An honest review 1. This is a good place to hang out for dinner truly speaking, not good for lunch specifically in a hot summer day (which was a blunder done by me, as this is not air-conditioned and in 1st floor, there is too much heat in spite of table fans). So, winter/dinner - 4/5 Hot summer - 2/5 2. Decorations are good. Books and designs are full of Bengali essence. 4/5 3. Management is very poor. People are unprofessional and pathetic in managing. A teenage boy will serve the food, which makes it feel like a roadside Dhaba. No special menu, this is more like a household dinner. After serving the food, they will leave you and even in my case, water served in used bottles with torn stickers (at the end of our lunch owner came and gave glasses to drink water, even that was hot, in a hot summer day!!). 2/5 4. Some foods are good, like mutton, chicken cutlets. Paneer and prawn not up to the mark. Polao was served cold (or due to the table fan it gets cold, I don't think so, that, in 5min it become cold due to table fan!). The only thing that tastes really good in the desert. 3/5 5. Cost: the foods are costly, not matched with what they provided to us. 3/5 This review is for improvement purpose. The place is good but little improvements are needed for better feedback. Thank you.

Of late, Siliguri has been witnessing an aggressive expansion in terms of eateries. Icchebari is one such café that opened its doors almost 4 years back. It's a quaint-style house-café with rustic interiors, giving you laid-back experience, and an earthy & authentic Bengali vibe. It's a place designed to make you feel at home. There are two huge rooms, divided into small nooks and crannies, where you may relax and enjoy your food or beverage with your friends and family in the homely ambience. The house is filled with plants, earthen pots, lamps & paintings. The Verandah, which is also the smoking area, has concrete benches to sit, and the surroundings are filled with greenery. In the evening, I wouldn't mind sitting there, sipping my tea with a cigarette, while enjoying the sounds of crickets singing and listening to some Elvis Presley or Johnny Cash. Icchebari also organises several events all throughout the year, the most recent one being the Halloween Party. If you're in Siliguri, and want to explore a hidden gem, do pay your visit to Icchebari.

We went to Ichhebari বাংলা নববর্ষে . They fashion themselves as "Boutique Restaurant". What you get inside is actually a beautifully decorated house. Where you are ushered inside a nice spacious room, where you can spend time before you eat. They have two tables where you can eat. And a couple of different seats to sit throughout the place. Overall it's a nice ambiance. But apart from the ambiance everything else is a bit.... unorganized. So you can't just walk into the restaurant and hope to be served. You have to call a day before and book your place there. They only cook based on how many phone calls they get. Calling them and booking itself is a hassle since that means you have to get them on phone to do that. For us that meant 3 people trying to call them for better of an hour. Then, they had no idea how much their items are priced beforehand. They just asked us that it will be decided on the day and we should just book the plates/slot on leap of faith and go there and see the price (and eat since you already booked). Now comes the actual eating part. Their foods are organized outside much like how you see in a picnic or wedding (except it's self serve for thali). A veg thali will cost around RS 350. Basanti Polao around 200. These might change on your day. When you finally fill your plate and go back to the aforementioned room you quickly realize there are only two tables where you can sit. So everyone else just finds any other place to sit with the plates in their hand and eat from there. Not a comfortable setup for a restaurant. They do serve the non veg items on the table/hand. Not the thali though. Food quality wise it was fine I guess. It was good enough. Not spectacular. Also the mutton we took was undercooked. Shrimp was good. Dhokar Dalna, potoler dolma, bhaat, daal was exactly like how you would expect in Bhojohori Manna (as an example). Overall i would say its a nice concept. Very poorly executed.

An amazing "thakur bari" ambience. We went to the TAAL UTSAV and were mesmerised with the variety and quality of dishes made from 'Taal'.

This place is best if u are hosting a event or party limited to 50-60 persons. The ambience is awesome the theme is based on a retro look of Shantiniketan.. Even they have in house Catering services and I must say the food taste n quality is just WOW!!!

This by far is the best place in West Bengal I've been to for food. A completely different, homelike environment. The menu is your choice. The food is just killer, best Bengali food I've had. The cakes are sinful, yet feels like heaven

Place ambiance is good but the delivery time of food is probably the slowest. Even basic amenities like water and spoon requires time. In this summer heat, they keep charging for the air conditioner which is 200 Rupees per hour which doesn’t make much of a sense.

I am impressed with the look of this restaurant. Its homely.. Loving it even before having the food. The staff is courteous.. I came early on Deevali. There is no menu here and waiter told me 'aap jo kaho hojayega'. Impressive restaurant

Interior decoration is beautiful, reminiscent of colonial Bengal. But the food and service are not up to the mark. We ordered veg thali, basanti pulao and mutton kasha. But the number of items in veg thali was not satisfactory(1 bowl of daal, 1 bowl of bottle gourd and two pieces of fritters and tamarind chutney). Also The mutton was tough and under cooked.

Quality and quantity of food is very bad in deed, not pocket friendly. At first instance everyone would be thugged with item and price surely. Nothing is recommendable except atmosphere though not a large one for 50 heads.
