Visited here our first day in Stockholm. Was super cool to see such a large ship on display inside. It really takes you by surprise when you first walk in! The amount of details in the ship is amazing. And to think how old it is and how long it spent underwater… Bought tickets on site and didn’t wait in any line. My only complaint is the lighting. It seems very dim which makes it difficult to see the details and interior. I don’t know if it’s due to the preservation but brighter lights would be more beneficial. Even adding some lights inside the ship would make it easier to see inside when you’re looking through the open areas. I like how there’s several different levels to see the various angles. It wasn’t too crowded inside which was nice and there was a lot of history and reading on other parts. All in all, it was a great time spending a couple hours here and I recommend it to others!

Top 3 things to see/do while you're in Stockholm. Great place to spend a few hours. One of the only preserved ships from the 1600s, the sheer size and quality of this is extremely impressive. Well worth the cost for entry. Compared to its Viking Ship counterpart in Oslo, Norway...I would have to say this museum is even better. (Even if there are roughly 800 years separating the 2)

Amazing one of a kind museum. Detailed explanations of the salvaging and history of the ship. Guests are allowed really up close to the ship and it’s beautiful details can be examined. Three levels to the museum with a beautiful cafe with nice staff and good food. Gift shop is well stocked with affordable and good quality memorabilia. Strongly recommended!

Awesome museum. Lots of info in the film at the start that covers a lot of what you will read. The audio guide (available free from the website) also saves lots of reading but the map of where to listen to them was pretty confusing as I couldn't find many of the 👂 signs for where to start them. The ship itself is amazing and super interesting. The lighting of the ship seems a bit dark but I'd put that up to the very specific and sensitive climate control for preservation of the ship.

What an awesome experience. Although the line was rather long, it does move quickly. I managed to be in within 10min. Upon entering you are greeted by this awesome ship. I recommend to watch the film first if you have no idea about this ship. A lot to see and do so expect to spend around 3-4 hours

A very modern museum so everything is thoroughly well designed to be able to get the possible views of every part of the ship around which it is built. There are different floor levels for each deck of the ship, and the 'Dock' where the ship is moored. Accessible lifts to each floor make it easy to manoeuvre a wheelchair round the whole museum. There is an audio commentary to take around with you to explain the necessary information, and the story behind the ship's failure to get out of the bay. A simply superb experience and highly recommended.

A very interesting museum for people who like this kind of historical stuff. This is the largest ship that I have had the opportunity to see live from an earlier time. You assume it's big, but you really have no idea how big it is until you see it in person. The whole exhibition is phenomenal, we enjoyed it. There are queues for buying tickets, so it is highly recommended to buy a ticket in advance, that way you don't have to wait at all.

This was one of the coolest museums I had ever been too. I was looking through some old photos of our trip to Sweden last year and came upon these. I think it is one of those museums you don’t want to miss. It’s beautifully laid out and there are many explanations and interesting facts to learn throughout the museum. I loved seeing the ship from all angles and seeing replicas explaining what every floor was used for. The recovered items and bodies definitely gave you an Erie look into the past. I definitely recommend visiting! The whole family had a good time. The cafe was not to expensive and the food was good. Tickets were reasonable to enter and you could spend hours looking over all the details and artifacts.

This is an amazing place. Such a wow factor as soon as you walk in the door, the ship is right there. Displays are easy to see and read, the floor plan is well laid out. The movie is shown in many languages multiple times a day so you can easily see it at some point during your visit. There's an audio tour that's also a text tour, using your own device. The great thing about this is that you can use it at any time before, during or after your visit so if you want to only concentrate on what's in front of you at the museum. Staff was so friendly and helpful with information. The museum is easily reached from public transportation. I felt that this was something I absolutely couldn't leave Sweden without seeing. Incredible!

An absolutely nice museum everyone must visit if in Stockholm. The museum is not that big, but it has one of the biggest ships I have ever seen in a museum before. The ship is 95% authentic and is definitely one of the most interesting things to see in Stockholm. The entry fee is 220 SEK per person. The staff members are also very nice and friendly.

Amazing! This has to be one of the best museums in Sweden or elsewhere. Such an interesting place. It could easily take 2.5-3 hours to visit this place thoroughly. So much effort has been put into creating this place and also putting the right amount of information so that it does not bore you. The magnanimity of the ship is something you cannot fathom until you visit and experience it yourself. Must visit and I would recommend dedicating unlimited time to enjoy and sink in the experience thoroughly.

Almost didn't go to this place. I'm so glad we did! It was absolutely amazing. We didn't go the audio tour, but I was we would have. There is so much to take in. They do a good job with all the signs detailing what you are looking at, but with the crowds, it hard not to feel rushed. There are 4 levels. Check them all out. Great viewpoints and perspectives at each. There's an elevator if you don't want to mess with the stairs. Definitely check out the video room. Some great information and plenty of seating. The restaurant inside is great. It's a little pricey but good quality and large portions. There's also a bathroom there, so you can skip the long lines on the museum side.

One of the best museums I have ever visited. Fantastic experience with interactive exhibits and information throughout. I didn’t know much about the Vasa before I arrived, but I left wanting to know more, it’s a must if you visit Stockholm. Well done to all that have worked to restore and maintain her, an amazing story.

This museum is incredible! Seeing Vasa is an amazing experience, what a massive ship it is. There are guided English tours for free and it’s very entertaining, our guide was Maija and she was perfect, very knowledgeable and also funny! I have spent over 3 hours here and I still feel I would like to go back next time I am in Stockholm! I guess we are lucky that the ship sunk after 1300 meter on the maiden voyage so we can see her in all her glory today! Amazing experience!

The Vasa is so amazing. I went to the museum 8 years ago and then again a couple of weeks ago. This second time I took more time to read about all of the history and scientific discoveries they’re making as they do all they can to preserve this incredible ship. This museum is so much more than just an incredible ship—it’s full of rich history, including some impressively progressive views for the times 100’s of years ago. Really amazing history. The ship itself has an immense amount of detail—and the design—all the symbolism and the intricacies are really incredible. What I love is that this museum is continually changing and they’re continuing research and work on every aspect. It’s definitely my favorite museum in Stockholm out of the many I went to and I look forward to going again someday to discover what new things they’ve learned.

As a Polish-Lithuanian representative, it was truly a delight to witness the Vasa, a monumental debacle in the annals of Swedish shipbuilding. One cannot help but ponder, had greater devotion been channeled into the actual nautical engineering rather than intricate decorations adorning the vessel, perhaps it wouldn't have sunk immediately and it might have at least made it to the shores of Poland. ;-)

A unique artistic treasure. A huge puzzle. It is really interesting to see this ship. And the more amazing is when you realize they pull it out after being underwater for 300 years. We have to thank the brackishness of the Baltic Sea that helped keep this ship safe all these years. In this museum, there are side exhibitions related to the events and equipment of this ship, which are unique in their kind. Especially the human skeletons left by passengers. You can use the human guide in English and Swedish, as well as the audio guidance in several languages, although I have not used it and I have no opinion about its quality. You can find a store with various goods, a restaurant and places to rest and sit in the museum. Allow at least 3-4 hours to see it in detail. 😊 Have fun! 😍

Definitely the number one best museum in Stockholm. Sadly I was there only a short while but I could have spent endless hours in this museum. The ship is in amazing condition and it is a miracle that it has survived for so long underwater. I will visit again next time I come to Stockholm and I will tell all my friends about my amazing experience here!

This was a very cool museum and extremely unique. I thought the building was beautiful. The ship was awe inspiring! Very cool experience to see and learn about. It is a topic I knew very little about but it as really cool to dig into all of the facts about the ships and shipbuilding at the time. Would definitely recommend for a 1-2 hour stop.

This museum was just impressive. You never expect the Vasa to be so big, and the museum wraps you in the whole story of it, and the story of Sweden for that time. The audio guide is in different languages and can be easily play by scanning the QR code with your phone or tablet. In general I would say this was the best museum I visited during my visit in Stockholm, and can highly recommend it!

I really enjoyed my visit here. Being able to see the Vasa up close is a remarkable experience. The detail on the aft section of the ship was incredible. There are sections off to the side of the ship dedicated to showing what was stored in the ship and a small theater that illustrates the history of the building, sinking and recovery of the Vasa. Tickets cost between $17-$22. There’s also a gift shop.

I must say this was one of the most impressive and interesting museums around seamanship and shipbuilding I have visited so far. The museum is modern and engaging. The ship (Vasa) is just impressive and perfectly maintained. It will keep everyone from all age groups fascinated. Entry is free for everyone below 18 years of age, which is a nice feature for families. Make sure to also visit the gift shop and the many other places around the museum.

Very impressive exposition. The Vasa was a warship that sank 1628 on her maiden voyage just outside Stockholm (or in Stockholm by today's standard) and was recovered after 333 years in 1961. In this museum you can see the original ship that could be recovered and rebuild to 98%. It is impressive and very interesting and you can easily spend a few hours here. There are regular free guided tours in different languages that you can follow or just walk through it at your own pace. I very much recommend this museum to anyone who is in any way interested in history and/or ships.

Really loved the museum. Absolutely worth the money, the ticket I think was around £10-15. The ship has a very interesting story. Make sure you watch a full video in the first room, to understand the history before you go to other sections. It has 6 floors with different objects from the ship and different stories, as well as the different views of the ship. 6th floor has an ice view of the front from high above. For obvious reasons you can’t get inside the ship, only around it. But it’s really lovely to learn and follow the whole story of this ship. It’s like a movie with its own story. It’s only 20min walk from the main harbour or about 30min walk from the old town. It also has a nice shop where I got a cute Vasa Stockholm fridge magnet. No spoilers ;)

This has to be one of the best museums I have ever been to. It is truly something to behold and I cannot recommend it enough! It brings to life our past from the high seas in a way I could never imagine. I would skip the combo ticket for the other museum though unless you are really interested in diving. Side note they will limit the amount of people at the museum due to preservation efforts so I would recommend going right at opening or buying tickets in advance.

Epic, monumental and impressive! If you find yourself in the area consider visiting the Vasa Museum. The Vasa is an enormous ship that sank shortly after its voyage began, now it rests suspended in the air. There are numerous floors that allow you to view the ship from diverse perspectives. Experience history, first hand, by opening a 400 year old letter filled with human effort and genuine magic.

One of the most beautiful museums i have ever seen (and i have seen many). This museum is built on top and around the Vasa ship, and it's about the ship (the history and the story of how it was built, by whom and the purpose, and the story of the people that had to do with it and those who died when the ship sank) . I was amazed by the stories and the size of the ship. The ship is entirely in this museum and you hardly have a chance to see a ship like this anywhere else. I have spent 4-5h here and got to visit the city just to see this ship and the museum. I recommend sincerely - this is not to miss when visiting the city. I hope many will see this ship in the following centuries.

We came here with our walking tour guide. He took us inside immediately. He briefly told us about museum and then left us to explore our own as per itinenary. The museum was absolutely amazing. It was under sea for more than 300 years. The way it was recovered and restored, is unbelieable. One has to see it to believe it. There are so many small items recovered were on display. One should not miss the short movie in the auditorium about how the ship was recovered. The ship is very big and one can see it from different levels

There is also an excellent short movie about the ship and a small exhibition about the women who were involved with the ship. Worth a visit.

The best museum of its kind. The ship is really huge and majestic, it's a shame how it ended up. We could stand looking at the details of the ship all day. Breathtaking! The ship the truly incredible - especially the carvings on the back. The surrounding exhibits are also interesting and give the story of the ship. Impressive restored war ship, which !!*spoilers*!! didnt sail around the world a couple of times or was victorious in any battles, but sank instantly a few meters into its maiden voyage. Nonetheless a marvellous sight! Dont miss the 20 minutes movie which explains the whole story near the entrance.

If you have the Stockholm Pass or are generally interested in late-renaissance (17th century) ships, then this is well worth a visit. The museum documents the history of the "Vasa" ship, which met a terrible fate shortly after being built in the late 1600s. It also documents what the local people did in order to recover the vessel and display it in the museum. You cannot board the ship, which is a shame, but also understandable, but you can walk around the outside and marvel at it. There are also displays about the crew and how they figured out what the crew might have looked like, thanks to ultra high-tech facial reconstruction programs, using bones from the skeletons they found with the ship. There's quite a lot to look at and it could probably take a couple of hours to look around properly.

Tremendous effort has been taken to preserve an ancient ship. The museum is really worth a visit just to see the colossal size of the ship close up and to find out about the people behind the building of it and who steered and lived aboard the vessel. I would recommend this visit.

This museums displays the history of the Vasa as well as the ship itself. You will find out why the ship sunk and who (if anybody) was to blame. King Gustaaf II Adolf who ordered the launch of the ship, admiral Klas Fleming who oversaw its tesing, or the Dutch builder Henrik Hybertsson? The museum is extremely well organised and a pleasure to visit.

There are guided tours, films, a special offer for children and a very informative one Catalog in the museum shop. A visit here is undoubtedly one of the highlights of a trip to Stockholm. Make sure to also watch the introductory video before starting the tour!

The Vasa ship is very good shape considering the fact that it is more than 300 years old. The ship is like the Black Pearl from Pirates from Caribbean. A very enjoyable post Covid trip to a much loved museum. Although we have been many times before there is always something new to see. This time it was the exhibition on the sculptures - very informative and inspiring. Of course the ship itself is awesome brooding in the subdued lighting. Perfect! The restaurant, although busy was great with friendly and relaxed staff. Food selection is excellent and reasonably priced. Great views out onto the water. What would make a great museum better would be more detail into the technical aspects of the ship and sailing in general. This could be reflected in the shop selection. Minor quibble about one of my favorite parts of Stockholm.

Nice Museum. It's great to be able to see the real boat and not a reproduction. The audio guide is really great :D ! It gives life to the visit. It's only my opinion but I think it was kinda expensive. (17€ / adult ) You can see the whole gallery in 1 hour. 😶😶 Nice but enough for me at this price.

In Stockholm? Looking for some museum and history attraction? This warship museum is amazing, the tour is well marked and super interesting, the stations tell the story of the Vasa. There is a short movie in the beginning that I don’t recommend missing as it gives a context to the whole tour.

A must for any touristic visit to Stockholm! It was like being in a Pirates of the Caribbean movie witnessing The Black Pearl live in the flesh. Just magnificent craftsmanship, and the details and sheer scale of the warship is unbelievable. Great exhibition full of history, with many useful and interesting facts. Try to book a guide and get on board the vessel for the full experience.

Absolutely staggering experience. I thought I'd just spend an hour or so there checking out the ship, but the entire exhibition is completely engrossing. The entire story of how they lifted the ship is fascinating. I'd get excited every time I realised there was still a floor of exhibits left to investigate. Standing on the ground floor looking up at the ship is a brilliantly humbling experience.

  • 5/5 Patrick A. 2 years ago on Google
It’s a shame we can’t see inside the ship but it was amazing to see. The idea that they made such a massive ship back then with so much attention to detail is outstanding. There’s at least 7 to 9 floors so come ready for walking. There’s a big gift shop and locker area.

  • 4/5 Richa T. 2 years ago on Google
It’s a great museum to see the actual ship. It’s so huge and humongous n is maintained well. Plus the history around it is explained in the audio guides and movie. But if you are not a museum person n just wanna do it to cover it, then you might find ticket expensive.

  • 3/5 Rohit S (. 2 years ago on Google
A bit weak for the price + needs organization Interesting if you’re into ships. The ship itself looked cool for a few mins and then we were over it. The related exhibitions could use some organization. We had to try hard to get the full history and story behind the ship with the info available inside the museum. The price tag of 170 kr is the reason for the 3 stars; if it was 50, this would be closer to 5 stars.

Fascinating history of the Vasa - 333 years underwater and now the largest preserved and restored artefact. Wish we had more time - an hour is not enough if you enjoy museums. A great museum built around a ship with an astounding story. The ship and the exhibit of the finds of artifacts that have been found in it are well presented and give great insight to what happened to the great ship that never was. The fact that the Vasa never made it out of port mean we are left with a well preserved boat from the 1600s showing the size and detail that required great craftsmanship at the time. Highly recommend visiting if you are in Stockholm

Super awesome museum. Beautiful historical artifacts and the ship itself is just mind boggling. They really let you experience life on a ship and tell you everything about the conservation and restoration process. A must when you visit Stockholm. Ooh and the museum restaurant was also very good, I ate delicious Swedish meatballs with berry sauce and potstoe mash.

This museum houses the preserved 17th century Vasa ship that sank 20 minutes after sailing into her voyage caused by a gusty wind. Not close to the enemy, but in front of an audience witnessing her sail for the first time. It's well preserved and so surreal. They did a phenomenal job restoring/salvaging it.

Perhaps the coolest museum I've been to, the Vasa Museum was built around a Viking ship that was buried in the Swedish Channel for 330 years. August is a good month to the visit Sweden. Swedish summers are pleasant compared to other parts of Europe.

This is the place one wouldn’t mind to come and see again, no matter how many times one has been to it. The story of the ship bring buried in mud on the sea bed and salvaging it after 333 years is just amazing!! The museum is modern with many exhibits on display not to mention the main attraction the ship itself which is so big and well preserved. A unique opportunity to see the 17th century ship and its technologies!! Recommend!!

Cannot recommend this place enough. The story of the Vasa is incredible - from its build, it’s sinking, and it’s recovery hundreds of years later. We’ll worth doing the guided tour (it’s no extra cost) as well as taking a couple of hours to go round the museum in your own time. Didn’t do the film but I’m sure it’s decent. I’d take 3 - 4 hours to take it all in with a break in the middle. We also ate at the cafe which was good. Nice food and friendly service. Topped it all off with a magnet from the gift shop. Great stuff.

Fantastic museum, very clean and well kept. Lots of clear and interesting information about the all aspects of this incredible vessel. I was impressed by the massive amount of original trinkets and artifacts on display. We spent a good couple of hours exploring and learning all we could. Price was about right when you consider the proceeds got to the continued restoration and upkeep of this historic symbol of Swedish history.

In one word: Wow!!! This amazing museum is one of the unique places that I've been to in my life. We spent more than 4 hours in this stunning museum and it can easily be visited even more. Totally worth to visit if you're in Stockholm, it's the top recommended from people who visit this place. The ship is well preserved and very fascinating how it's discovered and brought up to shore, after staying under the water for 333 years. And inside the museum is well organised, many sites to see to digest the crowds and a short film about Vasa, very interesting and informative, however, the light is not so bright, kind of dark.

This is one of better museums I have been to. 100% a must when you are in stockholm. The actual ship is there for you to appreciate the scale and detail of its design. The different floors informs about the different aspect of the ship. From how they preserve it, to salvaging, explaining the interior and exterior, the designs of the Sculpture and many more. Overall very impressed and happy to have visited Vasa Museum.

A really interesting museum dedicated to a boat that was a huge investment for the king of Sweden in the 1600's, that sank within 20 minutes of leaving the dock on its first sailing. You learn all about the times, people and the boat itself. This address included in the ticket price. Definitely worth the time to see.

It is quite a unique museum, I didn't know anything about it at first (my friends just dragged me along), but it turned out quite an impressive experience. There's a small cinema with a full documentary that explains the history of the ship (please recheck for English dub timeable). The circulation isn't that complicated. You walk around and finish the tour within 1 hour.

  • 5/5 Dmitry Z. 9 months ago on Google
This is a wonderful museum with a fairly large exhibit. The historical Vasa ship was fully restored about 3 decades ago. It is very-well-maintaned, and the authorities seem quite dedicated to its preservation. The museum itself has multiple floors and numerous interesting artifacts. I also liked that the museum is nicely air conditioned, which is not the case with many other museum in Sweden. The only downside of the exhibit is that visitors aren't allowed on the ship.

  • 5/5 Jessica J. 9 months ago on Google
My friend is a boat fanatic, he found this place in advance and we purchased tickets immediately. Recommend tickets in advance, it wasn’t packed, but it was busy. They have a cafe on the inside as well as a gift shop, we enjoyed hitting up both. This museum is very cool, lots of history.

  • 5/5 Veronika W. 9 months ago on Google
Visiting this place is an absolute must in this city. You won't see this anywhere. I highly recommend coming in the morning for the opener. We were here about 10am and we still avoided the queues. The museum is huge, so people are quite spread out, but when we left around 1 there was a terribly long line outside. This is an exhibition of a warship that was pulled from the seabed in 14,000 pieces and put back together. I have to say that even the photos do not show how huge the ship is. There are several levels from which it is possible to see the ship. We spent about 3 hours here. There are also many photos, models and interactive places for children. We had only the basic entrance ticket for this boat, it is also possible to buy a combined ticket along with entry to other museums in the area. We did not take advantage of that.

This place is one of the best museums I have enjoyed. The tour in English was engaging and entertaining. The history of Vasa is intriguing and the ship itself amazing to look at. It gobbles my mind to see the breath of work that goes to protect this ship in a perfect condition that it is. A must see when you are in Stockholm.

I really enjoyed the visit. While I understand the hype about this ship, I don't understand the significance of the museum. The ship never played a great role in swedish history but somehow it became a legend!! However, the history around the ship and the story telling is amazing.

While on a Baltic/ Scandinavian cruise from Florida. My wife and I had the opportunity to visit the Vasa Maritime Museum in Stockholm. We have neighbors who are Swedish and they always told us it's quite amazing. It was truly mind-blowing. To see this ship in a complete stage that is so old was truly amazing. An awe-inspiring experience at the Vasa Museum, deserving of a perfect 5/5 rating! The captivating sight of the Vasa ship makes it a truly unique global treasure. The 7-story building provides a wealth of information about the ship itself and the life of people during its era. The enthusiasm this exhibit generates is palpable, immersing visitors in the wonder of history. The restrooms, while relatively clean, had a lingering odor. For an added layer of insight, visitors can opt for guided tours, which can be a paid extra in the museum’s entrance. The souvenir shop boasts an extensive but somewhat pricey selection. A visit here is an absolute must!

  • 5/5 Luke P. 7 months ago on Google
Out of all the museums in Stockholm, Vasa Museum, in my opinion, sits on top of them all. As the only museum housing the ONLY preserved 17th century ship in the world, there is a certain awe taking your first steps into the building and be greeted with the magnificent sight of the ship looking down at you. You can only look at the ship only though, without being able to board it to preserve the integrity of the ship, but the museum is made up of 7 levels telling its story. They are all very informative, including how the ship was salvaged, and even include skeleton of crew found together with the ship. While the story of the royal ship was slightly anticlimactic, being able to see it up close was definitely an experience to remember. There are also free guided tours at different timings, so be sure to check it out. We also really like it as they're the only museum that opens early at 8.30am for early risers. Highly recommend you to go early so you avoid the crowd. If you can only visit one museum in Stockholm, make sure it's this one.

  • 5/5 Christine C. 7 months ago on Google
What I loved most about this museum is that it covered so many different perspectives of the story about what led up to and caused, what happened during, and the salvation and restoration process of the sinking of the Vasa ship - so many people were involved, including those involved in the planning process, the actual men and women on board, and the divers, professional and not. Not to mention techniques involved to sail a boat of that size and details around the flawed ship design. Ended up spending 3 hours here and could’ve spent even more had it not been nearly freezing inside (they also dehumidify the room for preservation purposes). So, if I had one tip for you, bring a jacket!

Amazing exhibition with super great views of the Vasa boat. The interactive built around this vessel is truly world class. It includes everything from a life size replica of cabin where crew slept to a steer the ship experience. The way things were highlighted was exceptional and I felt like I learned a lot about the history. Be sure to visit the cute little garden outside, too!

Here you can observe the incredible effect of people's work. It consist of 2 parts: the first one took 3 years to build a wooden military ship, and the second one took over 50 years to reconstruct this ancient ship. The latter is even more spectacular and fantastic.

Incredible exhibit of the brief tragic life of one of Sweden's most opulent and ambitious naval projects. The remains of the ship alone are impressive, and the details of its construction, demise and preservation are equally a delight. Definitely recommend, for anyone who aims to visit the museums.

Good museum, entry is free if you have the city pass. You can spend anywhere from 10 minutes to 1.5 hours here depending on how you want to visit. The ship itself is very impressive. There are lots of things to read up on, including details from the ship. There is also a room showing a film about the history of the museum which is really handy if you didn't come with a tour guide. The film is shown in different languages with a timetable outside. There are some really nice things to buy in the gift shop which are reasonably priced for the quality. There are a lot of unisex toilets on site.

A must visit while in Stockholm if you like history. Although I think even if you are not big into it you would still very much enjoy the unique experience. I don’t think pictures do justice to this place or the incredibly mind blowing story behind the ship. The museum is incredibly well laid out. There is restaurant and free locker on premise as well

Amazing museum, can't recommend it high enough. If you're into engineering and building stuff you'll love this place, it has so many details on how the ship was built. All is focused on this ship and its numerous details, the whys and hows and when, the folly and ideas of the old leaders and told with a bit of whimsy. Been there twice already, and will be a mandatory stop when I'm in Stockholm

Definitely the coolest daytime activity while I was in Stockholm. I had never heard anything about this ship, so learning about its history and getting to see the ship in person was very interesting. I could not believe the amount of detail that went into the wooden art adorning the ship. The museum is laid out well, and the video presentation is a must-see. I recommend watching it before walking the rest of the museum. The harbor outside the museum is also a beautiful spot to see other modern ships and is next to a little park. We spent about an hour and a half there and looked at everything, and watched the video. We bought our tickets at the door with no wait and used a credit card. We went during a weekday around 2pm.

Amazing afternoon out. Stunned by the ship, couldn't stop staring at it, trying to imagine it when it was new. I've never seen anything like it anywhere in my life, couldn't get over the size and how elaborately carved and put together it was. Also the food in the cafe is amazing - I couldn't believe it was a museum cafe, I would have been very pleased with that in a restaurant, but I guess many Brits will say the same, cafe's in attraction buildings in the UK are generally not very good at all. But here the food was excellent and reasonable price. Also price for museum entry was reasonable considering what you are being allowed to see! Well worth the visit. If you like history or maritime history or are a bit of a geek, or even not, this just can not be missed. It is probably the single best example of an object or thing which is so well preserved, and breathtakingly menacing - that you can't quite believe what you are seeing. If I ever go to Stockholm again, this will be the first thing I do!!

We’ve visited a few museums around Stockholm, and along with the Museum of Wrecks, this has been the best by a long way. Obviously the ship herself is an incredible thing to be able to see, but all the additional information has been incredibly well presented. I highly rate the museum. I had not appreciated the vast amount of detailed work on the ship, which was clearly shown here. A great day out. Highly recommend this to all.

i did not know what to expect when coming to this museum, i just knew it was very appreciated by people who went there. I wasn’t very exited about it because I knew nothing about vikings nor boats but it was surprisingly an amazing experience! The museum is really well done and there is a lot of explanations. I think my favorite part is the one about how it is hard to preserve such a boat and that efforts in this sense are still ongoing !

Must visit.Deserves a 5 star for 1. Amazing marvel created centuries ago 2. For finding it 3. For preserving such a old relic so the world can see what our ancestors were doing 5. For the arrangements done 6. For the constant R&D that is taking place to preserve it for the future. A tragedy that took place many centuries ago has helped us learn more about our history.

Anyone who visits Stockholm really should visit the Vasa Museum. The museum does a great job of explaining the (very short) history of the ship and then how it's been salvaged from the bottom of Stockholm's harbour. The free tour is a great idea and lasts 25 minutes (longer than the Vasa's only journey!). Great museum for all the family

Very unique architecture. A reconstructed and preserved war ship ⚓ from more than 300 years ago. Very interesting story, a lot of lessons to learn. We had a corporate event and dinner there. Experience that cannot match. The waiters were dressed as 300 years ago. The good was presented so intriguing. The temperature 🌡️ is 18 degrees to preserve the ship. I highly recommend for private and corporate visits and events.

The most interesting museum I've ever been. The enormous ship was unreal. I felt like i lived in the whole story back then. Everything was perfectly organised and explained in the museum. (Written, audio, images) Great experience. A must visit if you find yourself in Stockholm. The price was more than worthy.

Must see Behemoth of the Sea and grandest ship of the fleet, named for the King and miraculously resurrected from ruins in this museum of history. The size and attention to detail is breathtaking. Pictures tell the story. Those crows nests atop the masts could hold half a dozen sailors each. Super easy to get to with all the comforts for travelers.

I really loved this museum as they had simple and easy to understand explanations of the details that were on the ship. They preserved the boat really well and they also had a few films inside about the history of the Vasa ships. Definitely recommend this if you are visiting Stockholm. We also had the opportunity to visit the Brickwerks in collaboration with Lego, would have been more interesting and fun if I was 10 years old. But the ship is a total beauty that is worth seeing. We bought the tickets in the counter there, luckily for us there wasn’t that much of a crowd. Maybe if you are absolutely sure that you will be visiting this museum, it is not that bad of an idea to book the tickets in advance. There are also clean toilets available inside and a restaurant but we did not try it. It was pretty packed when we went inside though.
