This was the most absurd restaurant experience in my life. We were a group of 8 people celebrating a birthday, and to begin with we ordered a bottle of red and a bottle of white wine. After approximately 20 minutes they give us a bottle of red; but not the bottle we ordered. At this point we just settled for the bottle they gave us since we wanted to have something to drink. 20 minutes later (!) we receive the bottle of white wine. 40 minutes in and we still hadn't ordered and had just received the introductory drink order of two bottles of wine. I wasn't allowed to see the menu because I was a vegetarian, and they would give me the "vegetarian option" either way. I knew beforehand that their menu wasn't made for vegetarians, but I have never before been refused to look at the menu. The starter was a burrata, which was fine (definitely the best part of the experience, sadly), but here's the kicker. The main course comes in. It looks like they had put lentils in a blender and cupped it onto a plate. I had one bite, but was close to spitting it out. I still don't know what it was. I asked the waitress who said she had no idea, because the cook didn't tell her. Apparently the cook didn't tell her because he was working his last day. It was one of the stranger social experiences in my life. After this trainwreck of a main course and an even worse excuse she kind of just stood there and laughed and then went on with her day. I never thought I would write a review like this in my life, but I felt that I had to share what can only be described as a stand-alone episode of Fawlty Towers. It's really a shame, because the venue is beautiful. I sincerely hope that the restaurant is soon in new management.

Great location and beautifully decorated rooms all through. The problem begins with cleaning (bathroom waste basket not emptied), an overall slow and inexperienced service and food that did not meet my expectations. Got the feeling that they were short on staff or just inexperienced and not sure what went on in the kitchen. The dining area is quite small but they managed to add extra tables with hard wooden chairs not the same as the rest, not a good idea and very uncomfortable. The place has great potential but they have to rethink a few things and perform much better.

I can't make this place justice in a Google review. 5/5 10/10 100/100. Never before have I been to a place where everything comes together as perfect as here. Maybe a tad pricey but you do get your moneys worth and then some.

To be objective let’s list pros: * Hotel as a facility is good, * Surrounding nature, location in general is good, no major roads nearby, very quiet at night, * They are not cheap in the quality of beds, bedsheets, bathroom fixtures, * You will get bath robe, slippers, and vanity kit without asking (I did at least), which is not always the case, * Breakfast is good. Cons: * WiFi did not work (timeline below) and reception was unreachable within operational hours, * Staff is not trained well, of course not everybody, but overall rating *** is hospitality impression, * One towel of the kit that I was giving is falling apart, wine glasses are different, no tea/coffee cup in the suit or in the common area of the villa (where coffee maker and tea kettle are). The villa was not staffed during my stay other then cleaning time, so nobody to ask about anything that is missing. So far impression is not great, I arrived 15 minutes before check in start, 8 minutes after 15:00 my room is not ready yet. Maid does not speak English and, as I gather, barely speaks Swedish, I hear how she constantly sending and receiving messages while making my room. Hotel of such class should train their staff better, in my opinion. Update: WiFi does not work, and nobody replies on reception (19:41). Well, really.

Conveniently situated in North-West of Stockholm. have been there in opposite seasons and it's always magnificent. Free parking is a plus. Good place to stay and relax. Meditation here is the best I recommend. Dining was also possible with fantastic view from balcony. you can get almost 85% sea view from some rooms. Interior design is a great piece of art. Furniture and light work has good harmony with walls paintings. See my photos from inside of rooms and long shots taken from balcony. I recommend visiting this place I'd you love nature and a piece of silence!👍⚘

A charming place with an old world setting and modern finishes. Beautiful setting on Lake Mälaren with a Nature Conservation area adjacent. Fabulous ‘Dinner packages’ with selected holiday stays - certainly a place for couples to escape the everyday and experience the best of Swedish ‘Cuisine Nouvelle’.

Great place to relax after work. The surroundings are a great place to go with family and friends, to do picnics, to start a kayak adventure, to enjoy the sunset.

This went very quickly from a local favorite to ‘never again’. The food took almost an hour to arrive and once it did (after having to follow it up) the meat was unhygienically raw and the expensive salad was literally just lettuce. When we gave constructive feedback the staff were not at all service minded and never came back to us with an apology or response. An expensive bad experience (food and service) which is a shame as the locale is very nice.

Great location no matter the season. Rooms are awesome but expensive 2500+ SEK. Service is really professional but I would've liked more detailed info about my weekend package. 4 course dinner was really good and the breakfast as well. Plenty to choose from. Room had a safe where I could fit my laptop and I was surprised to find a steamer for my wrinkly clothes :). Overall it's a great place to stay for a day or two!

Great view, neat building. The food, not so good. The chef seems to want to lazily punish those that have dietary requirements with inedible alternatives. The service is hit or miss, the tea service was out of water, and it had to ask multiple times.

Went there for lunch on the national day June 6th. We ordered food and waited and waited and waited. Finally the waiter comes by our table to tell us that they are out of pizza dough (around 1 PM!). I won’t come here again after this experience.

Our room, number 32, was cozy with a view over lake Mälaren, had a bathtub big enough for two and an amazing bed with angelically soft bed sheets. The seasonally themed dinner was amazing, with varied dishes that were all very tasty and flavourful. The wine package was very well matched to the corresponding dishes. The overall service in the hotel and restaurant was good. The breakfast buffet wasn't huge but sufficient and everything was of very good quality. Big selection of juice. Perfectly cooked bacon! The entire area around Görväln castle is a beautiful nature preserve with many good walking routes. Borrow a bike from the hotel and go for a ride or walk down and take a dip in the lake.

Only walked around the garden and surrounding area. Was too posh inside for me to even ask a question. Was very 1940's Germany.

I’ve recently had the pleasure to enjoy this exceptional Swedish country Castle and was enchanted by the room, service and setting! It felt far away from the hustle of the city yet was easy to travel to; once off the main road, following the stunning sunflower fields framing the rolling wooded hills to reach the castle was so serene. The lunch and dinner menus were inventive and excellent; breakfast buffet, too, which included gluten free, lactose free, vegetarian alternatives and along with produce grown on the grounds. Coffee in “the Green Room” was a highlight and served with delicious house-patisserie. My room was transporting, romantic with good Wifi and the grounds had simply enchanting: details and walks where one could be transported to a secret garden. Wonderful.

I ate lunch at Görväln restaurant summer 2021. Very tasty food and quick service. We sat outside in the sun and the environment is phenomenal.

By the lake Mälaren, no more than 5-10 minutes drive from the nearest city, you find embedded in beautiful countryside surroundings this really cute hotel with rooms and beds that make you feel like a Princess.

A very well preserved main building with surrounding houses. A lot of care has been put into preserving and restoring not only the buildings but the entire integrated area with surrounding forests and meadows. I'm amazed and very glad to see the care and thought put into this.
