Wow!
I
am
blown
away
by
Dr.
Timothy
Satia
Abieza.
I
tore
my
meniscus
back
in
2018
while
rock
climbing,
and
then
I
somehow
aggravated
that
knee
again
during
the
first
year
of
the
pandemic
(2020).
I
began
riding
my
bike
indoors,
and
I
didn't
want
to
risk
covid
by
having
the
bike
fitter
come
to
my
house.
Instead,
I
lined
my
road
bike
up
to
my
indoor
bike
(Wahoo
Kickr
Smart
Bike)
and
called
it
good.
(It
wasn't).
I
developed
Patellar
Tendonitis
due
to
the
improper
geometry
of
the
Wahoo
bike.
My
doctor
at
the
time
said
"Oh
yeah,
just
watch
a
few
videos
on
youTube
and
you'll
be
fine"
(I
wasn't).
The
pain
in
my
knee
caused
a
pretty
severe
limp,
which
then
caused
issues
with
my
low
back/sciatica/psoas
muscle.
This
created
severe
back
pain.
I
have
been
limping
for
two
years,
and
have
had
low
back
issues
the
entire
time
as
well.
I
have
seen
a
variety
of
therapists,
including
acupuncture,
physical
therapy
(30+
visits),
chiropractic
(what
a
joke),
and
"deep
tissue"
massage
therapists
over
the
last
two
years.
Nothing
had
worked.
So
I
came
to
Indonesia
with
a
bad
back.
It
was
so
bad,
I
had
to
get
a
wheelchair
for
the
airport.
I
had
the
wheelchair
from
Seattle,
to
Narita,
and
then
again
in
Jakarta.
I
could
walk,
but
both
walking
and
standing
was
incredibly
painful.
I
even
had
pain
sitting.
The
only
position
that
felt
ok
was
lying
down/sleeping.
My
wife
and
I
were
staying
with
her
Cousins,
and
they
noticed
I
was
in
pain.
They
noticed
I
spent
most
of
my
time
on
my
"foam"
roller
(this
one
isn't
foam
but
made
of
hard
plastic
with
rubber
exterior).
My
cousin
suggested
Dr.
Abieza,
and
took
me
too
his
clinic.
I
was
a
bit
fearful,
reading
the
western
propaganda
about
poor
Indonesian
medical
facilities,
but,
my
fears
were
allayed
immediately
upon
seeing
the
office.
I
was
surprised
at
the
Doctor's
conviviality
and
joking
nature
and
felt
immediately
at
ease.
Now,
the
good
stuff.
He
began
by
evaluating
me,
and
then
showing
me
how
I
had
weakness
in
my
abdominals.
I
was
able
to
see
that
I
could
not
do
a
proper
plank
on
my
right
side.
He
performed
some
stretching,
and
then
slowly
put
a
needle
into
3
areas
in
my
back,
one
at
a
time.
Each
time
I
felt
an
amazing
jolt,
a
release.
There
was
no
pain,
but
it
felt
like
an
electrical
shock
in
a
way.
Immediately
after
that,
I
felt
good.
I
had
no
more
limp!
How?
I
have
no
idea,
but
I
had
no
more
limp,
no
more
knots
in
my
low
back,
and
no
more
pain
anywhere.
No
pain
in
my
knee
or
my
low
back.
I
was
cured
after
just
one
visit.
After
paying
thousands
of
dollars
back
in
the
US
to
no
avail,
I
was
healed
for
less
than
the
cost
of
the
Uber
to
the
airport
in
Seattle.
He
gave
me
exercises
to
do,
as
well
as
requisite
stretching
afterward.
It's
been
more
than
two
weeks
since
my
visit,
and
I'm
still
cured,
no
more
pain.
I
still
have
a
slight
twinge
near
my
patella
when
I
straighten
my
leg
fully,
probably
due
to
the
Patellar
Tendonitis,
but
I
bet
I
could
heal
it
fully
with
a
bit
more
Physical
Training.
This
experience
has
really
opened
my
eyes
to
the
quality
of
care
here
in
Indonesia.
This
wasn't
the
only
thing
I've
had
done,
but
it
has
cemented
the
idea
that
care
is
actually
a
lot
better
over
here.
I
really
hope
to
move
here
soon.
