lamp & socket. The AC also was good. Staff were really nice, I would stay here again if I came back to Jakarta and would recommend it!

The hostel is really in the heart of the city, walking distance to a lot of attractions and restaurants. Great price-quality ratio, wifi works well, quiet surroundings at night as well, staff was welcoming and nice, breakfast was good (they seem to have 4 different breakfast in a row). BUT It was not as clean as I would have expected it to be. Our towels were stained and a bit ripped, this is something i really didnt like. There is no elevator. I also did not expect to be asked to wash my breakfast dishes (since i paid extra for breakfast)

Booked 5 beds in a 6-bed mix dorm and a private room. The price was very cheap compared to the experience of our stay. While the amenities were basic (expected, as this is a hostel), the experience was not degraded. Building was classic, beds were comfy and clean, staff was extremely cheery and helpful, location was strategic. Traveled here with a group of friends and had a wonderful time. Would come again!!

The staff answered my inquiries about the hostel via WhatsApp, and also friendly. Personally, me and my friend loved the color and the decorations. We took private room twin bed on the second floor. They have hot water running, though the cleanliness is a bit. There are to showers and two toilets, men and women. The communal area also has praying area beside chairs, tables and bean bags. There are electrical sockets too. The lamp in our room wasn’t working, and also the lamp with a paper (looks like a lampion), was torn. Made a few friends here, hope they would enjoy their trips in Indonesia. Might as well take a second visit.

Standard hostel, pelayanannya cukup ramah, they allow me an early check in at 10 in the morning, Imma give extra star for this but! so many room for improvement which if you consider to do it will be so great to have a re-stay one day. - cleanliness, toilet and bathroom cleaning routine. So the guests won't have to call you for a cleaning if you clean it in routine, twice a day, day and night would be sufficient enough. - shoes rack, it is available but very messy! Perhaps, you might want to give number as well to the shoes rack according to the bed number so everyone can have a space for them and obey the rules! Looking for an empty slots was not easy, and I ended up bringing my shoes inside. - Kitchen, perhaps, would you consider to have little instruction or guide on where the utensils are and for some people, the instruction on how to use your microwave, refrigerator, and else? Those little kindness won't hurt, it'll leave nicer impressions to your guests. - Pod, you might want to check your pods regularly as well and see if any repair is needed. My pod, the lamp up my head is not functioned, and the locker wooden base was broken, created many wood flakes everywhere on my belongings. It's a long one, but a heartfelt review I can leave for you as some of your people was very nice to me. Hope someday if I'll ever been back, it'll be a better stay. Thanks!

It's a great place for backpackers (or locals who need an affordable place to sleep). The locker is inside the bunk bed so, you won't need to get out of your bed every time you need to grab things from your bag. It has its own electric plugs in every bed and 2 options of lamp. The AC is cold (a.k.a working properly) a lot of foreigners there, so if you're also looking for new travel buddies this place is perfect. The receptionist was helpful and friendly. One thing to keep in mind, you need to put a 100k IDR deposit before check-in. The location is super strategic. Only approximately 5-6 minutes walk from Jakarta Kota train station or Kota Transjakarta Shelter. Overall I had a pleasant stay. Would definitely come back.

Very good place to stay and look around the Kota Tua (old city) area and easy access to public transportation such as bus, train and airport. It takes about 30 min from the hostel to Seokarno-Hata int'l airport (Terminal 3) by Grabcar around 7 p.m.

Overall the stay was good. I stayed for 2 nights, in the 6 bed female dormitory, it was clean. The bathrooms are also clean and the people at them desk are also responsive. They helped me with the tours as well, you should definitely contact them for that. The location is also quite good, they have a lot of eating options just in walking distance. I also met a few really nice people here :) Would definitely recommend this stay! :)

Nice quiet hostel if you are staying in kuta area, lobby guest area is spacious with snooker, books, pantry and ambience is pleasant though i didnt get time for hanging out there and was exhausted. Maybe another time. Pleasant staff and you are valued as a guest. Dorm rooms are a bit low on lighting and space, it could have been better. No dorm AC during day hours so better to head out otherwise. Pizza slice place is just adjacent. Lockers present inside dorm and have lot of space. Communal space seems more invested in by mgmt, sleep area not so much at all. Pick this if you value more time in communal social area ;)

Awesome place to stay. Very nice staffs. The rooms are capable of privacy, even if there are many different guests booked in it. Clean bathrooms and rooms. Classic English breakfast. Very relaxing atmosphere. Safe and convenient. Feels very much at home. Good cheap price. Definitely recommend and will book in the next time.

Last minutes booked this hostel, and I check in around 9pm. Stay one night here, I would said quite nice experience and their location really convenient for tourists. Hostel located at kota tua, opposite is bank museum and nearby have atm machine. Room and toilet quite clean and toilet are gender separated. Common area quite spacious and chill, good to have a rest there. And also the staff are really nice and friendly.

4 stars hostel with complete facilities. Big common area with pool table and mini kitchen and rooftop terrace. Cute interior - instaworthy too. Thumbs up for the complete details in the bunk bed, from curtain for privacy, hanger, small table, electric socket, locker with key, 2 pillows and towel. For a tall person you should book the top bed since the bottom is quite low for sitting. No breakfast provided, only tea & coffee . Bring your own toiletries Located in the centre of "Kota Tua" close to many public transportation. Highly recommended.

The location was very good .nearby to all halmarks,The staffs welcome you with a great smile and always on helping hand. There were no charging points available in the room. The bed is preety ok but aircon was not cold enough.i had to wake up in the middle of night to the receptionist to adjust the temperarture .it would be wise if we were given a remote to each room. The shower area is spacious.

It's a very nice Hostel. It's just that sometimes or well most of the times it feels very Hot. There aware of it, Hopefully it will get fixed before I visit again for the fourth time. Thanks to Rosa for her wonderful service, she is a kind and very helpful staff and very socially friendly, the type of staff a Hostel needs.

The hostel is in walking distance to many sightseeing spots and museums in Kota Tua. Access to public transport and food is very convenient. Reception was kind and friendly. I was recommended to some of the local's favourite restaurants around the area. The rooms and beds were very clean and air conditioned. There are large open spaces for people to hang around on the first and second floors. However, the rooms and open spaces were infested with mosquitoes. Could not truly relax and sleep without spraying a lot of insect repellent. The ceiling of the second floor male bathroom collapsed one morning. Luckily, nobody was showering at the time.

Had great stay there. Atmosphere might be improved and treatment on individuals varies. Might be a little sensitive, but this place picture homey hostel with good vibes. Other then that it is a great price for the budget given. Keep it up Wonderloft!

It's in the old town. Museums are just five to ten minutes by walk. It is situated near to a train station (5 min walk). Not too far from the airport either. 30 min by taxi(grab) It's an old building. Rooms are well maintained. Bathrooms are clean . They provide towels. Breakfast is not free. Not many eatery options available nearby. There is one pizza place next door. One Cafe recently opened. -they don't have anything other than coffee. Chinatown is a ten minute walk , one can find some Indonesian food there as well. Overall, it's value for money.

Staff are friendly, communal areas are fun - board games, television, pool table. Toilets are clean with shampoo / soap. Beds are comfortable. Only thing is it could be a little bit cleaner but it wasn’t an issue. Showers are hot. Around 10 minute walk to the Dutch square

as a solo female traveler, the hostel wasn’t great. The staff was really kind and helpful, but my main concern was that the doors didn’t lock and i noticed a lot of older men staying in the hostel and not a whole lot of other travelers. It’s not really what the pictures show. Theres also nowhere to store your bags in the room and the rooms are pretty claustrophobic. Also no A/C

Its a nice place to stay for a short term, quiet comfortable for a low price hostel. It feels homey you can make a cup coffee for free but don't forget to wash the used cup by your self, its kinda self service. You can meet new people here from all over the world. House keepers are friendly enough so do not hesitate to asking help when you need something. There is a nice space at the roof top to spending time talk to others I think it's the favorite space according to everyone who has booked a room here.

  • 4/5 Aufan A. 1 year ago on Google
can't say much because everything was perfect, and sooo beyond worth the price! a few pieces of note maybe you should consider to bring your own room sandal, especially for going to the bathroom from your bedroom, and also the location might be too far for those who wish to stroll around the city centre (since it is located far on the north of Jakarta)

  • 5/5 Puste B. 4 years ago on Google
Nice, relaxed atmosphere with friendly staff. We stayed here half a day before our flight back home. You can make yourself a coffee, tea or get some water. There is a nice sitting area, where you can meet others. And an amazing terrace on the roof. The double room with bathroom was small, with a little window, but ok. Recommendation πŸ‘

Plus: Great location and helpful staff. The dorms had AC and was clean. The rooftop was a good place to relax. Minus: The breakfast could have been a little better. It was boring and dry.

I can not be more positive about the staff and the location. The staff made me feel really welcome and it was easy to explore all the different neighborhoods. China town is on the corner and the hostel organized a lot of tours around the city. Unfortunately the vibe in the hostel is off, despite the staffs best efforts. There are a lot of permanent residents, some talk badly about guests and look down on staff. To the middle aged guy with the glasses, go live on your own, stop bothering tourists with your rules which go beyond being respectful and are downright sexist. To the owner, you have a lovely staff, good accommodation, and a great location. You can let go of the profit of a few negative close minded residents in order to have a more positive vibe in the hostel.
