👍👍 I love the new building after renovation, it is great. A pedestrian-friendly concept, it also combines the idea of a place for shopping and a place for hanging out. The good thing is they do not remove the historical aspect here. They have the roof top on the 3rd floor, but they forced you to instal... I love the new building after renovation, it is great. A pedestrian-friendly concept, it also combines the idea of a place for shopping and a place for hanging out. The good thing is they do not remove the historical aspect here. They have the roof top on the 3rd floor, but they forced you to install the app if you want to just hang out there. Like, really?

The first and also the oldest mall in Indonesia, built ca. 1960s in presidency of Soekarno. As an oldest mall, here displays the first escalator which was used firstly in 1966 but now just as "monument" on 2nd floor. Sarinah itself selling a lot of souvenirs, handcrafts, traditional paintings, traditional weavings, and many more.. There are also modern type restaurant and fast food here.. After shopping, you can rest and relax in rooftop garden, waiting for sunset and maybe enjoy Jakarta skyline.

very nice to see the building finally changed the way it looked with new modern design. Based on the popular tenants lining up, this place will be a great hang out place. The mall is focusing more on domestic products with brands U probably haven't heard of but very interesting to check out even though they are quite pricey I must say. Minus the narrow parking lot and rather complicated traffic on the entrance and exit gate, I'd definitely will comeback. If you're using public transport, take the west lobby bcuz cause there's less line there.

Finally got a chance to visit this mall after the revamp. Honestly, this is a nice mall, looks fresh, open space, bright (in dept store area), several outdoor area. I honestly forgot the old layout tbh 😅 I noticed also, the tenant mostly are Indonesian brands. Or is it intent to be like this? Anyway, it's good, although price-wise are mostly middle up. Things to improve though: - their toilets seems a bit small and packed in every floor. - no tissue or hand dryer on food court area (basement) - more cars parking lot maybe

Sarinah, the first department store in Indonesia! This historical landmark is definitely worth a visit, especially after its major rejuvenation. Besides being a shopping hub that primarily sells local products, particularly those supporting the tourism industry, you can also discover unique things here, such as ancient statues, Indonesia's first escalator, and the beautiful and comfortable interior of the building. Not to mention the cozy open areas for sitting, chatting, or just hanging out. Bravo, Sarinah!!!

After the renovation, it all seems like a complete overhaul. It's now much more modern and beautiful but still keeping in touch with its historic roots with all the historic quotes, pictures, and murals. There's a great food centre at the basement and a great view at the third floor. The surrounding open space is amazing and it's nice for some urban photography

Great hangout hidden spot for foreigners and it is near to a lot of the budget hotel. Was recommended to check out by friend. They sell variety of local products and batik clothing. Sometimes there will be some events. Best of all this area has a lot of different Indonesian's cuisine. Tried a lot of the food here and it is great.

Finally visiting this building again after a decade or more because they are renovating the entire building into a new concept but still preserving the Indonesian culture and building history. It is a nice contemporary concept, juat too bad they don't habe enough parking space during the weekends. It's so crowded with covid still around and no social distancing at all. They sell so many local hand made products too.

I have visited this place several times as I stayed at a hotel nearby for business purposes. It's quite unique compared to other malls as it is the first mall in Indonesia. You will find a small museum showcasing the history of this mall, along with some old artifacts like murals and vintage escalators that they still display. It's a great place for sightseeing.

A small but very "cozy" mall, bringing a little bit of history to the visitors. This mall is great if you are looking for traditional clothing with a modern twist, or just traditional. It definitely is one of the smallest malls I've been to in Jakarta, but I do like the fact not being oversized. As in any mall, several options for grabbing a drink or something to eat. In the basement floor there is more of a "food court" feel with even cheaper dishes, worth to check out~

Oldest shopping mall gets total rejuvenation, food, fashion, hangout, fun and outdoor activities. Sarinah shopping mall gets total make over, now it is transforming into cozy and modern shopping center. The outdoor area is available for coffee ☕ talk, jogging, live music 🎵🎶 including the coffee in a wagon and the stairs for hangouters. Don't miss the outdoor rooftop "Sky Deck Sarinah", access from third floor in sarinah department store. The food court is popular Indonesian food from all over the country. The supermarket is managed by the Ranch Market. Restaurants, bakeries, cake shops are typically semi high end. Fashion is ranging from independent labels to luxurious fashion designer articles. In general all prices are moderate to high. If you look for pocket friendly places, walk across the street to Sabang street and Jaksa street. Old cinema 📽️🎥 Djakarta theater is across the street. Thamrin 10 public park is free entrance and within walking distance.

One of the earliest multi purpose building in Jakarta, consists of office tower and shopping mall. Although the building is little bit outdated, people can find anything here from department store, supermarket, plane ticketing office, cafes, and also money changer. Near busway station.

The New Sarinah is amazing place to visit if you’re looking for “one stop” tourist spots. It’s iconic department store with long history filled with heaps kind products you’d see in Bali or Yogyakarta. It has basement food court and Sky-deck with Jakarta’s skyscrapers view

Very good place after renovation. Many food stall on the basement with many choices of famous brand. Very crowded on the weekend/evening. Hard to find parking space. Better to use taxi to go there.

Sarinah is the first shopping mall in Indonesia, built in early 1960s during the first president era. I would say the recent rejuvenation of Sarinah was very successful. The building is now modern and many interesting tenants. What I also like is the open area and more pedestrian friendly, as no more wall surrounding the area. Well done! The tenants mostly sell upmarket Indonesian products, hence a recommended shopping destination for foreign tourists who want to find Indonesian authentic crafts, products, as well as to try Indonesian foods from across regions. The cons is parking building is very narrow, so do not bring big car here. It also has limited slots. Other cons and that is bothering me was this good job of new Sarinah was contaminated by a politician. A minister whose big picture appeared in a spot of the building. Although I appreciate his legacy, but any state budget allocated to rejuvenate Sarinah is coming from taxpayers, not a minister’s personal pocket.

This place always crowded, especially when there is live music. Well, that was the new thing to gathering and entertaining people nowadays, tho. Quite intersting. The new face of sarinah was good. We ate at Sari Rasa, so we still heard the live music performance even not saw directly. The food was great, the asem asem was great. The tempe mendoan. Everything was good except the sate. Sorry to say. But I prefer sate from abang abang in the street food. :') The ambience was good. Sure gonna come back there again! Thank you!
