We
went
to
Tangkuban
Parahu
on
Friday
afternoon,
26
February,
after
rain
had
hit
the
area.
The
place
was
vacant
with
few
visitors.
There
were
more
walking
souvenir
sellers,
photographers,
and
horse-riding
providers
than
the
actual
tourists.
Many
small
shops
in
the
vicinity
were
also
closed.
It
seems
the
pandemic
has
really
affected
local
tourism
badly.
We're
lucky
that
the
fog
had
just
been
lifted
when
we
arrived
so
we
could
view
the
Ratu
crater
at
the
top
of
the
mountain
visibly
and
clearly.
We
enjoyed
the
view.
Our
2
small
children
rode
the
horse
delightfully
circling
the
area.
We're
told
that
from
the
recent
eruptions
in
2019,
new
shallow
crater
were
formed
beside
the
main
crater
itself.
Some
tips:
-.
Wear
jackets
or
warm
clothing
as
the
weather
can
be
unpredictable
and
strong
winds
also
blow
occasionally.
-.
Fog
can
come
unexpectedly
covering
the
crater,
try
to
visit
on
good
weather
or
after
the
rain.
-.
Currently
the
place
is
quite
sparse,
obviously
due
to
pandemic,
so
it's
better
to
come
at
least
in
small
groups
with
family
or
friends
so
you
don't
get
lonely
at
the
top.
-.
Beware
that
the
sellers,
photographers,
and
horse-riding
providers
can
be
quite
aggressive
at
times,
but
they're
mostly
friendly.
